When
Kael'thas Sunstrider's
army stormed the naaru's dimensional fortress, Tempest Keep, only one passenger was found: the Keep's guardian,
M'uru
. Kael recognized that the naaru's energy could quench his people's magical addiction. The sin'dorei claimed the keep as their own and sent M'uru back to
Silvermoon
where the newly founded blood knights siphoned and manipulated his powers of the Light as Kael intended. M'uru remained imprisoned until Kael'thas was defeated (but did not die) in
Tempest Keep: The Eye
, at which point he was spirited away to the
Sunwell
by Kael's forces (patch 2.4).
The blood elves of Silvermoon, now betrayed by their prince and without a source of power, have asked for
A'dal's
forgiveness for M'uru's imprisonment and pledged to fight alongside the
Shattered Sun Offensive
. A'dal reveals that all of these events were foretold by
Velen
; M'uru willingly sacrificed himself knowing that it would lead to the elves' redemption.
It appears M'uru's remaining energies (along with
Anveena's
) were used to aid in creating the portal to summon
Kil'jaeden
. His powers depleted, M'uru's has become a "darkened" naaru like
D'ore
and
K'ure
, but is inexplicably hostile unlike the latter two.
When M'uru reaches zero health, he will transform into
Entropius
.
After players defeat Kil'jaeden, Velen will use M'uru's remaining "spark" to reignite the Sunwell with M'uru's energies of the Light. Thus the overarching Burning Crusade story comes full circle: although the blood elves sabotaged the Exodar, Velen facilitated their redemption and replenished their Sunwell's powers.

Some basic fight mechanics:
You should have 4 tanks, including 1 protection paladin.
If you have druid tanks, position them - 1 at the door to muru, and 1 in the hallway opposite side of muru. Three adds come: 2 Berserkers and 1 Mage. Have your dps burn the mage down while stun locking, and interrupting casts. Mages can spellsteal, but more practically their buff should be purged off. The prot paladin is going to be used to pickup the tiny void spawns when you kill sentinals. The fourth tank has to be a warrior, picking up void sentinals and spell reflecting the void charge. When it is about to die this tank should drag the sentinal to the protection paladin.
Classes that are best for add sides are: DPS warriors(whirlwind), Elemental Shamans(chain lightning), Combat Rogues(Blade Flurry). But all melee should be on adds.
Warlocks should be seeding the little voids every couple sentinals, and shadow priests should be on muru the whole time.
At about the six minute mark you want to time murus death so there are no adds up.

M'uru appears as a boss in Sunwell Plateau. He is now a darkened naaru, transforming into Entropius part-way through the encounter.
After Kil'jaeden is defeated, Velen uses M'uru's "spark" to reignite the Sunwell.

can be sheeped, stunned, snared, disarmed, freezing trapped, demoralized, feared, and taunted. They come in identically named pairs making targeting macros rather difficult.
Void Sentinels

can be spell reflected, and misdirected.
Void Spawns
(lvl 70 Demons)
can be resisted via SR, pally taunted, and enslaved.
Dark Fiends
(lvl 70)
can be dispelled, and purged.

Dosnt M'uru have really much armor ?:S A friend of mine was in SWP, and at this boss... he was hunter and imba dps, ( in tbc ) and he usually did 10k crits, but at this guy, he didnt have a chance on high crits, it was like 4k crit :O ... can anyone tell me how much armor this boss got ?:) thnx

One of the reasons for the 'Bring the player, not the class' mentality of WotLK, Mu'ru is considered one of the hardest bosses in the history of World of Warcraft along with Yogg+0, and the Four Horsemen in the original incarnation of the Naxxramas raid instance.
The fight was very difficult without a heavily stacked raid of Shamans and Warlocks.
Before the first nerf Mu'ru's AoE spell damage aura would cause spell pushback, causing the DPS requirement of the fight to be nigh unreachable.

At level 80:
What was once the killer of guilds, one of the most difficult bosses WoW has ever seen, is now probably the easiest in all of Sunwell. Heroism immediately and burn Muru. Everyone stack up in the middle. If your dps is high enough, you'll get one pack of humanoids, and that's it. No Dark Fiends, no Void Sentinels. Aoe down the elves during the transition, then kill Entropius.
If your dps is not high, you'll want a second tank to pick up the Void Sentinel and the small adds it spawns when it dies, and have a reliable priest mass dispel the Dark Fiends when they spawn. The raid should also move out from the middle when it's about to go off.

its embarrassing if 20 lvl 80+ ( an one or two 75) get beat by a giant chandelier,
theres a glitch where if someone runs in, then back out, you get murdered by him, you cant attack him because of the purple wall that forms

Two videos I made about Sunwell Plateau. It shows me (Nobbel 85 Paladin) and my buddy (Eponympf 85 paladin) duoing Kalecgos. We tried to duo Brutallus, but got our butts handed to us. Aliceinchain (85 Shaman) joins and we 3-man the rest of the instance without a problem.

Soloed this with my 85 blood DK in 417 ilevel gear including Jade Forest greens and auction house blues.
The fight is just tank and spanks. Kill M'uru first then finish off Entropius. Entropius is kind of annoying because of the black holes that throw you around but other than that the fight is easy. None of their abilities are worth worrying about.

Mu'ru is a light deprived Naruu and after his defeat leaves a dark crystal which can be purified with holy spells and these "living" crystals are a hint of the creation of the Ashbringer the legendary sword wielded by Argent Highlord Tirion Fordring.

The pre-nerf version of this fight is considered by many to be the hardest raid boss to ever make it to live servers, not counting bosses that were considered unkillable like Kael'thas, Lady Vashj and C'thun pre-nerf. It required near-best in slot gear, highly specific class stacking, profession stacking (Leatherworking for special Drums which buffed your DPS- and EVERYONE needed it), and near-perfect DPS and healing output from all players involved.
The reason? Incredibly tight DPS checks in both of the fight's two phases. In the first phase, the main threat is the adds: two groups of felblood elves, each consisting of two Shadowsword Berserkers and a Shadowsword Fury Mage, will periodically appear at the front and back doors of the boss's room. In addition to the elves, a Void Sentinel will periodically spawn in the room, which will split into multiple Void Spawns on death as well. Both the Shadowsword elves and the Void Sentinels were extremely dangerous and if you couldn't kill them before the next wave spawned, it was a wipe. The fact that you were dealing with all of these adds at once and also had to whittle away the boss's health at the same time made this phase a nightmare for even the best. In the second phase, he transforms into Entropius and inflicts gradually increasing damage to everyone in the raid, and you have to kill him before he kills you; most simply couldn't and consistently wiped at 15% or less.
Now, all of these mechanics sound pretty simple, and wouldn't be so bad if the numbers were tweaked correctly. But because the health of M'uru, Entropius and all of the adds were so overtuned and because the damage they all inflicted to the raid was so high, keeping up on DPS and outhealing the damage required a combination of miracles, perfect rotations/coordination, and the aforementioned class and profession stacking. He was seriously not worth attempting if you didn't have 4-5 Shamans, 4-5 Warlocks, no more than 2 Mages, and an entire raid full of Leatherworkers.
While he wasn't impossible to defeat, the hoops guilds had to jump through to even have a chance to defeat him and the endless frustration of wiping at 10% or less over and over broke up many raiding guilds and is one of the reasons almost no one saw the end of TBC's story in the Sunwell raid.
Perhaps the most ironic part of this fight is that M'uru himself hardly does anything throughout the entirety of the fight; he just floats around and shoots shadow energy at random players in the first phase and is only deadly in the second phase because of the artificially-increasing raid damage he passively puts out.
Few boss nerfs were as well-deserved as M'uru's in patch 2.4.3. Only the bosses that had NEVER been killed pre-nerf come close.

just cleared to this guy, he didn't spawn. I specifically covered my tracks to make sure every single trash add was killed, they all were yet he didn't spawn.

For everyone that's saying that M'uru is not spawning, heres what I did:
DO NOT KILL
the Eredar Twins together, this will bug out and won't spawn M'uru. You will get credit, but you won't spawn M'uru. I don't know why but just trust me on this.
I did it on my hunter and my pets 1 shot the twins, M'uru didn't spawn, so I tried again on my warrior and I just unequipped my weapons, killed one, waited for the sister to get angry and buffed and killed her. Then I just continued the raid killing all the trash, hoping M'uru was there, and he was.
After that, I waited for him to summon the first portal (around 30~ sec after you engage him) and then killed him. Waited for Entropius to form and killed him again. Got loot and credit, it was smooth sailing from there.
And no, I didn't get Thoridal, again. :(
