Single Target Priority Notes
At first glance,

might seem unnecessarily complicated compared to

. In reality, outside of

most of the priorities involving
猫鼬撕咬
are incredibly small min-maxes. Generally speaking, treating
猫鼬撕咬
the exact same way you would treat
猛禽一击
still results in more DPS.
猛禽一击
mostly exists in single target to allow for talent configurations that favour AoE over ST.
With
利矛之刃
talented, if you are following the above priority system, you do not need to play around (or even pay attention to) stacks of
利矛之刃
. You will build them organically with proper
杀戮命令
usage and spend them organically with proper
猫鼬撕咬
usage. A common mistake is thinking you need to hit maximum stacks of
利矛之刃
before you use
猫鼬撕咬
To use
鱼叉猛刺
with minimal loss of uptime, you can strafe backwards to use

at the minimum range. You can also use

to rapidly get leave range to use it as well, if you do not need

in the immediate future.
Focus in Single Target is a very valuable resource, and even though

isn't insanely strong by itself, alternative talent options for
接战协定
are relatively weak. This means that it does not take much for
接战协定
to beat competing talents, but also doesn't make
接战协定
too important. With that in mind you can definitely extract extra output from maximising
接战协定
, but natural

use during an encounter is often "enough" for it to beat competing talents. All with the extra benefit of extra mobility.
Although this currently is not an efficient talent configuration, If you have both
锐矛之锋
and

talented do NOT use them at the same time. They directly conflict with each other's priority system.
Survival Hunter AoE Priority

, losing valueable GCDs is not worth it.
In

prolonged encounters, minmaxing the
野火炸弹
charges by skipping to the next priority until nearly fully recharged can have a beneficial impact on your DPS (~0.5%), as this can waste slightly less cooldown on abilities on a lower priority. However in most practical scenarios, frontloading both
野火炸弹
charges results in a slightly better DPS outcome (~0.2%). For instance, by ensuring minimal DoT uptime is wasted on dying targets, as well as minimising cooldown reduction waste from
狂乱打击
and
突刺
. With that in mind, it is often just better not to think about it too much.
Advanced Survival Hunter Tips
Here are some tips and tricks you can use to squeeze out a bit extra DPS and an explanation of our new priority.
猫鼬撕咬
is a very large portion of our Single Target damage output and proper management of
猫鼬之怒
will let you squeeze out every extra ounce of damage.
Essentially, the goal is to achieve as many 5 stack Fury
猫鼬撕咬
as possible without wasting
杀戮命令
cooldown—its Focus regen directly translates into more frequent
猫鼬撕咬
, which at the end of the day results in more damage. This is why
杀戮命令
still has a higher priority than
猫鼬撕咬
in most cases—provided that its usage wont over cap Focus. The balance between "quantity" over "quality" heavily leans towards "quantity" at the moment. meaning generating focus is priority.
Because the duration of
猫鼬之怒
does not refresh when used, we refer to the 14 second buff duration as a "window".
A
猫鼬之怒
window is best started at maximum Focus. However, because we also shouldn't be wasting
杀戮命令
cooldown or sitting on max Focus either, we generally start a
猫鼬之怒
window as soon as we will not be able
杀戮命令
again without over capping Focus (typically between 65 and 90 Focus depending on how much cooldown is left on
杀戮命令
). With
Hunter Survival 10.1 Class Set 4pc
equipped, the raw output of
猫鼬撕咬
itself becomes less mportant, and starting a

window can be done at any time. The balance between "quantity" over "quality" still heavily leans towards "quantity", because spending focus now reduces our

cooldown. And in order to spend focus, we need to generate it first. With the
Hunter Survival 10.1 Class Set 4pc
equipped, Focus management directly increases you
野火炸弹
damage.
Offensive Cooldown Usage for Survival Hunter in Dragonflight
As a Survival Hunter, we can have access to two new and exciting cooldowns in Dragonflight:
锐矛之锋
and
协同进攻
. Both cooldowns strengthen you and your pet, and also include a long range gap closer that charges you and your pet to your target. The former is most optimally used in a single-target situation while the latter is most optimally used in a multi-target situation. Typically you will only be talented into one of these cooldowns as both also include a variety of talents to further enhance their power.
It is worth mentioning that although it is technically possible to have both
锐矛之锋
and
协同进攻
in a single talent build, none of our builds recommend doing so. They directly conflict with each other's priority system and you are better off focusing on just one of the two cooldowns.
锐矛之锋
is generally considered to be our Single Target cooldown.
锐矛之锋
increases your pet's damage and adds a potent damage enhance to your main spender,
猛禽一击
/
猫鼬撕咬
, the latter of which is practically mandatory with
锐矛之锋
. This damage enhancement comes in the form of an igniting Bleed DoT based on the damage your
猫鼬撕咬
deals to your target.

strengthens this cooldown by increasing its duration through succesful

resets, letting you fit more abilities into your cooldown window. This then lets you stack the

bleed for longer, generating more

is done through several methods:

when your focus is high enough (90+ at the time of casting, ideally).

) during the GCD of

, or somewhere during

Make sure to use

on the GCD prior to

. Because of the delayed ticks, the majority of the focus regeneration and damage amplification will be inside of spearhead

to cleave and hit up to 3 nearby targets, which is quite deadly when paired with the above enhancements. However, this will do nothing if you are fighting just a single target.
Maximising

can be fairly tricky, our Macros & Addons page on our guide lists a set of macros that can assist you in managing this, but the fundamentals remain the same with or without the macros:

Increases

damage by 20%. However, in reality only the direct and smaller portion of its damage is affected, meaning the total increase is actually ~8.6%.

damage by 50%. However, in reality it is also affected by

With the above in mind, it isn't difficult to see that spending

This means your primary goal in every

window is to cast at least 4

s, and empowering

should never be done if it means you cannot achieve this goal.
With meticulous timing, you can achieve a 5th

when the target is under 20% health. because

persists even when

is generally considered to be an AoE-only ability, and single target builds typically skip this talent despite it being so easy to access. However,
Hunter Survival 10.2 Class Set 4pc
has turned Fury of the Eagle into a suitable Single Target cooldown for the time being.

is fairly simple: it deals 9 ticks of physical damage in a frontal cone, and can be further enhanced with
无情掠夺
. This gives each tick of
雄鹰之怒
a cooldown reduction to

. This cooldown reduction has an incredibly tiny internal cooldown which prevents several crits of the same "wave" from each reducing the cooldown of
野火炸弹
separately. In other words, the maximum amount of cooldown reduction

At its core
雄鹰之怒
is quite similar to
怒雷破
, a monk ability. However, one of the key differences is that
雄鹰之怒
has no separate primary target or AoE target tuning, the damage across all targets is the same.
Optimising Fury of the Eagle in Single Target
Partly for the lack of a single target damage scalar listed above, Fury of the Eagle itself performs great for AoE purposes but fairly poor for Single target purposes. Without any modifiers like
无情掠夺
or
Hunter Survival 10.2 Class Set 4pc
to buff up
雄鹰之怒
The channel time of an unmodified
雄鹰之怒
simply takes just a tiny bit too long for the damage it ends up dealing against just a single target. In almost all cases you are better off canceling the channel immediately (or simply not casting it at all without
Hunter Survival 10.2 Class Set 4pc
) if anything else becomes available.
Maximising Fury of the Eagle for Single Target is done as such:

Optimising Fury of the Eagle in AoE
Because
雄鹰之怒
is a default pick in AoE anyway it is a lot less complicated to optimise. Channels should never be canceled, and it is a high priority ability regardless of modifiers.
With that said, there are still a few things you can do to maximise its performance:
Be aware of its relatively small cone, you may need to get real close into a primary targets hitbox in order to hit mobs behind it.
雄鹰之怒
has a softcap of 5. The way this works is that for every target beyond 5, the damage increases by a smaller amount divided over the total target pool. You can calculate this with 100*5*√(T / 5) where T is the target count you're hitting. For instance, hitting 5 targets results in 500%, or 5 times the damage. Hitting 20 targets results in 1000% or 10 times the damage. There is a large payoff hitting 5 instead of 3 targets, but this payoff shrinks massively when hitting anything beyond 5 targets.
Although we do not expect you to game with a calculator at all times, With that in mind, delaying the cast slightly until all mobs are properly stacked can make a large difference.
But similarly, waiting too long just to hit 20 targets when you could have just hit 15 targets may not be worth the payoff, especially if you consider the cooldown reduction you could have gotten through potential

Could you expand on the opening sequences? I find the rotation quite organic to follow once you get rolling with the encounter, but since most of the priorities are based on our current focus and charges available, I struggle a bit to settle on the optimal opener sequence.
