The following races can play a Paladin: Blood Elf, Draenei, Dwarf, Human, Tauren.
Paladin can use Shields, Polearms, 1H/2H Axes, Swords, and Maces.
Iconic Protection Paladin abilities:
: Increases damage reduction from Shield of the Righteous by 4%, and increases your chance to block melee attacks by 8%. Also increases your attack power by 8%.

Consecration increases the effect of Shield of the Righteous and Light of the Protector by an additional 10%.
Four piece bonus:
Shield of the Righteous has a 25% chance to reset the cooldown on Light of the Protector.
Tier 20 set:
Two piece bonus:
Judgment has a 30% chance to reset the cooldown of Avenger's Shield.
Four piece bonus:
Enemies hit by Avenger's Shield deal 5% reduced damage to you for 10 sec.

Legion Tanking Overview
: A classic holy warrior who combines light magic and a shield to defend themselves and allies. A protection paladin excels at timing their defenses precisely, weaving in intricate rotation of spells to protect themselves and allies.
: Protection paladin resources are unique in that while they have mana, it isn’t important for their primary spells. Instead, most of their abilities are cooldown limited, like
, and some of those cooldowns are reduced by other abilities, like
, which is a short-lasting but powerful damage reduction tool.
