Meet her when boosting my lockpicking. She calls for help when she gets low on hp so if you havn't killed the mobs before her (stealth person) you will get those on you too.

Just soloted her with my lvl 74 balance drood. I pulled her out and kited her around the building where you can find her. It's not easy with the other mobs in the area but just focus her with insect swarm and moonfire during 6-7 mn

don't get too overconfident about soloing this guy (uhh...i mean chick)
she's fairly easy although her crusader strike hits with moderate dmg, but her 2 adds' arcane missile will hit you for 450 each

easy soloed her on my DK in Tyr's Hand, shes with a scarlet enchanter and a scarlet warder.
set my ghoul on the enchanter to keep him occupied and burned down death and decay on Abbendis and the warder. Use all your AoEs in this fight, and focus on the warder as Abbendis doesn't heal

Strat for soloing DKs/warlocks/hunters.
1. Kill the add at the opposite end of the room.
2. Have your pet keep aggro on the add(s) next to her while you focus on her.
3. ?
4. Profit.
Note: A rogue can also distract the adds and take Abbendis by herself.

As of Cataclysm, Brigitte has been replaced with Lynnia Abbendis.
The new mob has the name ID and seemingly the same loot table as Brigitte. The major differance is the battle.
Lynnia's adds are the standared mobs position throughout Tyr's hand. She is a warrior and repeatedly casts battle shout throughout the fight. She also calls for help from nearby Risen.

So yeah, basically there used to be a rare mob called High General Abbendis here - in Wrath her story was expanded a lot and she's part of an extended quest chain which shows you the ultimate fate of the Scarlet Crusade. Her name is Brigitte Abbendis (I think that was mentioned in the Northrend chain? Or maybe just outside lore).
But her old rare mob incarnation still appeared back in Tyr's Hand where you could kill her to your heart's content. I was actually curious about whether they'd address that inconsistency in Cata.
Interestingly, they've replaced her with a notably similar rare mob, LYNNIA Abbendis. Her positioning and the surname Abbendis seem to be implying that this is the "Abbendis" rare mob we were killing all those years. Presumably a sister of Brigitte. Since it's very unlikely this Lynnia Abbendis held the rank of High General (unless there's more than one? But then it's not that "High" really) without it being mentioned ever before this seems to be a retcon. So basically if you ignore the old rare's title it all makes sense. Kinda. Although she still managed to survive all those old adventurers long enough to meet her ironic end along with the rest of Tyr's Hand.
To further confuse matters, the flashback version of Brigitte in Old Hillsbrad is just called "Abbendis". At least, we've all ASSUMED that's Brigitte :P

Not that sad... she's an interesting character.
Honestly, I feel sorry for High General Abbendis because of the sheer number of retcons inflicted on her. Let's start at the beginning:
If I'm remembering correctly, the first appearance of a "High General Abbendis" was in the Warcraft RPG sourcebooks (not the rereleased WoW RPG version) in which the High General was described as male. Specifically, a man with "wild, white hair" who went on a rampage with Isillien, wreaking insane vengeance on the undead who had tortured them. Then, for whatever reason, when High General Abbendis was placed in Tyr's Hand in vanilla WoW, the designers opted to change the character to a young female redhead (who can blame them really...). My theory is that the Abbendis character just didn't have very much lore and was left to interpretation, causing the conflict between the RPG books and WoW.
Abbendis was always one of the people present during the talk about Ashbringer as can be seen in Old Hillsbrad, and because of the existence of the Tyr's Hand mob her incarnation in CoT was similarly designed. The rereleased WoW RPG sourcebook cleared up (read: retconned) the situation by stating that "the current High General Abbendis" was the daughter of the original one (the dude).
When WotLK came out, High General Abbendis took on a more important role involving quest chains in Dragonblight as well as having a major part in the Death Knight starting area. This was a much-needed character upgrade because the Scarlet Crusade's other leadership was involved in quest chains, dungeons, etc while Abbendis existed only as a rare mob in Tyr's Hand (It does seem to fit her personality, though, that she would hole up in "her" city and focus all her efforts on its defense and maintenance -- and from the look of it, she was doing a fine job, as in vanilla WoW Tyr's Hand was the only place in the Plaguelands that looked mostly untouched by death, complete with grass and trees). Isillien was involved in the epic quest chain ending with "In Dreams" and Dathrohan was the end boss (sort of) of Human Stratholme. Now, Isillien (as Grand Inquisitor) was leader of the priestly side of the Scarlet Crusade while Abbendis commanded the military, both of them answering directly to the Grand Crusader (who pretty much let them run things, since he tried to avoid drawing attention to himself...). So basically one of the top three leaders of the Crusade was a character we knew nothing about that hardly anyone at Blizzard bothered with, when all along we should have been as terrified of her as we were of Whitemane. If not more so. Considering her skill, fanaticism, and military power she was one of the most dangerous people in Lordaeron and her encounter in Dragonblight was appropriately difficult (at the time). And we all thought she was just an upjumped rare mob from vanilla.
The "Ashbringer" comic miniseries further complicated matters by putting both the father and daughter Abbendis together during much of the Crusade's beginnings and created a new conflict by having them both present for the Ashbringer discussion from Old Hillsbrad, while ingame only the female Abbendis is there. It was also the "Ashbringer" comic that revealed her first name as Brigitte. At no point was a third Abbendis even hinted at, and now if Blizzard ever tries to explain Lynnia they will have a lot of backtracking to do, which is a shame because they had FINALLY smoothed out the Abbendis issue. For a while there was one Abbendis, whose gender no one could agree on. Then, there were two, retconned into father and daughter to explain away the inconsistencies. Now there is a third, for no discernible reason. I think Blizzard just wanted a rare mob here, with an echo of the past, and didn't consider how it would get all the lore types into a tizzy.
So look at what they did to Brigitte already: they retconned her into two people, conveniently allowing her to witness the brutal slaying of her father so she could become suitably revenge-obsessed as to be a good villain for us to take down in WotLK. Now she seems to have gained a sister (or could it be her mother? Hah!) who met what Brigitte would have considered to be the WORST POSSIBLE fate. Good thing she seems to be (lore-wise) perma-dead, because such a thing would probably blow away the last shreds of rational sanity she had left.
Still sad, Mormolyce? I'm a writer; I literally can't help but do this. It's like I have character analysis Tourette's.

I wonder why no one did comment here back then in 2014.

This means that someone slept with Brigitte's psychotic arse. I did not peg Brigitte as the type of woman who had time for personal relationships (despite knowing Doan had a thing for her). I would like to know who the father is, because depending on that, it may be good that Lynnia did not have long before she was turned undead. She would have one severely messed up person depending on who the father is. lol
Note I: As far as I know in lore there were no other hinted people interested in her (besides my RP character). PLUS Doan WAS blonde much like Lynnia is. So it would make sense he is the father, but that means she would have had the kid young because Doan was killed by "adventurers" so Lynnia would have had to have been born prior to Brigitte going to Northrend.
Note II: Any long-time WoW player knows that Blizzard is no stranger to throwing random NPCs into the game and letting the community basically create the lore for them. I am also aware that she was only put in the game to replace Brigitte in her former locations, but it is still a very interesting thing to speculate.
