What about the Treasure Hunters in Scarlet Monastery that drops their gold on the ground when they die? Surely they're a referrence to Diablo! :)EDIT: The Treasure Hunters from the upcoming Scarlet Monastery Revamp
Can't forget 三态护腿
I found a "Quality Well", too.
I just found a champion Quill Fiend called Sarkoth in the Old Tristram Ruins. =)
We should also not neglect to mention 牛王之皮. Secret cow level!
I like thinking that Azeroth and Sanctuary are alternate universes and that some of these references (like the Maiden's Anguish for example) are pseudo-parallels to each other. I don't know, it makes it more interesting for me than to just think, "oh it's just named after each other by the devs" :P
Yes. Love it.
forgot the lich king helmet in ice cave part of act 3
Also, enchantress will ask if you're thirsty and offer to conjure water as a reference to mages in WoW. ^^
I thought this was mentioned earlier, but here's another Easter Egg that might be worth filing under "Community."Edit: Lol I found Zarhym again. This time he has invulnerable minions...=(
I don't know if this counts as a reference, but the Demon Hunter can summon a boar pet, which is a directly taken model from WoW of a black boar, found in many zones.
I can't link to him in the DB as it's a randomly-generated NPC, but I did include a mention under community as well as linked his forum thread :) Killed him a few times towards the end of Act II yesterday. Also added a few things like the Triune Amulet since yesterday. I think it's pretty cool how a lot of the random-stat BoEs greens from vanilla come from D2 armor types.I've tried to hold off on ability references because there are a ton of things that are more 'related mechanics' than 'clever non-obvious egg' --from red/blue globes for health/mana to things like Smoke Screen/Cloak of Shadows and Wizard/Mage Armors. Pets are more unique though, I'll see if I can grab a pic from my DH.
Just providing proof from achamber's comment above, but the Lich King's Helm of Dominion does appear to be in Diablo III.Visual proof can be found here. Saw this over on reddit.
Nobody mentionet 泰莱尔·火吻?
There's a random mob you can encounter in act 1 Defiled Crypts, which is a nice reference to sites like WoWhead, called "DataMiner" flavour text "unearths spoils".. He's just sitting around mining stuff randomly. Made me LOL when i came across him last week. :)
Weapons in Diablo with the +attack speed effect seem to have the same particle effect as weapons in WoW enchanted with Mongoose.
"Your curiosity will be the death of you."First said by Zhar the Mad in DiabloThen Kel'thuzad in Warcraft III and the Naxxramas teaser trailerAnd now Lloigor the Crazed in Diablo IIINot really sure what category it would fall under...
(While I know this will never get looked at by anyone in charge and Blizzard, and people will just flame me anyhow, I want to say it all the same... )It would be really nice if guild experience were filtered by number of guild members, which would allow smaller guilds to actually grow as opposed to being forced to mass invite hundreds of people you don't know, have members get lost in the long run, etc just to level the guilds. The guild perks are lovely, but a tiny guild like mine (Currently level 3 or 4, with just 2 members in it) can never achieve the greatness of those higher things because 2 people do not provide the incredible amount of guild xp required to level. If guild experience points were to be done in the same way as character experience would be, you could scale it according to guild members. So a guild with under 20 members, for example, would gain far greater guild xp during quests and so forth than a guild with 100 members, and that 100 member guild would get more xp per member than a 1000 member guild. This way, everyone is entitled to the fun items in a guild, and the guild quality stands up. In a guild with hundreds of members, you are easily ignored and forgotten. Also, there are only so many members per server, so if you have a bunch of guilds out there with 1000 members each, the lesser guilds do not stand a chance to ever make the amount of members required to actually level that guild. Just a little food for thought. With Mists of Pandaria still in Beta, there is time to factor in guild experience changes if you wanted to include guilds with lower numbers of members and casual type players. Thanks for your time.
