The gnomes are coming!
The Running of the Gnomes returns for its seventh year! Join our little pink-haired friends as they race from Dun Morogh to Booty Bay supporting the fight to end breast cancer. This year, the run will be held on the Scarlet Crusade-US realm on October 15 at 4:00 pm PDT / 7:00 p.m. EDT.
This event is a great way to show your support for the cause, and (probably) the best reason we can think of to play a pink-haired gnome.
More details can be found on the Running of the Gnomes blog here, and you can find updates on the Running of the Gnomes Twitter at @WarcraftCares.
I assume only for Alliance as the race goes through some very Horde-unfriendly territory ;)
Why only on 1 server?
I hope you get debuffed to level 1 and have to contend with PvE dangers throughout the run.
This looks like so much fun!
There was a big lack of pve dangers in that "race" from what i saw. What's the point of running from Gnomeregan to Booty Bay is there's nothing that will kill you and there's no one to race against?I was expecting some kind of instanced gameplay where you're scaled to level 1 and stripped of your gear, like in the stranglethorn brawl in brawler's guild. You'd also be unable to use your mounts.I know it's an early version, but that seemed like a snoozefest.
the blog link doesn't seem to work :(
Now this is one micro holiday I can not wait and unless any unfortunate circumstances, I WILL be doing this !
Pretty big missed opportunity if Raandyy is not a NPC in this.
We need a Gnome Punting micro-holiday.
My bear form hungers!
What would actually be even better if Blizzard actually came forth and decided to make this an achievement for the micro holiday. Once said player did the race, they'll get an achievement and once they get it, Blizzard should make a donation to a 'fighting cancer' cause. Regardless, I will be there anyway.
They should make a Horde themed Goblin run too. It can start from Bilgewater Harbor in Azshara & finish all the way down at Gadgetzan.
Does anyone know if the race route will be temporarily instanced and/or sanctuary territory? If not, then this is effectively an alliance-only event. I know it's just for fun, but us horde players like to have fun too :)
Are they making the micro holiday the same as the real event? that would be neet if thats what they are planning.
