The Illidari Council is the penultimate boss encounter in the Black Temple. Due to the group of four nature of the encounter, it is sometimes nicknamed "The Quad Emperors" (a play on The Twin Emperors of AQ40) or "High King Maulgar Advanced".

The Illidari Council is a group of four blood elf bosses in the Black Temple. The fight is comparable to High King Maulgar, it sports a difficult pull and a rather chaotic battle for survival which requires high situational awareness and fast reflexes from all raid members. It's also been dubbed "The Super Bowl of Not Standing in Things".
All four bosses share a common health pool of initially 7,000,000 HP. Damage done to any boss is deducted from this pool, they automatically all die when the pool is depleted. The enrage timer is 15 minutes.

Many people would agree that the pull is the hardest part. Once you get the pull down, they're easy to kill.

As a rogue who has had the pleasure of interrupt duty on this fight Id like to help my rogue brothers out there. The PVP gloves are a life saver the extra interrupt on DT is invaluable. It isnt like your dps will suffer too badly anyway, I only did 400 dps!
Edit: I realize now that PvP gloves dont effect DT anymore but I wrote that post when they did

The key to this fight are interupts. Our guiild uses the 2 melee and 2 shammy interupt team. This helps make sure that the priest buffs (which heal the entire encounter or adds 100K hp to each mob) gets contained. Thats pretty much all there is to it, oh and a mage tank is pretty sweet as well. GL

A great key to this fight is having a mage tank on the High Nethermancer. Assign one mage and one good healer to attack the nethermancer. Whenever he pops dampen magic, the mage should spellsteal it. Because the bosses share a single health bar, have the mage continue to DPS down the nethermancer while being healed by their healer.
A few more tips
1) An ice mage works good here. Icy Veins and Frostbolt makes great DPS, and an ice shield can greatly negate damage taken from the nethermancer. But a fire mage would work fine, too.
2) You MUST assign ALL toons with interrupting abilities to the healer. If one of them is healed, they are all healed because of the health bar.
3) If you have a good, devoted healer, and a strong enough mage, you can neutralise the Nethermancer from the fight by having the mage steal all the threat. This can help a great amount, as the nethermancer will stop attacking the rest of your raid, leaving them free to stop heals and DPS the bosses down.
Really, this fight is all about which of the bosses will be the DPS target. The other bosses are just like extremely strong and persistant adds.

This weekend me and 3 guildies decided to go into BT for a good old fashioned romp. When we arrived at this boss, our mage decided to spell steal the dampen magic buff off of one of the adds. What happened after can only be described as comical. When he cast his spell steal all of the adds died instantly, i mean from 100% to 0%. Hands down one of the funniest things i have seen in WoW.

Well, I was in a small group running this the other day and we wiped with the council at about 33k. So we finally get back up, they've all reset back to full health. We prep, go in with an actual strategy this time and after about ten seconds they go from about 90% to dead instantly. Probably a bug, but who knows. It was quite funny.

I two manned the Council as an 85 DK with an 85 priest.
The key to this fight is to interrupt Circle of Healing by Lady Malande (the priest) every time she casts it, and focus all your attacks on just her or one other member (we only attacked her and the paladin).
Once we killed her, all of them died because they all share the same health bar.

We duo this fight every week with an item level 371 Blood Death Knight, 390 Elemental Shaman.
This fight can be frustrating but isn't too bad. I can't really break it up into phases because we just zerg them and take them down.
Main things we do it blow all our cooldowns, use lots of AOE, and interrupt Lady Malande's circle of healing. The entire Council shares the damage they receive so the more you can put out to all of them the better. We focus our attacks on Malande so it's easier to interrupt her healing, but you'll have to peel off periodically when she gets blessing of protection. They share a common health pool so once one goes down they all go down.
Full video of the fight here:

- I was pretty sloppy in this video, but it'll give you a basic idea of what to expect. :)

We had come here duoing Black Temple and thought we had smooth sailing after the reliquary of souls. When we reached this fight, however, we found this to be much more difficult. On paper, it should be a joke for level 85s. However, it is currently glitched in three noticeable ways:
1. As mentioned above, the council members will maintain their hit points even after a wipe. This means that if you get them to 50% and your group wipes, they will instantly drop to 50% after the next pull.
2. They constantly heal themselves for what seems to be circle of healing -level damage. This makes the DPS requirement for this fight much higher as this healing is unavoidable. Malande will continue to cast healing circle and should be interrupted. There will need to be a consistent 20-25k DPS coming from the group in order to beat this unexplainable healing.
3. The council members will continue to live after being brought down to one hp. The group will have to continue to dps them even at this point. They appear invulnerable, but are not. Be especially mindful of circle of healing here as they can easily jump 200-400k hp in a matter of seconds when you almost had them dead.

Me and a friend two manned BT Friday, August 24 2012 and decided to take on the Illidari Council head on with all CD's popped before initiating the fight. We hit the pally once, and the fight was over.
We seemed to have one shot the whole council
, but only 28k damage was dealt. I'm not sure if this was a bug, but it was extremely hilarious. I have a screenshot with the DBM time in the chat box. If anyone knows a way to post a screenshot within forum rules, please let me know. Because I will be glad to share.
I want to know if this has happened to anyone else?

I should probably add that I had cast Dark Simulacrum (Blood DK) on the healer in hopes of interrupting the first spell that was cast. Instead of interrupting, I assume this is what had killed them. Spell Steals may be these guy's weakness.

Solo'd by a 90 Enhancement Shaman with 473 ilevel gear, using the kiting strategy. Focused on Gathios the paladin the whole time, took long enough to pop wolves twice, but not by much. Just heal when Maelstrom is at 5 and use wolves or Ancestral Guidance is wolves are down. Ascendence + Ancestral Guidance is always great for healing up in a bind.
Just make sure you're on the bottom level when you kill Gathios or you won't be able to loot the second corpse.

As a warlock with ilvl 463, it is impossible to solo them. it seems Lady Malande can heal and attack from any where. Her spells have no range limit and can go through wall. i used the kite strategy as an afflix warlock, running around keeping the dots on the pally. all other 3 bosses follow me wherever i go, only Lady Malande is not moving. but she can still heal and attack. although my dots can out damage her healing, but very slow.

I soloed this fight on a item level 461 Ret Paladin(Level 90). Was not too easy, I just kited Gathios the Shatterer around in a big circle (like many guides have said to do) and eventually he died! Took a while, just had to hold the Templar's Verdict, and heal with Word of Glory almost every time. That alone could make the fight seem longer, besides the annoying heals he receives. Just keep going and eventually he should die if you can do a little more damage than her heals. Best of luck champs.

Was able to solo this as a destro lock with a 453 ilvl. i.e fresh 90. I just stayed on the paladin the entire time since he never bubbles himself and dps'd through the heals. Since chaos bolt takes chunks of his hp at a time, the only challenge was staying alive long enough. I also used Havoc a couples time on the priest then continued dpsing the the paladin for double chaos damage. I wish I was able to start the fight with full embers (it would have been a way shorter fight) but I died a few times trying to dps the priest then switching to other targets when she gets bubbled. Since I did not have an interrupt for the heals I figured I'd just try dpsing through them, which worked fine.
I used my Voidlord to help keep the pally and rogue off me (i used the supremecy talent since I knew I would not be sacrificing any pets). I called out my terrorguard once the paladin was down to 400k and popped my dark soul everytime it was up. I guess the entire encounter took about 4-5 min since I was able to use my dark soul at the start and sometime close to the end. Other than that I used my healthstone and healing pot to stay alive. As well a glyphed health funnel for my pet (every CD) and both of us getting heals from Chaos bolts/Incinerates with the Soul Leech talent. And staying out of the mages flamestrike, blizzard. I was able to absorb the holy damage with Twilight Ward. A fully geared destro lock would probably be able to burn them down fairly quickly. I was able to do it in 450 blues and the 458 alch trink, which probably helped out alot with the increased healing pot effect it gives.
I didn't do any special positioning or kiting. I just killed them where they stood.

Just solo'd them as a Prot Warr. 480K hp, second wind was able to keep me between 25%-35% the whole time. I focused on the priest and interrupted her heals but in hindsight, I didn't even have to do that. They simply cannot out dps the healing of second wind.

soloed this fight without too much trouble on a 90 affliction lock, ilvl 485. I'd soloed it once before at ilvl 470 or so with the same strat.
I sent my voidwalker on the rogue to start with and dps'd the paladin. blow all cooldowns right from the start. the void will quickly switch to the paladin and tank them both for a while. toward the end when the paladin was down to maybe 3-400k hp his hp started to stabilize, and I had to heal my void a few times. then after maybe 30s to a minute i got him below 20% and once i switched to soul drain it was over.

Solo'd as a level 90 Beastmastery Hunter:
Pet: Spirit Beast
At level 90 your dps should be sufficient enough to out dps Lady Malande's heals. I recommend focusing on Gathios the Shatterer so that you can burst through his cooldowns and not worry about silencing Lady Malande. Make sure you use all your cooldowns on Gathios, such as Stampede, Bestial Wrath, trinkets... everything! Using Widow Venom shot & Snake Trap is a plus!
Once your health begins to decrease use your Spirit Beast's Spirit Mend to heal yourself. Target yourself, cast Spirit Mend, return to target. I recommend using a macro rather than relying on your pets auto-cast because your pet may use Spirit Mend on itself.
Around 25% switch to Lady Malande, forcing Gathios bubble her. Once she is bubbled, switch back to Gathios for the kill. By doing this you avoid Gathios from bubbling himself long enough to kill him. Damage to all 4 in the last 25% is helpful but not necessary if you can get a large amount of burst damage on Gathios.

Solo'd a 475 ilvl Brewmaster Monk quite easily.
Just concentrate on the priest, keep interrupting her heals. Also, the Glyph of Guard helps to keep your heals up and makes none of the AoE's hit you very much.

I managed to kill the council with my rogue. iLvl 485, mostly LFR and valor rewards gear, assassination spec. Here's a few notes:
I focused on
击碎者加西奥斯
and ignored everyone else.
I maintained
at all times and used
毒刃
on cooldown to improve the healing effects from
.
I had
as my lvl60 talent: this allows an immediate second use of
闪避
, which is useful to mitigate the physical damge from
击碎者加西奥斯
and
维尔莱斯·深影
, who sometimes joins the fray, even as you are kiting
击碎者加西奥斯
.
It also allows you to use
暗影斗篷
twice in a row, which is helpful to avoid the damage from Consecration and Blizzard.
In 5.2 this is no longer true, but
暗影斗篷
now has a 60 seconds cooldown, so you can still use it twice during this fight.
Even with that, I had to vanish a couple times because I knew I would die first. I also wiped once when the council was down to 4K hp. Frustrating. Oh, and the bug that caused the council to not heal after a wipe has been fixed.
It went a TON better when I swapped my glyphs and used
被烧毁的雕文
. It made all the difference in the world. My two other glyphs were
被烧毁的雕文
and
被烧毁的雕文
. I did not use
佯攻
as much as I should have, though.
I do suspect combat is a better spec against them, because Blade Flurry would help a ton. It might even convince
击碎者加西奥斯
to bubble
维尔莱斯·深影
instead of himself. I will try that on the next lockout and post an update.
Edit: It's not that helpful. Most of the time you will only hit
击碎者加西奥斯
and the single-target dps of Assassination is significantly better. Also, remember that in 5.2,
you have to hit four additional targets with Blade Flurry to inflict an additional 100% of your main target's damage
Blade flurry deals 40% of your main target's damage to up to four additional targets instead of 100% to a second target. That would mean a much more static fight, which is tough because of Gathios'
奉献
and Zerevor's
暴风雪
.
EDIT: Ok, I did kill the council in 5.3 in combat spec. Pretty much a static fight: pop Blade flurry and hack away at Lady Malande. The problem is, my ilvl is currently 521, so no boss in this raid is remotely challenging at that point. I am sure it is doable as combat with a lower ilvl if you focus on Malande, circle around a bit to avoid
奉献
and
暴风雪
, and interrupt Malande when possible.

What I did:
Solo'd this fight 1-9-13 on 10m normal with a ret paladin, 466ilvl, some blues, pvp dps trinket, some LFR epics. DPS on recount showed 16.7k. Seal of insight, heavy use of word of glory(glyphed for dps boost), glyph of templar's verdict and blessed life(which had no use in this fight). Word of glory>Inquisition>templar's verdict.
Targeted the priest Malande, interrupted her AOE heal, circle of healing. Used talented fist of justice on the mage in the mean time. Switch to mage for single target if she used her bubble on herself. Long fight, but no where near as annoying as soloing normal 25man marrowgar. Used lay of hands twice and divine shield twice(also talented to lower CD while using certain abilities).
Not as impressive as the rogue solo mentioned in the comments, but it was fun.

I ran through BT solo today. The entire zone was easy as a Heroic geared (454) WW Monk, but this fight gave me a lot of trouble. I tried kiting, killing/interrupting the healer, and just staying on the paladin, but in each case I never got them down past 50%-ish before I was taking too much damage and died. My guess is this could be soloed by a better geared WW, its just a matter of out dpsing the heals.
I switched over to my main spec, MW, to see how that would work. My MW gear is a mix of LFR, heroic, and JP (474). My 1st attempt I found I could just stand in 1 place and never worry about health due to fistweaving healing. The problem was DPS, I wasn't really getting them down below 50% and eventually hit an enrage timer.
I went back to town, added on some int enchants I had neglected, and picked up some int food and an int flask. This time I had enough DPS to steadily drop their health down while just staying in 1 place and hitting the paladin. It was a long fight, and I was starting to worry about hitting the enrage again, but my 2nd
轮回之触
finished them off.
Maybe someone else can confirm this but my attempts to disrupt the healer's heals never worked. She seems to be immune to the monk interrupts.
TL;DR: For WW and MW monk, DPS is key. If you have enough then run in and DPS the paladin until you win. Illidan was easy, these guys should be the final boss!

I had some serious trouble on my ret paladin on this fight. On my monk, I decided to just jump in and see what happens (iLvL 475)...
My thought was: Jump in and burst as much as possible, having a heal now and then and using Dampen Magic. I dealt most of the damage using Spinning Crane Kick, as they all share one Life Pool it seemed to be the best tactics IMHO.
Just try it. It's not that hard but by far the hardest of all fights in BT.
You may also interrupt the priests heals to shorten the fight.

ilevel 483 arcane mage finally able to solo this (MoP 5.1)
For those of you having issues where they keep getting to 1% HP (but not dying), I suggest the following: dispel the mage's dampen magic.
This ability seems to cause things to go a little haywire in the actual fight with their shared health pools.
So an easy way to solo this as mage:
1) Cast rune of power near the council
2) Spellsteal the dampen magic buff off the mage
3) Go to your RoP and start killing the paladin
4) Use your CDs at 6 stacks and go to town with time warp
5) The mage will reapply dampen magic towards the end. Due to your spellsteal, you should be taking little to no damage. Simply spellsteal it again and DPS the mage
They should be dead after that. Good luck to everyone!

Went in as a ilvl 463 blood death knight with most pieces being tanking, but also had some dps gear. DId fairly well but I probably could of done better. I didn't bother using dispells or moving the bosses too much and just burned them to the ground three times so far. Hit the rage timer twice I believe. Had 444k health and the lowest I got down so far is about 50%.
The biggest thing is you have to keep your diseases up at all times and ensure Death and Decay is under the bosses to ensure maximum damage. Use Anti-Magic shell to absorb incoming magic and using the runic power towards any defensive abilities you got such as death coil while you have lichborne kicked in or Conversion, or if the damage is negligable use it towards Rune Strike. Spam blood boil to refresh diseases and deal even more damage if Crimson Scourge procs. If you are not taking a whole lot of damage and have a ton of Runic Power, spam Rune strike on your current target, which should be Gathios. However if Gathios has one of his blessings on himself switch to a different target to dump the Runic Power if you are aiming to spam Rune Strike. Save Death Strike for when Anti-Magic shell and your other defensive abilities are on cool down or you start taking a large amount of damage. If you want a tad extra dps, put the Rune of Spellshattering on your weapon. Fire off Army of the Dead right before you pull as you will most likely be able to pull it off again later in the fight. I also used Heart Strike frequently when I was not taking a lot of damage or didn't need to heal yet.
Keep the bosses in front of you as much as possible, Varas has a habit of disappearing and running up to you at odd angles so you may have to reposition to keep him and the others in front of you.
You may run the chance of hitting the enrage timer, however you should have them down to around 20% health by the time that happens. If you do hit the enrage you can just time your cool downs to outlast them.
Notes:
Gathios will occasionally strip your diseases off either himself or Milande and will occasionally make himself or again Milande immune to physical damage, however your aoe abilities will still tick on the other two. If you see this occur, do not waste your runes trying reapply diseases, and I recommend Roiling Blood for this fight as well as it makes it easier to reapply diseases once their buffs wear off and saves you time.
Hope this helps any death knights struggling with this fight.

Good advice for Hunters, regardless of spec (though Survival will do the best damage with
Improved Serpent Sting
+
Serpent Spread
) is to group the four council members together, burn
Gathios the Shatterer
and then when he's near death unload with
Multi-Shot
to get the others. Really helped me when I thought I was going to wipe like a noob :P

A few hunter suggestions that made a difference in soloing this fight for me:
1) Spec Exhilaration and put it on your action bar.
2) Take health potions, bandages and
Life Spirit
3) Remember to keep misdirect on your pet and heal him if necessary. Glyph of Mending, Animal Bond, and Misdirection may help in this fight. I used a wolf for the crit buff because my pet's health was never a huge concern, but you may prefer a tank.
4) Single-target focus on Gathios.
Keep Widow Venom on him at all times
- this made the biggest difference of everything I tried. Use Silencing Shot to interrupt Malande's healing circles if you feel it's necessary, but with Widow's Venom I was able to much more easily overpower her heals, and I didn't want to waste dps switching targets.
5) When Gathios is at 25 or 30 percent, pop CDs and kill Malande, then quickly finish off Gathios.
Before using these methods I wiped twice - at 9% on my first try and less than 1% on my second. With these adjustments my health never got below 50% and the fight was over in a minute and 49 seconds.

90 Feral Druid with iLevel 480 (mix of Valor and heroic 5-man gear). Specced Renewal (use when necessary) and Dream of Cenarius (use with 5 combo point Predatory Swiftness procs for healing).
This was by far the toughest fight in the Black Temple. It took me five tries (including one attempt where DBM reported that the Council was at 0%...), but I eventually won.
I stayed in Cat Form the entire time and healed when Predatory Swiftness procced. I also used every cooldown including: Barkskin, Survival Instincts, Renewal,
(from Herbalism), and a health potion. The fight was over 3 minutes long, so it would have been possible to use Survival Instincts and/or Renewal more than once (I didn't).
I only targeted Gathios the Shatterer. I ignored Lady Malande altogether, preferring to DPS through the heals. I didn't bother much with avoiding the AoE attacks, but if you can keep up the DPS while moving it would help. I just kept up the DPS and healed when Predatory Swiftness was up. Make sure to keep Rip and Rake rolling to help counter the heals.
Towards the end it was looking like I was going die while they were at 1 or 2%. In desperation, I tried throwing up a Rejuvenation while backing up. It popped me out of Cat Form, but it also kept me alive. As soon as the GCD was up, I shifted back into Cat and continued to DPS. I had to cast 3 or so Rejuvenations before I finally won. I was kind of surprised it worked, but the extra health rolling in was enough to keep me DPSing through the heals. I haven't tried this yet, but it might be possible to intersperse Rejuvenation casts throughout the fight - perhaps while moving out of AoE spells.
The other fights that gave me problems in the Black Temple were
古尔图格·血沸
and
伊利丹·怒风
himself.

I regularly solo this on my rogue, but only recently I've noticed that they only drop 1 piece of gear. I suspect that if you do not do any damage to any of the other bosses at all; you will only receive the one boss's loot whom you dealt damage to.
Or I could be wrong and they always only dropped one leggings? Seems too minor compared to the other bosses.

I wish I had chosen to focus on the plate wearer of the council because my only drop was the token for the Leggings of the Forgotten Vanquisher Classes: Rogue, Mage, Druid. This was a Tues morning before reset so I will go back and get those legs after noon (I hope).
Basically I just burned him down no problem.

Solo'd as a MM Hunter today and this was the only hard fight. Took me about 10 tries (but it was worth it and I got rewarded with the bow from Illidian:))
It's also worth mentioning that there's spirit of guy in the sewers after you enter the Raid instance. He can teleport you closer to them, so you don't need to run so much
492 item lvl with some enchants + Flask of springs bossom (+1000agi), well fed boost
I've followed the advice and started with Gathios.
1) misdirection on pet
2) rapid fire + trinket with agility boost
3) widow's venom all the time
4) stempede + serpent sting + the traps
5) kept dpsing with arcanes and glaives
I've switched to Melande when he was at the the kill shot dmg range
She wouldn't go down and would stay with like 1hp for a long time, then apparently the glaive toss also hit Gathios and they were all dead.
The last fight with Illidian was a piece of cake comparing to this
EDIT: The council dropped 3 (!) pairs of Leggings of Forgotten Vanquisher (useless for hunter)

Just solo'ed this as an 85 balance druid. Before you ask how an 85 could solo this, I'm decked out in MOP blues (such as Solianti's Insect Smasher), with full MOP top shelf enchants (including Jade Spirit and 600 inscription shoulder enchant). I have 13,511 SP, 36.62% haste, and 31.91% crit since the massive gear I'm sporting is playing by cata 85 rules.
Self-preservation is maintained primarily through Cenarion Ward, Rejuvenation, Barkskin on CD, and the occasional Healing Touch. Cenarion Ward is a must for solo'ing as it provides the most overall self-healing of that tier, and is available more often, for a smoother overall control of health pool. Plus, you can apply it well before a pull, giving you instant use on pull and quick ability to re-apply.
DPS was over 34k. Could've been higher, but I was fumbling under the pressure of such a nasty fight. Plus I haven't bothered to setup my UI via Button Forge, Power Auras, etc. Anyways, keep Sunfire and Moonfire up, cast Starfall and Astral Alignment on CD, and of course unload every Shooting Stars proc as soon as it happens.
As others have said, I just focused on Gathios. I saw his health get very low several times and hop back up. Just had to kept at it and eventually, all 4 fell. Very intense fight. On to Illidan.

The pain of this fight (as a ret pally) is mainly moving and mashing keys, but even more of a pain is that I've done it four weeks in a row without the paladin token dropping. Is it indeed the case that you have to kill a certain member to get a specific type of drop, or not?

Soloed this with no trouble as a WW Monk, 90 with avg 479 ilvl.
I cast Storm, Wind and Fire on Galthios and one of the other members. Then I just burned them down.

Soloed this on my first try (never even done Black Temple) as a 476 arms warrior (pvp gear lol). Second Wind for the win. I just attacked the paladin and kept dragging him along up the stairs and around.

If you want to solo this as a warrior, you need Second Wind. It's a must.

How to solo as a rogue:
- Pref go combat.
- Engage and dps Lady Malande
- Keep recuperate up at all times
- Use every spell at cd in order to reduce the dmg taken
- You might survive one BoP but you won't make through a second one so it's better to reset the fight.

solo primer
For all those who don't want to switch to Combat.
(ilvl 480 as of moment of writing)
This fight has rather spiky damage and the bosses keep healing themselves, the key is to have balance between damage and survivability. While at higher item levels it might be possible to burst the bosses down, at lower ilevel the following helped me down it:
夺命药膏
+
吸血药膏
, use
被烧毁的雕文
,
Keep moving through the fight, to get out of
奉献
,
暴风雪
and
烈焰风暴
Focus on
击碎者加西奥斯
(paladin), as he won't cast
保护祝福
on himself
Keep
up,
毒刃
on cooldown
备战就绪
at start followed by 2x
闪避
will help you minimize the damage further
Important!
Do not get too excited when the hp drops low, keep your cool and maintain the rotation. After one of the bosses reach 1-5% of hp, they still need to be dealt moderate amount of damage before they finally drop deadamage before they finally drop dead
Extras: Buffs, flask, healing or stat potion if you struggle with burst

Having only done this as combat and respeccing this weekend I successfully did this on my rogue as
subtlety
last night (497 ilvl, 4 pc lfr, 510 daggers). Took 3 tries to get it right.
Strat very identical to benkarioz regarding recuperate, shiv and leeching poison. CoS at start, evasion, combat readiness and then evasion again. Focus macro to kick healer and attack the mage the entire time interrupting every heal. After initial positioning I did not move remainder of fight.

After 3 wipes, I finally solo'd this as a retribution paladin in full PvP gear. And instead of giving a class-specific example, I'll try to contribute and condense some advice that may help all classes.
First, I don't see a way of finishing this fight if you don't have a consistent way to heal yourself. Either an instant heal, a HoT, or quick 1-2 second heal seems vital. Surviving solely on a potion (or similar combat heals) just won't work.
Second, you should have the ability to kite and fight.
Like many strategies have suggested, your main target is going to be
击碎者加西奥斯
as he will never cast BoP on himself. I just kept back-peddling up and down the ramp in the boss room, popping as many instant heals as possible when necessary.
Pay no attention to
女公爵玛兰德
. You're going to have to dps through her healing. Since she doesn't move around, it's dangerous to attempt to interrupt her heals. Staying in one spot and suffering through AoE attacks is going to make short work of you.
You must keep moving! This makes
高阶灵术师塞勒沃尔
ultimately useless, allowing him to only get a few arcane bolts off on you. This also seemed to help avoid
维尔莱斯·深影
, whom I didn't really notice during the fight.
Also as many have already said, keep your rotation going even when your target has reached 1 hp. I almost fell to them because I was getting too excited to finish them that I had failed to keep healing myself.
Lastly, don't hesitate to make a quick talent/glyph change if you need to.
I hope these guidelines help you destroy the Council and lead you to a glorious victory over Illidan! Good luck!

462 Ret Pally here...read your reports on the kill. Was able to do it first time. If you have kiting experience this will be a breeze. Decided to jump on the Pally right away and just kited him back and forth. The key is the healing for sure. As a ret you should be able to continuous heal while your doing lots of damage. Talents I used were Long Arm, Fist of Justice, Selfless Healer (MUST HAVE), Clemency, Holy Avenger (MUST HAVE), and Holy Prism (MUST HAVE). Basicaly every time I get 3 charges of holy power I use WoG to heal. Any time I have Selfless stacked 3 times I heal. Any time I have Holy Prism ready I use it. I never had to stop to heal. Put on SoT and run and kite. I also have Gift of the Naaru as a Draenei. When Avenging Wrath is on CD I just heal but when it isn't you need to DPS as much as possible. I don't use Inquisition until AW is ready. I also pop Guardian there as well. If you find yourself in trouble make sure to you Holy Avenger and start popping WoG's as much as possible. I never once looked around other than on the ground. Avoid all AoE as that is what you can really get hurt from.
Hope this helps!

So, just solo'd this today (June 17 2013) as a level 90 Frost Death Knight (ilvl 500). I just popped army and raise dead, targeted the healer, hit her with outbreak, pestilenced it to everyone else, dropped DnD and popped Unholy Blight. 31 seconds later they all dropped dead and I was at 37% health left out of 409.2k hp. No pots, or self-heals used. Just straight up zerg'd them.

Just a heads up when you are killing this boss, especially those farming for the leg tokens. If you only hit one boss you will only be able to loot that particular boss (usually 1 leg token). If you open up with some AoE right at the start and are able to hit all 4 bosses, then you will be able to loot all 4 mobs (usually 3 leg tokens and another piece of gear).
For the longest time I had been farming BT on my rogue. For this boss fight I would just open up single-target the paladin boss and start kiting him around the walkway never hitting any of the other boss mobs. I thought it was odd that this boss only dropped one leg token. Then I ran my enhancement shaman through BT a few weeks ago and realized that Lava Lash had spread Flame Shock to all 4 bosses. After killing the paladin boss (same way as my rogue) I had 4 bodies to loot.

BM hunter ilevel 480. Focused on Gathios as others mentioned, and healed myself with Exhilaration, and spirit beast.
I just wanted to add a litttle piece of advice that may help other classes. I used this
陶制碎片
because since this is a dps race to outheal the Lady priest, I found it very useful to add a terracota warrior as an extra dots.

If you're a rogue trying to solo this don't bother trying to kill Lady Malande since Gathios tend to buff her with
保护祝福
if you're only focusing on her. Instead spec into
暗影步
, focus your damage on Gathios (since he doesn't bubble himself) and use the following macro to interrupt Lady Malande's healing to make the fight easier for you:
#showtooltip Shadowstep
/target Lady Malande
/cast Shadowstep
/cast Kick
暗影步
is not on the GCD which makes a great combination with
脚踢
. I found it very useful since I am usually concentrating on running around, keeping myself alive and avoiding all the AoE. Of course it doesn't work if she does happen to get buffed with
保护祝福
.
Good luck!

Soloed this with my 85 blood DK in 417 ilevel gear including Jade Forest greens and auction house blues.
This is my favorite fight in Black Temple because it's not a simple tank and spank. You have to move around a lot to avoid AE damage.
Focus on Gathios the Shatterer because if you try to fight someone else he will
bubble
them but if you fight Gathios he won't
bubble
himself. Make sure to spread diseases around so you damage all of them or you won't be able to loot them all.
Stay on Gathios and avoid the AEs. When he gets to one hit point keep damaging him until they all drop dead.

Ridiculously easy as MW monk (iLvl 503). Just focused on Gathios, while sending the occasional Chi Burst over to the boss furthest away, generally Lady Malande, while keeping myself up with Renewing Mist and Gift of the Serpent. And with Blackout Kick doing damage to all four bosses at once, it didn't take longer than 2 minutes or so before they were down

soloed on my 85 mw monk. mostly 415 mop blues, 442 mace, chest and cloak, 450 off hand and bracers, so easily obtainable gear from the ah and definitely not a twink.
got 10 stacks of mana tea and 4 chi before the pull just for extra. just fistweaved gathios the whole time and brought him up and around by the door leading to illidan. blackout kick cleaved the rogue and occasionally the mage. 30k dps and 11k hps.

Just soloed as a lvl 90 demo warlock in questing greens, I found that i didn't have the damage to ignore Malande's healing and was having trouble surviving through all the damage they put out. In the end I did this:
Talents: Dark regeneration, Soul Link and Mortal coil
Glyphs: Drain life and demon hunting
engaged with felguard used felstorm and 2 hand of gul'dans, positioned myself close to the fight (so gathios wouldn't stun me) facing Malande.
spent the entire fight in Dark apotheosis form spamming drain life while my felguard tanked with soul link. made sure not to hit Malande with anything so Gathios wouldn't spell ward her (meaning i couldn't interrupt her casting), using demonic slash to keep my fury up.
use carrion swarm to interrupt circle of healing. Fury ward, mortal coil and healthstone were enough to keep me alive (but make sure to always have enough fury for carrion swarm).
at some point she will probably get spell warded and get a circle of healing through. when this happens just use hand of guldan and carry on dpsing.
took a LONG time (~11 mins) so use doomguard at the start of the fight (and probably put some music on in the background)
use aura of the elements but if you are having trouble timing the interrupts you might want to use Aura of enfeeblement instead.
soloed it second time using this tac. (first time i took to long and failed so hard on interrupts that they enraged at 15min and killed me)
Good luck

As a WW monk in 502 LFR gear, I found trouble at first because I only tried focusing on lady malande, the healer, and couldn't damage her well she was bubbled. So I tried another method, of focusing on the shatterer (paladin), moving around out of the fire, and using storm, earth and fire one on the mage to applied some more damage.
This method was far better then only focusing on the priest, and didn't need to interrupt her heals once, got them down without even needing touch of karma.

It's extremely easy for Arm Warrior, just Charge in, atk the paladin. Try to get them all 4 together.
use this rotation
drop a
-> Charge at the paladin ->
鲁莽
->
雷霆一击
->
->Bladestorm
when the bladestorm ends, they should be almost dead.

It was 17 seconds for me; I attacked the paladin, and with the additional AOE they went down. I did not use any stun, dispel, silence, just tank and spank the pally.

2-boxed this as a ilevel 463 druid tank and 492 ele shaman.
I noticed that these mobs were not dieing for at least a minute while I had them at 1% damage. So I noticed I didn't hit the mage at all during the fight. so I started nuking it and then they all died quickly. so make sure to hit all of the 4 mobs with at least an aoe at the start so you don't get bottle necked.

I would wager it as the toughest fight in Black Temple during its early years, it took my guild longer to defeat Illidari Council than it did to defeat Illidan--which was pure fun by comparison. In 2008, the Illidari Council was also that first boss fight other than Four Horsemen of original Naxxramas to feature deadly 'void zone' type of hazards, this time with fire.
If you weren't paying attention, and sat in the fire for longer than a couple seconds, you were dead. A well coordinated fight requiring all 25 people to partake in the action to defeat this boss and it was glorious victory upon its defeat.

Did this as a noob disc priest at lvl 90. I began running out of mana on this fight.
Only targeted the paladin (3rd from left). Pulled it by the ramp to dps. Kept moving out of the fire.
My health wasn't an issue.
Everytime the paladin's health went down to 1 it would go back up due to the healing.

Just solo'd tonight on my lvl 90 Rogue, iLvl 549. opened with Ambush, on Gathios the Shatterer, then used Adrenaline Rush + Shadow Blades, and burned him down, with Blade Flurry up just in case, and kept burning him down. I didn't even need Killing Spree, b/c they all died fast. I never got hurt much. :)

If you are soloing this and your health suddenly drops, chances are you're killing yourself with this:
反射之盾
... courtesy of Lady Malande. I recommend to not burn-DPS her for this very reason, but you still must switch to her when she casts
治疗之环
to interrupt. Remember to change targets afterwards. A macro could help with this.
If you have a combat pet I suggest that you let it pull Gathios to get rid of him, and most probably of Veras as well, for the remainder of combat. Then focus on Zerevor with all you have. Keep an eye on Lady Malande to interrupt her healing and you should be ok.

As a Ret Paladin (ilvl 543), this fight got immensely easier with 6.0.2, not that it wasn't before. But now just pop cooldowns and spam Hammer of the Righteous and Divine Storm, plus whatever filler you like. It's still nice to have an interrupt macro, just in case, but you probably won't need it.

Tank and spank with Enhancement shaman ilvl 315. Was extremely frustrating as none of my interrupts seemed to work against Lady Malande so it was just a matter of time and effort to down these guys.
Overall I switched between each one, especially when Lady Malande had her shield up. Otherwise it was just a matter of sticking to the DPS and not getting discouraged. I don't think my health went below 90% the whole time.
