these mobs are crazy just know that ... u need to nuke em asap got like 30k hp on normal or it a easy wipe if u let em be alive for more then 5secs...

Agreed with the above poster.
One thing to do if you have a mage in your group would be to get him to pop Mirror Image. It will give them more targets to aim at, hopefully lowering the strain on your healer.
Also, priests have that bubble shield move which you can stand in long enough to burn them down. That has helped on a previous clear for me.

Best to just have 1 aoe dps, and the rest of your party heal. Works like a charm.

Anyone figure out the mechanic for these packs yet? I was in a normal run this morning with guildies who were all in ICC gear and our tank was mowed down before we got halfway to the pack and I had a full stack of Druid hots on him. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

I am not sure, but from what I've been looking in video's, they've got to be bugged, the damage they're doing we were unhealable in ICC HC and some Cata blue gear.

The only good news I have about these little bastards is that if you kill them they won't get their health back when you come back. Also any you kill stay dead.

Although my group got through both packs without anyone dieing, I'm not going to say it was easy.
Fully 25 ICC geared group with some Dungeon Blues thrown in. Everyone was level 81.
We had only one person healing and just nuked them as quick as possible. We all used our defensive CD's and made it through without a death.
Going to be a pug killer group until the damage is nerfed.

Okay this is just a thought. I have NOT tried it yet. The grounding fields you see before you reach them, when you move around in them it gives you a buff that redirects spells. Is it possible that this is part of the intended mechanic?
On the first pull they will pull from a huge range and the stairs will LoS them by the time you reach the field. Similarly, on the second pull you get the Zephyr buff and are running up a spiral staircase.
If you could pull them back there they would essentially kill themselves? If anyone gets to try this before I do. Let me know.

They will not chase you to the triangle, they will not attack you while in the triangle. They essentially camp you at the top of the stairs just out of reach. With a little over 80k health, I cannot hit one of them before I die.

Just tried these with a group - we were either missing something or something is bugged. Like everyone else, the only thing we were able to figure out was run in, kill some, die, rez, kill the rest. Everyone in the group was 84 except for one DPS who was 82, and even still we did not have the burst to kill them before they killed us.

Had an idea on how to defeat these.
I've noticed that as the tank charges in, they all start shooting at him, and then as soon as I ran in to start firing some of them switched to me.
I hypotheize that the stars spread their attacks around evenly. This leads to two conclusions.
1. It's hopeless to try to tank these, since they don't care about aggro
2. The most effective strategy may be to have everyone run in at the exact same time.
Just in the same way that the most effective strategy for players is to all focus down and burn the same thing at the same time, if the tank rushes in first then the stars will all burn him down first, and continue burning down others as they run in.
So if everyone runs in at the same time, in theory the stars should spread the damage around evenly, turning an impossible encounter into a tough but manageable one.
Protip: Accept that you're going to wipe when you get to these. You just are. Don't have any illusions. The important thing is, if you all run in at the same time, you'll live long enough to reduce the stars' numbers. Then when you come back, you can finish off the rest. The worst thing you can possibly do in this encounter is hesitate.

I noticed a sharp drop in damage per hit when we rushed in together and got up close. As we were wiping I ran back and got hit with 7-10k damage per hit. When we rushed in together we were only taking about 3k a hit.
This either means:
a) closer you are to the stars, the less damage they do (like Loken's aura in HoL)
b) the amount of players they are attacking limits the damage per attack
c) the proximity players are to each other limits the damage per hit
d) I'm crazy
e) all of the above.
I think its mainly a mixture of A
and
B.

One thing to look out for... On my Moonkin I typhooned (knocked back) a handful of them that were near the right column bordering the entry to Asaad's chamber, and one went through the column into its center. We couldn't target it to kill or pull it out.
Running back upstairs took us out of its HUGE attack range but not out of combat. They do not follow when you move away because they have no aggro table, so we couldn't get it to move on its own. We ended up having to fight Asaad with it shooting us the entire time.
Not fun.

Last night we noticed that they do not reset or heal up if you wipe, which at least makes it a little easier on your next attempt. ;-)

An AoE spec'd Fire mage* really shines when dealing with these.
As you run in with the rest of the group, aim your Blastwave so it hits as many Stars as possible.
This first step is crucial as not only does Blastwave hit quite hard when combined with Flamestrike, the amount of Skyfall Star will almost guarantee a Impact.
After the Blastwave has landed, immediately use Living Bomb and Combustion on a target, and use Impact to spread the DoTs onto all the stars.
If done correctly, all the Stars should take a massive amount of damage, even as they try to spread out. The rest of the group should be able to finish them off with ease.
*NB: This works best when Blastwave and Improved Flamestrike are talented. (Some chooses to ignore these talents in a single target Fire build)

Boomkins! Solar Beam the center one as you run in. It completely makes these guys a joke. Our healer didn't even have to throw a heal.

Good idea is to maximize the amount of aims for this stars. Mage can use Mirror image, Moonkin can call triants, Hunter should pop his pet out. I guess good ald trinkets like
Tiny Voodoo Mask
should work fine as well. It will reduce the damage significantly, all you have to do is count down and run at the same time.

I dunno. Feels like they nerfed these guys. First few nights I ran this, it took all my tricks (I'm a Disc priest) to keep people up. I'd pop trinkets, cooldowns, even Divine Hymn ffs. But now? Go in, throw a few heals, wait til people have burned them down. It's not the same fight at all.
I'm not complaining, because the old fight was extremely stressful. But part of me already misses the challenge of it. I felt proud getting through these packs. Maybe they'll return with a vengeance on heroic....

New druid skill from 5.0 patch "Ursol's Vortex" works really awesome, keeps all stars in one place giving time to aoe nuke.

I'm actually reading the old Cata comments on how ppl dealed with these back in the day after watching Ellesmere and Jpc to wipe on them in 25 Vortex before last boss
