Game time ran out a little while back.Logged in a lowbie in Stormwind and found people just idling about with the proper "pets" on display, fed with pet biscuits too. /salute'd, got the achievement, logged right back out.'Achievements' these days...
It is definitely account wide. Made a random 1lvl char on a realm where a helpful soul from Reddit had parked his char with Baneling. Got the achievement, logged back into my realm and my main had it.
It took a lot of effort, and more than a little luck, but I just managed to log onto a sub level 20 toon on my not-currently active account, summon my mini thor, target him, and type /salute .I'm so proud of this day, 20 years in the making.
this doesn't make me want to play WoW.but it does inspire me to grab my SC and SC: Broodwar discs and reinstall them.

So I've done this on all my Horde characters and got the same result. Simple yellow text saying I had completed the achievement. Nothing in the Achievements tab.Happened to look at some Alliance alts and saw they had the achievement in their tab. Did a / salute with a low level Gnome and got the achievement notification banner with him. Still have nothing on my Horde guys.I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but I'd be interested to know if anyone else has experienced this. Posted a bug report on the forums.
