This racial is simply awesome, it last what seems like forever. I have a feeling this will even more useful in Burning Crusade.

While there are spells from a Shaman or Warlock that will do this racial better, and there are even potions to do it, this racial helps when in a Battleground with water, or near water terrain. You can outlast your opponent in the water better than on land :)

I can't tell you how many times I switch from my Undead Rogue to my Orc Warrior or Troll Shaman and drown simply because I forget I don't have this awesome racial on them.... it's truly kickass! very overlooked racial if you ask me =)

One down side to this racial. Low level (30-) Undead trying to go to Azure Myst have to wait for the easiest way to go. Drown under the boat, then ghost and rez on the boat. I had to wait a long time before I could catch up to my group, who was all BE T-T

Just to clarify:
A non-undead character can breathe under water for one minute.
An undead can therefore breath for 1min + (1min * 3) = 4 min
edit: this is now outdated.
Now non-UD chars can breathe 3 mins and UD chars can breathe 10 mins.

Great ability no doubt. I always thought it would be better to simply change this ability from being a passive 233% to a self cast that allowed you to simply breathe underwater for 10 minutes, much like the Warlock ability. With the changes made to how long players can breathe under water that were implemented not too long ago the breath bar lasts 10 minutes for undead players now anyway.
Just a thought...

I think this should be renamed. Elric of Melniboné's sword Stormbringer comes to mind the way it would suck souls and give Elric back energy. It should be named something more appropriate in these lines - maybe "
Soul Feast
?" It would go well with undead.
I like it anyway. :)

i just tested the mastery as an UH DK and it scales with your mastery! since Lichborne is no longer baseline for all DKs, the UD racials are even more awesome now for a DK.
in addition to the Fallen Crusader enchant this will be some nice passive heal for every UD UH DK (just had to write that once :D)
the 20% proc rate seems about right for 2h weapons, i just tested it with 2x 1h and it feels like it just procs about the same amount as with 2h, even though you hit a lot more often
REMEMBER: Affliction and SPriest mastery has changed and dont increase shadow dmg anymore

I have to say the change to the racial is quite neat. With the cross-account achieves I have been thinking about leveling another hunter to see the cataclysm low level content changes and to possibly split my toons between pvp and pve with my new hunter being UD, this makes me feel happy with my choice of my 2nd hunter.

This spell is great in most situations, but extremely annoying when as a high level you're doing those low level quests that involve beating a mob down to low health but not killing it - that's already hard enough as a max level character, without this proccing and one-shotting the mob! Wtb a way to toggle off passives temporarily :-)

really helps in PvP situations or for locks when they cut themselves for mana.
Also, this has great synergy with shadow damage increasing abilities, such as the Unholy DK mastery.
Just from my own basic testing it seems that this has only a 15sec GCD.
EDIT: According to Meganew, this doesn't seem to have a GCD.
It will proc off of DOTs as well as direct damage.
Just keeping

Pretty consistently is about 5% of my overall DPS. (Measured with Recount).

For a race that's undead and partially rotten, they certainly have a good amount of healing! Though, I suppose thats actually very good, since many forms of conventional healing (i.e. The Light) burns them horribly.

Considering how this doesn't do enough damage to keep up with racials like berserking or epicurean (but of course! Blizzard introduced something new, of course it has to be unequivocally better than everthing else!), and there are plenty of dailies that involve pools and water, they should've let us keep Underwater Breathing along with this menial damage.

It should be noted that the heal effect that Touch of the Grave grants will not exceed the remaining life of the creature. This means that having it proc on a 5 hp critter, it will only grant you 5 hp regardless of how much damage it actually did.

I've spent a while testing this on training dummies and it almost certainly appears to have a 15s internal cooldown.

The damage is reduced by a PvP target's resilience. The heal amount is subsequently affected by healing debuffs including the flat 30% reduction in PvP.
Against a PvP target with 60% resilience a 14K base proc would do:
0.4*14000 = 5600 damage
0.7*5600 = 3920 healing

After doing a couple of LFR-runs, I have a bit of real-world numbers to share. 506ilvl Demo-lock
During 5min 38sec Ji-kun, the effect procced 17 times for a total of 335,5k dmg , ~990 dps.
During 7min 37sec Iron Qon, the effect procced 23 times for a total of 512,5k dmg, ~1120dps
During 8min 39sec Twin Consorts, the effect procced 28 times for a total of 600,9k dmg, ~1150dps
Rest of the bosses fit neatly between those three, so I think it's safe to say that this racial equals to anywhere between 900 to 1100dps. Not enough to make UD the best horde warlock, but deffo better than nothing.

I just tested this on an Undead Rogue spamming tab and the Throw spell, and timed a series of throw casts in which I have to say that I have found that the cooldown of this effect may very well be around 20 seconds. Is this further confirmable? Please give your input, if so. Throw has to be one of the quickest skills usable and if the specialization doesn't proc until about 20 seconds, it must be on a cooldown of around 20 seconds, however the chance of it proccing leads me to believe it may be more along the lines of 15 seconds?
I crunched the numbers of Delaxart's procs by discerning how long the the 338 seconds of the Ji-kun fight, the 457 seconds of the Iron Qon fight, and the 519 seconds of the Twin Consorts fight would reflect on the procs tallied up. Dividing the full of the length of the fights by 20 seconds, in comparison with the suggested amount of procs during each fight, I've found each and every number is nearly accurate. What I believe is that this specialization passive has an internal cooldown of 20 seconds, at least as far as my research has come to show.
Ji-kun: 338 (second long fight) divided by 20 (seconds between procs) = 16.9 possible procs ~17 procs as suggested~
Iron Qon: 457 (second long fight) divided by 20 (seconds between procs) = 22.85 possible procs ~23 procs as suggested~
Twin Consorts: 519 (second long fight) divided by 20 (seconds between procs) = 25.95 possible procs ~not as close to 28 procs as the previous 2 suggested fights, but a possible scenario was that Delaxart didn't land quite as many blows to the Twin Consorts during that 519 second long fight, and therefore had a few less procs~

Please uprate if the suspected idea of a 20 second internal cooldown has been further confirmed, and please leave feedback (but don't downrate, it doesn't help if the feedback isn't viewable by people) if you have some sort of theory to back this up, further confirm this suspicion, or disprove this theory. Thanks to all fellow WoWhead users, and happy trails as well as best of luck!

P.S.: As of now, wowhead has suggested that this passive has a proc chance of 20%; however, if the internal cooldown of 20 seconds also holds true, it may very well be affected by haste, whether it be at its base threshold of 0% haste, or with influence from gear; however that may be, I was In basic starter zone gear on the rogue I had done tests with, and unless rogues normally begin with slightly heightened haste to support their energy regeneration, I should not have had any major influences upon my data collection.

The wording suggests that it only procs off of an active ability, but I just confirmed with a rogue that it will proc off of auto attack as well. Also, I can confirm that the ICD (assuming there is one) is 16 seconds or less.

Has anybody noticed how in the tooltip, it is mentioned that shadow damage is dealt (and not in what form healing is received ); yet, if I were to copy and paste the lines of detail provided by wowhead, it would state that...:

Physical

Notice how wowhead recognizes the damage as physical, yet people have confirmed that the damage, and perhaps the healing in turn, is affected by shadow-damage influences? Perhaps it is just reading the healing bit of the tooltip as physical, where the damage is stated as shadow, yet that isn't specified, exactly.

This does damage now. Which is nice! But I find myself on a lvl 20 quest where I need to capture humans after bringing their life under 35%. I'm attacking unarmed and naked, hoping this doesn't proc and one shot my quest objectives. >.> This quest has taken me longer as a lvl 100 than it would have at lvl 20.
There doesn't seem to be a way to prevent this from one shotting low level enemies.

This is getting a nice buff to it come 6.2.2, allowing it to scale with 50% of either your attack power or spell power. This means that it will no longer get weaker as your gear gets stronger.

This Spell has I believe been buffed three times in WoD, why does Blizzard not make it scale with Attack Power instead going back to reconfigure the fixed value time and time again.
