I found this guy in Highmountain on Alpha after tracking "Small Oil Puddles" similar to the Mists of Pandaria stealthed tames (flare to reveal the beast err, mech.)
Unfortunately, due to a current bug, I was unable to tame him. I submitted a screenshot though. Hope this is helpful!
EDIT: To be more specific, through and around the area of "Mucksnout Den" in Highmountain. Travels straight through the entrance and exit, loops around the area with the harpies and cursed wildlife then circles back through the cave to the Field of An'she and repeats, doesn't go any deeper into the cave.
EDIT 2: Also, his name is a reference to Bass' dog from the Megaman series. He has a red counterpart named "Rush" (after Megaman's dog) out there somewhere too.

Rush
and Treble are the names of Mega Man and Bass's robot dogs in the Mega Man series. Rush is red in Mega Man too, but Treble is purple.

Took him up to the Hunter's lodge and got a little surprise. Near the target practice area, with Kari the Beastmaster there is an NPC - Bamm Megabomb. She knew Treble! She yelled out to him, and he ran over to her.
Bamm Megabomb says: Treble!
Drupla Nearmiss says: Hey Practicus, so you ever worry other hunters won't appreciate our tamed mechs?
Bamm Megabomb says: Good boy!
Bamm Megabomb syas: He seems to like you. Will you take care of him for me?
Practicus Rozzbin says: It's all inthe branding! That's why I call 'em Programmable Electronic Tactical Sidekicks... P.E.T.S.!
Bamm Megabomb says: Backk to Master!

Both
冲刺

突进
share taming mechanics - they are stealthed, and cannot normally be seen. That being said, they will drop a "Small Oil Puddle" every 20-30 yards as they path, which allows you to track their movement. Once you see puddles appearing, you cast

I tamed Treble today on Beta as a BM hunter. After several unsuccessful tries with the suggested strategies I ended up hitting him with concussive shot to slow him down enough to keep him from wandering out of the flare's range. He's bugged though. I tamed him at level 103 but he's level 102 and only has 215k health, very fragile in fights. He's great looking though and the way he moves, especially when running is very well done.

Treble is a Rare Black/Silver Mechanical Wolf located in Highmountain
It took a while but I finally tracked Treble through his complete patrol in Highmountain and have created both a map and a video trackin him completely.
Video Guide:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09pNefpeFCQ
A map can be found in the video description!
The video goes through tips in the beginning and then a sped up video following his tracks completely through Highmountain.
I hope this helps everyone out a bit more with this tame!
There are other guides and videos that you should check out as well!
Happy Hunting!

Tamed this today using some of the strategies listed here already -- as another poster mentioned, concussive shot was the key. You have to be able to slow him down enough to keep him from leaving the flares area of effect before taming is complete.
Some additional info regarding my experience - I tracked him from the entrance of Mucksnout Den at 41. 62, 47.29, heading north to Rockcrawler Chasm at 48.06, 33.81 and through there, ending at Skyhorn at 53.94, 47.12. He mainly follows the road taking this route -- but will occasionally deviate from the road heading into areas (eventually meeting back up on the road).
Additionally, once I reached the coordinates in Skyhorn, his pathing appears to turn around here, going back down the opposite direction. I didn't catch up to him again until getting back to Mucksnout den (mostly because I kept losing track of the oil puddles not realizing I was too far in front of him).
For me -- the key to tracking him was finding the initial Oil Puddle and then scouting ahead until they appeared to stop spawning. Once I found the "lead" puddle, I ran ahead a bit waiting for another to spawn, once it spawned, I popped the flare right away, followed by Concussive Shot and then Tame Beast.
Hope some of this helps.

Isaac Blastimov discusses Treble and the other rare mechanwolf, Rush, with Bamm Megabomb in the Hunter order hall. They seem to have lost both Rush and Treble and are planning to track them down.
If you bring Treble to the order hall with you and walk past Bamm Megabomb, he says the following:
Bamm Megabomb: Treble!
Bamm Megabomb: Good boy!
Bamm Megabomb: He seems to like you. Will you take care of him for me?
Bamm Megabomb: Back to master!
Isaac Blastimov does a similar series of comments if you bring Rush.

I LOOOOVED the tracking, flaring and taming in mop, but this was a nightmare. Actually, think that's what I'll name him too: Nightmare.
I saw his oil spots many times, but it just seemed the spawning of them was off as every time I went ahead and flared...I got nothing.
I finally took the advice of another poster and simply waited in Mucksnout Den. I had to flare before the puddle showed up, and luckily got the trap and tame out in time before it ran out. He was grayed out like he had been tagged, but it had no effect on the taming.
Personally, I wouldn't mess with chasing him around, especially when he wonders into the crowded areas full of things that want to eat you. Just camp a spot and wait for him.
Best of luck, he is one of the flashier of the mechanical pets imo. :)

This is my new favourite wolf! The tracking and taming was funny too! A bit frustrating, but I really enjoyed the whole thing.
I followed the small oil puddles on the path for about half an hour, then finally managed to tame him slowing him down with concussive shot. Be sure to use it quickly! Once he goes out the flare range he becomes invisible again and interrupts the taming. Definitely funnier that camping.
My advice: go for this pet now, until there is not too much competition.

I've been out tracking him now for hours now with a guildie. I had Addie with me when I found him. She shot him and I lost him.
No followers!
I went back to the Hunting Lodge and dismissed Addie, (Since she's a real hunter now she can do without me for a few hours.) we found him again and he went into the Harpy area. A world quest popped and we lost him. There is a possibility that he is not up at the same time a world quest is available in the pathing area. Not proven but a darned good theory at this point.

I am both slow and lazy. After chasing Treble through the Witch Wood and that damn elite giant nailing me, I went and just sat at the Northern entrance to the Mucksnout Den, just out of reach of the bears. There's a bottleneck at the cave entrance, he HAS to come through it. Respecced from BM into SV for Freezing Trap (Concussive didn't slow him down enough for me...again, I'm both slow and lazy). In a relatively short amount of time, a puddle spawned within sight so I flared the cave entrance until he showed up. Dropped freezing trap, done. *Note: This is one pretty but NOISY pet. He snarls and growls
constantly

Unless you are a gnome or goblin you have to learn Mecha-Bond Imprint Matrix in order to tame any mech pets.
Don't make the mistake I did tracking the doggie only to be told by the game that you don't know how to trap mechs yet when you do try to tame him. Click on the guide to mech pets up above to learn more about it.

I got him down below Skyhorn pretty easily in BM spec by using the following macro.
/target Treble
/castsequence Concussive Shot, Tame Beast
I had to use castsequence because for some strange reason /cast Tame Beast by itself would not work.
I named him Rusty.

I tamed this guy today, I waited outside the North entrance of Mucksnout Den, this entrance is JUST south of The Witchwood (He was heading "In" that way, if that helps, I know I had wished I knew which way he was heading when I got there)
When I got there there was already some oil on the ground, I looked around for a bit to see if I could catch up to him, but not knowing which way he was heading didn't help, so I just kept my flare up at the entrance to the Den.
After around 30 minutes I caught a glimpse of him walking through my flare, I quickly set another flare just ahead of him so he would walk into it and I had enough time to hit him with a Concussive Shot (I'm BM atm) and I tamed him without any problems after that!
I had wanted to name him Goddard after Jimmy Neutrons mechanical dog, but it wouldn't work, so his name is now KNine after the Doctors mechanical doggy companion.
Happy taming!

Just to confirm, he walks IN the North entrance to Mucksnout Den, AKA where all the bears are and walks out the South side. I haven't been able to tame him as he walks through my flare too fast, so I'll be speccing survival and dropping a freeze trap. He takes about 30 minutes to do a loop round.

Several people have mentioned the frustration of using Concussive Shot to slow Treble down enough to tame...
Survival spec still has Freezing Trap, remember. The only thing hard about this is finding him.

Finding Treble is definitely the most challenging part of this tame.
This being said, I am
not Survival
(Beast mastery) and don't like to switch spec. I see Concussive shot mentioned a lot BUT it only slows it down and your tame can fail if it goes outside the flared area before you're done.
Forget about concussive shot,
use
Wyvern Sting
. Wyvern Sting will stop Treble dead in its tracks for as long as thirty seconds, longer than your flare will last, more than enough for a successful tame unless your flare is about to expire and even then you can recast Flare two seconds before the current one dies out while Treble is asleep before taming. It certainly did the trick for me: once I found Treble and revealed it, I cast the sting on it and tamed away.
I may have used Flare twenty-five to thirty to find treble but one Wyvern Sting was enough to tame it and make it mine. Considering finding Treble is the "worse" part of this, make that reveal count and successful, use something more potent than Concussive Shot.

I found him a few minutes later a little northeast of The Witchwood, hit him with a Wyvern Sting and tamed. Worked like a charm. The noises he makes do get annoying at first. Happy hunting.

If you're looking to silence your Mechanowolves' constant growling fidget sounds
, just create six blank or silent OGG files.
Name these files...
mWolfAttack1.ogg
mWolfAttack2.ogg
mWolfAttack3.ogg
mWolfAttack4.ogg
mWolfAttack5.ogg
mWolfAttack6.ogg
and place them in the following WoW folder path...
World of Warcraft\Sound\Creature\Wolf
That will put a muzzle on their noisy trapjaws.
UPDATE: Due to data mining occlusion effort by Blizzard in patch 8.2, muting sound files by adding your own ogg files no longer works.
You can however, create your own addon to mute it.
First open a blank text file using Notepad in windows or any basic text editor you may have.
Copy and paste the following code in to it, and save it as MuteSounds.TOC
Note: Make certain TOC is the file extension, and not TXT. You may need to Google how to view file extensions in windows, if your file extensions are hidden from view.
## Interface: 80300
## Title: MuteSounds
## Author: ThisGuyYouKnow
## Version: 8.3.0
## Notes: Mutes annoying sound.
## DefaultState: Enabled
MechWolf.LUA
Next, open another blank text file and this time copy and paste the following code in to it. Save it as MechWolf.LUA
Note: Make certain LUA is the file extension, not TXT.
local sounds = {
564209, -- Sound/creature/wolf/mwolfattack4.ogg
564210, -- Sound/creature/wolf/mwolfattack1.ogg
564212, -- Sound/creature/wolf/mwolfattack6.ogg
564213, -- Sound/creature/wolf/mwolfattack2.ogg
564216, -- Sound/creature/wolf/mwolfattack3.ogg
564230, -- Sound/creature/wolf/mwolfattack5.ogg
}
for _, fdid in pairs(sounds) do
MuteSoundFile(fdid)
end
Next create a new addon folder inside your "C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft\_retail_\Interface\AddOns" folder. Name this folder "MuteSounds".
The file path to your World of Warcraft installation may differ from the example above.
Then copy and paste both of the files you created, MuteSounds.TOC & MechWolf.LUA, into this new MuteSounds folder.
Lastly start up the game and enjoy the silence.
This addon should be enabled by default unless you're creating this beyond patch 8.3.x. In which case you will need to update the Interface# in the TOC file, from 80300 to whatever the current number may be.
Find this number by running WoW, and at the login screen you'll see the Version number at the bottom left corner. Then convert it to the interface number.
For example, game version 8.0.0 was interface# 80000, 8.1.0 (a major patch) was 80100, 8.1.2 (a minor patch to 8.1) was 80102, and so on.
The version# in the TOC is just a note in game, you can update that as well if you like.
You can also create your own LUA files to mute other game sounds. for example...
Make another LUA file, but this time you might name it TigerJowls.LUA with the following code inside. Then place it in the MuteSounds folder along with your other LUA file.
local sounds = {
562388, -- was mtigerstand2a.ogg
}
for _, fdid in pairs(sounds) do
MuteSoundFile(fdid)
end
Note: You don't have to include the comment after each FD ID# (local sound #). The -- followed by the comment don't need to be there. I just included them to note what each number used to be as ogg sound files. However the comma after each number
does
need to be there.
Then edit your existing MuteSounds.TOC file and add TigerJowls.LUA to the bottom. Like this...
## Interface: 80300
## Title: MuteSounds
## Author: ThisGuyYouKnow
## Version: 8.3.0
## Notes: Mutes annoying sound.
## DefaultState: Enabled
MechWolf.LUA
TigerJowls.LUA
You may be wondering how to find the number associated with each sound in the game. Well you can find the FD ID# for each sound at the "WoW.Tools" website. Select "Files" at the top to browse, search and even listen to every sound in the game. This way you can find those sounds that annoy you, and make your own LUA to add to the list.
You can also just make one LUA file with a giant list of annoying sounds. However I found it easier to later undo specific sounds I muted by making a LUA for each category or subject I intended to mute. Then just remove that LUA's file name from the list in the TOC, preventing it from being loaded. It's entirely up to you.
ENJOY!

Just tamed Treble by going back and forth a few times using this map:
http://wow.zamimg.com/uploads/guide/images/10473.jpg
Definitely easier (to me at least) to cut him off in the "choke points" aka the caves.
I was BM when catching him and used simply freezing trap to hold him in place while I tamed. Note: BM now has freezing trap again with 7.1.5.
Also interesting to note. When I first saw him in flare, I threw a freezing trap and as soon as he froze the flare went away. That stealthed him again, and I figured he would start walking again immediately; he did not. I simply put another flare in the same spot and got him.
Also interesting to note, as I did not see mention in any comments, is that he
may
does walk back and forth from point to point on the map
(at least that is what his oil patterns seemed to suggest).
Edit: He does walk back and forth. It was confirmed in the guide for him. Derp.

Hi. I just tamed Treble on Feathermoon at Bloodhunt Highland. I tried the various spots that other people suggested but I liked this one much better. It's a very clear spot and you don't have to worry about agro. There is a fork in the road and I stood at 44.29. There are 3 Feltotem Warmonger casters to my right and a Big rock to my left. His oil spots show up on the left side of the rock and continue up the path towards the Rockcrawler Chasm. Be careful because there is a light blue Majestic Elderhorn that runs across the path. I'll put up a couple of screen shots to help. I'm guessing he has a 45 minute timer like Rush. I'm sorry, I didn't think to check this time :( Good Luck and Cheers!

World questing on Dawnbringer as MM in highmountain, I just noticed an oil puddle in my path, and having read the guide and already learned the mech tame book with my first curious coin (and made and consumed it) I tracked him just inside the cave. Popped a flare, threw an ice trap and lo and behold he walked right into it. Got the tame off, and began to celebrate before I noticed he didn't show up at my side. Going into call pet, he was nowhere to be found (even though I got the tame complete). Attempting to summon one of my other pets, the game told me that I can't summon while speced into Lone Wolf. Know I completed it because he stopped dropping puddles in both directions, and vanished from the path entirely. Sure I used tame as mm-lone wolf in the past (have other newer pets already), so it seems this has been changed. Submitting a ticket, but fair warning to other mm, switch specs first for safety. Hope they give him to me.... I'd go full time sv just to have him around if it's the new mm limitation.... and be a sad MM. lol.
Update: logged back in to submit ticket (still in highmountain) and saw puddle directly in front of me. Quickly switched talent with book, flare, trap, tame, boom... done.

Got Treble 7/30/17 around 2:15PM realm time! Only took me about 15 minutes to track him down and tame. I went around and looked for the small oil puddles, and camped the cave at coords 39.0 43.4. Just kept flare up the entire time until he walked through it and hit tame! By far one of my favorite pets I have now!
Can confirm when you walk past Bamm Megabomb in your OH with Treble, Treble will run over to him and Bamm says,
"Treble!"
"Good boy!"
"He seems to like you. Will you take care of him for me?"
"Back to master!"
Can also confirm the picture link Seamore posted a few comments below this. I followed the oil spills in that same direction and that IS the way he walks.
Happy hunting, everyone!

Hope this helps someone ... just got Treble as a BM hunter.
Stand just outside the entrance to the Mucksnout cavern, 38.3 / 42.4.
Treble does NOT track exactly to the road here, he takes a turn west out of the cave towards the bears. He makes an arc around through the bear area back to the road just next to the flight point (which is another place you can camp ... the fork of the road as it goes north of the flightpoint ... I almost got him there as there were oil spots when I landed but I didn't realize they form ahead of him rather than behind). Don't bother camping IN the bear area, too much aggro to distract you, but know that he does this arc since the road between the cave entrance and the flightpoint is not going to have him path on it, regardless of what some path images show.
Drop flares (on cooldown) on the edge of the road where you see white flowers (may be affected by ground clutter visual settings but I don't think so). Make a run through the path before you start camping if you want to see if you get lucky, but, if you don't find spots just camp this spot and keep flaring/trapping.
Drop a trap (freezing or tar) on the cave entrance where the road forms a small ridge.
Drop your other trap in the grass where you see a bit more dirt.
Both traps should be at the outer edge of where your flare is illuminating (opposite edges)
Treble CAN trigger traps when out of flare viewability, it just happened to me. You don't see the effect until you re-flare. But the trap will disappear. If a trap disappears, flare on that trap spot. He should be impeded. Then use Binding Shot to hold him a bit longer and tame him.
Oil spots seem to appear AHEAD of his walking path. 2 appeared near me BEFORE Treble triggered the trap, ahead of the direction he was walking.

I found an oil puddle next to
Rafat Smokehoof
who is the flight master of The Witchwood. I cast flare and sure enough Treble appeared. Used ice trap and tamed him. I found another near by puddle down the path from Rafat as you head NE, well out of the flare so I'm assuming they are visible for a short while without casting flare. The puddle disappeared after about 20-30 seconds.

Treble tamed, 18:02, Area 52. This is the best spot to get him, the cave entrance at 48:34. Serves as a choke point he has to pass through. Drop freezing trap in the middle of the entrance and keep the flares up, reseed flares and trap as necessary to keep them up. A few min, SNAP, got him. Commence tame.

For anyone looking to add 2 of these puppos to your collection (due to the need for 2 of the same pet to have the same look as of 8.0) - I camped both of mine at Mucksnout den - tip of advice. SAVE your freezing trap. Use the tar trap if you have it, and your flare. When he triggers the tar trap you will have much more time to lay down your freezing trap (he moves quite quickly, I was surprised honestly). Once you set your freezing trap on him, your flare can run out and he will be stuck. So if you have him in a trap, you dont need to worry about your flare running you - you can go ahead and reflare, and then tame!
I tamed my first one at 8:11pm server time (Moon Guard), tamed him again in the exact same location at 8:31pm server time! So if you want 2, be prepared to camp for approx 20 minutes (not too bad honestly)

Successful tame September 13, 2018, Patch 8.0.1 on Gnome Beast Mastery Hunter. I camped the Southern cave entrance of the Bloodhunt Highland (itself being North and slightly West of Skyhorn), hoping to catch him in the cave mouth as a chokepoint. I did end up following a trail of oil that led off of the road and along the hillside in the snow, taking me all the way to where the bridge past Skyhorn begins before making a loop (counter-clockwise, to the North), and returning.
The tame itself was relatively simple, I used a combination of Flare and Tar Trap to discern his location, then used Freezing Trap. He triggers traps while stealthed, and the duration on Freezing Trap is long enough that once he is frozen, you can just wait for your Flare to come off cooldown. If you think he will break free before the tame is complete, set up another Tar Trap just ahead of him. Otherwise, you have more than enough time to Concussive Shot, wait for Flare, lead with a Freezing Trap, then Flare, Tame, done!

Don't bother trying to tame him if you didn't unlock mechanical pets.
As of BfA, you're better off being on Marksmanship because you get

He is marked as hostile, but will not aggro even as you're taming him. He'll keep walking away oblivious to his surroundings. He'll walk past elites and groups of mobs, so the
伪装
talent helps more than the speed buff alternative.
His path is linear and he walks back and forth from one end to the other.
He moves very slowly, at about walking speed, so you can always catch up to him if you know where he is, but he somehow still covers a great distance if you miss some oil puddles and don't know where to go. The entire circuit is very long (maybe over an hour?) and the markers currently on Wowhead don't cover the South-Western end where he spends a lot of time on a complicated path.
The puddles he leaves behind last ~5 minutes. He drops one every 10 seconds or so.
I've found lots of hunters in the area, but none of them seemed interested in tracking him. This is probably the proximity to
神射手营地
, so I wouldn't worry about someone stealing him even on high population servers.
If I can find a way to export my TomTom waypoints, I'll try to post his entire path. It's long.

According to petopia, the dog scales 10-50.
As of 28.01.2021, this is not true.
Hunter 20lvl sees it as 40lvl in all timelines. As a consequence, it is impossible to tame.
Don't waste your time.

I've concluded after chasing down both
突进
and
冲刺
that they do not path in a circuit, but do a patrol from point A to B (what those exact points are I am uncertain, but the waypoint map above gives a great ballpark).
Simply sitting in one spot waiting and mindlessly throwing traps for an hour is silly. You can easily follow the path indicated by the waypoint map above and quickly find the oil trail.
I've added a screenshot that shows what the
Small Oil Puddle
小滩油渍
looks like, and even how to determine direction from each puddle.
Good luck tracking these ones down! I had a lot of fun and it took maybe 25 minutes to find both of them back to back. :)

Went to tame this pet. I had Rexar still assigned as a follower so he attacked the doggy as soon as I targeted it. Luckily it has a bit of health and Rexar still has legion level damage. Doggy lived, walking out the other side of my flare. Suggest unassigning all followers in order hall before heading out. Otherwise, don't target Treble until you have him in a frost trap.
With ground clutter at 0, it was easy to see the oil puddle trail. At least 4 puddles long. Found a trail of puddles leaving the tunnel and leading along where the white
