Number 1: The comment above is about to be removed...Also, really thought they would think differently about the shadow word death thing, was hoping they would change about that.
I believe priests have no defense when it comes to pvp... In 1on1 I have never seen a priest win.
A priest guildie usually places a Lightwell during Loatheb. Probably one encounter while is Mid-useful. Or, whatever.
I love how they completely missed out the issues for Shadow Priests and scaling with haste. Also, how they bypassed the Prayer of Healing and Penance nerfs, they are quite heavily discussed yet Ghostcrawler chose to ignore them... :/Another disappointing Q&A...
Boo, This was really disappointing, they answered rather silly and softball questions in my opinion. They could have mentioned anything in the "half of Q&A devoted to one spec" about WHY shadow does not scale well, why we don't have any damage dealing cooldowns to break up the monotony or provide any amount of burst. Why can't we get SW:P to take Shadow Weaving into account when it refreshes, etc. Also, lol at "you always have the option of going to the dark side as Shadow to either melt faces in PvP".
"Q: Since Shadow priests focus solely on dealing Shadow damage, do you feel that they can potentially be crippled more easily than other casters who can focus on dealing considerable damage through multiple schools of magic?Ghostcrawler: It’s just a feature of the class."You read it there first! Shadow priests are designed to be easily gimped. This Q&A makes me want to cancel my account, and I've never wanted to cancel my account. It's not worth losing out on playing my druid, though. New forms!
Developers are making me more disappointed day after day. Sadly i'm losing my faith about class balances and the future of the game.Nice work Blizzard.
Pennance was a little too good, to be entirely honest. A Disc priest is more intended for bubbling than direct healing, and yet that's what Pennance does with a bit of holy damage folded in as well.As for Prayer of Healing- it may have been too good as well, since it heals based upon party setup as opposed to proximity, and CoH is supposed to be a priest's main AOE heal anyway. Although I think the main QQers are people who use PoH as a crutch for not using a healing mod. At least the ones I personally know who are QQing about it either don't use a healing mod, or based their entire healing style around it, instead of CoH and Flash Heal/Renew.
In short from the Priest Forums here and at Blizzard's Forums, "Priests are not happy. Run."
Not to mention PoH eats mana for a disc priest. Also, I use a healing add on and I still use PoH a lot. It's a great spell for healing groups of targets during AoE damage, and great for Loatheb where the tank doesn't take much damage. Start casting before the buff ends so just as the buff ends it hits and you can get off that and a penance on the tank and good to go.
