How i solo'd as a lvl 89 rogue(assassin) in lvl 437 quest greens:
Mob roams and seems to be linked with 4 other mobs. 3 lizards and a turtle. Sapping one and trying to kill it before the pack tethers back to assist did not work. Even when I killed one of the adds it would instantly respawn after I vanished out of the other 4 attackers.
Omnis is immune to sap himself. However, he is not immune to blind.
I won this fight with master of puppets augment (gives you a pet) and Angel of death Klaxxi enhancement. My poison choice was the new leeching heal poison and crippling poison.
Start off the fight by blinding Omnis and sapping another lizard. Open with ambush, shadow blades, vendetta and evasion on one of the 3 not CCd. The klaxxi angel of death will come down and do damage to the 3 targets, finish all 3 off and then break sap and use the klaxxi mind control on the previously sapped target (or just mind control at the start)
After the adds die it's you and your charmed mob versus Omnis. His stacking dot is no joke if your damage and hp is low from being in greens. This is why you will use crippling poison and shiv kite him when you need your stacking bleed to fall off. Your mind controlled pet will also pursue him when he vanishes, which will cancel his impending ambush.
If you get too far away from him he will grapple you back to him so be cautious or just run again after you are grappled. Keep recup up and you will win over time.
Dropped chestplate of manifested dread (paladin healer) for me.
Edit: After rereading my post I should mention that you can blind in stealth(and not break stealth) now.

All Saurok rares use the same set of abilities.
Vicious Rend is a stacking bleed effect. It can be avoided by kiting the Saurok until the debuff falls off, or simply healed through.
Grappling Hook is basically just Death Grip. Saurok will use this when you get more than 20 yards away.
Vanish and Smoked Blade are the things to watch out for. Upon Vanishing the Saurok will clear all debuffs and DoTs currently affecting him. You have a moment to retarget and hit the Saurok again before he disappears, but if you don't manage it, AoE spells can knock him out of stealth before he gets the drop on you. Otherwise, be ready with a defensive CD.

Just solo'ed as an 88 hunter with no upgraded gear.
I separated each add from the main group until I had enough time to kill it before they got back.
When it was just one melee add and the turtle left I pulled the boss. Mend pet did most of the work, staying at 40 yards made him always shadow slice my pet. Twice my pet died from crit shadow slice's so I scatter shot him, res and then FD.
Since my gear is out of date it took about 10 min to kill him this way.

If you aren't tanky or don't have a pet to tank, watch out for his shadow blades after he vanishes. I wasn't really expecting the damage on my spriest since I'd gotten him down to about 1mil hp without taking much damage, but when he jumped out of vanish he hit me twice with shadow blades @ 127k damage each hit.
Some horde was killing him by the time I got back, but next time I'll try it with the Master of Puppets augmentation.
Edit: It's mentioned in the Vanish spell description, but this is the spell he uses when he pops out (55% hp damage):
Smoked Blade
.
I ended up evading it by running away every time he vanished, though bringing him out of stealth before he uses it would probably secure the kill better.

This is what I did on my paladin who is just geared enough for heroics. It's pretty straight forward.
Cast repentance on the shaman. DPS down the second add as fast as you can and then focus on omnis. Just keep up your judgement, cast the instant flash of light whenever it procs, use word of glory on 3 ticks if you need extra health, and be sure to cast repentance at least 10 seconds before the current one expires. That's what I did and my health didnt drop below 30% at any time. I also used my long cool downs pretty early in the fight.

As an under geared affliction warlock this was a long fight, but not too hard. I waited until I had some clear space, then sent in my pet. I used soulburn and soulswap to quickly dot the adds then just sat and healed my voidlord until they were dead. He took a lot of damage, but it was do-able. That was the hard part.
After that I just kept my dots up and kept my pet and myself healed. He will grappling hook you towards him, but a portal and a teleport back took care of every other one. The in between one I just ran back out of range. His attack after he vanishes can kill your pet if its low so it's important to keep its health up. But other than that there's not much to it.

Just had a confrontation with this guy. Had him at 3% before the rogue that was chasing me finally managed to kill me. He then finished off my kill and got credit for it. :L Thanks a lot Blizz.
But anyways. I was using a BM spec hunter with gear that just reached a high enough ilvl to enter Heroics, but I imagine any spec will work as long as you use the right glyphs and talents. Healing your spec(correction 'pet') during the fight shouldn't be a problem. Hunters just need to keep a close eye on their threat when they're aoe'ing the mobs. Even letting them hit on you for a few seconds is very dangerous. Just keep spamming that Misdirect. :)

If you have
傀儡主宰
handy, you can turn one of his little buddies against him.
It's extra handy for classes with no pets, since they'll chase him out of stealth when he uses

and prevent him from using Smoked Blade.

Only thing to watch out for here is his groupies + his vanish. If you have any sort of AoE, drop it anytime he vanishes to bring him back or he'll hit you fairly hard. Other then that, pretty easy for a 90 rare.

Soloed at 90 with ilvl 446 as a Sub rogue; after he killed me the first time. Take out the caster first then the melee...but always keep a bleed up on Grinlok then follow him on vanish....disarm if you have to; rinse and repeat.

Soloed as a
Mage
with Klaxxi augments:
Master of Puppets
and
Children of the Grave
.
The first couple times his mobs got me hard.
Then I noticed as he roams, he would sometimes attack a random
Brineshell Snapper
.
So I waited for this, and just when he would start attacking,
I popped
Master of Puppets
on one of his mobs (
3 mobs
left)
变形术
on another one (
2 mobs
left)
...and focus on one of the others. Hit it hard, while the boss and the remaining mob focus on the
Brineshell Snapper
.
Once down, time for the polymorphed one. Kite it onto the egg sacs from
Master of Puppets
from the first mob so the tiny critters have something to eat.
Then the other mob... and he's down to
0 mobs
.
From there on, it's just a standard Saurok fight (don't get too far, pull him out of stealth, etc). Except I had one of his mobs through
Master of Puppets
, and the
Brineshell Snapper
kept attacking him from behind (just be careful not to hit it, as to not pull it's aggro from the boss).
Quite a fun fight overall.

Solo'd as a BM Hunter. I would recommend a Spirit Beast for the extra heal during this fight but it's up to you.
If you want to kill this guy without dying, you need to take down his adds first. Freezing Trap one of the adds, aggro the group by tagging Omnis, then either have your pet grab them off you, or if you can take the damage/your pet can't survive the damage, kite them around. Make sure to keep Mend Pet on at all times. Keep self healing if you need to, along with Deterrence and Feign Death (they will go to your pet).
Eventually you should have killed all the adds, and from there it's pretty easy. Just Mend Pet and kill!
The one thing to watch out for is his Vanish, afterwards he comes back with a huge damage attack on either your pet or you. Be prepared for it.

Soloed as 90 prot pally. Used Seal of Insight, Word of Glory and Sacred Shield. He has a group of adds with him (
like 5
), so burn those down first. Don't let him get behind you or you will take massive damage. Has about 3.7M health.

Just a little tip, if you get the ability "Master of Puppets" from one of the Klaxxi'Vess NPC's, you can mind control one of the NPC's he has walking around with him to make it easier. One less thing to worry about!

When I ran into him, i honestly didnt even realize i wound up in a rare mob fight. I was doing one of the Klaxxi quests down there (Had the little vespid companion with me) and was killing mobs and he just so happened to be one. As a 90 Elemental Shaman, I didnt feel i'd have much problem taking him out. He was a royal pain...
I started as I would any fight against a large mob (magma totem and spam chain lightning until somebody dies and popping healing stream whenever cd was up). After killing the first enemy and bringing out searing totem, i focused on the next lowest hp and took him out and his turtle pet (plus the enemy turtle I pulled off the rare).
That left me with just him, and that's when I realized I was in for a tough fight.
Popping into my boss/elite/rare strategy, I immediately put on flame shock and popped my Acsendence spell. After spamming my Lava Burst for half the time, he popped his stealth and wasted the 2nd half of it. I traded blows with him through 2 more stealth breaks until i started to get low on mana. I popped my earth elemental totem and had him tank the rare while i spammed lightning bolts to regain my mana. After that, it was just wash, rinse, repeat until he finally died.
Dropped the Golden Fleece and a pair of BoP mail agility legs.
Holding on to the Fleece for a while until I decide if it's worth hanging onto and losing the buff from my Zen Alchemist Stone (Other trink is Ghost Iron Dragonling with +600 Haste, Mastery, Crit). Sold the Blue BoP Pants.
And that's my story.

He patrols a wide area, always with 2 or 3 escorts. Use Master of Puppets on one of them to start the engagement. Melee wants to kite him or he'll one shot ya with his Rend. Thing is, even though his patrol area is massive, if you move him too far from the place where you engaged, he'll drop agro, evade and go to full health. Very frustrating when you had him down to 5% health. So just kite him in a 30 foot circle. He'll grapple you to him every now and then, just run away. He also has a speed rush to catch up to you, but then he stands in one spot to cast his spell so you can actually turn your back on him and run. He won't one shot ya in the back.
He vanishes every now and then and tries to gank ya, so just move about 10 feet away from his vanish point and he won't rape you with a Smoked Blade when he reappears. Smoked Blade hits for 55% of your hp, so for me, 156k and damned if he doesn't always hit twice in the blink of an eye when you have him down to less than 10%. Blizz says its a known bug but I gar-un-tee it's just built-in sadism.
He'll aggro on your mc'd pet, which is awesome - take a quick breather and heal up or assess your cd's for your next attack rotation. Like other rares, he has some sort of Call-For-Help which gets trash to defend him, which is aggrevating when you get 5 or 6 of the on you. But the upside is you don't really have to keep an eye out for your replacement pet - when he ganks your mc'd pet your 2 minute Puppet cd is up and you simply mc the most obnoxious one attacking you and gg.
As always, ranged has it much easier with most rares than melee, so just adapt this circle-kite and Master of Puppet strat and gg. Another buff I've tried is Pain Killer (you get put in a crystal, heal to full while not dropping aggro). About his mob of adds... here's the thing - as you kite him around he is going to get help from everything within 20 yards of wherever you are at any given moment. This includes turtles, and there might be a time when you are hopelessly faced with 8 adds whacking on you. If you haven't already, GO KILL SALYIN WARSCOUT AND GET HIS SALYIN BATTLE BANNER. This is one of the most awesome thingamabobbers EVAH. It's not a trinket so you just put it on your action bar and when you are in this exact situation, USE IT, the warscout you summon takes all of those bad-nasties and runs them off "in the distance". I haven't figured out what "distance" since they don't ever come back. The only nasty left is the boss, who doesn't drop aggro when you "blend into the shadows for 1 second" and now it's just you and him, GG!

Maybe his buddys spawn not always with him?

I've made it my mission to get this trinket on my 85 blood knight before leveling her up. I imagine getting an extra 240 gold every hour will make leveling much less painful.
Here's how I've done it so far.
If you don't have someone to fly you down to the Dread Wastes, you can head in to Krasarang and just use path of frost to get around The Great Wall of Panaria. From here, you can essentially just run along the coast unfettered until you reach the area where Grinlok can be found.
If you don't have NPC scan, or don't feel like clearing your cache, he's recognizable both by his somewhat increased size and more often by his entourage of three Saurok and a turtle.
As far as fighting him goes, he's pretty easy for Blood DKs. My little 85 was still wearing mostly HoT heroic gear which the exception of the 450 twink mace and the Crystal of Insanity. She totals around 215k health. Not very impressive, is my point.
The first time I tried the fight, I wantonly AoEd and just tried to do as much damage as I could while targeting Grinlock. I was slowly overwhelmed until I no longer had any cooldowns and the dimming light of Purgatory would not wax back to life.
The second time, I never even dropped below half health. This time, i kept use of my cooldowns, and focused on single target DPS, taking down his adds one by one. Once they're down, Grinlock shouldn't even be able to break through your Death Strike's absorb save for the occasional stealth shot.
It's a long fight at 85. I had the foresight to reforge some of my gear to increase my hit and expertise, and I must assume it payed off, because even with my overextended expertise rating, I was getting parried a lot. I ended up doing an average of 20k DPS. Not terrible, I suppose. A lot of fresh 90s might strain themselves to beat it even. But the point is, if you don't kill him fast enough, the route he walks along will eventually be visited by other small groups. If you get adds, treat them like you did the once at the beginning of the fight. Focus on one, DPS it down, and go to the next till it's just you and Grinlok.
As far as Grinlok's attacks go, you really only have to worry about this ambush attack, and even that you don't have to worry about much. I found if you get your pet out, it will often keep on Grinlok when he tries to vanish, stopping him from being able to do it successfully. If your pets on cool down, try to Fight him at the edge of Death and Decay, I've found that even though he brushes off your diseases, he'll often get hit by that while trying to vanish. Blood boil can work if your Death and Decay is still on cooldown.
This is one of my favourite items on my level 90 chars, and I can't wait to get to use it while leveling. I wish they would implement some fun and handy items like this for lower levels as well. If only this thing didn't have a level requirement!

If you're having a hard time with this fight, here are a few suggestions I've found helpful. First, obviously, if you're a class that has an ability to break out of combat, it's terribly helpful to take out his posse and vanish/feign death/whatever and then taking him on alone. I've done this on my hunter and his adds don't respawn for me though I've heard others say they do, all I can say is they never have for me.
If you're a class that can't kill off the adds and then get out of combat, or even if you are, the 2 Klaxxi augmentations that are really helpful in my opinion are granted by Korven the Prime, giving Painkiller, and Kil'ruk the Windreaver, providing Angel of Death. Painkiller essentially gives you 2 lives, healing you back to full while immune once you are hit with a blow that would otherwise kill you, and Angel of Death calls Korven down from the sky to slap around the npcs you're currently fighting when you are fighting 2 or more mobs at once, limit of once every 60 seconds. Obviously this is helpful if you're fighting him with his adds, and he does do a good bit of damage for a few seconds before he ascends back into the sky.
Even if you're fighting him alone, you can pull in a second mob like a nearby crab to gain Korvin's help. He'll nearly finish the second mob off and in the process do a good bit of extra damage to Omnis in the process.
Finally, speaking as a dwarf and a hunter, if you are a dwarf, don't forget stoneform can clear the nasty bleed gouge (or gouge-like effect, not sure if it's actually called that) off you when he vanishes and nails you coming out of stealth. Also, as a hunter, I've found that most of the time if I throw a flare down on him and make sure I have hidden tracking on, I can almost always see him right after he vanishes and hit him right away to break his stealth, thereby preventing him from gouging me or my pet at all.
As a decently geared 90 he's really easy, but these things helped me when I was a new 90 with low gear. I really never have me or my pet go below 90% fighting him, but the Klaxxi augmentations certainly help anyway no matter how well you're geared! Have fun!

This is how you can easily kill him without having to deal with all the mobs that assist him at once:
wait till the group goes near one of the large turtles, Brineshell Snapper. For some reason both the Omnis Grinlok and his pals will engage in fight with the turtle. Then you can safely use your Master of Puppets on one of them and kill the others one by one, leaving Omnis on the turtle. After eventually pulling him, the turtle will continue beating on him, thus helping you this way. So, in the end you fight Omnis alone and have two more 'pets' fight for you.
I have just killed him second time this way, I wanted to make sure previous time wasn't some random accident before posting here.

How I "soloed" him as a level 89 paladin:
After dying a couple of times trying to kill him normally I decided to get a little crafty. I followed him around until he got close enough to a
凯帕琥珀粉碎者
, I then pulled the Pulverizer and ran over to Omnis. I had the pulverizer tank the 4 adds while I engaged Omnis himself. The pulverizer had enough hp that I was able to down Omnis long before the ads killed the pulverizer. After Omnis is down you can chose to run away or kill the rest of the ads.

I managed to take him down on my second try as a Arms Warrior with 522 PvP Gear.
The reason it took 2 tries was because I did not expect him to Vanish and use some kind of Backstab ability, which killed me.
The second time I used Heroic Leap when he vanished, so that I would get away from where he was standing when he vanished. And it worked, I killed him and looted the trinket.
What I did was Charge > Bloodbath + Recklessness + Bladestorm, and all his pals where down counting, and left him with just a few % HP left. And from there it was spank.
So if you're a little geared, and can bring some hurt, then you're good to go.

he walks around in a circle in the dotted area on map.
I killed him twice on my shadow priest. the first time was a close call with the use of some healing items.
The second was simple with little or no damage that my spells didnt self heal. i used Captain Zvezdan's Lost Leg. it not only kept the extras busy but the rare went after them when he reappeared.
Sadly i have only got 2 blue items and a bag of goods with exotic leather in it. I want the fleece.

So after farming Omnis for days, I've killed him a total of.. around 7 or 8 times. I will say the Golden Fleece does not have as high of a drop% as this site says it does. I have gotten nearly every other piece besides the Golden Fleece, and bag of supplies.

Not sure if this is a known bug or not...
But be careful while killing him if he is close to death and then uses his stealth ability and then dies while in stealth mode his corpse will not be available to loot....
The only reason I was able to loot him was because the adds around him I had already killed and was able to see his loot as well even though his corpse was not there.
After about 2 minutes his corpse finally spawned, but was still unlootable because it said "that target is too far away."

Can't understand why this comment got downvoted so hard.
This is an obvious reference to Grimlock the Dinobot from the Transformers franchise.
Not only he's a reptile patrolling with other saurok, but he also drops

"Considered a sign of wealth and status among the Saurok."
So...

On another note, daddy Metzen is a TF fanboy, he collaborated with IDW Publishing on the serie about Megatron's past and WoW has plenty of TF references! :)
