There NPCs have been removed for some unknown reason...They were not members of the Darkspear faction, they were members of the Ravasaur Trainers faction, like the Frostsaber trainer in Winterspring is part of the Frostsaber Trainers faction (or something like that)

This trainer never did anything. He supposedly was the counter part of Alliance Winterspring Frostsaber Trainer but he never gave any Qs to rep up with, nor did he appeard as faction once u talked to him like usual with factions.
Its possible that Blizzard decided not to give Hordes a Ravasaur factions mount after seeing that the Winterspring one was rare and only done by a handful of people on each server.

I suspect that the reason why this rep grind mount was never implemented was b/c of the level disparity. Grinding for a L60 mount in a low-50 zone would be too simple. Unless they had you running to Silithus, but that seems a bit excessive.
When you look at Winterspring / EP / Silithus, it's hard to see how you could tie raptor lore into the zone.

Yet again Blizzard favors the Alliance. When does the Horde get some neat extra mounts or small pets, like the Alliance Faerie Dragon in Feralas!... Not fair at all.

Added in most recent build of 3.1 PTR
"Venomhide Ravasaur - Summons and dismisses a rideable Venomhide Ravasaur. This is a very fast mount."
This is a good sign! Gotta find out more about this.

I have confirmed the following on live now:
1. Find Mor'vek and do the 1st quest
Toxic Tolerance
, in which you have to get poisoned 20 times. To do this i suggest removing ALL gear and then going around looking for the
Venomhide Ravasaurs
.
Kill them ONLY using fists, no abilities, no spells, just fists. Note: you have to hit them to get posioned, just letting yourself getting beaten up won't do a thing.
2. After getting poisoned 20 times go back and turn in the quest, he will then give you the 2nd quest
Venomhide Eggs
, where you have to collect 4
Venomhide Ravasaur Eggs
.
With the new quest UI this is VERY easy.
First open your map, you should see a cog wheel near where you are, this shows where an egg is, it's EXACT location, furthermore, if you click it it will show you ALL the spawn points. (This isn't out with patch 3.2, might be like equipment manager and come out in 3.2.2 or something.)
After having collected 4 of them return to Mor'vek.
3. The 3rd and final quest is
They Grow Up So Fast
for this he gives you
Venomhide Hatchling
, it's like the orphan you get on Children's week. The quest involves bringing him 20
Venomhide Baby Teeth
, 20
Runecloth
, 20
Rugged Leather
and 80 gold.
5. The money,
Runecloth
and
Rugged Leather
are all easy to obtain, the
Venomhide Baby Teeth
however are received only by doing the
Venomhide Hatchling
daily quests, 1 per daily, there are 4 possible dailies which i know of and u can only do 1 each day, i think they're randomly selected. The daily quests are done in either Un'goro or Tanaris
6. The first quest is called,
Poached, Scrambled or Raw?
which is done in Tanaris, at the Noxious Lair to be precise, and involves simply finding and feeding 12
Silithid Eggs
to your
Venomhide Hatchling
. The eggs are found on the surface of the Noxious Lair
7. The second is "Gorishi Grub" and requires you to get 10
Silithid Meat
and to feed it to your
Venomhide Hatchling
. The meat drops from the mobs in the Slithering Scar in southern Un'goro.
8. The third quest is called
Searing Roc Feathers
in Tanaris and involves getting 5
Searing Roc Plumage
from the
Searing Rocs
.
9. The fourth daily is called
Hungry, Hungry Hatchling
and involves killing any kind of pterrodax, stegodon or diametradon in Un'goro in order to get 15 Fresh Dinosaur Meat. (I got
Hydralick Armor
while doing this one :'(, while on the PTR ofc, would of loved to give it to my war.)
10. After having done the dailies 20 times, (1 per daily = 20 dailies = 20 days) you can finally turn in the quest to get your
Whistle of the Venomhide Ravasaur
.

1. Find Mor'vek and do the 1st quest Toxic Tolerance, although it says 2000 on the PTR it's only 20. To do this i suggest removing ALL gear and then going around looking for the Venomhide Ravasaurs.

While you are killing them, make sure you kill the other types of ravasaurs too. They all spawn from the same table, so if you only kill the venomhides when they spawn, pretty soon it will be 99% others, 1% venomhides.

Can anyone tell if any rep is involved in getting this mount? Or do Alliance still have 1 faction more to grind to exalted for the achievement than we do?

They act like it would be hard to implement a NPC with rewards...
The reason they removed him wasn't because it was too hard. Un'goro was a level 50-56 zone, while Winterspring was 58-60. This ment that while Winterspring was mainly inhabited by 60's, Un'goro was still a leveling zone. Doing something that would bring lots of 60's to the place, killing the needed quest NPC's and/or ganking the levelers, would do no good for anyone.
They might have considered implenting a similar NPC elsewhere, but in the end, Un'goro is getting deserted(very few levelers around there those days), so now it's not going to matter as much if they add the Ravasaur trainer.

TO GET YOUR SEXAY
RAVASAUR MOUNT
:
(1) Toxic Tolerance
- Head about 30 seconds north of Mor'vek and look for
Venomhide Ravasaur (click for map)
. Unequip your weapon and punch them in the face until they place a "
poison
" debuff on you 20 times. (May take a while. Actually killing them will make this slower.) Turn in the quest at Mor'vek.
(2)
Venomhide Eggs
- Look anywhere in the area just north and east of Mor'vek for small black nests out in the open grass. Each nest should have one egg. Loot four of these eggs. Turn in the quest at Mor'vek.
(3)
They Grow Up So Fast
- Accept this quest to get
Venomhide Hatchling
, which summons a small pet that gives you dailies.
(4) <<
Venomhide Hatchling
>>
- Do the daily offered from this Hatchling for 20 days to get 20
Venomhide Baby Tooth
. Buy 20 runecloth, 20 rugger leather off the AH, and then turn in the quest at Mor'vek.
Ta-da!

This is probably being implemented as a preparation for the Paid Faction Change feature, which Blizzard is preparing.
They have stated that they want as much as possible to translate to the opposite faction, and this probably the reason why they reimplemented this.
Expect to see Alliance characters who transfer to Horde, to receive a free ravasaur mount at the expense of their winterspring frostsaber, and vice versa.

How do I turn on the feature what adds the cog wheels to where quest items are located? I looked around the UI settings and couldnt find anything. =(
UPDATE: So Blizzard has confirmed that the Cog Wheel aka "Offical Blizzard version of Quest Helper" did not go out with 3.2. They are hoping to release it in a future minor patch.

To get the slithid meat you have to go into the tunnel of the Gorishi (sp?) bugz nest in the southern part of UnGoro and kill those mobs.

VERY IMPORTANT: You only get the cog wheel if you have Cartographer with QuestInfo installed and enabled. Without Cartographer, you do not have these markers. QuestHelper might do it too, never bothered with that addon.

When doing the Toxic Tolerance quest, the key is to do damage. If you afk, they will not poison you. If your weapon skill is so low that you do no damage, they will not poison you.
Also, pulling multiple mobs has little to no benefit, since only your primary target (which you are damaging) will poison you. If you're not wearing armor or weapons, the additional damage can translate into an annoying amount of downtime.

There is a quick and easy way for mages to get the
Toxic Tolerance
part done:
1) Find a melee weapon with low damage.
2) Put on your Ice Barier.
3) Find a Venomhide and begin attacking with the melee weapon.
4) When your Venomhide gets low on health
Polymorph
it.
5) The Venomhide will regain all of its health quickly and you can bandage yourself while it is healing.
6) Rinse and repeat untill you get splashed with blood 20 times.
I was able to get all 20 splashes from one single Venomhide while the other people where having to wait for the respawn. Also, I suppose, if you are a nice person you could go around healing other people's Venomhides for them... Good luck!

Getting to Ungoro is easy after you've completed the quest line from the Avatar of Freya in Sholazar Basin. During the quest line, you activate the Waygate to Ungoro in order to obtain Etymidian and you can still use it after you've ended the quest line. So, fly to Sholazar, use the Waygate to Ungoro Crater, finish your daily and recall.

I found myself incapable of hitting at all with unarmed (since I'm a druid, and I don't have/need unarmed weapon skill). I tried using my Lance from the argent tournament, and it works perfectly. Deals almost no damage (~35ish) and requires no weapon skill whatsoever.
This may be a problem for players that have not reached 77 to aquire a lance though.

I used my skinning knife. Stripped down to only wearing the tabard and boots, and there we go. Done in 15 min.
Whats really bugs me is that it cost 80 g to purchase this mount, along with all the things you need to bring to Morvek.
Is this an achiv?

So I searched the crater up and own for this guy and he was nowhere to be found and he wasn't at the co-ords given on here, so where the heck is he? Or does anyone know the respawn rate on this guy, I was thinking maybe some allies got him.

As a warlock I have almost never used the unarmed skill... I found it useful to skill this one. The more skill I got, the more poison the Ravasaur gave me. Fel Armor regenerates 2 to 3 % of max health every 5 mins. Before the first Ravasaur was killed, I got the 20 poison on me.

ok, did this as a level 52 'lock. put my v w on passive, and used sacrifice to keep from getting hit but still got spalshed. nice cheat if they didn't 'fix' it already. i've got an interesting problem though. was splashed 20 times, got credit for finishing the quest, but the guy i'm supposed to turn it in to vanished. he doesn't show up on carbonite or anything. any suggestions or should i just try again?

I found the easiest way to get poisoned for the first quest was to unequip my weapons & fight bare-handed, and to just keep walking in reverse in circles as the raptors attacked me. (I was also either sprinting around & aggroing more than one, or pulling them with a low-level ranged weapon) Doing such a small amount of damage to them made the fights last longer (I just did this at level 80), and if they eventually lost interest & ran off & regained their health, I would just pull them over again. Plus it helped me level up my Unarmed skill as well! :)

Respawn time is less than 13 minutes. I was killed at the spot by an 80 pala along with him. At minute 4 after my death I got bored and decided to go do a quest and when I arrived back 13 minutes later he was there.

I don't think it has been said yet, but while doing Toxic Tolerance it is possible for you to proc another poison while you currently have one, but you will not get credit for gaining it. Therefore considering the sometimes limited number of mobs, you should swing until you get the poison and stop attacking until it falls off.

Who named this NPC? My main, a gnome rogue in EQ1, was named Morvek a few months before the release of PoP, during the summer of 2002. It was a completely made up name that I had started using in MUDs before everquest even. For the youngsters, MUDs (Multi-User Dungeon) were all text multiplayer online games.
