This strategy guide covers how to defeat the Krosus boss encounter and notable trash on all difficulties. Krosus is found at the end of The Shattered Walkway, a broken bridge that stretches toward the Broken Shore from the Nighthold. The raid must pass through the base of the Nightspire and down the stairs beyond it to reach the bridge.
He is one of the five bosses in the Nighthold's main terrace that can be engaged in any order:
Spellblade Aluriel
Star Augur Etraeus (Astromancer's Rise/Eternal Observatory)
High Botanist Tel'arn (Shal'dorei Terrace)
Krosus (The Shattered Walkway)
Tichondrius (Captain's Quarters)
Many groups will fight Krosus as the seventh boss of the raid; while he is mechanically simple, he has a hard DPS check that may be made easier with gear from other fights. He is the first boss of the

wing of LFR.
Krosus is available the week of January 17th on Normal and Heroic, January 24th on Mythic, and February 21st on LFR.

The boss loot table is the same between all difficulties: ilvl 860 LFR, 875 Normal, 890 Heroic, 905 Mythic. All loot has a chance to proc a higher ilvl through the Warforged and Titanforged system.

Overview
– Players encounter Krosus on a broken section of bridge. Over the course of the encounter, Krosus smashes sections of the bridge, forcing players to retreat into a dwindling space. If Krosus is not defeated in time, players will be left with no foothold, and will plunge into the sea and perish.

Notable Trash Mobs
The trash mobs leading toward Krosus are the same enemies players faced leading up to Spellblade Aluriel in the Nighthold's terrace gardens. However, a few Dreadguards patrol the area.
Dreadguards affect the tank with

This reduces movement speed of the affected players by 50% for 12 seconds, and can cause difficulty in dodging other trash mechanics
Healers can dispel this debuff, but should primarily dispel tanks
Run away with Annihilating OrbAlthough it looks like you can skip trash on the descent toward Krosus, make sure to clear most packs. After the raid defeats Krosus, an image of Archmage Khadgar will spawn. Players must interact with Khadgar in order to return to the main Nighthold area and access further bosses. Khadgar will drop players right in the middle of one of the lower terraces, and this may cause trash mobs to aggro if they were not previously killed.
When players reach the crumbled stairs leading to the Shattered Walkway, they will encounter a

This debuff can be dispelled by healers or can be healed away

Upon defeating the three casters, Krosus will rise up from the water at the end of the Shattered Walkway. The raid should stay back from the edge of the bridge so they do not unintentionally pull Krosus.
Krosus Abilities
This guide provides tips and strategies for defeating the
克洛苏斯
encounter on Normal difficulty. Changes to the fight for Looking for Raid, Heroic, and Mythic difficulties are listed below in their respective sections, including suggestions for dealing with the new mechanics introduced in these difficulties.
The Krosus encounter is a single-phase fight with a hard "enrage" at 6 minutes, as Krosus will destroy a quarter of the bridge players are fighting him on every 90 seconds. Most of the fight is single-target, but every 90 seconds Krosus will summon a small number of adds that must be killed.
Note that players can walk right off the front of the bridge during the fight. These players will die, and you may struggle to reach them with battle resurrection effects. Take care in positioning, especially with
冲锋
-like effects.

The second Slam damages the bridge; the safe space is behind the cracksKrosus will cast

every 30 seconds, raising his fists high into the air and then smashing them with great force into the bridge.

will deal very heavy damage to the raid
However, if at least one player stands beneath each of his fists, the raid will take much less damage
The area under Krosus's fists is marked with small brown circles
Players who stand in these circles will take extremely heavy Physical damage
The two tanks should soak these
猛击
circles, using Active Mitigation or cooldowns to reduce the damage
All other players should avoid them, or they will likely take fatal damage
Krosus strikes the bridge with such force that the structure will begin to deteriorate. The second
猛击
will cause the front quarter of the bridge to fracture, and the third
猛击
will destroy the fractured area.
Players standing on the destroyed segment will fall into the water and instantly die
All players - including the tanks - must move back before the
猛击
connects
After 12 total
猛击
s, the entire bridge will be gone, and the raid will instantly wipe
This creates a 6-minute hard "enrage". The raid must defeat Krosus before the 12th
猛击
cast.
It is not possible for tanks to soak the third
猛击
, as to do so would require them to stand on the bridge segment that is being destroyed, and they would fall into the ocean and die. Fortunately, every third
猛击
will deal damage to the raid as if it is being soaked, even when it is not.

destinations, about 3 seconds before the

Players who stand in these areas will take moderate Fire damage when the

that is not soaked by a player will spawn a
燃烧的余烬
add instead
The raid should soak as many
燃烧的沥青
pools as possible to minimize the number of adds that spawn
Note that one player can soak multiple overlapping pools by standing where the pools intersect
Players should avoid soaking a
燃烧的沥青
that another player is standing in, and instead look for an unsoaked pool within reach
On Normal difficulty, he will throw fewer globs of
燃烧的沥青
than there are players in the raid, making it technically possible to soak all
燃烧的沥青
es.
Melee DPS should soak pools nearer to the boss, while ranged DPS and healers should soak the pools that spawn further from the boss. Abilities like
狂奔怒吼
or
狂风图腾
are useful for helping the raid reach and soak all the
燃烧的沥青
patches.
If any pools must go unsoaked, they should be ones that are closer to the boss, so that the resulting adds will be easier to kill while maintaining damage on Krosus.
Burning Ember adds have low health and will chain-cast
邪能爆破
on random targets.

deals moderate Fire damage to its target
The spell is interruptible, and Burning Ember adds should be interrupted or stunned to reduce their damage
The raid should quickly kill any Burning Embers that spawn
Then return to maximizing damage on Krosus

Krosus will occasionally target a ranged player for

, marking that player with a green arrow over their head.
After 5 seconds, the

will impact the targeted player, dealing heavy raid damage
Each player's damage taken from this event is reduced by their distance from the

The player targeted by
毁灭宝珠
should run to the far back of the bridge during the 5-second warning

As Krosus destroys the bridge, the maximum distance that players can create by running to the back of the bridge will decrease. This will lead to increased raid damage from

during the later stages of the fight.
On the final bridge segment, the targeted player should run to a back corner of the area
The rest of the raid should run to the diagonally opposite front corner
E.g. if the
毁灭宝珠
target runs to the back left, the raid should stack in the front right
Healers should use cooldowns to recover from these
毁灭宝珠
explosions
Orb of Destruction targets should run far from the raid
This spell is used erratically; the first one occurs early in the fight, and there can be a gap of up to a minute before the next
毁灭宝珠
is cast. Later in the encounter, Krosus may cast
毁灭宝珠
as frequently as every 15 seconds. Players must remain alert and ready to run if targeted, and healers should use cooldowns to recover from more frequent
毁灭宝珠
barrages.
邪能光束
Frequently, Krosus will attack the raid with
邪能光束
. This ability is not on a strict timer; it happens erratically throughout the fight.
Krosus will lift one hand and begin to cast
邪能光束
, a 4-second cast
At the end of the
邪能光束
cast, Krosus fires a wide fel laser from his raised hand down one side of the bridge
All players standing on that half of the bridge will take heavy damage
To avoid this mechanic, players must watch which hand Krosus raises, and step to the opposite side of the bridge
Dodging the
邪能光束
can be more difficult for players who are running out with
毁灭宝珠
or who are attacking Burning Embers. Always orient your camera so you can see Krosus.
Fel Beam can choose either side of the bridge

is the tank-swap mechanic in the encounter. Krosus will frequently apply

to his primary target.

deals no immediate damage upon application, but leaves a stacking DoT that lasts for 20 seconds
Krosus may apply this as frequently as every 2 seconds, but his other spell casts can delay

Tanks should swap tanking duties on 5-7 stacks of

Occasionally, one tank may need to take a few extra stacks, if the other tank is soaking

Looking For Raid Difficulty
There are no mechanical differences on the Looking for Raid difficulty of the encounter.

has been made slightly more lenient, with a 4.5-second cast time instead of 4 seconds.
Heroic Difficulty
Heroic Burning Embers cast FelburstOn Heroic difficulty, the damage from an unsoaked

is much higher, and will potentially wipe the raid if tanks do not soak

properly. (As always, every 3rd

automatically deals a "soaked

" amount of damage, so this will not be fatal.)
In addition,

timing on Heroic and higher difficulties is less forgiving.

has a 3-second cast time, meaning players must react more quickly on Heroic than on Normal.
Finally, the Burning Embers now cast

is an AoE, dealing damage to all enemies within 5 yards of its randomly-chosen target. The raid should be sure not to stack up too tightly while Burning Embers are alive.
Mythic Difficulty
Accelerated Burning Embers must be killed quicklyOn Mythic difficulty, Krosus will summon many more

All players should try to soak multiple

It is important to control where the Burning Ember adds spawn. If Burning Embers spawn far behind the raid, players may not notice when those Embers become

d, and may not be able to kill them in time. Ranged must soak all distant

es that are between the ranged and melee's natural stack points will go unsoaked.

For tanking on normal found it much easier to swap on 5-6 stacks, tanks being Druid and Warrior (875 and 879 ilvl respectively)
Previous stacks have already fallen off by that point, and makes it a hell of a lot easier on the healers (as 10 stacks is about 1million damage per second)

Any visual tell's that indicate he is on the 3rd Slam? Like is the bridge in worse shape (Visually) each time or broadcast alert message maybe?
