You can now tame this pet as a part in the Core Hound family in the PTRs or the Wrath of the Lich King beta as of now. This pet can only be tamed as Beast Mastery as it is part of the Exotic Pets classification. You can also find this mob at Azuremyst Isle, in the Stillpine Hold.

just for all you horde hunters out there. to get to the cave youll need to catch a boat at Auberdine. Just run in with ur mount and when u reach the very end of the dock feign death. the boat u want is at the very end. from there just run north till u see a cave and a base with those bear humaniods (cant remember wat there called).
this guys isnt as big as big as u would think about the same hight as a orc. but fortunetly he is the same hieght as the rest of the corehounds.

The best way I found to do this is as was suggested, (thank you Mcslashed) to go under the dock in darkshore (unequip all your items first) drown, run back stand on the very edge of the dock, when the boat arrives, walk onto it, stand by the first pole you come to, (on the side that has the stairs going upt ot the wheel) you will be just out of aggro range of hte lvl 65's by there, wait till the boat starts to pull away, rez and enjoy. Even if by some freak of nature they DO attack you , chances are you will live long enough for the screen to cut out and drop you off in azuremyst.
Keep in mind though, if you do manage to avoid being flagged and ganked on the boat, you are in for a treat when you get to the cave, all the furbolgs outside are alliance pvp flagged, so stepping foot in the cave at all (unless stealthed) makes you a potential alliance chew toy,
Other than that, Enjoy the cool looking pet~!

I got this little kitten this night, eventually at 2:15 am nobody was stalking him. The tip for the boat was a HUGE save of time, i was about to take another one.
One other thing i would suggest to do is to be very careful of wich path do you take to Silverpine Hold, try not to pass too close to the Exodar, guards are Lvl 75 (as of patch 3.02? were they 75 even before the patch?) with fairly wide aggro radius.
Other than this, sneaking into the cave is no big deal if you're high leveled, just climb a bit the hill and get down directly into the entrance, no fight with furbolg, no "Silverpine Hold is Being Attacked".
Nice pet, i would expect some more damage output but i guess this lack is due to the 5 level gap between me and Kitty..i tamed a devilsaur too, just to be sure...

I am testing out the new exotic pets and i really like this one. the only thing that i see as a problem is the lava breath ability. currently, if you tell this pet to attack an enemy that is more than 30 yards away, it will move forward, pause, then move forward again until it gets close enough to use the lava breath. this can be annoying if you are using dash at the same time. so it might be good to turn off dash or hope they fix this soon.

Lvl 60 Horde Hunter here and I just tamed this guy last night. As others have stated, just head to Darkshore and take the boat at the very end of the dock at the Alliance town of Aberdine to Azuremyst Isle. You will draw aggro but just out run them and hop on the boat. I stayed in the middle of the boat and I didn't draw aggro whatsoever. When you get to Azuremyst isle, simply head to the middle of the island and then head north. There will be a camp of Furbolgs there with a cave. They are all extremely low level so don't even worry about drawing aggro. Just head into the cave and Kurken is waiting for you at the back of it.
I thought this was going to be really hard but it's not. Couple things that helped, I went very late at night on the server so there was no alliance players around. Other thing to do is to bring a throw away pet just in case you run into a pvp situation or if you need to battle the guards. If you do draw aggro from the guards, in many cases, just feign death and you'll be good to go.
He is absolutely awesome looking and does glow white. I think he's much better looking than all of the green, acid dripping corehounds other hunters are running around with.
Good Luck!

Ok... just thought I would post this so others can avoid making the noob mistake I did.
Respecc... make sure that your talent points are added up so that Beast Mastery is included.
If all your talent points are in BM then Zipping through Auberdine shouldn't be an issue (take one or two and put them in pathfinding), Neither is tanking the Guards, Especially if you went to Outland at 58 and have the better gear.
No crew from the boat attacked me. On and off No problems. Both times
I also did this early am monday morning... so no Players on the Island.
Fun Pet, he rips face, I highly recommend Kurken the gurken.

just got this puppy after hitting level 60, was easier than i expected. did what other people suggested- mounted up, ran through the elf inn to the end of the dock (just run straight ahead unless you want to end up in SW or teldrassil) and feigned death to drop guard aggro (only level 40s). stayed in the middle of the boat, no aggro, no problems. somehow one of the furblogs in front of the cave flagged me, even though i didn't attack him, but it wasn't a problem. the whole time i ran into only one alliance, a level 14 draenei, and this was a saturday morning.
from the back he looks a bit like Spike from Tom & Jerry.

As a horde player, you'll have to get pass much guards and stuff to get on the boat from auberdine to Azuremyst, but I guess that won't be much of a problem since you'll only go tame him at 60+ or so (correct me if I'm wrong), Was pretty hard when I went Bloodmyst with my lvl 20 troll just to tame one of their Ravagers.
A very cool pet, indeed, GL.

As a orc hunter this is how I got this guy: I swam out under the dock and drowned myself. In spirit form I ran back and got on the boat in the middle and resurrected. The mobs on the boat paid no attention to me. when I arrived in Azuremyst Ile I jumped off the boat and swam to shore. I used track humanoids to ovoid any other characters (all mobs I think as I did this at 5am). When I arrived at the furblolg camp I ran wide open into the camp on my swift wolf until I auto dismounted. As far as I could tell they did not agro at all, though I was not looking back. The cave itself is full of owl beasts. They were so low level that they ignored me. I made my way to the back of the cave, tamed him, and hearthed home with no problems what so ever ;)

If you are heading to Azuremyst Isle, they've added road signs in the middle of the Auberdine docks, pointing out the correct docks for Stormwind, Azuremyst, and Teldrassil. For Azuremyst, just run straight after running through the Auberdine Inn.

go to auberdien, go to the very west end of the dock, hop on the boat and stay to the left side of the boat in the corner just as you walk on so as to not catch aggro from the shipmates. wait. hop off, run to the spot, tame.
tamed him no problem as a 62 hunter, only took one or two hits from an accidentally aggro'd lvl 40 auberdien guard using the path specified.

Short guide for those who are not familiar with alliance zones:
Fly from Orgrimaar to Zoram Outpost in Ashenvale
Run north across the border to Darkshore - either by the main road or by the narrow pass next to Blackfathom Deeps instance
Get close to Auberdine (half-way up the Darkshore shoreline)
Approach Auberdine from south-south-east, stop near the flight-master platform and wait there until the ship to Azuremyst Isle arrives at the "west terminal" (with maximum view-distance you can barely see it at the very end of the walkway). Take good care - the walkway is cross-shaped, the south terminal goes to Stormwind, north term goes to Darnassus, you want to watch the farthest, the west one.
As soon as the ship arrives, mount up and run through the inn and hit the walkway, run all the way to the ship and stop right at the middle of the ship at the mast. The Auberdine sentinels will not follow you to the ship, the marines will not aggro you.
Arriving at Azuremyst Isle, there are no guards at the landing. Just run from the ship to the shore and keep heading east until you hit the lake. Run around it in the north-east heading and keep that heading until you hit the road from Azure Watch to Stillpine Hold (check the map above).
Keep on the road heading straight north and you will see the cave mouth right ahead. The guards there are low level and probably will not even aggro you. Enter the cave and keep going straight north and do not ascend anywhere.
Kurken is at the farthest end of the cave. Tame, HS and enjoy your companion :)

Other than that, no issues with ally NPC's the whole way there.
A owl beast slapped me once in the cave as I was starting at The Kurken - but that's it. Heh.
Just an update, There are 2 level 75 and (the boat you want is straight at the end of the pier) 2 level 65 guard's on the boat. Just run on it & stand in the middle, as has been mention before they will not attack.
I tamed him today, he's freeking great! One of the best looking pets in the game IMO ;)

would a DK lvl 55 or what ever it is when you start be able to tank the ally guards cuz my friend just made one... so basicly could a lvl 62 and a lvl 55 DK do it
Edit...
was able to solo at lvl 62 by using a trash Worm pet to kill all the guards then jumped on the boat u must go stand by that pole in the midle of the boat or u will pull and die.
it was late at night so i didn't even encounter any low lvl draneis on the way... when i got to the cave i made my pet agro all of the little gaurds and then made him thunderstomp then i vollyed the 1s that wern't already dead
i then went in the cave and tamed... make sure ur hearth is up or u bring a scroll of home or what ever it is to port u to ur home.
Update:
i currently have the molten core core hound, uvuros, and a wolf and a rhino and i cant remember my 5th pet... i had to abandon this guy to make space. my suggested name for ur core hound if u cant think of 1 is Fluffy

Keep in mind that you'll have to level him up five levels. I recommend doing this on mobs that are roughly his level rather than yours. Otherwise you'll constantly pull aggro off of him. Even with Aspect of the Viper up, and nothing but Serpent Sting and auto-shot, I was pulling aggro for his first few levels.
Of course, you could just use it as an opportunity to practice your kiting!

I'd also like to add.... in regard to dealing with the guards, you not only have feign death, but Deterrence as well. You can also place a freezing trap and then disengage if you're really in a crunch. Concussive shot is also useful if you need to slow a guard down.

While the Kurken is listed as being of type "Core Hound", as of this writing, it does not appear to have been given the pet ability "Ancient Hysteria".
Currently you have to choose one of the other core hounds in the game if you want this pet ability.
Personally, I hope Blizzard fixes this because I really like the skin on the Kurken much much more than the green or red core hound skins. The Kurken looks like Cerberus the three headed dog from Greek mythology.

For the Horde trying to get to Azuremyst Isle to tame him in 4.0.3, these are the only 2 routes that I know of atm (until we can fly there). **Remember you need to have
Beast Mastery
to tame him as he is considered exotic.
Elixir of water walking
or some sort of water walking ability will help greatly with both routes.
1. **Note: this route should NOT pvp flag you
Take the Flight path from Orgrimmar to
Zoram'gar Outpost
in Ashenvale. From there run north to
Lor'Danel
in Darkshore.
Use the
Elixir of water walking
to run North West from the point on the map linked above (45 degrees to the left). You should get there with just enough fatigue to recover before entering Teldrassil.
The dock that takes you to Azuremyst Isle is the
West
dock.
As a 48 hunter, the level 85 elite sentinels saw right through feign death, so I just ran as fast as possible on my mount to the end of the dock before dying. As a ghost, if you take the same route across the water you will make it to the dock before fatiguing out. Unless you attack the sentinels back you will remain unflagged and can wait on the dock at your leisure till the boat comes :)
2. **You
WILL
be flagged since this route goes through Stormwind
Take the Zeppelin from Orgrimmar or Undercity to
Grom Gol base camp
. From there it's probably easiest to also use
Elixir of water walking
and run along the coast north to Stormwind.
Coming from the coast you will be lead right to the
docks
that take you to Teldrassil. You WILL be flagged since you are entering alliance territory, so you will have to worry about other players as well as the 85 elite guards. If you do suicide in, again try to die as close to the boat as possible. Prepare to ghost walk across all of Elwynn forrest back to the dock.
Once on the boat and at Teldrassil, make your way left to the
West
dock. Then enjoy your ride to Azuremyst :)
To be noted:
Sentinel Brightgrass
(level 55 non-elite guard on the boat to Stormwind) WILL agro! If you are 80 this will not affect you much but as a 48 hunter, her knock back and net weren't fun :(
In short:
Teldrassil docks:
West
dock takes you to Azuremyst
South
dock takes you to Stormwind.
(There is an East dock but the boat does not move, purely decorative atm)
Hope this helps on your travels :)
PS. I can't wait till I can just fly in and avoid all this baloney! RAWR!

If you want to quiet this guy, here's the way I'm doing it:
Be warned though, this quiets everything that uses these sound files, including Devilsaurs, bosses, mobs, etc. I really don't know how many things use this. Though it's probably negligible.
Part 1: Getting the Sound Files
1) Download an MPQ editor, like zuzula's
2) Use it to open C:/Users/Public/Games/WorldofWarcraft/Data/Sound.mpq
3) Extract the 5 .ogg files in this directory: Sound/Characters/footsteps/GiantFootSteps
4) Use a sound editor like Audacity to De-Amplify the sounds (I used Amplify -30 to make it fairly soft but still audible)
Part 2: Making WoW think you know how to mod (e.g. the easy recreation bit)
1) Go to your WoW folder, that's C:/Users/Public/Games/WorldofWarcraft/Data
2) Make a file path within this folder that EXACTLY matches the one that was in the MPQ, when you are done you should have: C:/Users/Public/Games/WorldofWarcraft/Data/Sound/Characters/footsteps/GiantFootSteps
3) Remember: This is caps sensitive!
4) Put the quiet homemade versions of the 5 sound files inside the GiantFootSteps folder you just made.
5) This should force WoW to use the modified sounds and result in a happy hunter :D

I just got this pet yesterday. Things you'll need:
- An extra set of armor
- Patience
- A friend
- A flying mount
Reading it from the other posts here it seemed liked the trip itself was going to be very rough but it wasn't actually all that bad. All you have to do is make sure you fly high enough so that when you're over Stormwind you won't get shot down by some guard. If you do, resurrect at the graveyard and try again. Once you're near the docks maintain a safe distance away from the ship and survey who is getting on or off. If it looks clear, land at the back of the ship. The first time I did this we landed on the sails (friend's idea) and the ship moved without them, but I was still on it. The person in the back will not attack you even if they are red. I didn't venture down to the main part of the ship but as long as you don't provoke anyone somehow, your presence on the ship should be alright. Once you arrive in Rutheran village you will need to find another ship that takes off. If you are at the deserted one with no people on it, you are obviously at the wrong dock. Once you find the dock that takes you to Azuremyst, the Kurken is located in a cave with a bunch of level 8 moonkins running about. It's almost like he's their dog or something. Along the way I died several times, but I was also doing all of the exploration to get the achievements. I would recommend doing them as you probably never want to come back.

Well, since no one has posted on this topic since 2008, I figured I would share my experience in 2011.
I left WoW shortly after TBC was released and have just come back to the game in the last two weeks. My first character was my Troll Hunter (who is now a Goblin) and I have always had a soft spot in my heart for Rare/Rare Model pets. When I found out that there is was an "Exotic Pets" training Talent I knew that I had to get it.
Here's how I got to train The Kurken, post-cataclysm with no Potions and a normal flying speed mount:
1) Fly to Darkshore (technically, I used the Lunar Festival Portal to Moonglade and then flew from Moonglade to Winterspring and then flew over the mountains, but there are many ways to skin that cat.)
2) Fly north past Lor'danel (51,18) - Flying over sentinels or too close to Lor'danel will automatically activate your PvP flag. You will eventually get flagged anyway, but if you care about staying out of PvP as long as possible, try to avoid them.
3) Just prior to crossing the "sea" boundary line, check the World Map and make sure you are aimed North-Northwest at the smaller island off of Teldrassil where Rut'theran Village is located.
4) Start flying and don't stop. With a normal Wind Rider you should make it from Lor'danel to Rut'theran Village with about 5-10 seconds to spare. I will assume a faster mount would make the aiming not as important.
5) Once safely over shallow water, fly to the Western Boat Dock (52, 89) where the Elune's Blessing should be docked. If its not there, it will be shortly, so just wait.
6) Board the ship. To avoid any problems, I parked my Wind Rider on the bow of the ship. Which interestingly enough, did not aggro any of the Mariners. I guess sailors are sailors and don't really care who rides their boat. The Boat will then zone into Azuremyst Isle.
7) Once in the zone, wait until you get a little close to shore to jump ship. Flying mounts do not work in this zone, so jump off prior to the dock and swim to shore where you can mount up on your land mount.
8) Follow the path East out of Bristlelimb Village until it turns into a dirt path and head North to Azure Watch. Give Azure Watch a wide berth because there are hidden guards that will appear out of nowhere if you aggro someone in the village.
9) Continue North until you hit the mountain range and head right into the cave. Follow the middle path through the cave and there's your shiny new two headed, fire breathing, Ancient Hysteria invoking puppy!
10) Train him and then enjoy watching him breath fire and eat all the Wildkin on the way out of the cave.
I hope this helps Horde hunters post-Cataclysm that want to train this very cool looking pet.

Easy way to do this:
You of course have the talent, blah blah, cold weather flying, old world flying..
1. Go to Warsong Hold in Borean Tundra.
2. Fly to the main Ally base, the harbor one, I forget what the hell it's called.
C. Fly up to the crow's nest, up on top of the ship.
H. When the boat reaches SW harbor, fly towards the Teldrassil boat and land off on the left side , this is below the topmost deck, on the side of the boat above where the rear windows are. You'll be mostly out of sight this way.
43. Once the boat arrives in Ruther'an (whatever) Village go to the far western boat. Fly to the top, sit on the upper mast, again you're out of the way up there, no aggro. The boat reaches Azuremyst, jump off into the water. Mount up, and off you go! No hassles! Everyone else has said where to go from here.
Enjoy your ridiculous white two-headed Pomeranian!

Unlike other corehounds (bar Chromaggus) this pet does not make constant "firey" noises. Instead it has a white "frosty". The stomping while walking remains.
One wonders how this cold-based creature spits lava.

He's a pain to get to as of the Cataclysm patch. I found the easiest way as a horde was to walk across the sea between Auberdine and Teldrasil. from there grab the boat to the Dreani place (forgot the name, itll be the furthest boat from the dock). Aside from that he's a good pet I feel. If you don't mind people asking where he's from that is :D

With the new changes in Cata, namely in Auberdine, this pet went from piece of cake to little easier than blowing hell's flame out. You'll need to go Stormwind -> Darnassus -> Exodar for him, watch out if you're low level because Stormwind guards are ranged and can (and will) one shot you if you fly too close to them.

Just tamed this fella tonight.
Its quite the adventure getting to his location and ive been referenced to a couple ways. But heres how i did it and took all the brainstorming and bs out of the equation. It took me 15 mins to accomplish this.
First thing i done was buy a walk on water elixir from the AH.
Second: i flew from orgrimmar to zoram'gar outpost.
Third: once landed i mounted up and went north towards auberdine following the darkshore shoreline. Now, your indicator of where to run across the water left to teldrassil on your mini map, is the curved bend of shallow water top of your map just before you get to lor'daneal (its the last bend of shallow water top of map before gettin to lor'denael.) Thats the point you wanna travel from goin northwest across the sea to the shore of teldrassil. Youll begin to exhaustbut on your mount running across water youre in no danger and reach easily. Now when you reach ashore on your mount the first boat dock you see is NOT the one you want, its an idle boat and isnt goin anywhere. Its the one around (past) and to the right of that boat. Youll see it coming in front of you, i advise to swim past it and come ashore of it to the right. Theres guards at the mouth of the entrance of the dock so you dont want to go that way, jump on the dock from the halfway point then wait at the edge for the boat. No mobs will bother you and the mobs on the boat act as if youre not even there.
Fourth: when you arrive in azure you wanna bring up your map and go north of the map to steel pine hold. When you get there youll see a wooded cave entrance surrounded by low level furbolgs. Go straight into the entrance and then youll wanna take the first entrance you come to that bears left and down (first entrance youll see on left). Once you go down and around youll see your furry friend waiting for you in that area. so...tame, name and hearth. done.
I named my furry lava breathing friend "Drago" derived from the russian assasin ivan drago in rocky 4.
cheers to the victors...

Best way to get to Azuremyst Isle btw is to fly to Ruttheran Village on Teldrassil and then catch the boat from the most northern pier. Easy to find at the end of the left-hand cave as stated below.

IS tamable, however, you will need the Beast Mastery ability "

I hope this helps hunters in the future.

Note that if you simply look at the map here at wowhead it looks like you need to go behind the mountain range there to get him, but actually you want the inland side, as he's actually in a big cave. Once inside the cave just follow the path and drop down when you get to the fallen tree bridge.

You WILL need
奇珍异兽
in order to tame this beast. Kurken is a very cool pet and would be nice to get for lower level beast masters until you can tame spirit beasts. Why should you tame The Kurken?
-Due to his low NPC level you can tam him with no troubles, no need to lay down and ice trap in my opinion but still may.
-He does very well for DPS, and has a special ability called,
which i find very helpful when in a battleground facing other players such as mages or warlocks with casting time spells.
-Being a uniquely different beast from the other and having two heads with the light blue smoke, etc. He seems very intimidating compared to your normal pet!
Hunt on!

Requirements:
Minimum level 69 (for

)
At level 69 you can already use flying mounts, so you don't need any Elixir of Water Walking or that sort.
1. Head to 39,81 - 12,85 near the Ruins of Auberdine in
黑海岸
.
2. From this point head North West untill you reach Rut'theran Village in
泰达希尔
.
3. In Rut'theran Village take the boat at the most West located dock, to reach Azuremyst Isle.
4. When you have reached
秘蓝岛
, head to Stillpine Hold and enter the cave. The entrance is located at 45,50 - 19,50.
5. In the cave you will find The Kurken.

OK I just did this one. I'm at present a lvl 72 Hunter "Horde" with BM. I had to add this guy to my Core Hound stable! Here's what I did.
Flew to Darkshore, and found the narrowest part of the "dark water" at Lor'Danel, then flew across the dark water and steered towards Rut'Theran Village. You'll suffer fatigue but you'll get there with plenty to spare.
Then I flew to the west side of the island and landed on the back of the boat and stayed in the corner so I didn't aggro the captain who was there.
Took the boat to Azuremyst Isle and road my mount to the cave. Can't fly there apparently! Ran into the cave without aggro'ing the guys standing outside. Had to kill one inside that just wouldn't get out of my way and there was Kurken!
Then just used my Hearthstone to get home.
So far I've got:
Kurken
Uvuros
Magmagan
Gomegaz
Chromhound
I love the fire breathing and lava dripping out of their mouths!

Just tamed that beauty on my lvl20
Horde
BM-Hunter. I went to the north-west corner of Darkshore. Mounted up and started swim-jumping my way tu Rut'theran. Jumping on a swimming mount is a bit faster than just swimming and I made it to the other side w/o dying due to fatigue. Stay in the water and swim to where the ship will be and go on land at this point. Otherwise the guards will kill you as a lowlevel. Then just head over to Azuremst Isle and you are good to go.
(Taming Exotic Beasts doesn't have a level requirement anymore, being Beast Mastery is enough.)

It is possible for a level 20 Horde trial account to get this pet. Just plan on dying a few times.
I was unable to make it from Darkshore to Rut'theran Village in Teldrassil by walking across the water.
Fatigue kept killing me and/or my ghostly remains before I could get close enough.
I ended up taking the boat from Stormwind to Rut'theran Village in Teldrassil intead.
Start at NW corner of Westfall and swim up to the boat dock. High level guards will kill you in pretty much one shot. Keep running and dying farther and farther down the dock until you die right at the end of the boat dock.
Rez when the boat comes, and run onto the boat and to the left and hide in the back of the boat.
You'll die again when you get off the boat at Rut'theran Village in Teldrassil, but rez at the graveyard because you'll be on the opposite end of the docks, which is where the boat to Azuremyst arrives.
Once you make it onto the boat, the guards wont bother you, even though they are really high level.
I guess Blizz decided to take it easy on Horde for that trip.
Then just get off in Azuremyst, and make your way to the cave!

Comeuppance
Easy, simple, fast, flag-free (at least at 110) easy (Horde) taming expedition.
Important notes, first:
* Make sure you have an open tamable pet slot before you leave
unless you want to permanently abandon a pet when you get there.
* You cannot fly directly from any part of the larger Kalimdor continent to Azuremyst Isle
(You will hit an invisible wall.)
Steps:
Go to the North-Northwest corner of Darkshore around (40,12)
Zoom out on your map and
point yourself towards the tiny island on the SE corner of Teldrassil (Rut'Theran Villiage), waterwalk or fly there.
You will hit a patch where your fatigue bar kicks in but you will get you through it just fine.
There are three docks here, but
the boat that takes you to Azuremyst is on the West side of the port, around (52,89)
Wait for the boat. Get on the boat. Wait for the boat to leave while you're on it.
You cannot fly in Azuremyst
so your ground mount will be your mode of transport.
The cave entrance is at (45,19).
The outside and inside have NPCs fighting NPCs.
Go in, head North
to the back of the cave where there is a separate area of the cave and
The Kurken will be inside around (56,43)
and he will either be dead, about to spawn, or alive and ready to be tamed.
Tame, hearth home.
To ensure you avoid being flagged, in case level 10 Alliance players terrify you:
Jump off the boat before it hit the docks, run up the shore,
avoid the Exodar area on the map as you will be auto-flagged for PVP
. head East until you hit the intersection point of the three small ponds that are central to this zone, and then head North-North-East to the cave entrance.

If you like going all out as a lowbie hunter it is worth taming this guy (even as Horde) ..to visit the spacegoat starting area to get this guy and a moth at level 12. That way you can both battle res and lust in your dungeons. lol ...at level 12. Or it might be level 18 when you can have 2 pets with you. So maybe wait until level 18. It's worth it to get a moth while you're there. :) Either
蓝翼巨蛾
or
鲜艳的蓝翼巨蛾
if you want a blue moth or
峡谷蛾
if you prefer grey.
Trying to tame the level 22
尘翼
isn't as easy a camp as the comments on the page let on. At least for me. I waited a number of hours and never say it spawn.
So getting to Azuremyst and Bloodmyst?
As Horde post-Cataclysm:
If you have the waterwalking mount you can cross over at the narrowest point to Ruttheran Village from west of Lor'danel with around 15 sec to spare until fatigue starts eating at your hp. Then take the boat furthest west. Dismiss pet and you can jump on the pier about mid point with the aid of the foundation without aggroing the guards and getting flagged for PvP. Do not concern yourself with the hostile looking NPCs on the ship. They won't do anything
.
It was different pre-Cata so I was confused here in Legion.
I was gonna level my new hunter as survival but they don't have any aoe until level 42,
削凿
. As the only ray (for non-exotic lust) is a rare in Felwood
长牙黑潭
.. level 46 that is a long way away. So BM until in 40s. And I must say at low level BM has a lot of their spells already.
Why bother to do all this? To put off cleaning or doing the dishes of course! :D

For Anyone Trying to get this in legion and beyond here is some info
Can confirm did this at level 45 so no longer a requirement to be level 69.
Low Level Horde Guide
Without Flying
1. Take Zeppelin to Grom Gol base camp and travel up the coast until you get to stormwind.
2. When you get to the docks its the furthest south dock. Since you dont have flying its a safe bet the gaurds will instant one shot you so dont die because its a 10 minute run back. Instead of going on the dock use a water walking mount and walk into the back of the boat as it starts to sail away. If you have level 40 mount speed this will somehow allow you to get pulled with the boat as you are walking. You might also be able to catch a clip on the front of the boat. As a last resort you can run onto the dock and die and run back and rez and die again while on the boat.,. then just stay dead on the boat until you travel and it will rez you.
3. Jump off the boat before you arrive. The boat you want to the isle is on the left. Kinda purple looking. its fairly easy to jump clip into the front of the boat especially with the water walking mount. Once you get there just head to the shore before you get to the dock and you should be able to avoid the guards and the dog is a quest mob so its always up.
If you have flying
This is essentially the same thing except you can just fly onto the boats as they are leaving and avoid most of the nonsense. The first bot has NPC's that dont attack but the second boats NPC's will attack you.

So I have had this pet on my alliance hunter for years & personally, its the only core hound I like the look of - I wish Blizzard would add some colour variants of this type of core hound but I am just happy there is a core hound I like.
So when I boosted a horde hunter so I could experience the prepatch as a horde (& BFA) - I went to get this pet. I followed suggestions to get the boat from Rut'theran Village in Teldrassil, & one comment about catching a boat from Stormwind. There are no longer any boats to Azuremyst Isle, not sure as of when.
However, there is a portal on the docks at Rut'theran Village, I ignored this the first time I went there thinking I would be killed & it might not work for me & if it did I land in the middle of Exodar. This is not so - there is 1 npc next to the portal who is level 45 (non elite) who did not even aggro - since you need to fly from Darkshore anyway, by the time you can do this I doubt he will be an issue.
The portal lands you on the dock at Azuremyst Isle, once again where there is only 1 portal keeper (lvl 45 again) who did not aggro. From there I got on my water walking mount & ran around the outside of Exodar & landed on the beach above it, near the murloc village. From there it was just a simple run to the cave. No deaths, no waiting for boats & no aggroing guards.
Hope this saves someone some time.

The Kurken is located inside a cave on Azuremyst Isle. Tom Tom cords (45.62, 19.30) As of BFA if you speak to Zidormi at Darkshore and fly over to Rut'Theran Village, there is a portal on the far side {that use to be a boat} that will take you to the Exodar. Which also works for the Horde as I just did it on my blood elf. go to Stillpine hold and tame away! Must be a BM hunter tame as well
Hope this helped someone

As Horde:
Fly over mountains into Darkshore from Felwood.
Fly across sea to Teldrassil (even on slow flying mount you will make it well before exhaustion timer runs out).
Fly along southern coast to Rut'Theran Village. There are three docks. You want the one on the west side. There is a portal on the southern dock also but you cannot use it. Land next to portal on west dock and use it. The 45 PVP-flagged NPC will aggro on you at 65 but only after a few seconds so you have time to click on portal before that happens.
Jump off dock on other end of portal to avoid flagging (if you so desire).
Swim to shore, ride to cave at 45,20. The outside of the cave is swarming with PVP-flagged lvl 20 mobs but you can either camouflage through them or go around on the left side and drop down. Nothing in the cave is flagged.
Kurken is straight back staying on the low path by the pond in the back of the cave.

This is still doable as horde. You will need to ask zidormi to travel back in time to what darkshore looked like before the burning of teldrassil. This will get you past the wall. And the portal to the exodar is on the west side of the docks.

Step by Step-- FOR THE HORDE!
Viable / Executed successfully on March 7th, 2020
-------------------------------------------------------------------
AS OF BATTLE FOR AZEROTH:
1) Speak to Zidormi at Darkshore and ask to see what the area was BEFORE-- this is crucial
2) Flightpath to Moonglade, top left near the island in Kalimdor
3) GRAB A FLYING MOUNT.... You'll need to fly across to Rutheran Village. You'll get the Fatigue warning briefly, but keep flying. You have 60 seconds, but it will not take that long-- plenty of time, and the timer restarts and finally disappears once you're close to the docks. You'll see a portal there to Exodar-- zip right in! :)
4) Once in, red mobs (no worries if high level)... but drop off the side or whatever, get yourself clear and make your way to the cave entrance at /way 45, 20 -- again, a lot of mobs, but higher levels will barely even notice.
5) Run on in, kill a few boomkins if you must on your way to your new pet. :) Go into the cave fully, ease left and drop down into the underpass and run right to the right whiter area. He'll be standing right there waiting for you. Bring snacks and TWO toys for him to play with-- two heads after all. :)

I rolled a Mechagnome for giggles and went to Azuremyst Isle and the Kurken is still in the same place as everyone else has said @ Stillpine Hold and tamed him immediately no hassle at all you just have to kill a few npc's in the cave which I was doing 1 shot wonders on them. he is a beautiful pet to have at level 11 ( I think you only have to be level 10 now). GL even the horde are still coming here for the Kurken.
