Enchanting can be brutal to level. You are either shelling out literal
buttloads
of gold to buy and disenchant greens, or farming them yourself to disenchant. Then, you have to go through the grueling process of enchanting the same piece of armor up to 50 times for skillups, selling the rarely-used Old World/BC enchants for a pittance, or casting it on a vellum several times to post them up for sometimes weeks before they sell on the Auction House.
However, at the max skill level, it quickly becomes worth it with the 400 gold+ profits from a single Black Magic. And people will always need an Enchanter. Plus, the ring enchants aren't bad.

Enchanting isnt that hard on the pocket even at low levels. It just takes time.
you make a mint from looking for cheap greens on the AH and disenchanting them for profit. Even low level materials you aren't interested in. In this regard it is similar to a gathering profession.
Weapon disenchants get the most profit but armor is slow but sure. for instance you find a weapon green in the 41-45 lvl range this will give you a 75% chance of either 1 or 2 Nether Essences which will sell for 8-15g each. If you picked that weapon up for only 5 gold then woot thats a max 11-25 gold profit (2 NE) or 3-10 gold (1 NE).. if you are unlucky to get some dream dust from the disenchant (20% chance) you wont make a profit but with time you will easily be making enough cash to keep you trucking along and not wanting of money etc.
There are more tricks to get more cash but thats the general gist.

Enchanting isn't that hard, nor expensive to lvl. But it does take time. In adition to what told, you can easily make money by buying low lvl armor from ah (~ lvl 20), enchanting it and then reselling. Even if a piece of armor is useless, it can get quite powerfull with a proper enchant. Of course it's better to enchant items that are already good...
Well, that worked on the two servers I play on, one of which is highly and the other medium populated.

My best advice is to take Tailoring aswell, you can buy Linen cloth on AH very cheap and you can make greens at skill 40.. It goes good so your skill is high enough when you go for instances (dungeons).

Enchanting isn't really very brutal if you have a friend who happens to have plenty of Strange Dust laying around ^.^
And if you DE enough stuff, you got yourself a nice Strange Dust factory going, giving you plenty of mats to level.
And another tip: start early. In my personal opinion, starting when you're 80 just makes things harder, considering you have level 80 things to do and leveling enchanting from 1 to 450 can be a pain in the butt.
But in other respects, it makes things eaiser, considering you have plenty of money to buy all the mats off the AH.
It's your choice. But I started really early, about level 5-ish, and things have gone really well because I get some armor I don't need, and I can eaisly DE it.

Blacksmithing is not good paired with Enchanting, the Materials to make greens from Blacksmith are expensive, lots of ore, bars, and stones. Tailoring requires cloth, which can be picked up by anyone and sold cheap. The only thing that Enchanters will benefit from Blacksmith are their
Enchanting Rods
. Jewelcrafting isn't a bad idea, because like Tailoring, the equipment you make can be worn by anyone, as opposed to Blackmith, which is just Mail and Plate and some hard to make Weapons. Blacksmith at 400 grants 2 extra Gem sockets for Bracer and Gloves, while Enchanting allows you to enchant your rings, these don't match or go together in any way, my Priest has BS / JC and it's a perfect match, and I suggest Tailoring / Enchanting.
Inscription might not be a bad idea, if you have enough Herbs saved up. You can make
Armor Vellums
and also Shoulder Enchants which (like Leatherworking) can add valuable and flexible Enchanting options. You could make some serious money selling scrolls, and easy leveling for Enchanting too as you won't have to waste those enchants on useless Gear that you're going to end up vendoring.

in WOTLK cloth was in high demand and priced well beyond the value of disenchanted dust end essences. But leathers were cheap and required much less materials than cloth items, you could buy stacks of mats for LW and disenchant with a profit on my server. Others reported the same with JC. It was better to sell cloth drops, buy leathers for the money and DE leather gloves then tailor and DE. With the improvements to first aid DEers not only compete with the cloth demand for bags but for bandages as well.
Its hard to know in advance, it depends on how Blizzard balances the yield on the differnt gatering skills and material requirements for green items.
I say never take enchanting as a profession as you level 8or any other crafting profession for that matter) , take skinning and mining or herb for nobrainer cash. A lvl 80 has thousands of gold and can afford powerlevelling. Belive me, it took me more time to get to 300 in enchanting at about lvl 50 than to train those levels. All benefit was some crappy enchants and DEd soulbound equipment. Looking back as a lvl 80 it was the dumbest thing i ever did in WOW. And belive me, the competition for that position is very strong.

regardless of how much time or gold it takes to level this profession, enchanting, along with jewelcrafting are overall the most beneficial to your character and all other alts. think about it. every time you upgrade an item, youre going to need to enchant and gem it. well if you didnt have these professions, every single time you upgrade a cloak or some boots, youll have to go find an enchanter, and one, possibly 2 JCs if they dont have all the gems you need. that can be a real head ache. by having a JC and enchanter, youll never have to do this again for all the characters on the same server. and for your alts, well if your a tenacious planner, you could make every single gem and enchant you need for your lvl 76 balance druid, put the stuff into his bank, and then then 1 or 2 weeks later when you got some decent gear worth spending the gold on, youll have all the stuff ready that would have otherwise taken possibly hours to track down all the ppl to get if you had done it piece by piece with other peoples' professions.

How come on the profession of enchanting page it says 296 total recipes yet for my alt who is enchanting it says on the completion tracker 292 recipes total can learn but then a person on my server has 290 of 294 total learned. Was there some removed from game?

The only thing to know about enchanting is that it isnt a very good
starting
profession because it will cost you a good portion of money which on your first character you probably wont have and you wont have the benefit of a high level main to go grind a dungeon or two for you. Go with a gathering profession first and when you get to 80 switch to a crafting profession.

Spent around 16K to get Enchanting and on 525 now. But it looks that I made a wrong choice - scrolls just won't sell, and getting mats for resell isn't that easy!
I am wondering if it is possible to make money with Ench...
Added later:
Yes, it is bit better now, I just have to frequently check that my scrolls are the lowest priced...

Well, Enchanting is my primary gold mint. Haven't played since BC until starting with a fresh, never before played, Cata account. 25g start up gift from my brother. Now, at lvl 81 and Enchanting at 450, I have 2k gold on hand, 1000g inventory on AH, all flying mount upgrades (8-9k total there), a single player 'Guild' for a 2-tab storage 'Guild' bank and every piece of gear nicely enchanted throughout my leveling process. When I tab back into WoW, I'll post another 500g worth of enchants that will sell over the weekend.
My mats always come at far below AH 'market' cost. Beancounter report for sales, starting 12/21/10 through 01/29/11 of Enchants currently at +5340g. Sales of Essences +1589g. Dust +3277g. Shards are -81g, since I haven't farmed explicitly for them, but I think the paltry investment in those I've bought have probably more than paid for themselves. Sales of leather, since I took skinning as a Worgen to help at the very beginning, have totaled +1230g. As soon as I ding 85, I'm dropping skinning to take up another more lucrative, class empowering profession. As you see, I did not 'combine' professions and really, the most valuable part of skinning at this point for me is the crit bonus, but since I'm an Affliction Warlock this really is, for the most part, a wasted perk. The only other benefit to speak of with skinning, like other gathering professions, is that it requires no recepies or Rep grind, etc. to advance the skill itself.
In summary with one Character and a lot of time AFK:
Total time played: 15days, 5hrs, 41 minutes, 53 seconds.
Total gold acquired: 24612g
Gold Earned from Auctions: 19549g
Get Auctioneer and figure out yourself how to make 10kg a month from Enchanting alone as your Primary Profession...

I agree this profession can sometimes be a money pit. And sometimes you can sell enchanting mats at great markups, but I found it hard to make a lot of money off selling enchants while leveling up.
It is also a very hard profession to grind below 85 (unlike, say, mining) , but it is very good complimenting another crafting profession if you can get mats for it. It does become quite slow though once you hit the cap and the steady flow of quest greens suddenly stops.

It is possible to make money being an enchanter but you have to be so diligent at it to stay ahead. The primary problem that we run into is that we have no restricted mats like a lot of other professions have. You can roll into an instance and your DE service is available for everyone to profit from. We can't control the goods for our profession (like orbs needed for others) or engineering which only you can do or mining a boss/node in an instance where only the miner gets items. We essentially have to compete against anyone for mats. If we work on tips our mats are so easy to come by yet expensive that we get tipped around 10g (or you can insist on a price but that is hard when someone else won't do that) you can try to keep rare patterns but instead of being able to farm out a rare pattern now we mostly have to invest tons of gold to get random world drop patterns. I can try and make scrolls but with the everyone being able to come by mats you not only have to price against the scrolls out there but also against the raw mat cost (hence why you have to be on top of things) I just wish that certain high end enchants used runed orbs or something where we could control the enchants and charge tons of gold like other people do.

currently have a DK & Warlock at 85 which I use to farm for my army of alts.
Warrior - Mining + BS
Shaman - Mining & JC
Rogue - Herbing & Alchemy
Priest - Tailoring & Enchanting
Huntard - Skinning & LW
all 5 alts are levelling through the same bracket (currently mid 30s) & are complimentary regards skills, profs etc. I tend to farm Vanilla instances on the DK & send over any BoE to the enchanter to DE & then make enchants for the other alts. Never had to buy anything from AH

Low-Mid level enchanting leveling is pretty easy compared to other crafts.
I just went 0-300 on one of my alts and here are several reasons why it's been a lot easier:
1. You can DE all of the green/blue junk you pick up question and raiding, as well as the items your other characters are making in their own professions. With a couple of other alts feeding in the goodies, you get TONS of mats - and if they're not the ones you need, sell on AH and get the ones you need.
2. You can be basically immobile the whole time - parked in a capital city. No need to run around the map digging things up or skinning, etc.
3. There are always more cheap greens on the AH than there are mats for other professions (leather, anyone?). Unlike any other profession it is always possible to turn money into materials. Everyone else's products (items) are your source of materials.
4. Twice as many AH options to get materials. If you're a blacksmith and Thorium is 5g/piece on your AH you have to either have mining and travel to Uron'Goro Crater and start digging or pay the man. But if you're an enchanter and Magic Essence is pricey on AH, you can just buy cheap items instead and DE them OR you can quest/raid in the right level areas and DE the gear.
When I'm playing a Blacksmithing alt, nothing he gets or produces is useful to my Leatherworking alt's profession. But EVERYONE produces something useful for Enchanters.
Maybe it gets rough after 300 but up to now it's been a breeze.

I chose to level Enchanting about a week ago and I just reached level 300, I have spent upwards of 3,000 gold (and that's even spending a lot of time farming mats to DE) my server is a bit underpopulated so I'm not sure if that plays a role but the prices of enchanting mats are just ridiculous. 60 gold for 1 large brilliant shard, Dust stacks upwards of 100 gold, The rods upwards of 400g... This profession is definitely not for the people who just want to spend a couple thousand gold to max out quick. I hope the payoff is good when I finally get up around max level.

This profession goes very well with Tailoring. At lower levels, my strategy was to farm Skull Rock for Linen Cloth so I could make low level greens, and then promptly disenchanting them. It's a strategy that takes a little bit of time, but in the long run, it works out well.

I'm currently sitting at 333/350 enchanting recipes available in game right now. Yes, some recipes are no longer available anymore, for those of you asking. ex.
Formula: Brilliant Mana Oil and Formula: Brilliant Wizard Oil bought from Rin'wosho the Trader. Also, Enchant Weapon: Executioner. Sad, I know. I wanna'em all.

I think Enchanting is the most difficult profession to skill. I spent lots of gold to max it. The best profession to pair with is Tailoring. You can create green items and disenchant them. You can do the same with Blacksmithing and Leatherworking, but you need gathering professions with these two.
But when you max it and buy all formulas for max level, you will be rewarded for your effort. For example, on my realm, you can buy everything you need to create Power Torrent and still make nice amount of gold. Stat benefit is good too. Enchant on each ring is good enough. And when you get some new item, you can disenchant the old one and make some money. Without enchanting, you could sell it to vendor, what is totally useless.

I wish I'd read this earlier...because I'm trying to level enchanting behind my current level on my warrior...
This is painful, currently I feel like i'd straight up murder someone if I thought i'd get some infinite dust or cosmic essences out of it.
The only saving grace...I have a leatherworker alt who can make stuff for me to d/e...

What is the minimum level that you have to reach to be a 525 enchanter? I have an alt that is at 400 and I am not really interested in leveling it to 85....
Edit: From what I can tell you have to be at level 70 to reach max levels in all of the professions, enchanting included.

As far as I understand, the best way to make money with Enchanting is to sell scrolls. This is especially true on realms that are less populated, since there are not many maxed Enchanters around. Up until now, the scrolls I find that sell fast are:
附魔武器 - 能量洪流
,
附魔武器 - 山崩
,
附魔胸甲 - 无双属性
. And also, the rare world drop formulas:
公式:附魔护腕 - 敏捷
,
公式:附魔护腕 - 特效力量
,
公式:附魔护腕 - 极效智力
.
The best time to list your auctions is perhaps around Tuesday, when raid/LFR resets. The only people who would buy scrolls are the impatient ones, and you got to take advantage of that.

Must have macro for power leveling:
#showtooltip
/run CloseTradeSkill()
/cast Enchanting
/run local s for i=1,GetNumTradeSkills() do s=GetTradeSkillSelectionIndex() if s then DoTradeSkill(s) end end
/use 0 1
/script ReplaceEnchant()
Place the piece of armor in the first bag slot, highlight the enchanting skill you want to repeatedly apply and press the button. It automatically disregards the "do you want to replace X enchant with Y?".
Thanks goes to hamdroids

Would a combination of Alchemy & Enchanting be good. Alchemy for making money with Truegold transmutes, to pay for the items needed for enchanting, since there is severely nothing worse than having to play guess the instance's drop's item level. Plus with making money with alchemy to buy the enchanting ingredients would in theory save time.

Automatic Enchanting Macro!
Growing tired of clicking the enchant button and then having to click on the vellum for every enchant? Well look no further than this wonderful macro! Here is the code:
#showtooltip
/cast Enchanting
/run local s for i=1,GetNumTradeSkills() do s=GetTradeSkillInfo(i) if (s=="Enchant Bracer - Strength") then DoTradeSkill(i) end end
/use Enchanting Vellum
/run CloseTradeSkill()
Here is a summary of what this macro does:
Opens the enchanting window
Presses the enchant button on the specified enchantment
Uses an
enchanting vellum
Closes the enchanting window
The only part you need to edit is:
"Enchant Bracer - Strength"
Type in the enchant that you are going to be using inside the quotes then press save. Then all you have to do is make sure you have
enchanting vellums
in your inventory.
This is a very awesome way to cast the same enchant without a bunch of clicking.
Note: This happens so fast, all you will hear is the open and closing of the skill window!

I only have two maxed out professions Enchanting and BS. As far as making money Enchanting has earned me tens of thousands of more Gold than BS.
That being said leveling enchanting was MUCH more
Expensive than BS.
A general question to other enchanters, what have you found to be some of your best selling enchants?
Personally, Pre patch 4.3, which changed everything. I'd make a consistent flow of cash (apart from selling dusts, essences, shards, etc) from Enchant Weapon: Firey, radiant shards were cheap as chips and no-one else even bothered to sell them, as they would only go for about 60 gold, but I'd sell between 2-5 per day, which added up.
Lifestealing was also another enchant that no one bothered selling, even though there was a slow but steady demand, roughly 140 gold, with one selling every day or so.
Since the patch, the world has turned on its head. My main money maker is Enchant Chest Mighty stats (+20 all stats) selling between 200-300 gold, not much compared to the big hitter enchants that can net in the thousands, but these just fly out the door, weekdays 2-5 per day, weekends 5-15, now that adds up.
What I have found is that the top weapon enchants, Landslide, Power Torrrent, etc, will sell eventually and for a decent price, but they can take days to shift and it's a constant battle with the other one or two that are selling them to remain the lowest priced one, it's so annoying as the undercutting is usually a silver, which is good as it keeps the prices where they should be, but it takes up chunks of time dealing with this.
Most Mastery Enchants sell ok, Peerless Stats sells fast, but profit margin is not great.
I've avoided Agi and Haste enchants, until now. The reason is because I rolled a hunter for the first time and suddenly see the dire need for such enchants, especially weapon enchants.
Apart from the obvious Agi weapon enchant, which is probation he best. I've been looking for other proc related enchants for ranged weapons. Two I've found, but not tested on the AH are Weapon: Black Magic, as it applies to all weapons, including ranged ones and Avalanche. Both lower level enchants, but could be valuable to a rich player who wants to deck out their alt.
Anywho, would love to hear about other people's experiences selling enchants. What are your bread and butter money makers? Do you always have a highevel enchant on the AH? Are there good selling enchants that no-one else seems to be tapping into?

It's worth nothing that you can level your enchanting from 1-75 simply by disenchanting items. After 75 you can no longer get a skill from it. But saving up your materials until you have gotten a fair bit of skill out of simply disenchanting is a nice way to jump start leveling this profession.

In MoP, it looks like all the enchanting mats for the expansion will be able to be converted from one to the other by Enchanters. This is good; no mats will be wasted, and all mats will be linked to one another in price, loosely. It works like this:
Spirit Dust
will convert to
Mysterious Essence
, which will convert to
Ethereal Shard
, all at a ratio of 5:1, via
this
and
this
.
Going in the other direction doesn't yield as many, however; a shard yields
just three
essences, and an essence yields
just three
dust.
Converting upwards, you can make an Ethereal shard with 25 dust, but converting a shard down to dust yields just 9 dust.
Sha Crystals
work slightly differently. They can be broken down into shards at a ratio of 1 to 2 via
this
, but the only way to convert up to them is with
this
, which as you'll notice has a one-day cooldown (presumable resetting at midnight like the Cata Alchemy transmutes).
This is, IMHO, a fantastic design. First of all, we won't have two hundred million stacks of dust sitting on the AH and never selling, thank the Titans.
This also means that the price of an Ethereal Shard will pretty much always be worth more than nine dusts, but never worth more than 25 of them. It also means that the price of dust will be pulled UP by the price of shards more often than the other way around. Dusts will likely hover around 1/25 of the price of a shard, and essences will likely hover around 1/5 of a shard.
And with the way the Sha Crystals are set up, the price of Shards will be pulled up by the demand for Crystals, which are always the most sought-after, especially in the beginning of the xpac. Shards will probably go for a bit less than 1/5 of a crystal, since converting them upwards into crystals will be limited by to one per day per Enchanter. And because of that cooldown, the price of Crystals will stay high enough to be profitable, without being nearly as preposterously overpriced as they were at the beginning of Cataclysm.
And best of all: Every single conversion will be performed by an Enchanter. The Enchanters will make money from regulating the prices of the mats, to everyone's benefit.
Thank you, Blizzard. You nailed it.

All resist (shadow/arcane/resist all, etc) enchants have been removed from my Beta chanter's list, and have not been replaced with anything else. If you are farming for any rare resist enchants..you might want to save your time/gold.

Here's a question to anyone currently in MoP beta: How are the visual effects of weapon enchants comparable to Cataclysm ones? While in Cata the effects on their own look great, they are too overbearing and flashy and most importantly consume your weapon of choice making it barely distinguishable.
I am hoping that effects in MoP are toned down and made more subtle, because it's not too much to ask to be able to see your weapon in all of it's glory, is it?

I've really worked hard on Enchanting. I started early. I started a second character simply to get more things to disenchant.
My character is now at level 60 and stuck in the outland. It has enchanting 250, but only about 80g so it can't buy the necessary licences for flying. It isn't just buying stuff, it's mainly the loss of gold from selling equipment.
Enchanting seems to have been fiddled with so much, by Blizzard, that it is now impossible.
I intend to abandon enchanting altogether now. It just isn't viable.

Would Enchanting be good with Jewelcrafting? To enchant and gem? I really need the money from selling mats on the AH from de and selling enchants on
Enchanting Vellum. I can farm mats for my lvl60 death knight because my Hunter is lvl90. All I need is to see if it is a good profession combo. Is it good for a Hunter?

This whole scaling enchant system that's been implemented in 5.4 makes this a useless profession for leveling. None of the enchants are very good at the level you are at, mostly only good as an endgame and selling to twinks (20-24 bracket) professsion now.

Beware that this table won't show the exact demand as some classes been given a choice between several enchants while others only have one mandatory enchant. Windsong, for example, is listed for a lot of classes, but for most it's not the best enchant - it's just given as a cheaper alternative. Also the dual-wielding classes only give +1 in the table. There is also no mention of PvP enchants here. Despite all this I believe there is a strong correlation between these numbers and actual demand in the AHs and it might be useful for other beginner enchanters.

Hello!
I have leveled a good amount of enchanters, and I have always been frustrated by how annoying the process was in general. Clicking on the enchant spell, then the item to be enchanted, and then a confirmation was an arduous task that took way too much time. So, I began to look for a new method to blast through those enchanting levels.
First, I recommend you use a profession guide to give you ideas on which enchants you will need to create.
Then, you need to open up your macro creation window by typing /m in the in-game chat.
Select the 'new' button to begin creating your enchanting macro. You can name it whatever you desire.
Enter the following macro:
#showtooltip
/run CloseTradeSkill()
/cast Enchanting
/run local s for i=1,GetNumTradeSkills() do s=GetTradeSkillSelectionIndex() if s then DoTradeSkill(s) end end
/use 0 8
/script ReplaceEnchant()
Note that the 5th line of the macro tells it where the item to select is located. It is 0 8 for me, because it is the first row but the eighth column that holds my Enchanting Vellum.
Vellums placed before the selected position will be used before the specified stack (ie. I have seven stacks of vellum in each column of the first row. Each one of these stacks will be used before the 0 8 positioned stack).
Place the macro button on your action bars.
Open up the Enchanting profession window and select the enchant that you want to create.
This macro REQUIRES the enchantment to be selected.
Keep pressing your macro button until you get to the desired skill level, or when you have enough of that certain enchantment.
Obviously the most important step: keep being awesome!
As another quick sidenote, make sure that you continue to visit your enchanting trainer to level up to the next tier of skill. I was standing right next to the guy; yet, I still managed to keep making enchants long after the skill was capped. It was a waste of materials and time. That's what you get for watching Youtube =)

How to save money when you level enchanting:
I'm in the midst of levelling Enchanting for a new toon, and a lot of the "guides" out there frustrated me, typically only listing the most obvious/direct ways to level, without regards to cost efficiency. I decided to do some research on how to save money, and now I'm sharing what I've learned with you.
*Disclaimer* I'm on a high pop server and your results may vary.
1.) 1 - 135
奇异之尘
and
次级魔法精华
can be purchased from any Enchanting Supplies vendor for 8s only. Park a bunch of alts next to the vendors and login every 10 minutes or so. AH and Bank Alts are perfect for this.
Also, 2nd and 3rd tier cities are more likely to have these in stock. SW or Ogrimmar are sold out frequently, while Darnassus and Thunder Bluff almost always have them in stock.
Stockpile a large amount of both (240+
奇异之尘
and 150+
次级魔法精华
) and then use the following recipes:
1 - 2
符文铜棒
2 - 80
初级生命
80 - 100
初级耐力
100 - 135
初级敏捷
Despite the large numbers, it'll only cost you around 30g to level from 1 - 135, not too shabby.
2.) 275 - 320
This section can be very arduous, requiring large amounts of:
Dream Dust
and
奥法之尘
Far better to camp
琦亚
in Winterspring for
公式:附魔胸甲 - 特效生命
, which only requires:
2x
小块魔光碎片
, which can be as low as 50s.
3.) 330 - 350
Check your AH for the price of
大块棱光碎片
and
强效位面精华
and/or
次级位面精华
护甲
, requiring:
1x
大块棱光碎片
and 4x
次级位面精华
may be cheaper than the alternatives listed in the usual guides.
4.) 360 - 426
Check the AH for the price of
强效宇宙精华
. Depending on the server,
强效宇宙精华
may be vastly cheaper than
无限之尘
. For example,
无限之尘
on my high pop server typically costs 2-3g, while
强效宇宙精华
can start as low as 0.5g.
If
强效宇宙精华
is much cheaper than
无限之尘
, then use the following recipes for 360 - 426
360 - 370
优异法术强度
370 - 375
超级属性
375 - 395
采集
395 - 407
极效生命
Grants 3x skill ups!
407 - 410
极效生命
again, but only 1x skill up
410 - 426
精确
Grants 4x skill ups!
Using this method cost me less than 60g to level from 360 - 426!
5.) 450 - 470
Depending on your server,
催眠之尘
and
强效天界精华
could be VERY expensive (10g+ for both on mine!). If so, check the price of
深渊水晶
. It may be far cheaper to use the following:
450 - 470
特效耐力
, which is bought using 5x
深渊水晶
from the Enchating Supplies vendor in Dalaran.
To give an example, using
急速
to get from 455 - 470 would cost approximately 30-40 g per skillup on my server.
However,
特效耐力
, even including the cost of the 5x
深渊水晶
recipe cost, would only cost around 12-15g per skillup.

I decided to level up some professions on one of my 90s who I was lazy and never did this with seriously.
As some have said, enchanting and tailoring go together very well. Farm level appropriate instances (which at 90 is a doddle) for the appropriate cloths, craft them into things to level your tailoring and then disenchant them for mats to level enchanting with. Farming instances will also get you more than average item drops which you can also de.
Before you know it your bank alt will have more inventory to auction than you know what to do with so you'll also be turning a profit.

PS: Higher skill makes you get more mats from daily crafts.

Are we no longer able to enchant our rings with the coming of 6.0.2?
I just purchased
Formula: Enchant Ring - Minor Intellect
and
Formula: Enchant Ring - Stats
(I swear,
re
-purchased!) and get told "The spell is not available to you" when I try to learn them.
Any suggestions?
The "Professional Perks" section at the top of this page still lists primary stat ring enchants -- in my case Intellect and "all stats". Is this page simply out of date and I missed completely word of this changing in WoD?

Am I the only enchanter slightly miffed that Inscription got to make wands, despite Enchanting being the profession that was previously able to make wands? Especially after the question was asked by an enchanter at Blizzcon and the devs were not against it (being able to make wands again).
In any case Enchanting is now the only "crafting" profession that cannot contribute towards the monument achievement!

Enchanting remains the most expensive profession to level, let alone max out recipes. After almost 400 game days played there are still about 10 recipes I need but their drop rate is so low and their auction house cost so great that I have effectively put completing all recipes at the very bottom of my priority list of things to do.

I'm new to enchanting and I have a question. I've leveled everything up to 700 and I have the ability to enchant. I just can't do anything. If I go to stormshield and go to BOB, I can't buy anything..... What am I'm missing? It looks like a book or a tome, or something else. I can't find it on the auction house either. So, yes, I'm a noob, and need help.
Thanks.

I’ve been playing WoW for a number of years, my main - a hunter recently turned 8 calender years old and in that time I’ve had a few different professions. Started out skinning and leatherworking but I was finding better gear then I could make. Changed to mining and engineering, I could make my own ammo but along came Cata and ammo was no longer needed. It was during the pre-patch event (Rise/Rage of the Elements I think it was called) that helped me decide to make the change to Enchanting. I was out killing the elementals when I got buffed for killing so many so quickly (ten in a minute or some such thing) when I picked up a hour long buff. As I was slaying the fire’s between Loch Modan and the Badlands I had gotten Fiery Weapon and yes my bow glowed fire and YES it proc’d - it showed up in both WoW’s combat log and on my DPS meter when I relized what was going on I headed back to town and spent almost 40 minutes at a target dummy and it proc’d about 40/45% of the time (adding some considerable fire damage). I thought FINALLY Blizzard will let us hunters have the choice between some crappy scope and a weapon enchant (be honest - compare what you get from a scope and what you get from an enchant, the enchant wins IMO hands down) and lets not forget the cool weapon glow too. With transmog my bow looks like the heirloom and I really REALLY want to see that with fiery weapon on it.
So to sum up that windy little rant - Hey Blizzard it’s way past time you let hunters enchant their weapons like EVERYONE else in the game! Is there a second on this motion?

If you're just starting to level enchanting, and you're in the 90+ levels, you can use the profession random drop from WoD to upgrade your enchanting to WoD levels, which gives you access to the recipes and is useable at any Enchanting level. Using WoD recipes levels your Enchanting faster than farming for lower level mats, as the daily to make a Temporal Crystal gives +10 levels; the Luminous Shard recipe needed to make them is spammable and gives +1, only requires 20 Draenic Dust and is received from most green or blue disenchantable WoD items.
Several of the WoD Garrison buildings can help, too, such as the merchant building, which you can buy Draenic Dust from using Garrison points, or the logging building, which can help you more quickly gain garrison points, with the downside being that it requires you to go out and find trees to log. The enchanting building seems like a good choice, and allows you to buy other recipes, but the cost of some of the recipes is 5 Secrets of Draenor Enchanting, which may only require 3 Draenic Dust, but it only raises your Enchanting by 1 level and you would be better off saving the mats for the Luminous Shards and Temporal Crystals, as you raise more levels in a faster period of time. The recipes that can be bought generally aren't used anymore and require Sorcerous Air / Sorcerous Fire / Sorcerous Water / Sorcerous Earth which you get from professions/profession buildings, or a vendor that you can only buy one per 15 Primal Spirit. Enchanting Temporal Crystals or creating orders in the Enchanting Hut in your Garrison has a chance to give you Sorcerous Air and Sorcerous fire.
Rather than buy a new recipe you can use your Temporal Crystals on the Mark of the Shattered Hand recipe, which automatically comes from the WoD Enchanting random drop and only costs 1 Temporal Crystal.

I'm trying to understand the difference in the proc rates for the old enchants which list the effects triggering "sometimes, often, occasionally, etc" Does anyone have any idea what the actual number are for these, or even a range of how often the effects should be applied?
Thanks for any help

In World of Warcraft Classic, it's very hard to max out your profession. Wrong selection of recipes that we should follow has a negative impact and can cost us a lot: (That's why I have prepared a guide here, it may be useful to someone -

so in latest expac 10.0 as a L60 i have 100 enchanting skill and while it's an option for enchanting to use the vellum, when I try to use the vellum, it says item is too low level. What gives? Cant ask a gamemaster anymore, so this is my only resource. Tried googling around, but find no mention of it.

BIG NOTE TO ENCHANTERS:
If you ever have a DF
(or maybe older?)
recipe that will not allow you to enchant it on an
附魔羊皮纸
,
check the spell's tooltip/recipe to see what item it affects.
Example:
If the recipe is for a weapon enchant,
REMOVE YOUR EQUIPPED WEAPON
. Then try to enchant the
附魔羊皮纸
.
After success then don't forget to re-equip as some people may accidentally disenchant or sell their "junk gear" in their bags and POOF goes your needed gear!
SUB-NOTE: This answers many of the similar questions posted below. While some spells may still be glitching on/off, this seems to fix most of those error messages.
