Basic Mouseover Macro
Allows you to cast a spell on an ally by hovering over their raid frame and hitting the associated keybind. Replace “SPELL” with a spell name.
How to Make a Macro
To open up the Macro menu, type "/macro" or "/m".
Choose between the "General" and Character-specific macro tabs. Then click on the "New" button on the macro window.
Choose a Name and an Icon so you can easily recognize your macro, then click on "Okay."
Select your macro's icon from the list at the top of the macro window, and then click in the text area below. Type or copy/paste your macro into the text area.
When you are finished, click the "Save" button, and to close the window, click "Exit".
The primary addon for any healer is their raid frames. There are several good raid frame addons available. The differences come down to personal preference. Personally, I use VuhDo, but any of the following are acceptable:
Easily one of the most important addons in the game. Allows you to do almost anything, ranging from alerting you of a debuff or tracking raid wide cooldowns. Most high level guilds require this addon so their players can import custom made strings for particular bosse.
WeakAuras on Wowhead
WeakAuras is a handy addon that flashes a useful alert onto your screen related to important abilities--cooldowns, durations, etc. However, it can be tricky to configure especially if you're new to it, so we've set up basic Weak Aura customizations for every player spell, including intelligent default auras.
Just visit a spell page (
) and click on the red "WeakAuras Export" button to open the panel up. Click "Copy" for our default aura, or "Customize" to easily change your alerts!
