During a panel at BlizzCon 2007, Chris Metzen and Alex Afrasiabi talked about a questline in Northrend focusing on Tirion Fordring. They mentioned plans to include the Ashbringer in the questline, though at such an early stage of production the Ashbringer's inclusion may not be final.

During the hands-on demo of Wrath of the Lich King at BlizzCon, doing a small quest chain about a sacred artifact leads you to a "Cleric of the Silver Hand". The cleric reveals himself to be Tirion, now known as Highlord Tirion Fordring of the Order of the Silver Hand - attired in Lightbringer Armor, and holding the Ashbringer. He shouts a challenge to Arthas, saying that the Silver Hand was coming for him and that his kingdom would crumble beneath the weight of justice.

The above quote was taken from the wowwiki page on Tirion Fordring any of the information here may or may not end up in the expansion but it seems logical that with Arthas being the main focus in the next expansion that the Ashbringer will also play a big part.

Tirion Fordring can also be found in Old Hillsbrad Foothills in the Caverns of Time he can be seen disscussing the Ashbringer with fellow members of the Silver Hand.

Is there something speicial about this guy and do you have to do something for him to appear/ or does he only appear at certain times? I picked up the quests off the guy and now he never appears and icant claim the quests

If you look for Tirion Fordring, that gives quests in Eastern Plaguelands, then this is wrong one (thou screenshot is right).

Tirion Fordring is located at 7,43 in EPL. On a side note, if you pull a mob to him he says "Say hello to my little friend."

Worth noting that Tirion Fordring is the main character in the World of Warcraft novel "Of Blood and Honor" by Chris Metzen, which also stars the orc warrior Eitrigg. this sounds like the npc from WOTLK beta as the order of the silver hand. silver hand is the faction that death knights call home like druids cenarion circle.

The Silver Hand were an order of Paladins, formed (if memory serves) by Uther the Lightbringer, Arthas' teacher. As loladins, they would most definitely not be friendly with any Death Knights, regardless of any rep. grind you might attempt.

Maybe one of the last founders of Knights of the Silver Hand still alive in Azeroth. In Wotlk the Knights of the Silver Hand faction will return.

You can find the younger, lesser of rank Tirion Fordring in Caverns of Time: Old Hillsbrad Foothills in a meeting with other members of the Knights of the Silver Hand.

One could say the same about the Alliance not wanting Death Knights after the betrayal of Arthas, but that certainly has been proven false. Same goes for Horde seeing as how Sylvanas has a huge grudge against Arthas and the Scourge.

I think I saw a gravestone on a graveyard in Eastern Plaguelands marked as "Tirion Fordring's Grave" :)

He's now at 4,38 in EPL. Go north along the river but stay on the eastern bank.
