Gear and Stat Prioritization
As priests we wear cloth. Our primary stat is Intellect.
Our secondary stat priority is this:
Haste > Crit > Mastery > Versatility > Intellect
Critical Strike: Chance for extra effectiveness on attacks and heals.
Haste: Increases attack speed and spell casting speed.
Mastery: Increases the effectiveness of
Versatility: Increases damage and healing, and reduces damage taken
Tier 19 set:
Two piece bonus:
Vampiric Touch generates 1 Insanity each time it deals damage.
Four piece bonus:
For 2.5 sec after activating Voidform, the cooldown on Void Bolt is reduced by 100%.
Tier 20 set:
Two piece bonus:
Mind Flay damage increases the damage of your next Mind Blast by 3% and its Insanity generation by 1. Stacks up to 10 times.

Pre-Raid BIS List
Raid BIS List
All tests were done using several different fight types and fight lengths. If you're not sure about a trinket being an upgrade for you, use
Due to tianforging and different rolls on certain gear, a BIS list is almost impossible. If in doubt use these pawn strings to see if something is better suited for you:
Disclaimer: Stat weights are different for each individual player because gear, legendaries, and talents all affect them. The below stat weights should work well for most players as a general guideline to find upgrades. If you want to get more advanced and use precise stat weights for your character, you would have to simulate it yourself. See Wowhead's guide on how to get your own personal stat weights.
If you have questions about stat weights, please visit:
Raid Stat Weights
( Pawn: v1: "AS T20 below 13k haste": Intellect=1, MasteryRating=1.13, HasteRating=1.8, CritRating=1.51, Versatility=1.13 )
( Pawn: v1: "AS T20 above 13k haste": Intellect=1, MasteryRating=1.15, HasteRating=1.67, CritRating=1.55, Versatility=1.16 )
Mythic Dungeon Stat Weights:
( Pawn: v1: "Shadow - Dungeon - AS": Intellect=1, HasteRating=1.2, MasteryRating=1.38, CritRating=1.25, Versatility=0.96 )
( Pawn: v1: "Shadow - Dungeon - SL": Intellect=1, HasteRating=1.02, MasteryRating=1.44, CritRating=1, Versatility=0.96 )
How to determine upgrades
Let's say you have an 860 ilvl Mind Blast Relic and you then get an 865 Shadow Word: Pain Relic (assume 1 weapon iLvL). In this situation we have:
Mind Blast Relic = 0.29 + 0 (baseline) = 0.29
Shadow Word: Pain Relic = 1.05 + 0.42 (+1 ilvl) = 1.47
So, in this case, the Shadow Word: Pain relic is significantly better than the Mind Blast one
Alternatively, you can use
sheet to calculate it.
Finding Gear on Wowhead
From simple recommendations to advanced filters, Wowhead can help you find the gear you want.
I created the above lists using
set of filters.
Choose what item category, gear slot, and class specialization you're interested in, and it will return results for you. You can further narrow it down by source--including gear from LFR and heroic dungeons.
is a great way to search for gear if you are new to Wowhead's filtering system.
You can find the Item Finder via Tools > Item Finder or Database > Items > Item Finder.
returns personalized gear suggestions for you and shows which content has the most upgrades.
Simply load up the
with you preferred character and it will list gear recommendations in a 20 ilvl range for you. It will also list how many gear upgrades each boss has so you can plan out bonus rolls. Finally, the character planner will perform an audit and let you know if you have any missing enchants, glyphs, or gems.
If you have a character in our
which is great for tracking vanity collections and viewing your character in our 3D modelviewer, you can click on the "Planner" button in the header to access the tool. If you don't, you can just enter your information in at Tools > Character Planner.
Wowhead utilizes a powerful system of item filters to narrow down the gear you need.
, you can enter in some basic options at the top--the name of the item, its item level, the level the players needs to be. The "Usable by" dropdowns cover factions, class, and role.
The dropdown menu right above "Stat Weights" opens to display a variety of advanced options. These cover the following:
General item info such as Added in Expansion/Patch, BoE/BoP, Unique-Equipped, Class-Specific.
Stats: All primary stats, secondary stats, defensive stats, and weapon stats.
Source: All in-game sources, ranging from raid difficulties to the Black Market Auction House to sold by a vendor.
Miscellaneous: Many of these filters are not relevant to equippable gear such as Crafting Reagents and Toys, but you can filter for items that are currently obtainable.
Once you've selected a filter from the menu, click on Apply filter for search results. You can repeat the process to filter for multiple criteria at once--for example, Agility gear that is found in Mythic Foundry.
Over on the right-hand side of the page, you can select a particular Gear Slot or Quality to narrow results even further.
Finally, you can quickly view a subset of items at once using the Database Menus. Head to Database > Items and mouseover the Weapon and Armor options for quick links to gear arranged by armor type and slot.
