I live in Australia, I'm not allowed to pick up my copy until 7pm on the 7th, because that co-insides with the midnight release over there apparantly!
I am not really excited about Cataclysm release.Of course, I am sure I'll enjoy rated BGs, the new huge quest lines, real heroics and more. But I have no intention to buy it on release or even a week after.I bough Wotlk 4-5 days after release and my exploration of the new zones was spoiled by "waiting lines" on mobs and army of gankers ( Since releases always have been massive gank fests ).I'll enjoy ( and survive ) the Christmas period and Cataclysm will come after.
11 PM on the 6th is when my local GAME store opens. I have a CE safely tucked away.No intentions to run any dungeons or anything so late but first thing for sure, i'm gonna start my levelling. Unless the EXP rewards were turned down since beta, real first 85s will probably go on day one, so I see no harm in chilling out and taking it slowly. Thankfully i'm on a PVE server, so ganking won't be an issue <3
the fact that the servers aren't going to be up until 3 am EST really killed it for me. I'm going to go get it, install it...then probably go to bed, whereas I stayed up until 7 am the night of WotLK because I could play right away. Also, blizzard allowing the game to be downloaded without having to go to a physical retailer wasn't a good idea overall IMO. While very convenient for players who can't get to the store right away, it hurt the retailers who are really one of the vertebrae in the backbone of the gaming industry. I feel like a lot of retailers lost pre-orders because it doesn't make sense to stand out in the freezing cold weather for hours and eat crappy pizza when you can just download it from the comfort of your own home. So now places like Gamestop are forced to offer coupons and other craziness to entice people to come into their store. I may be looking into this a bit too much, but I feel like it was a little short-sighted on blizzards part; especially in this time of economic hurt.
No, sadly i have to wait for my copy to get to me a few days after the 7th =(. I should have gotten express delivery from GameStop.
I'm going to go at midnight because I don't want to have to wait in-case gamestop runs out, like they did with wrath AND bc, I won't be able to play til Friday probably, but I'll have it installed. I'm not planning on staying for any festivities, too many people in my area that play wow that are pretty immature, they probably all play orc death knights.
Dont forget Gamebreaker.tv has a 'Legendary' Cataclysm party going on.
I will be at the Best Buy - Roseville, Mn at 9pm on my Birthday Dec.6 waiting in line for World of Warcraft: Cataclysm - Collector's Edition. The temperatures high for Monday is 15 and low 5. Dress warm for those going to be standing outside in the cold winter weather.
I'll be leaving work at 10pm to head up to my local GameStop in Western PA.It's suppose to snow! Hooray!
I ordered a pair of CE for cataclysm overnight just so I wouldn't have to stay up and go out for a midnight release. Should arrive on the 7th or 8th, 9th at the latest I imagine. Somehow I think I can survive that :)
I'll just get my copy and go home. Why would I want to hang around with a bunch of kids with a low gearscore?
Same goes for me ;DGotta love GAME. And how they handle preorders. ^^ Unlike GameStop with their "But you can't just preorder a collectors edition D: QQ" x.xAlso: Captcha - surviese 1715,
