Marksmanship Hunter Rotations in Dragonflight
Single Target Priority
The Marksmanship Hunter Single Target rotation will follow a priority system that focuses on maximizing the cooldown efficiency of a few core spells, and managing your tier set bonus. In simple terms, you will dump your Focus using

. Marksmanship is a medium-paced spec where every global matters hugely. The biggest killer of your DPS will be leaving dead time between spell casts.

Most trinkets should be synchronized with

, and Marksmanship generally pairs well with powerful on-use Trinkets, especially if they happen to line up naturally.
Offensive Cooldown Usage for Marksmanship Hunter in Dragonflight
Marksmanship has a number of abilities that can be considered cooldowns, depending on your definition. They are generally 45 seconds or 2 minutes, and it is important to know when to sync them up, and when to just send them without worrying about synchronization.

is our big, mean, 2-minute cooldown. It reduces the cooldown of our main nukes, but does not directly provide a damage increase unless

is talented. Because of this, you should not worry about delaying on-use trinkets and other spells for

, as it will not increase their damage and you actually want to spend most of your Trueshot window casting

I didn't see any mention of lock and load. Should I use it as soon as it procs or hold it for a lethal shot proc? I've been holding it until ~2 seconds left on the proc to see if I can get a lethal shots proc, and if I don't I use the proc. Potentially wasting more procs I guess. What do you suggest?

Glad I'm not the only one who noticed this, I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere on the official feedback thread on the forums.

I just want to clarify on Precise shots there. You say Outside of Careful Aim: do NOT waste Precise shots during True Shot. considering it can get 1 or 2 charges at from a single Aimed Shot do you mean spend 1 charge similar to playing with BfA's MasterMarksman or do you dump both charges at once if an Aimed Shot gives 2?

I have a question. With the 1 min CD for both double tap and resonating arrow, is it preferred to spend them at the same time? I notice some hunters use DT before their opening Aimed Shot and some don't. When I do use Double Tap for pull, it's 10-15 seconds off from Resonating Arrow, and I'm not sure if I should be casting it on cooldown or if I should save it to pair them together. What do you think?

Start pre-casting Steady Shot about 2.5 seconds before the encounter starts.
Cast Resonating Arrow.
Activate Trueshot and begin casting Aimed Shot.
Cast Aimed Shot.
Use Rapid Fire.
Cast Chimaera Shot to dump a single charge of Precise Shots.
Proceed with your standard Trueshot rotation."
WHY would anyone cast SS as the first shot of an opener?
Make a macro tying DT & TS together, like so:

Drop Resonating Arrow ON pull, hit your macro.
AiSx2 9get 3 total with DT)
Chimera to dump a charge 9if specc'ed into it)
RF
AiSx2 (with about 15% or so haste, you should be able to land the second AiS just as Res Arrow is expiring; if you hit macro & THEN drop Res Arrow, you should have a few 1/10ths of a second buffer)
RF
ArcS/Chimera x2 (you should have 2 charges of Precise Shots), OR RF if you need focus, and then use the second charge (if you only had enough focus to use 1)
If you have 53 focus, you can cast 1 AS & 1 charge Precise Shots.
This way gets you a total of FIVE AiS on target DURING Res Arrow, plus at least 1 ArcS or Chim & a RF.
When you get to just under 1s remaining on Resonating Arrow CD to finish, plant it, DT, repeat as much as your focus will allow.

In the opener with the 4 piece and not taking volley, you cast the first aimed shot without any focus spent, which means it won't be buffed by trick shots and thus miss out on +30% damage from the tier set. This seems like a big dps loss for a double tapped aimed shot.

The single target rotation doesn't have any "check boxes above" mentioned at the top of the article and isn't consistent with the currently recommended talents for raiding (for example the recommended talents don't include explosive shot).

Is the "Multiple Target Opening Sequence" correct? Why would I wait until the end of the first rotation to cast my first multishot? Isn't worth the trick shots buff on the first 2 aimed shots ?
