Started this Quest Last Night will post when I am finished to give an IDEA of how long this takes. I don't plan to Grind Daily but will try to update Numbers and any tips as I come accross them.
The First Quest on each turn in has been giving me 82 rep/per turn-in. Last night completed 5 turn-ins for 404/3000.
(404/3hrs = 134rep/hr -- 42,000rep/134 = 313hrs -- 313hrs/24hrs = 13days) just a Thought but it took me 17 days to get to lvl60
LVL63 HUMAN WARLOCK, XFGREAPER on STORMSCALE.
Group and I'll grind with you.

You don't need to be exalted with Darnassus anymore to be able to ride the mount.

This NPC can be killed by Horde, and attacking him will not cause the Horde player to flag for PvP.

I've been getting 250 rep for the first quest.

Note to Herbalists: There is a Black Lotus spawn point under the Frostsaber Rock near Shy-Rotam's altar. Among the three herbalist alts I have taken thru this grind, I have collected at least 5.
Since Black Lotus is on a rare spawn timer, it only shows up once or maybe twice a day at any given location.
Also, since they dropped the XP needed to level post 60 with Patch 3.0.3, if you start at 60 you can easily ding three levels from MOB XP alone.

Im going for both Bloodsail amiral title (exalted) and this mount =) tho.. the bloodsail were done within 3 hours in 1 day. and I think this mount quest will be pretty easy too? =)

If you have decided to commit to the grind, you may as well take advantage of the earning opportunities it presents.
Skinners will have a field day on the bears and chimeras (and the cats you have to fight through to get to the quest giver). You will get rugged leather mostly with some thick and the associated hides. The bears also skin out to warbear leather about 30% of the time which is used by LWers to make Warbear Woolies (recipe from Timbermaw vendor) which DE into Large Brilliant Shards.
Miners will be passing rich and small thorium nodes as well as mithril and truesilver. One of my alts leveled up to 360 mining on the rich thorium nodes during the grind.
Herbalists will find Mountain Silversage and Icecap all over and the occasional Black Lotus. You should be able to skill up to 350 on the Icecap. The Silversage and Icecap sell for 15 - 20 gold per stack of 20 on the AH on my realm as I am writing this. The Black Lotus doesn't sell consistently on my realm but when it does, I can get 2 or 3 gold each.
Tailors will get lots of runecloth from the Winterfall furbolgs and enchanters will get tons of greens for fodder. This level green DE's to Illusion Dust, Greater Eternal Essences and Large Brilliant Shards all of which sell well on the AH as they are still used in some very useful enchants. Rares and epics (blues and purples) drop occasionally from almost anything you might be killing and from the chests that spawn in the Winterfall Village.
Before you start, do the 'Luck Be With You' quest from the lady troll in Everlook to get the Cache of Mau'ari. This lets you get shards which drop from all of the mobs you will be killing to turn in for E'ko. These are items which can be consumed to give 10 minutes buffs of various types or vendored for 15 silver each. I kept track on one of my alts and sold all of the E'ko obtained during the grind and got over 50 gold just from that.
On all of the alts I have taken through this, I have reached exalted with Timbermaw Hold by turning in the Winterfall beads long before I got the Wintersaber mount.
If you start at 58, you will almost certainly be over 62 from mob XP before you are done. And I kinda like hitting Hellfire Peninsula at 63.

DO NOT KILL HIM! You lose 250 rep if you do. If you're at 0/3000 neutral and you kill him, you can't get quests from him and basically screw yourself over if you wanted to get the mount. Kill his pet as much as you want though, no rep loss there.

If you have lost your Wintersaber Trainer reputation after you faction changed, just talk to this NPC to get your rep back!

If you start this grind as soon as lvl 58 and don't have heirloons and / or are in crappy gear, you might want to consider doing the first 3 or 4 quests in the Hellfire Peninsula, as the rewards are very nice for many if not all classes, and will give you a nice boost, regardless of your faction..

you can be standing right on the exclaimation point/question mark for this guy and not see him. when this happens look up. see the big rock extending over you. he is on top of it where you cant see him. you will have to go around the rock extension to its base and climb on top of it and go to the edge.

After reading here I felt there wasn't enough regarding the
length of time of the laps
, though I very much appreciated the hard work all posters (notably Kevthedude) put forth to clarify how they did this grind.
Regarding the time, in minutes, of doing one lap of just the first two quests (Frostsaber Provisions and Winterfall Intrusions) in 4.0:
-I've found that
it takes me 10 minutes to do both quests
, timed from acceptance at Rivern to turn in at Rivern.
-I pick up the quest then I stay North heading EAST and do the Chillwind meat first. Then I go SOUTH and I get the Shardtooth bear meat. By then, 4 minutes have clocked (usually).
-I head East after this to the Winterfall Furbolgs. If the mobs are numbered perfectly, I am done with this quest by the time 8 minutes have clocked after the time of my acceptance of the quest.
-If the mobs (usually Shaman) are inadequate, and I have already scoured the camp and the upper ridge to the South first, then I start clearing all mobs on first the lower 2 tiers of the village (just inside the gates south of the two new Timbermaw questgivers), then kill all remaining Ursas, including all Ursas on the upper ridge. IMHO, the groups of three have a 50% chance of being Shaman, so I prioritize those groups (basically I'm hoping for a three-fer). Sometimes, though, these groups of 3 mobs despawn for an hour or so (I think other players killing the totems reset them sometimes but I'm not sure).
-After a while you see a pattern of mobs that are either/or and some that are always Ursa. Usually to avoid not having enough Shaman on the next circuit, I generally clear any Ursa if (1) it is in my way and that (2) sometimes spawns as a Shaman.
-I am on a warrior, so I use Charge and Intercept whenever up, and both my Throws to move quickly. I do not use any movement increasing pots/trinks.
-I also use my epic land mount between mobs and use Charge/Intercept whenever they light up when riding my mount.
-If you see a horde or alliance lowbie at the Winterfall Furbolg mobs, it makes sense to help them out to get rid of them sooner. I use single target spells when I see a horde player, but I'll target their off-mobs if I need it. If it's a horde 80 I leave them alone; an alliance 80, I try to team up with if that's feasible.
-I have done these 2 quests in groups of 2 and of 3, and we never ran out of meats for Frostsaber Provisions since the drop rate is now 100%.
-Now getting to the point: to give you an idea of how long this would take, if you just did these two quests
from Revered to Exalted, it would take approximately 6 hours and 30 minutes for a best case scenario
, also as a Human, if you lucked out and had 5/5 Winterfall Shaman present at the Village on each lap. (I am using Kevthedude's numbers here, 38 laps for both Frostsaber Provisions and Winterfall Intrusions).
-In actuality it took me about 3 hours and 30 minutes to get halfway through Revered (from 0 to 10500/21000), not stopping for any herbs, using my mount between kills and using Charge and Intercept. I took a break for 10-15 minutes too. (Around 19 runs or so).
-To give you an idea of how long a lap takes as an Herbalist, which my warrior is, it took me an additional 2 minutes per lap (12 minutes instead of 10) to herb just those herbs that were on my path (not up a hill or anything I had to look for). And I got about 30 herbs for one run. Not only does this suck up whatever bag space I have but it also adds an additional 78 minutes (about 1 hour and 20 minutes extra) to the grind from Revered to Exalted. I am suddenly not as interested in the herbs as I used to be, despite them going for over 80g per stack on my server. (A friend of mine claims she was able to complete her last 12,000 rep points in about 4 hours as a Night Elf).
Notwithstanding flying in Azeroth in a few days, I hope this post will help anyone still on an epic land mount during Cat.
PS I forgot to mention if the Shaman mobs for Winterfall Intrusion aren't there, and you hurry and grind everything till your Shaman spawn, my data shows it takes 15 minutes instead of 10 to finish the circuit for the 2 quests.

not sure what's up with this, but my first visit to Rivern Frostwind, he gave me the quest to collect tiger cubs "Get Them While They're Young." one trip out, collected the required 8 cubs, returned to him and turned in the quest-- for 3,350 reputation with the frostsabers, and 22,550 exp... and a Winterspring Cub.
the temporary companion. along with the "They Grow Up So Fast" quest. according to the quest, as soon as i collect the 20 whiskers, 20 runecloth, 20 rugged leather and 80 gold, i'll be given the reigns to my new Winterspring Frostsaber mount and a 'cubs first toy' item.....
2 quests?
here i was all geared up for an epic rep grind?
*sigh*
yeah. as was said earlier- 'extremely much easier'
*sigh*
XD
*edited to correct number of whiskers from original post of 8, to correct number of 20.

As nobody has mentioned it, as of Patch 4.1, Rivern Frostwind is now a level 85 elite with 232,000 HP. His pet is still level 50.

Does he still sell the mount?

As of 4.3 it appears that he no longer sells the mount at exalted.

This site really needs to be updated...Why would it say he sells the item, if it is only gained by a quest? As well as trying to find other npcs, beasts, etc that exist in the game but cannot be found here, or a location is unavailable?

As of patch 5.2 this mob gives no rep lose when killed if you put
冬刃豹训练师
at war. Also sometime in MoP all players with lower than 0/3000 neutral rep with the faction were bumped back up to 0/3000 neutral. Prior to this change players could kill this NPC over and over to go all the way to 0/36000 hated, even though it gave no benefits.

This is marked as Alliance and Horde quest, but appears to only be Alliance. Can anyone else confirm this?
评论来自
GDerkon
If you are Horde, and did the Venomhide quests and got the FoS, when you log in an Alliance char, you will have the mount and the FoS, but the Alliance ones.
So, no double doing this.
TLDR; If you're Ally you'll see your FoS (Winterspring Frostsaber), If you're Horde you'll see the other FoS (Venomhide Ravasaur)

It's true that getting one mount means you get both (and the FoSs of course), if you want the rep - say, trying to get those 100 exalted rep - you're gonna have to do the quests.
Here's to hoping it'll bring me to 99/100 *crossing my fingers*
Edit: It did get me to 99/100 *yay*
