As of Legion, Mechanical pets will be tameable (including this one)!
冲刺
,
突进
and
弗兰德
are tameable rare spawn mechano-wolves.
冲刺
is located in
至高岭
and is black and silver.
突进
is in
阿苏纳
and is red and silver in colour. Finally,
弗兰德
is found in
诺莫瑞根
and is blue and silver. These are all new "challenge" hunter tameable Mechanicals that will be introduced in Legion, and they ALL scale to your level (including
弗兰德
).
Both
冲刺
and
突进
share taming mechanics - they are stealthed, and cannot normally be seen. That being said, they will drop a "Small Oil Puddle" every 20-30 yards as they path, which allows you to track their movement. Once you see puddles appearing, you cast
照明弹
to reveal the rare. This may take some trial and error to get right; once you reveal it, the mechano-wolf must be tamed before it leaves the Flare area. As such, it's best to use
冰冻陷阱
(Survival) or
束缚射击
(Marksmanship, Beast Mastery) before
驯服野兽
.
突进
patrols in a loop around the northeast part of
阿苏纳
.
Some other Mechanical pets include:
牧羊木匠
- Mechanical sheep in
艾尔文森林

- Silver Mechano-strider in

擎天鸟
- Red and Blue Mechano-strider (Rare spawn) in

Some notes on Mechanical (and other)
猎人
pets in Legion:
A total of 4 NEW pet families will be tameable in Legion - Scalehides, Mana Sabers, Oxen, and Mechanicals.
Some of the new Mechanical pets will be challenge tames, meaning that they will require some skills and certain mechanics to be able to obtain them.
The Mechanical pet are not "exotic" pets, and as such ALL THREE specs can tame them.

Tamed him just now... Found tracks at Rhut'van Passage, in Azsuna with the help of Jagati on Beta. Followed tracks form the middle eastern part of zone up north and then circle back down in the middle of the zone.

Rush is a Rare Red/Silver Mechanical Wolf located in Azsuna
It took a while but I finally tracked Rush through his complete patrol in Azsuna.
Video Guide:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUsnP5qF7FQ
A map can be found in the video description!
The video goes through tips in the beginning and then a sped up video following his tracks completely through Azsuna.
I hope this helps everyone out a bit more with this tame!
Have a wonderful 4th of July!

Tamed him at lvl 102. I found him right below Ley-ruins of Zarhenar at 62 /20. The map of his patrol path is spot on.
I tried to concussive shot and tame a few times as BM but it was too slow before he was out of flair range. I just respecced into survival threw flair then used ice trap. I highly suggest just switching to survival to tame him.
He walks through a lot of hostile mobs camps in the lower part of his patrol path. Make sure to be aware especially if you have your pet dismissed. I highly recommend just camping at a spot he patrols by the flight paths if low level, as he walks pretty fast.
Good luck!

Isaac Blastimov discusses Rush and the other rare mechanwolf, Treble, with Bamm Megabomb in the Hunter order hall. They seem to have lost both Rush and Treble and are planning to track them down.
If you bring Rush to the order hall with you and walk past Isaac Blastimov, he says the following:
Isaac Blastimov: Rush!
Isaac Blastimov: Who's a big sentient robo-wolf? You are! You are!
Isaac Blastimov: You've done a great job caring for him. How about you hold onto him.
Isaac Blastimov: Back to Master!
Bamm Megabomb does a similar series of comments if you bring Treble.

RJust tamed him. Tracked him for a long time. He moves quick. Actually tagged him three times and lost him before finally making the tame. I actually found Treble to be an easier tame as he was easier to track since he sticks to roads. Rush does not stick to roads. The map is an accurate representation of his path. Keep at it and good luck.

Found a good spot to camp the pet, it's mostly a clear field with no shadows and simple textures, very easy to spot the oil spill, just make sure to set the ground clutter detail in your graphics options to 1.
Coordinates: from (61.4 , 18.5) to (63.8 , 20.1).
There's packs of neutral unicorns running around and a single Feathered Prowler on a rock in the middle of the path. Kill it so he doesn't get in the way. I patrolled between those two points for 15-20 mins until the spills appeared. He moves quite fast but if he cuts through the middle of the flare you should be able to tame him without any CC (I still recommend to use something to slow him down).
Credits to Reptilio for making a detailed patrol route of the NPC.

Known trick, but if you are having trouble tracking the oil puddles, set the ground detail setting to the minimum in the options. The puddles will be much easier to see that way.
Good luck !

Taming made simple
Go to 65,23 (northwest of FelBreeze)
Stand on the road you can check both directions coming from the field or coming from the legion/demon area
Be in survival mode, make sure your talent is set for Improved Traps (4 down/Middle)
This will give out the freezing trap, he will get stuck in it
You need this as he walks out of the flare usually before the tame is done
if you are on the road you can swing back and for checking
When you see the oil, shoot the flare and toss the freeze trap
I just mapped the buttons on for each (Flame, Freeze trap, tame beast)
You may have to camp up to 30min but trying to run him down on his patron is tough.
I posted a screenshot here of where I was and included the map in the photo so you will know youre at the right spot.
Good Luck hope this helps. I also put the tomtom cords on here from the map that was on youtube.
the cords match the map but are off a bit here and there, that was probably his pat in beta.
Just camp and that spot and you will be much happier.
Let me know when you get him :)
NOTE: if you are going to follow the patrol, he does turn around and start back on his tracks when he gets to the end.
Based on the map that was posted in the video I made TomTom cords so it would be easier to run after Rush :)

Got him twice today, once for me & once for my hubbys hunter because he had to sleep for work <3
Both at about the same location as
Grendelsethe
suggested,
65,23 (northwest of Felblaze Ingress).
I stayed on the road (
an incline, and a dip that goes halfway across the path, just before the Ruins
and waited for the puddles to appear, it's VERY easy to lose him so don't go too far or fast off his pathing. He walks about as slow as you do on walking. I am not SV but I switched to it for the tames for the trap use & would highly suggest it.
If you should lose him on that hill, go as fast as possible through the ruins until you find the bridge, he HAS to cross it and will continue down a bottleneck path before it opens up again, a great spot to catch him before he gets away.
(found that out the first time)
As soon as I saw the puddles start appearing, I tossed a tar trap, with an ice trap directly in front of it, then flared. Once I had him slowly moving to the ice trap, I ran across the room to hubbys desk to tame Rush, but Tame kept cancelling out..... sob.
So, I give to you a
Word of Warning!
Because it was my traps, not my hubbys, my bodyguard Rexxar started attacking it, I had to run back to my desk, FD my hunter, run back to hubbys desk & start the tame again.
So, if you have a bodyguard and are going to tame this one, best to leave them behind.
Good luck!

If you're looking to silence your Mechanowolves' constant growling fidget sounds
, just create six blank or silent OGG files.
Name these files...
mWolfAttack1.ogg
mWolfAttack2.ogg
mWolfAttack3.ogg
mWolfAttack4.ogg
mWolfAttack5.ogg
mWolfAttack6.ogg
and place them in the following WoW folder path...
World of Warcraft\Sound\Creature\Wolf
That will put a muzzle on their noisy trapjaws.
UPDATE: Due to data mining occlusion effort by Blizzard in patch 8.2, muting sound files by adding your own ogg files no longer works.
You can however, create your own addon to mute it.
First open a blank text file using Notepad in windows or any basic text editor you may have.
Copy and paste the following code in to it, and save it as MuteSounds.TOC
Note: Make certain TOC is the file extension, and not TXT. You may need to Google how to view file extensions in windows, if your file extensions are hidden from view.
## Interface: 80300
## Title: MuteSounds
## Author: ThisGuyYouKnow
## Version: 8.3.0
## Notes: Mutes annoying sound.
## DefaultState: Enabled
MechWolf.LUA
Next, open another blank text file and this time copy and paste the following code in to it. Save it as MechWolf.LUA
Note: Make certain LUA is the file extension, not TXT.
local sounds = {
564209, -- Sound/creature/wolf/mwolfattack4.ogg
564210, -- Sound/creature/wolf/mwolfattack1.ogg
564212, -- Sound/creature/wolf/mwolfattack6.ogg
564213, -- Sound/creature/wolf/mwolfattack2.ogg
564216, -- Sound/creature/wolf/mwolfattack3.ogg
564230, -- Sound/creature/wolf/mwolfattack5.ogg
}
for _, fdid in pairs(sounds) do
MuteSoundFile(fdid)
end
Next create a new addon folder inside your "C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft\_retail_\Interface\AddOns" folder. Name this folder "MuteSounds".
The file path to your World of Warcraft installation may differ from the example above.
Then copy and paste both of the files you created, MuteSounds.TOC & MechWolf.LUA, into this new MuteSounds folder.
Lastly start up the game and enjoy the silence.
This addon should be enabled by default unless you're creating this beyond patch 8.3.x. In which case you will need to update the Interface# in the TOC file, from 80300 to whatever the current number may be.
Find this number by running WoW, and at the login screen you'll see the Version number at the bottom left corner. Then convert it to the interface number.
For example, game version 8.0.0 was interface# 80000, 8.1.0 (a major patch) was 80100, 8.1.2 (a minor patch to 8.1) was 80102, and so on.
The version# in the TOC is just a note in game, you can update that as well if you like.
You can also create your own LUA files to mute other game sounds. for example...
Make another LUA file, but this time you might name it TigerJowls.LUA with the following code inside. Then place it in the MuteSounds folder along with your other LUA file.
local sounds = {
562388, -- was mtigerstand2a.ogg
}
for _, fdid in pairs(sounds) do
MuteSoundFile(fdid)
end
Note: You don't have to include the comment after each FD ID# (local sound #). The -- followed by the comment don't need to be there. I just included them to note what each number used to be as ogg sound files. However the comma after each number
does
need to be there.
Then edit your existing MuteSounds.TOC file and add TigerJowls.LUA to the bottom. Like this...
## Interface: 80300
## Title: MuteSounds
## Author: ThisGuyYouKnow
## Version: 8.3.0
## Notes: Mutes annoying sound.
## DefaultState: Enabled
MechWolf.LUA
TigerJowls.LUA
You may be wondering how to find the number associated with each sound in the game. Well you can find the FD ID# for each sound at the "WoW.Tools" website. Select "Files" at the top to browse, search and even listen to every sound in the game. This way you can find those sounds that annoy you, and make your own LUA to add to the list.
You can also just make one LUA file with a giant list of annoying sounds. However I found it easier to later undo specific sounds I muted by making a LUA for each category or subject I intended to mute. Then just remove that LUA's file name from the list in the TOC, preventing it from being loaded. It's entirely up to you.
ENJOY!

My Rush Tale. Once I received the coordinates for 63,23 and the two bridges I was pretty well set. Except for knowing his actual path which can be really helpful. I actually know about tracking and there are techniques to use for finding an elusive trail. I first spotted Rush at the bridge in Llothien, really its a lot of spots I spotted. I followed them but that trail ended in a flurry of claws, teeth and feathers. I Dusted myself off and headed for the location north of Felblaze. I pick up the trail there and chased that malevolent mechanical mutt all the way to the Grand Vintner's house and back again just catching sight of it now and again but always just a bit behind. I caught the trail again outside Llothien with all them pesky Prowlers. I made a dash for the bridge and played dead for the pursuing Prowlers to leave. I was dealing with the one who seemed to claim the bridge as his own, what do I see? But a small puddle appear. Threw a flare to the end of the bridge only to see it leave the light. I moved forward and threw an ice trap toward the two pillars and followed with a flare. I had it trapped! And two Prowlers had me. No time for anything else, I began the taming process. The taming finished and he flickered blue and dove in on those Prowlers in flash of titanium teeth. He saved my hide that day, that marvelous mutt. I'll call him Slydog.

This tame really made me feel like a real hunter. I looked up the general path this guy takes, and then set about looking for those elusive oil puddles, marking the map every time I found one. I found the trail several times, only to be stopped unable to find the next. At one point I even caught this magnificent mech in sight of my flare, but in my excitement, missed my trap. He got away from me then, but I picked up his trail again outside Azurewing. I backtracked to some of my earlier waypoints, and was able to head him off and set a flare when I saw a new pool appear. The whole process took about 40ish minutes, at times it was frustrating, but in the end, it was definitely worth it.

Kaeori
For the life of my I just couldn't nail him down. So I ended up making pretty sure he was near Llothien, and then setting up flares and traps on the bridge to it's south as a choke point. It took about ten minutes for him to walk back along the route on his reverse course and I nabbed him. If you are having issues it's worth a shot.

Here is my strategy for taming Rush. Go to Azsuna /way 65.87, 23.34 Stand at the junction of the dirt and paved roads facing the south east direction towards the 2 legion demons, Rush will be coming from that direction toward the paved path. There are no hostile crowds here, so you do not have to worry about ads. Send out a tar traps onto the dirt path towards the demons. Keep doing so, when Rush passes it he will activate the tar trap even though he is invisible, which is much quicker than looking for oil spills. In quick order, immediately send out your flare to land just in front of the exploded tar trip, target Rush, send out a freezing trap and then tame. Be quick because as mentioned in several posts here, once he is out of the flare he will disappear and taming will stop. It has also been my experience that when I tried but did not complete taming him, I could not find the oil spills moving forward and had to wait until his next visit. On my server, Suramar, he would pass every one hour, fifteen minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes from his last pass. Good luck and thanks to several other post here, which were very helpful.

Please give challenge tamed mechanical pets a special ability. The mechanical pets could have been so much more than just a novelty tame process if you gave them one special ability(Oil Slick-slows movement speed of enemy target by 50% for 8 seconds). Instead, Blizzard gave the mechanical wolves such loud, repetitive, annoying sounds they end up permanently taking up a stable slot within hours of taming them. Add to that the fact that disabling pet sounds in interface still DOES NOT work, and this is a waste of a stable spot. Sure, it was exciting and cool when they introduced them. I applaud the dev team for that. But this wasn't thought through very well to an end result of a useful hunter pet. So now, I have multiple noisy, annoying mechanical pets sitting in my stable slots that I never use. Heck, even a plain rylak has updraft, water strider has surface trot, and a crane/quillen/moth can rez! Make these pets useful and more people will enjoy the artistic vision intended.

He's a tricky thing to track but thankfully he seems to have a quick respawn so if someone catches him check back later and he should be up. Most people are saying camp him but I found the easiest method is following the oil trail till you get into a safe spot and shooting out a frost trap, if it disappears that means you've hit him, then just flair and tame. Happy hunting everyone.

I've concluded after chasing down both
突进
and
冲刺
that they do not path in a circuit, but do a patrol from point A to B (what those exact points are I am uncertain, but the waypoint map above gives a great ballpark).
Simply sitting in one spot waiting and mindlessly throwing traps for an hour is silly. You can easily follow the path indicated by the waypoint map above and quickly find the oil trail.
I've added a screenshot that shows what the
Small Oil Puddle
小滩油渍
looks like, and even how to determine direction from each puddle.
Good luck tracking these ones down! I had a lot of fun and it took maybe 25 minutes to find both of them back to back. :)
