Protection Video Guide for Patch 7.1.5!
What's new in Patch 7.2?
The major additions for Patch 7.2 are 4 new traits, an infinite trait (
) that grants a Versatility proc with ~23% uptime, and the ability to put a fourth point into your existing 3-point traits. There are also a few pertinent balancing changes to Legendaries!
Here is a quick overview of the new traits:
is the first new trait. It's great!
is the new minor trait. It will noticeably reduce autoattack damage intake. It's alright.
substantially. Pretty good!
is the last new trait. It provides good damage reduction against targets that will be alive for a while. Simple, but helpful.
is a random Versatility proc. It can only be unlocked once you have put 4 points into every single minor trait in the tree.
Here is a breakdown on what's new with Legendaries in Patch 7.2:
has been added to the game! It is a crafted Legendary belt, with decent itemization, and really helpful effects for world questing, dungeons, and even raids! It's a decent middle-of-the-pack option, particularly due to the three sockets.
Now causes Shield Slam to generate 2 additional Rage. Not a huge change, but it's nice.
Reduces the cooldown of Demoralizing Shout by 3 seconds for each target hit with Thunder Clap, up from 1 second each. A huge buff to a good belt.
now also have Versatility, pushing these from "very good" to "great!"
have had Crit added to them, and now can scale from whichever is highest of Haste, Crit, Mastery, or Versatility.
7.2 added Versatility. It's better, but still not great.
