I think this is a trainer learned recipe. Very useful for ToL druids or Holy priests for raids.

does this stack with divine spirit, arcane intellect, mark of the wild and other buffs?

Stats for a priest, with below-mentioned talents and Blessing of Kings:
33 int
34.7spirit
12.1 healing
Outside the 5-second rule : 34.7/4*2.5 = 21.7 mp5
Inside, 15% regen : 21.7*0.15 = 3.0 mp5
Inside, 20% regen : 21.7*0.2 = 4.3 mp5
Extra mana w/Innervate : 34.7*20/2 = 347 mana
Priest talents
2/2 Improved Divine Spirit
1/1 Spirit of Redemption
5/5 Spiritual Guidance

I would recommend the combination of this elixir as a guardian , and Adept's Elixir for Battle one , for a Moonkin druid as they will have approximately +6mp5 +dmg +spell crit , instead of getting the major mageblood one.

stack this up with Elixir of Healing Power (
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=22825
) and you got a great raid combo. the only downside is if you die you have to drink two more.

Like Medic said, you can learn this from a trainer. To the Alliance, is the trainer in Honor Hold named Gribble, in the tower just SW(south-west) of Honor Hold, coordinates 53,65.
Sorry, dont know about Horde.

One of the better guardian elixirs to use as a hunter.
It gives 450 mana.
Improves Aspect of the Viper with 15/mp5 which makes it equal to Elixir of Major Mageblood if you're using Aspect of the Viper anyway.
Additionally to a MM hunter it gives 14atp=1dps.
If you don't use Aspect of the Viper and aren't MM then the Mageblood is a good option but it's also alot more expensive.

For the cost-conscious Paladin/Hunter check-out the Elixir of Greater Intellect.
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=9179
It gives +25 int, but no spirit. Only 5 Int less, much cheaper to make/buy, and almost as good for the non-spirit using classes.

For a class with 30%+ active spirit based mana regeneration during the 5-second-rule (priests, druids, mages), this elixir will be superior to an
Elixir of Major Mageblood
(+16 mp5) after patch 2.4 hits the live servers - that is if you have a certain amount of intellect and spirit of course.
Regeneration values for a Holy Priest, with 544 Intellect and 553 Spirit (selfbuffed with 2/2 Improved Divine Spirit and the 1/1 Spirit of Redemption talent) on the current 2.4 PTR build (as of 10 March 2008):
Elixir of Major Mageblood (+16 mp5):
764 mana regenerated every 5 seconds while not casting
343 mana regenerated every 5 seconds while casting
Elixir of Draenic Wisdom (+30 Int and +30 Spirit):
800 mana regenerated every 5 seconds while not casting
343 mana regenerated every 5 seconds while casting
Mana regeneration inside of the five-second-rule is exactly the same with both elixirs, but the regeneration outside of the five-second-rule while using the Elixir of Draenic Wisdom exceeds the regeneration provided by an Elixir of Major Mageblood by 36 mp5 (!).
The beneficial effects from an Elixir of Draenic Wisdom will also scale with other raidbuffs, such as Blessing of Kings, Arcane Intellect and Mark of the Wild, while an Elixir of Major Mageblood will always provide the same static amount of +16 mana regeneration.

you forgot to also mention the amount of mana you also gain from the elixir. The extra bit of mana gained from this elixir makes it clearly the top pick among priests and druids. Further more the extra little bit of + healing when you are speced in the right places as a priest.

This is one of the better potions/elixirs to grind for discoveries since you can usually sell them for a profit.

Here's some mathcraft for you guys.
The following calculations are an effort to find out which would be a more desirable stat based on the length of combat (Intellect VS. Mp5)
Comparing
Elixir of Major Mageblood
to
Elixir of Draenic Wisdom
.
30 X 15 = 450
(This is to turn intellect into raw mana)
450 / 16 = 28.125
(It takes 28.125 ticks of 16Mp5 to equal 450 mana)
28.125 X 5 = 140.625
(This is converting the 28 different 5 second increments into 1 second increments)
140.625 / 60 = 2.343
(This is converting seconds into minutes)
----------------------
Elixir of Draenic wisdom is more efficient for fights lasting less than 2 minutes and 20 seconds, and Mageblood is more efficient if the fight is longer than 2 minutes and 20 seconds :)
I didn't want to fiddle with the spirit on the Draenic wisdom elixir concerning how much Mp5 it would grant... But in general if the fight lasts longer than 2 minutes, Mageblood elixir should still be better for mana conservation in long fights than Draenic wisdom, even for you priests, druids, and mages out there ;-)

While your calculations regarding the benefits of the additional 30 intellect = 450 mana are correct, the provided mana regeneration from the
Elixir of Major Mageblood
(+16 mp5) is still inferior to the +30 spirit / +30 intellect buff from
Draenic Wisdom
for at least some classes/specs
- For every mana-using class
without
talents or spells which allow 30% of mana regeneration to continue within the
Five-Second-Rule
, Major Mageblood is better if the fight lasts more than ~2 minutes and 20 seconds, as Xycolian has stated above. This includes Warlocks, Shamans, Hunters and Paladins.
- While certain classes/specs will have the aforementioned talents, they probably won't have enough base spirit from their equip to make the mana regeneration from Draenic Wisdom surpass Major Mageblood. This includes Holy/Discipline Priests and Restoration Druids with somewhat subpar gear, as well as most Mages, Shadow Priests and Moonkin Druids.
- Holy/Discipline Priests and Restoration Druids with decent equipment (and perhaps some Arcane-spec'd mages with both 3/3
Arcane Meditation
and
Mage Armor
, as well as spirit-heavy gear)
will
receive more mana regeneration from Draenic Wisdom than from Major Mageblood.
This only covers the effect of Draenic Wisdom on mana regeneration!
There might be other effects, such as the (minor) improvement to your spell crit chance, or additional effects from talents such as Priests'
Spiritual Guidance
, Druids'
Dreamstate
and
Lunar Guidance
, Mages'
Mind Mastery
, Hunters'
Careful Aim
, Paladins'
Holy Guidance
or Shamans'
Unrelenting Storm
and
Nature's Blessing
, which might make Draenic Wisdom more beneficial to you, even if you'll end up with less mana regeneration than with Major Mageblood.

This is arguably still the best guardian elixir for holy priests and resto druids, even at 80, when compared with the new regen/mana oriented guardian elixirs Elixir of Mighty Thoughts and Elixir of Spirit
Elixir of Spirit offers 50 Spirit.
Elixir of Mighty Thoughts offers 45 Intellect.
Elixir of Draenic Wisdom offers 30 Spirit and 30 Intellect.
By raw stats points alone, Draenic Wisdom has 60 (30 int+30 spirit), vs. 50 (spirit) and 45 (intellect).
Assuming the user is an alchemist and can create all of these potions. Draenic Wisdom has an even greater advantage: 90 stat points (45 int+45 spirit), vs. 75 (spirit) and 67.5 (intellect). Mixology ftw.
For a Holy Paladin or Resto Shaman, Mighty Thoughts would be the superior choice of these three, unquestionably -- and likely the weakest choice for Priests and Druids, even considering the potential bonuses from mana pool based regeneration effects (Replenishment, Hymn of Hope, etc.)
Narrowing it down to EoDW and EoS. Because these stats scale in effectiveness in relation to each other, I'll simply use my own character as a frame of reference. I'm a level 80 holy priest with (at time of posting) 625 int and 700 spirit, unbuffed.
Elixir of Spirit yields 12 mp5 (i5sr) and 14.5 Spell Power.
Elixir of Draenic Wisdom yields 10.7 mp5 (i5sr), 8.6 Spell Power, 450 mana, and .18% to crit.
(These figures do NOT include mixology)
It's close, but with all of the mana pool based regeneration mechanics, and crit being a now nearly universally beneficial healer stat, i'd give the edge to EoDW

It is sad on Blizzard's part that this elixir is still better (For Priests/Druid) than the WOTLK versions.
I'm surprised that they didn't just nerf this elixir to make the northrend ones look better (COUGH*Elixir of Major Agility*COUGH)

So combining this with Guru's Elixir you get in total:
20 Str
20 Stam
20 Agil
50 Int
50 Spirit
Thoughts as to whether this overall beats out Pure Mojo (38 mp5) or Frostwyrm (125 Spellpower)? I'm way too tired to do math atm but to me it seems like this would be more "useful" overall for both caster dps and Priest/Druid healers.
