hmm it didn't answer much but it better than nothing. I just really hope they do this right because i can see some populations changing on realms. This also means that we cant have a alliance orc :(
I wonder how it will work with pvp servers if you have more than one character. Will they add a server change too?
Im not too big of a fan on this change but If they are going to allow faction changes why not race changes ? IE . Im alliance i switch to horde and choose my race, but if I switch back to alliance i can't choose my race again
This should be interesting... I wonder if they have thought out the idea that someone out there will be stupid enough to pay for it, and then flame the ally/horde about how bad said faction is, then just switch back later. That might be a problem for a bit.
A Q&A's kind of pointless if they can't answer any of the questions.
I think my Undead Priest is going to be becoming a Draenei Priest soon.
This is a bad idea imo. Maybe its the beginning of the end for our beloved WOW.
woho now i can change my gnome mage to a undead mage :D finally
The story possibilities are kind of interesting. Especially any transitions from the alive to the undead. The Atkins Switcher will at last be possible :)
I would really prefer to have your toon betray its faction and switch so I could have an Undead on the Alliance side, but that would be a lot of work to fix PVP around that so I understand why they are not allowing it.However I am looking forward to converting a couple of my retired Horde toons, especially if you get a server transfer as part of the deal.I also forsee a lot of loot and gbank ninja's exploiting this service on a regular basis...
For you nay-sayers .. why exactly do you think this is a bad idea? I don't see what the down-side is. I also don't see myself ever using this feature, but I can see why some people would want to.EDIT: typo...
Blood Elf Warlock -> Human (?) WarlockTauren Druid -> Nelf DruidBlood Elf Priest -> Human (?) PriestSince Lich King, my home server has pretty much gone from 50/50 Horde/Alliance to 25/75 Horde/Alliance- probably because most of the Horde 80s have moved to PVP servers. I'm tired of losing Wintergrasp, and I'm also tired of not being able to find a decent guild.
A lot of people are saying this is stupid, is it really a bad idea or is it just the usual wow community resistance to any positive change? This could also be used to help the realms where one faction outnumbers the other immensely, and help people who want to play with friends of the opposite faction. I really don't see how me getting to play with some real life friends i didn't have access to play with before is hurting your game playJust because a small sect of people want this game to be stupidly time consuming as it was in vanilla doesn't mean they should take this game back to the stone ages.
I saw the clouds of this coming on the horizon when Blizzard implemented identical faction rewards on both sides (IE: Argent Tournament gear). It seemed even more possible when they said they were basically shoring up factions that had fewer mounts than others to be even, basically making it so that every Alliance/Horde mount has a cross-faction equal.I am not surprised at all, and I think it's been in the works for quite some time. However, the real thing I am interested in his how they will handle old quests and rewards. A level 80 25-man geared Orc who has never done a single thing for the Horde is rather amusing.
