hmm mabye they want to show his face behind the helm I can't think of anything else. The battle with the Lich King ends with Arthas not The Lich King?edit: actually if you look at the end of the video before he falls it looks like he's about to say something, as for no frostmourne I personally believe that you seperate it from him in halls of reflection from froustmourne.
Perhaps he reaches for his helm because, in some way, Arthas somehow lurks within, shattered and broken beyond repair, hiding himself in shame and wanting to not ever be seen again.
Now only if that reduced the Death Knight population...
The helm is what merged Arthas with Ner'zhul, was it not?Perhaps when it fell off, Ner'zhul's hold on Arthas vanished and the lack of a heart killed him?just my two cents.
im surprised!epic, as it should be. i hope arthas actually does not end his reign there, just.. not like that!
how do you kill that cannot be killed? you kick it in the nuts and give him a elbow bash to the face to get his helmet off lolz, no but seriously i thought ner'zhul was immortal, so he just needs to find another meat condom right?
Because we'll probably be destroying/shattering/getting rid of Frostmourne, he can't really be reaching for it. As his crown falls off, he reaches for it, because crowns are generally the next (or top) piece of clothing/gear that represents royalty. Or the fact that he doesn't want to go down, and completing the armor set shows that he isn't defeated. But, as we can see, he doesn't grab the helm back.
can't frostmourne like not break? what if we like stab him with his own sword? wearing gloves of course xD
lol I watched the video before reading what you wrote, first thing that popped into my head was that that was some sort of symbolic thing. Like he's a king and want to die a king, with his crown. He knows he has no chance but wants to do that one last thing. Now I feel stupid >.<
I want the Lich king to DIE! not run away not come back DIE.The thing most other bosses in wow don't do. Most others just die and come back this guy better stay down and not go anywhere else till the raid reset.
Nooo my Dumbledore....
Finally...If you noticed in Rise of the Lich King (book), Arthas did not really fuse with Ner'zhul until Arthas donned the helmet, which had been encased in the Frozen Throne and, I'm guessing, the helmet that Ner'zhul had used and put his soul in. When Arthas put it on, that was the final act of fusing the two together. Now, on his last moment of his life, maybe he thinks that if he dons the helmet again he will somehow regain the power he had when he first put it on all those years ago when he first became the Lich King we all love.Just my two cents. Just note that it's really late, so... =P
I'm telling you, WarCraft will end with all the gods, demi-gods and what not dead. Azeroth will be in the hands of mortals and then... war!
Ok, now these are my two cents. If I remember correctly in the Arthas book, at first it shows Arthas himself in a table with both a sick dying child, representing his human and innocent side dying, and an orc chieftain, Ner'zhul, goading him on to kill the child, to finish him, while the child begged to be heard, to survive. At the end of the book, we see the same scene again, but Arthas kills the child, and then turns and kills the orc. When I read that I remember thinking that it showed that Arthas was not a slave to his human feelings, or to Ner'zhul's goading and manipulations; that he was his own master now. I always thought it to mean that Arthas was in control, complete and totally; that in a way, the fuse failed according to Ner'zhul's plan, leaving Arthas in full power over everything Ner'zhul previously controlled.Just my thoughts..
At first I figured it to be symbolic, but then I figured we could be over-thinking. Notice how he gets on one knee, and shifts his weight to his leg, so he could pick the helm on the way up? Perhaps it's as simple as he wants to continue, but he's just... Done.I haven't read the books, so this is from an un-influenced perspective.
I still have hopes that we will see Arthas' ghost waving goodbye to Jaina or apologizing or ascending to heaven, redeamed and what not. I'd love to see something other than the Lich King just going kaput like most of other bosses.
Saurfang cleaved his arms to pieces, muradin hammered his legs to dust, Tirion sliced ashbringer through his chest, varian took his head. =) thats how he died
