Rare mob found in Vale of Eternal Blossoms.
He's a Pandaren Monk with just over 4 million HP.
Watch out for his spinning crane kick and chi burst. Think he had some healing spell aswell...

Frankly, he's one of the hardest rare elites to solo. The Chuck Norris spinning kicks are deadly but his Chi Burst damage is also high enough. In addition, he heals himself up for an amount of ~50% of his original HP if you're slacking on interrupts.
He can be found in the cave below Tu Shen Burial Ground, the coords for the entrance are 41.1, 68.5.

This mob can be very hard to solo. Only interrupts will truly stop his heal (stunning just buys you a few extra seconds) but there are occasions that instead of alternating between Spinning Crane Kick and Healing Mists (I assume a Pandaren Champion's intended behavior), he will immediately try to heal again after being silenced. So watch out for that.
Silencing Shot must not be even acting as a standard interrupt with lockout, because the Pandaren rares only seem to exhibit the chain-heal behavior when I use Silencing Shot to interrupt them. They act as intended for my friends, of course, so it's hard to convince people that I'm not going crazy.
EDIT ADD: SIlencing Shot is MM now, and I am unsure if it still exhibits this behavior. The hunter base Counter Shot works fine, in any case.
Advice for hunters: use a Nether Ray. The extra interrupt is very nice. Take it off auto-cast, of course.
Pets don't take terrible damage from Spinning Crane Kick, so let them eat it, and save all of your utility for heals.
Unfortunately Spinning Crane Kick was changed to ignore pet Avoidance and will certainly kill your pet. Spec pet Ferocity for Heart of the Phoenix, pop every cooldown on engage and burst.

Just solo'd this guy with my ilvl 438 Arms Warrior
Be ready to outrun his Kick, if necessary Heroic Leap away.
Then Charge back on him and keep your Pummel for Healing Mist.
DONT BE TOO FAR AWAY AFTER HIS KICK, if he casts his Chi Burst you have to be in range to Charge Stun him (not sure if you can reflect). If you get hit, you die.
Loot: Cloak and bag
Was fun and took me about 6 deaths to figure things out.

Solo'd as a BM hunter. You really need the extra interrupts - Silencing shot, scatter shot, intimidation - make sure you use them on time and keep mending your pet. I also had Glyph of Mending to make sure my pet could stand in the spinning crane kick and not die.

Was able to solo as a 90 Fury Warrior, in only quest gear.
People seem to forget that you can switch talents on the go now, and that was the case with me. Having only a charge stun, it made fighting him much harder. I got angry and looked for more stuns, finally switching to Stormbolt and Shockwave.
He hits like a noodle and wont kill you as long as you have the Second Wind Talent.
With those two stuns, he is cake. For the most part, you can stay in the little enclosed area he spawns in with little worry if you work your abilities right. Interrupt his heal, which your pummel should be able off cooldown by the time he casts it again. when he casts his kick, wait for it to go off then hit him with Shockwave or Stormbolt. I want to say that there is a DR with the stuns, so you may want to switch one time of shockwave/stormbolt with a heroic leap and charge, to allow the DR to fall off.
Rinse and repeat and you shall have yourself a dead rare in no time.

I highly recommend speccing into

If you gouge him right after he finished casting his

Just soloed him as an affliction warlock with 457 item level..
i recommend taking dark bargain and grimore of service... and starting with the void walker and using shadowfury on his crane and porting the next one..
i started the fight letting my pet go in and i dark souled and haunted and put a full row of dots up.. and once he got to about 3.2m he healed so i used my grimore of service. to interupt the first heal... and spam drain soul to keep dots haunt and pet heals going and having shards to change to fel hunter... on the second heal i soulburned a felhunter and interupted it..
at this point you will have to kite the crane because your pet isnt tanking it.. i recommend hitting dark bargain and healthstoning and spamming drain life to live the chi blast and repeating this until you find the right pattern to get him.
hope this helps..

So you can't me in melee or else you get killed yet you can't be out of melee or you get one shot and the crane kick follows you even if you do move so GG cloth classes that can't use a pet tank.

All Pandaren rares use the same set of abilities.
Chi Blast is a lethal ranged attack that can potentially one-shot a same level character depending on maximum health. It can be interrupted, but it's far better to completely avoid the ability altogether by staying within 15 yards of the Pandaren. As long as you do not move further than 15 yards from the caster, they will simply never use it.
Healing Mists is an interruptable heal that is typically cast after Spinning Crane Kick. This heals the Pandaren for a huge amount of health, and while it's preferable to let this go off if it means stopping a Chi Blast earlier on, it's better to save your interrupts for this and avoid Chi Blast by staying close.
Spinning Crane Kick is avoidable simply by running away. The Pandaren moves faster than normal running speed, so be ready with some kind of speed boost (about 30% should do) or get a head start while the Pandaren is still casting the initial spell. Stunning during the channel will stop the attack, but stunning during the initial cast will only make them cast it again when the stun wears off.

He has three abilities:

治疗之雾

Whenever you see him casting

just run away or stun him. You cannot interrupt it.
Save your interrupt for
治疗之雾
as it heals for a huge amount.
真气爆裂
hits quite hard but he only uses it if his target is not within melee range.
Fight may take a while solo but it is doable as long as you are avoiding preventable damage.

This rare is comedy hour.
You will sometimes get endless amusement watching multiple people die to this guy because they don't understand how his abilities work. I've watched five separate people die to him in a row while just floating above on my mount. Once he starts Chi Bursting anyone on his threat table it becomes a bloodbath.
Always something amusing to do if you're camping one of the other rares in Vale and killed it - most of them share respawn so if your rare came up, this guy will also be up. Just fly to him after killing your rare and enjoy the carnage.
He can also be kited into Shrine of the Seven Stars. Kite him into the Golden Lantern and watch dozens of people die from Spinning Crane Kick.

I Ran (So Far Away) - A Flock of Seagulls
He's definitely not easy to solo. If you try, run away when he casts
Spinning Crane Kick
and run back to him ready for an interrupt because he often uses
Healing Mists
soon afterwards. Do not stay too far away from him because he will cast
Chi Burst
at you if you're out of melee range.

Not recommended for casters due to the following:
Heavy melee hits
2-3 shots target if out of melee range
Any attempt to kite will result in immediate death

As a moderately geared shadow priest who's soloed some of the other pandas, I thought he'd be doable by same tactics but alas. Unlike Ruun Ghostpaw, his heals are on a shorter 'cooldown'.
Ai-Ran has
three main spells
(just like the other rare pandas):
Healing Mist
- Heals for approximately 50% of his health
Spinning Crane
- Attacks in spinning pattern for massive damage
Chi Burst
- Ridiculously high damage (distance spell)
Best strategy I found (which clearly wasn't good enough) was to
fight him on his altar and then run to front of cave
when he casts spinning crane. It is easy to move him back and forth between the two places; you can avoid damage from spinning crane this way (as it will end before he reaches you).
If he's going to cast healing mist, he'll do it after a Spinning Crane.
He can cast healing mists after ~30-40 second cooldown
(with Silence on a 45 sec cooldown... you see my dilemma).
You can
COMPLETELY AVOID Chi Burst if you stay close enough to him
. Just fight in the cave as directed above and make sure you keep him near the door and on the altar so you can run back and forth between spinning cranes.
Once I'm more geared for dps (main spec = disc so reforged atm for spirit) I'll come back. But, anyone who has more than one interrupt or higher dps can take him down :)
Best of luck!

IMO the hardest of them all. Did her as a Mage lvl 90, ind 6th or 7th attempt. While the tactic is easy - see above - the execution has to be very precise. In my cloth she did like 180K damage/sec, when I was hit by Spinning Crane Kick.
My tactics:
1) Pull here with Fireblast, Nether Tempest, Incanters Ward, Trinket, Fireball, Fireblast!, Combustion
2) Pop Mirros, and when she is casting Spinning Crane 1st time interupt with Dragons Breath. It gives the mirros longer living time
3) Time warp and other CD's, spam like hell. Interupt healings with Counterspell
4) Mirros dies. From then: Normal rotation. When Spinning Crane blink through, but not to far.

This guy took a couple of attempts to get the timing down, but heres what worked for me(90 fire mage). Keep "/range 15" up so you know your range limit for Chi Burst abil and try to stay as close to 15yds. away as you can. Pop all damage CD's right away, and any as they refresh, and spam normal dps rotation until he casts Spinning Crane kick. At which point strafe kite away. You should be able to dps him down while eating his normal melee attacks. Fire Mages specifically-Opened with trink CD's>Time Warp>Mirror Image>Frostjaw(talent)>Pyroblast>Deep Freeze>Infernoblast>Pyroblast>Combustion>Pyroblast>Living Bomb> then into normal dps rotation. That opener dropped him about 1.5M health til he killed the mirror Images. After they dropped i just kept Ice Barrier up and ate the melee, strafing away from him spamming scorch when he cast Spinning Crane Kick. I think the approach should work for most ranged dps classes, hope it helps and good luck!

As a shadow priest, as was said before, this fight is rather terrible. If you're a blood elf, you get an extra spell interrupt once every 2 minutes. It's essentially a dps race to kill him before he casts mists for a fourth time. If he casts it, you'll probably just have to run and reset him and try again.
Start the fight in the back of his room. If you are at the entrance, he will hit you with Chi Blast, which will knock away at least half of your health. Dot him up fast and be prepared to run from his Spinning Crane Kick. It hurts, but not as much as Chi Blast. If you get just far enough ahead of him, he will mostly stand in place while spinning. After the first kick, he will try to heal almost immediately if you did any significant damage to him. Use Silence to interrupt that. After this, he will do two more Spinning Crane Kicks in a row. After the second one, he will cast his Healing Mist. Hit your arcane torrent. At this point, dps as hard and as fast as you can. He'll repeat the pattern of 2 Spinning Crane Kicks followed by a Healing Mist. By now your Silence should be back up. Use it.
Hopefully your dps is high enough to now finish him off before he can pull off his final Healing Mist.

90 BM Hunter finally took him down today after several attempts. Tried with a Turtle and then a spirit beast with no luck. The extra heals he does are a pain. I decided to try a Moth because they provide an extra interrupt. On my second attempt with the Moth I was successful. Using its "Serenity Dust" as an extra interrupt made the fight relatively easy. Hard part is just not hitting your interrupt at the wrong time.

Took time to solo with a Windwalker monk, but you can pretty much beat him by keeping chi wave up, and like in your monk training using paralysis to stop his spinning crane kick (while he is paralyzed wait for the duration of paralysis to reset). Keep yourself topped off with Healing Sphere.

I was having a LOT of trouble with the Pandaren Rares on my affliction warlock (ilevel 467 at this time) because I was so used to just sending in void and burning mobs down while healing void (BTW
枯萎的睡莲
is great when macro'd to heal your pet along with glyphed health funnel) and I just completed several of them back to back using this strategy.
All the Pandaren are neutral so you can get close to them without fear of starting the fight before you are ready.
Setup Steps:
Summon Felhunter and make sure you have Spell Lock on an easy keybind .
Set felpuppy to "Go To" the spot right in front of the Pandaren.
Stand beside the Pandaren and create a demonic portal to the nearest "safe" location.
Set a demonic summoning circle an equal distance (but off-set) from the Pandaren so that the portals and the summoning circle create a triangle.
During the fight you use your portal to escape spinning crane kick (run back, refreshing dots) and if he chases you instead of staying on felpuppy for duration of the spinning crane kick (seemed like she chased me 1 out of 3 kicks) then you can use your demonic summoning circle to gain additional distance.
I use shadowfury to buy me some time if all else fails escaping a Spinning Crane Kick or buying time for a silence cooldown to come back up.
Really once I laid out this plan the fight was very easy.
Good luck all you hunters!

He isn't the easiest fight I've had.
The never ending spam on
治疗之雾
makes me go berserk.
Since I'm a hunter I don't have the good silence, it will be even more harder to kill Ai-Ran in 5.2 (Even though it's just a 4 seconds increase, but affects Survival/Marksman)
You can stop his Healing Mist with Intimidation, Scatter Shot, Silencing Shot (If you have that specced).
Allthough it doesn't stop the spam of his heals, he can keep casting it, spamming it. Sometimes he doesn't even cast it at all for me, maybe ca. 2-3 times during the fight.
If you have the aggro, don't run away from him. He will cast a spell (
真气爆裂
) which does huge amount of dmg to you or your pet.
If you have problem with avoiding
神鹤引项踢
I'd suggest you to pull him out of the cave. (Make sure you've killed the mobs outside so you don't risk the chance pulling them, making the fight abit harder for people who haven't a tank to pet or good self heals. Don't forget
真气爆裂
, so pull him slowly outside to avoid it)
I need all my CD's up to kill him (If he keeps spamming
治疗之雾
it's good to have Readiness ready.)
Else the fight is totally fine, just don't forget to heal your pet.
~ Good luck!
Edit: He isn't that hard for hunters, only the interruping of healing. Not too sure if it will get changed or stay that way. Yet he is possible to solo, may be hard. Depends on the fight.

I managed to solo this with shadowpriest ILVL 479, but it was a long long fight, about 15 minutes.
Tactics:
1. Obviously keep dots on, cast mind blast, mind spike(the talented that doesnt remove dots) every time you can.
2. use shield speed talent to get away from spinning kick. You will learn the right range. Where you are not too far to get bursted but not too close to get hit by spinn. You have time to cast spells before he finishes the spinn.
3. Silence when cooled down ofc.
4. If silence on cooldown use some kind of stun, I found
野牛人风铃
useful here. It interrupts the heal. Sometimes he recasts it, sometimes he doesnt. It is a bit of luck does he use healing on every cooldown or not. 2min cooldown but it can make a difference
5. just keep fighting even if he heals to the max.
Many times he healed to the max, but I just kept fighting. At one point i got so far that he healed to only 85%then next time to only 70%. After that i got him silenced and stunned so he did not heal anymore and it was a kill. And btw. he dropped the speciality item

This is also soloable on a Destruction Warlock, which I just did tonight.
Talents I found necessary are Soul Leech, Shadowfury, and Grimoire of Sacrifice. Sacrifice the fel hound for the damage buff and silence. Set up your gateway about 40 yards. Set your teleport on one of the ends of the gateway. Put your dancing shoes on and go to town on him.
The key for a warlock to winning this fight is making sure you are always standing next to one of the ends of the Gateway and using your teleport when it's off CD. Timing, and boss placement has to be PERFECT or you will die from his spinning kick or chi blast.

For Hunters
: Watch the timing. Scatter shot will interrupt it momentarily if your Silencing Shot is on CD. Don't rely on it as a major interrupt though. He will immediately resume casting Healing Mists once he's out of the scatter. It will give you ample time to patch a quick bandage if needed and if you've timed it right your Silence CD should be up.
As others have mentioned, if you're close enough he won't Chi Burst you into oblivion, though it does leave you open to damage from Spinning Crane Kick. I experimented with this some and you can stand at the mouth of the cave as well and not trigger the Chi Burst. I stayed at max range and was fine. The page on Chi Burst shows its max range to be 50 yards, though so take that as you will. Maybe it
was
luck, but with Hunter max range and proper positioning you should be just fine. Leave yourself some room to line of sight him if you need.
I did go around in circles with him a few times until getting his heal rotation down. He'll do
two Spinning Crane kicks and then Healing Mists
. Keep mend pet up during Spinning Crane kick, especially the second kick. He heals almost immediately after the second Crane Kick. DPS where you can in between mends, obviously.

This was very easy as Brewmaster Monk.
Wait for him to start using his whirlwind kick and lock him down with Paralysis
When he starts casting Healing Mist use spearhand strike.
By the time he uses those abilities again your cd's will be ready.
I am assuming that Most CC will work for this guy (ice trap, seduce ect to stop the crane kick)
allowing him to use the crane kick before you stop it seems to put it on cooldown.. if you stop it before he casts it he will just recast it again as soon as he is able to move.

I solo'd this as Fury Warrior, though I did have 460-ish gear.
I use Double Time over Warbringer for this guy, in case his Spinning Crane Kicks are too close together.
At the start I quickly blow my CDs before the first kick. You may want to wait till after the first kick, but if you use them immediately it should be about the same time and you won't worry about interrupts.
Then run away or Heroic Leap when he uses Spinning Crane Kick (Keep in mind you'll only be able to Heroic Leap once per two kicks unless you're glyphed), and charge back at him when he tries to cast Chi Burst/Healing Mist (If you Leaped too far away, he may try to cast Chi Burst).
Be extra careful when you charge at him not to get Trigger-happy with your Interrupt. Since it stuns him for a second, it will stop his casting - if you try to interrupt immediately you'll waste it. If you do this, you can use Warrior's 2nd interrupt, Disrupting Shout, if you have to.
After the first or second kick, you'll have pulled him outside the cave. On the third, pull him back inside. Note that you will need all the time you can get to start moving, and will have to start walking the moment you see his Crane Kick cast bar light up.
For this reason, ALWAYS stand on the side that you are going to kite him toward. Having to walk through him will get you killed. Heroic Leap when desperate.

Destruction Warlock Solo Guide
After many fail attempts trying to LoS, spec switching, and so fourth, I was able to successfully solo it. The only way I have been able to do it was through Destruction.
My setup:
Spec: Destro
Talents:
1. Dark Regeneration (Must)
2. Mortal Coil (Health if you want. Not needed)
3. Dark Bargain (Helpful, but again not needed)
4. No talents useful for 60 tree
5. Grimoire of Sacrifice (This is a must)
6. Kil'Jaeden's Cunning (Must)
Glyphs:
Burning Embers
Healthstone
Other does not matter. If you are concerned for health, go with Siphon Life.
To set up, bring up Fel Hunter, Sac it, and use any buffs you can (Dark intent or Potions if you fancy). Set up your Demonic Gateway right at the entrance of cave to where he is positioned in the room, and have your Demonic Circle: Summon at the entrance as well.
Goal is to not stay far from him. The Chi Bursts are nothing to be taken lightly what so ever. You cannot LoS them very long as he will come out the cave and resume regular rotation, there is a number of reasons why this is bad but I'll save you the time and say, keep the fight in the cave.
Since you are up close, he will be hitting you with melee swings. They are fairly tolerable to tank until he casts his Spinning Crane Kick. When he does, teleport using which ever method you do not have on CD. Really does not matter which you start with, but you will be alternating. He will channel the kick for a few seconds, at which you should be running back in and continuing to dps him down. Save your spell locks for when he casts Healing Mists. You will be good to go on the spell lock cooldown because he will not cast it more than once every 24 sec (unless you have bad luck).
Anyhow, just dps him down, running back and forth. You can notice him cast the Spinning Crane Kick, as soon as you see it just teleport. If you get caught by one hit of the leg or just took too much damage, use your Dark Regeneration+ Healthstone and you will be full health in no time. I did not need any other healing or defense cooldowns other than that, but there is still Burning Embers, Dark Bargain, and Mortal Coil to assist you if you need them.
I hope this was handy in picking out the small details.
Good Luck, Happy Hunting,
Weapwnage

While I don't have anything new to contribute to what others have said, I will at least explain what my group did. I previously tried to solo him on my hunter and managed to get him down to about 50%, but with no reliable stuns or silences, that didn't last long.
I tried with a group of two priests and a mage (myself as one of the spriests) and we still couldn't manage due to the spinning crane kick and chi blasts obliterating us. Eventually I switched back to my hunter though, and with my pet now tanking him (and able to withstand all his aoes and damage), we were able to dps him down fast and keep him silenced with the mage and spriest. Dropped a blue bop item as well as the vanity wind item.

As of 5.2 his
神鹤引项踢
2-shots my pet. Very close to imposible to do. If the pet stays close he dies. If I pull too far we both die due to his insta-death ranged attack. And on top of that, he also follows the pet during the cast so it is very challenging. Maybe too challenging.
Edit: After about 10-15 wipes, I finally managed to kill him. I had to ressurect my pet two times, I also used

As a BM hunter, I have soloed him multiple times, and this is the method I found best, and have used.
I use a corehound because of its ability to slow the casting speed of healing mists. I had it on auto the whole time, but you cannot rely on it to work all the time and be up when you need it. If you want make a macro and cast it after his kicks, when he is most likely to heal. Must be done before he casts.
I am also speced w/ silencing shot.
After soloing him multiple times, here is the best method I have come up with.
METHOD:
A:)
Priority is just damage.
Step#1 Do damage. Run away when he casts his kick,
just turn around and run do not backwalk/backpeddle
-but dont go to far, let the first heal go through. Be wary of your snake trap, if its up while he kicks he might stay in the same spot and attack the snakes. IF YOU CHOOSE to interrupt his kick, wait till he finishes casting then interrupt. There is about >3second gap where he will swirl around and you will not take damage. So as soon as you see the bar full, click your scatter shot, if you see its about full cast intimidation. It takes >2sec longer for intimidation to kick in.
B:)
Priority becomes Interrupts
Overall your interrupt rotation would be like.
Silencing Shot > Scatter Shot > Intimidation
. Save your Scatter shot and Intimidation for his kick since 5.2 seemed to have changed his mechanics a bit.
Tip:
Dont use Murder of Crows
, I found that it will interrupt the scatter shot. Also stop attacking him and pull your pet away from him as soon as scatter shot is casted to maximize your time.
.
Step#2, do more damage pop cool downs(Bestial wrath, Ancient Hysteria) except for readiness.
Save Readiness just in case you screw up and need your cool downs.
If your pet dies, use Heart of the Phoenix, if it dies again, use Deterrence, then Res it.
.
I do not recommend using Disengage to get away from him during the spinning crane kick and you decide to back peddle, he will more than likely either catch up with you, or if you overshoot you might get too far, he will chi burst you, and you will most likely die
Dont like corehounds?
Try
A Gorilla = stuns.
A Rhino = knock backs(be careful not to get too far, if your doing this run to him, unless its his kick)
A Nether Ray = stuns
Sincerely,
Kareena Altar of Storms

For those who don't know, and having read *some* of the comments, you won't know (unless you've found this out yourself. Let's assume you haven't) you can completely avoid sweating about Spinning Crane Kick. All you have to do, I have found, is to be approx 10 yards or more away before he finishes casting it and he will spin on the spot, not even bothering to move to you.
He doesn't go to the effort of moving, you don't have to worry about damage, everyone's a winner!
P.S the vanity item adds a little animation to your feet and helps you jump a little bit further. Oh fun fun fun..

If you are a hunter, this plan will work for you 100% of the time. No wipes.
1) Walk into his little home and send your pet after him. Pet spec is irrelevant, so go with damage spec.
2) Stand on the other side of the room from your pet and Ai-ran. Make sure you are in the cave however because his ranged attack will murder you. Blow all your CDs if you wish, it really doesn't matter
3) Ai-ran uses Spinning Crane kick and kills your pet. That's fine. Right when your pet dies, start rezzing him. Ai-ran will run to you and melee you a little bit, no biggie.
4) By now your pet is rezzed. Run to the other side of the room and start DPSing. Rinse repeat.
Note: Save silencing shot and scatter shot for Healing Mist.
That's it. Once I started using this strat I've never died to him again. Super easy. Let me know if this works for anyone else.

His cave entrance is at 40.98 68.39. If you're looking at the map it's the north side of the little mountain range between mistfall village and Tu Shen burial ground, just off the road.
I had a hard time finding him so hopefully this helps the next person

As a shadow priest this fight is sooo not fair, we got 1 silence and the cd is 45 sec so we use it once and then 30 sec later he heals again. soo not doable alone on a shadow priest

Soloed easily as a Blood Death Knight. The trick is to tank him where he sits at, when he starts Spinning Crane, immediately start running to the entrance, when he stops, bring him back to his original position and continue this little dance until you kill him. Interrupt all heals of course.

Prot Pally. I just used Consecration and repentance repeatedly till he died. Took forever but was easy.

PULL HIM OUT OF THE CAVE. No matter what, pull him out. The cave is just small enough to mean he will corner you with his Spinning Crane Kick, and you will be trapped and die a horrible and fast death. The run to your corpse will be humiliating, and your family dishonored.
This is the rare I see the most, mainly because of how hard he is for some classes to handle (and also being the highest level Pandaren Rare means he hits like a truck). I feel sorry for classes that have long interupt cooldowns (Priests), but as a frost mage this fight is really trivial.
Counterspell the Heal. Never run to far away to avoid him Chi Blasting you (which whatever gear you are wearing means 2HKO) and Deep Freeze as soon as he starts to Spinning Crane Kick (not during the cast).
Gear really does play an issue here, the higher ilvl means the more damage which means the faster he will go down, which in turn means that there is less time to make a mistake. Still farming him for the fun item.
Good luck all.

Just did it on my enhanced shammy. Main trick was to wind shear the heals and ghost wolf the spinning. Drop elementals just *after* spinning.
And don't run too far when he's spinning, or he'll Chi ya (although I'm sure I interrupted it once).

In order to interrupt Healing Mists successfully, you must have a school lockout type interrupt. Meaning Pummel, Spear Hand Strike, Kick, etc. Blanket Silences WILL NOT WORK to interrupt Healing Mists. Blanket silences such as Scatter Shot will stop his cast, but he will immediately attempt to cast Healing Mists again once the silence is over. The cooldown is not triggered unless the specific school of Healing Mists is locked out. That is why people experience the "chain heal" effect.

a walk in the park if you're a monk.
Like all rare mob encounters, during the most dangerous move (especially channeled ones)
use paralyze and leave them there until your cooldown is over. rinse and repeat, you effectively have one infinite interrupt.
note: paralyze isn't broken from damage by expel harm, fists of fury, chi torpedo and chi wave. I'm sure there are other moves that don;'t break it but those are the ones i use.
during periods of buffed damage e.g. yaungol berserk, disarm them (or paralyze, if you're that patient).
the only rare mob i occasionally have difficulty with are the hozen. Bananarang casts pretty fast and flies around regardless of cc

Killed after a few tries as a BM hunter.
Used my corehound pet for Ancient Hysteria and the cast time slow.
Used Intimidation to take out Spinning Crane Kick, then popped Readiness to remove the cooldown.
Used Silencing Shot on Healing Mist.
Popped Ancient Hysteria and Stampede at the start.
It's pretty simple, but timing is everything. I started out with big DPS just to get him down faster. Stood about halfway into the cave so that even if my pet died I wouldn't be out of range and get Chi Blasted.
I kept a close eye on his cast bar so I would see when Crane Kick or Healing Mists came up. As soon as the bar was full on Crane Kick I would hit Intimidation. My pet either didn't take damage or only took 1 hit (about 25% of its health). Kept Mend Pet up constantly and his normal hits are light enough that Mend Pet can heal a pet up to full before the next Crane Kick.
Immediately after the first Crane Kick I hit Readiness to clear the cooldown. This is important because he will use the Crane Kick again before Intimidation is off cooldown.
Healing Mist I interrupted with Silencing Shot. He didn't cast it very often so I had no issues with CDs.
The second Crane Kick was also interrupted with Intimidation. At this point both it and Readiness are on CD.
The third Crane Kick I survived because of the snakes from Snake Trap and also Mend Pet allowing my corehound to survive an extra second before being killed. By the time he reached me the kick had ended. He had about 5% health left so I didn't worry about reviving my pet.
Difficult, yes, but not impossible!

Yep, he's fairly tough, but with some good timing, he's soloable. As a Ret Pally, I entered his cave and stood behind him, facing the entrance. He's passive until you engage him, so you have time to position yourself and get ready.
After engaging him for a few seconds, his first move was the Spinning Crane Kick, which is lethal. As soon as he started casting it, I ran through him to just outside the cave entrance, then turned around to face him. He follows you while Crane Kicking, so backing away from him is not fast enough, you have to RUN through him.
I whacked away at him until he cast Healing Mists, which I interrupted using Rebuke. After a few seconds, he once again cast Spinning Crane Kick, so I ran through him back to the end of the cave where I first engaged him. Turned around to face him and whacked away.
Once again while he was in the process of casting Healing Mists, I Rebuked him. He follows Healing Mists with another Spinning Crane Kick. Run to the opposite end of the cave again and repeat. I had to do this cycle about 4 times, but in the end, he was a corpse. Had some nice loot too!

About due west of the B in Tu Shen Burial Ground if you do not have coords.

as of 5.3, it seems that Spinning Crane Kick is no longer classified as an AoE and will kill hunter/lock pets fairly quickly with the 150k dps. I've yet to figure out how to avoid this except maybe with scattering shot... I've died 4 times.. not used to that being as I had already soloed monk rares before and had no trouble...

For the hunters (or anyone who may need to know), I managed to kill this rare after a few times, though there are a few things you have to do to stay alive.
1) Although you may be reluctant, stay within melee range. When you are within this range, he will not cast the chi bolt (which hits for about half health) and the damage is limited to about 8k per hit.
2) Do not waste your scatter shot on interrupting his spin kick. Instead, disengage and/or move back when you see the case. If he comes close, pop detterence. When the spin kick has about a second left, go back to his melee range to avoid him casting the chi bolt.
3) Binding shot is extremely useful in this, especially with his spin kick as it will limit him to moving 5 yards, as well as stunning him for 5 seconds.
4) When he heals, use whatever it takes to interrupt. Scatter shot and silencing shot must be used, as his healing heals for a lot of his health.
In case you may have noticed, I didn't mention the pet. This was intentional as the pet is mostly useless in this fight. My only advice is that you keep your mouse on the 'follow' button and spam that as you see the rare casting spin kick.
Don't expect your pet to stay alive for long. Keep mend pet up, and if necessary, use Heart of the Phoenix. Don't bother switching the pet spec to tank, as this fight is more about stunning, evading, and DPSing. Attacking head-on will only result in death (at least as a hunter).
Good luck. Sorry if that was long :)

I've finally gotten to where I can solo the panda champions, including this guy, who is one of the toughest of them. This is the best and simplest advice that I can give you:
It comes down to just two things:
- When he casts his Spinning Crane Kick, you need to immediately run away FAST; and then dash back in when he's through.
(When running away from his Spinning Crane Kick, run only until he stops chasing you and is just spinning in place -- then stop running. You don't want to increase the distance more than you have to! When he finishes spinning entirely, if you're too far away, he'll cast a nasty ability that will likely kill you.)
- When he casts his Healing Mists, interrupt it, and continue attacking.
I know that nothing is ever as simple as it sounds, but this really is all there is to it.

WELL THEN, Seems I was doing a casual rare kill here, on my Combat Rogue, and decided Killing Spree would be a good cooldown to pop. Horribly mistaken, for he started to run (Not sure why..) and when my Killing Spree ended, I was trapped in one of the pillars he spawns next to, I still managed to net the kill, but not long after I was forced to kill myself, or wait for my hearthstone cooldown... #Next-Lvled.

Just thought I'd add my two penny's worth. As a destro lock I got lazy with the whole 'send voidwalker, stay back, nuke' strategy and pretty much got my arse handed to me by panda rares since my strategy is to out dps them, which worked up to level 89's. (Managed the Skymirror panda with a mind controlled mantid so that's kinda cheating) So I fiddled around, died a few more times and worked out this new method:
Make sure all your health items are ready. Healthstones, buffs, etc... and summon the observer/felhunter/that pet with silence. Overgrown lilypad would be very useful here as well.
Go in as close as possible. They are neutral so no worries of pulling before you're ready.
Hit it with your usual rotation. (Mine was: Curse of Elements followed by immolate followed by incinerate to build up embers, as much as you can build)
The moment he starts casting spinning crane kick, LET him cast. The first second when he starts spinning does no damage to you. THAT is when you should shadowfury/stun him. That would prevent him from casting again immediately.
Following the kick he would start healing. If possible, let him cast till 2/3 before silencing, or wait as long as possible. Optical Blast (from Observer) prevents spells from the same school to be cast for 6 seconds. So the longer you can deny the panda its heals the better.
The moment the heal is interrupted, start nuking with everything you've got. Dark soul your chaos bolts and keep hitting. Use shadowburn once it's available. Summon a terrorguard once it's at 20% health and below (additional damage).
unlocked.
Good luck and happy hunting to all.

After a few tries as a shadow priest I found out it is possible, yay! Just ignore his first heal, build up your shadow orbs and don't use them until after that first heal, then burn him down! Use your silence on the remaining heals when up. Good luck!

A bit surprising at first since the many other rare spawns in the area are very easy. Ai-Ran killed my pet in about two seconds. I don't think his rewards are any better than the others so it's probably best to just avoid him if he's giving you trouble.

As an Arms Warrior after 2 deaths I managed to kill him.
Hamstring before he Spinning Crane Kicks and Heroic Leap to the other side of the cave, charge back to interrupt his healing mists and DPS down.

Not a problem as ilvl509 Assassination Rogue. Sprint/Burst of Speed away from the spinning kicks (he actually doesn't follow you very far), Kick the heals, ...and burn.

I killed him on my second try as an item level 500 SMF warrior. Died the first time because I was totally not ready for how much damage his Spinning Crane Kick did, and it destroyed me. So...second attempt, I was more ready.
Popped all DPS cooldowns + Mogu Strength pot, charged, beat on him as hard as I could until he started charging up his Spinning Crane Kick. Ran out (don't try to backpedal or strafe, just turn and run). Don't run TOO far, just try to stay right outside of his range. Charge back in after he finishes his Spinning Crane Kick. Be ready to interrupt once he starts casting Healing Mist (from what I saw, he will usually do it right after he finishes Spinning Crane Kick, but not always. just watch for it). Rinse and repeat.
Main priorities are 1) avoid Spinning Crane Kick and 2) interrupt Healing Mist.
Really, the biggest mistake I made was underestimating him on the first try. Since most of the other MoP rares are pretty simple at this gear/patch level, I went in just thinking I could stand there, burn him, and not worry about mechanics. Didn't work that way. My gear is not great, but Spinning Crane Kick hits like a truck. I imagine it could easily drop even a well-geared player who doesn't get out of it quickly enough.
Got my achievement for killing each type of Pandarian champion off him though, so I guess it was worth it!

Easily soloable with a rogue, higher iLev just means shorter fight.
It is important to have Burst of Speed specced, and having kick glyphed helps. DPS with your normal rotation, when you see him prepping spinning crane kick, BoS, and run away, he usually follows at a slower speed, so you shouldn't go far enough to trigger Chi Blast. You may use Kidney Shot if kick is on cooldown, but kick should recover fast enough.
Note, this approach pretty much shuts down all Pandaren rares.

My Experience:
Finished him using the below strategy:
I am a lvl 90 Fury Warrior at 557 ilvl.
1.
Start with HC Throw + charge
2.
Used my CDs (Macro"ed") Recklessness + Blood Fury + Storm Bolt and immediately hit Bladestorm.
3.
Watch carefully his cast bar for the kick .. if it happens RUN AWAY to a distance and charge back to stun him and in a matter of a second interrupt his healing you can see when.
4.
Continue DPSing him and he shall be dead.
Tested this my self after couple of deaths and it worked perfect !
Good Luck !

Still hits like a truck vs a (admittedly not well-geared) lvl 100.... *looks embarrassed*. So, if you actually stay out of range of the Spinning Crane Kick and then nuke, he's killable enough, but a lesson learned the hard way here, hopefully you guys can profit from it!
