The proc rate is only 5% :(
评论来自

This robe is crap, especially for an epic:
We'll assume the 5% proc rate listed on on the spell details. We'll also assume a frost mage with Imp Frostbolt. (.5 second reduced cast time and .1 reduction on the coefficient.)
We'll assume a flat 1000 dmg on non-crit frostbolts (easy number).
For the first 20 frostbolts (needed to proc the bonus) we have
x = 20 x 1000 = 20,000
Now, let's also overestimate and give the caster 4 frostbolts in the 10 second window (it would probably be closer to 3.5, but even giving some leeway, you'll see how poor this robe is.)
Multiplying the bonus by Frostbolt's coefficient (reduced by talents) we get:
y = (4 x ((130 x .71) + 1000) = 4369.2
That is four 1000 point frost bolts with the 130 dmg bonus applied (works out to 92 more damage per frost bolt.
So, the total done per proc is:
x + y = 24369.2
This equates to 24369.2/24 (spellcasts) = 1015.3, or +15 spell dmg overall.
Lets compare that with
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=31297
.
Ignoring the spell hit/crit on both items (that amount of hit FAR suprasses the crit available on this robes, we get the difference in flat spell dmg bonuses:
50 - 27 = 23.
Applied to frost bolts coefficient we're left with
23 * .71 = 16.33
Overall +dmg provided by epic Karazhan robes: 15.3
Overall +dmg bonus of Blue robes compared to Karazhan robes: 16.33
The blue robes are running about 25-50g on the Cenarius Auction House.
Don't waste the DKP.

got it this 2 days ago in kara and it is quite nice for a fire mage. nice spell crit, (just under 1%) good stats and the proc is amazing for scorch. procs around 5% and with a scorch build, once it procs start a pyro. trinket and pyro go great with the proc. ive had almost 8k pyro crit +ignite with it. im 10/48/3 so no spell power.
it is truly an amazing chest. looks good too unlike some others. spellstrike + this + trinket is a brutal combo. however chances are they wont proc at the same time but when they do it is a nice bonus
good luck on your quest to get this. it is by far the best robe ive seen so far.

lvl 70 warlock.
- does proc on initial dot application.
- does not proc on tick (as you'd expect).
- when the proc goes off you can use a similar trinket like saphirron's for double dip +dmg :o

recently got this from nightbane. it seems to proc alot more than the 5% proc rate said above considering i use fireblast whenever its up, and icelance after frostbite procs etc. very nice robe imo love the spirit and crit!

Unfortunately for me, this robe follows the trend of sidegrades and items you have, because they are epic. I like the look of it on my toon, but I will rarely use it over Bloodfyre Robes of Annihilation (
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28252
).
My pov (shadowpriest):
The spirit effect converts into 2.7 dmg with Imp. DS and a minor increase for our mana regeneration (oFSR), which can make it ~30 dmg/heal. The effect can hardly be factored in. Said that, my conclusion is: I love the look, but stick to Annihilation for fights.

Warp-Infused Drape skeets all over this junk. 30 damage, some hit rating, and sockets to boot, so you can slot in the crit you want AND get more damage that doesn't rely on a proc.
On a side note I can't believe Blizzard puts items like this in the game. It's a slap in the face, honestly. I don't want gimmick epic items off bosses I spent time and gold learning, that may or may not give me more damage than some blue I farmed in a few runs of a 5-man. I want actual upgrades.
Save the proc skullduggery for trinkets. Give us real pieces of raid gear with tangible stat upgrades over dungeon blue items.

Since we don't even use dkp for Kara, it was free for me.
As they are now, they are kind of crap compared to my Robes of Oblivion, but they do look cool :P Besides, Epics are being looked at in 2.10, maybe this one will get buffed a bit. It'll be fun to trinket while this procs for CoDs and other dots.

I'd like to take this robe, after advancing so far through Karazhan. But, not sure i would. Besides comparable blue mentioned, i would also compare these two.

some sapphiros bone for add more frost dmg held in the off hand and
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=27683
that trinket and in like every 5 minute this baby procs together almost all the time wish is really good. i land frost bolt most of them crit of 4k up to 5k because i have more spell dmg with arcane im over 1000 spell dmg now and i land about 3 out of 5 frost bolt crit on a window of 20 sec and eat the hunter in dmg and beat other class
so you see for my big question is that this robe is good if you mixed it with some nice stuff and now im on my hunt to get my 4 procs
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28418
wish it drop from last boss in the arcatraz GG ( ALSO TO HAVE IN NOTE THIS SET OF GEAR IS GOOD FOR RAID NO INTENDED TO USE ON PVP SINCE IM A RAID MAGE SO GG )

While these Robes are not the best out there, currently on the PTR the proc is stacking for crazy damage gains. I doubt that is intended, but you never know.

The new buffs (+34 dmg instead of 27, and 23 crit instead of 20) make this a little more worthwhile, but still very inferior to BoP Tailoring - which I guess is to be expected.

As a Scorch spammer, and assuming the proc is 5% lasting 10 seconds, in 100 Scorch spells (150 seconds), the buff would be activated by 5 scorch spells, which would equal 50 seconds of buff = 30% of the time.
30% of 130 spell dmg bonus is 39 spell dmg, plus +32 post-patch = 71 spell damage approx. Certainly not a PvP robe since depends on proc, but certainly sweet for raiders.
The only hateful thing about this robe is the Arcanist look. Damn, wearing arcanist until the end of times with all the pre-TBC set reutilization. No matter if your new item is a crappy mid-lvl blue or a Serpentshrine epic, it will no doubt look like Arcanist.

6193 total damage gained from this +dmg, versus 6325 on the blue, if you assume the same hit, pene and crit rates.
However,
This robe is currently the 2nd best chestpiece for any crit build classes under the arena robes, 'til the Hydross robe.

"gives a chance when your harmful spells land" with a fixed procrate (5% in this case) means spells with less casting time will benefit more from the robe.
An other thing to maybe mention is that there is a bluepost somewhere from Tigole if i am not mistaken (cant find the link) saying "we want arcane missiles to be the main dps spell in tBC for mages"
They may have not succeeded in that, but still i belive this robe was created around that idea, as the instance was already there before extended testing took place
now with AM hitting on average once per second a 5% procrate means an average of 1 proc / 20 seconds.
Counting in the time it will overlap and the resists (hitcap is still 99%) it should get us to ~40% of the time with the proc on, getting this robe equal to a flat 84speldmg, 24 crit for AM spam.
All that ofcourse is unless the robe also has an unlisted internal cooldown similar to the sextant of unstable currents.
P.S. sorry for not posting the calcs, i thought it would make the post too boring to read

Even if this isn't decent for raiding, why wouldn't it be decent PvP?
In PvE environments when you're talking about mobs that have a large amount of health, sustained damage is important, but in PvP you want burst damage. While the proc is active and stacked with a spell damage trinket, that's a lot of increased potential burst damage you're gaining, even if it is just for a few spells.
And just because it doesn't always proc doesn't mean it's useless - your crits don't always hit, but are they useless in PvP? >.<
IMO, this is a robe that you gamble with in situations that you're dealing with targets that don't have two million health, like players or even mobs you are farming. By equipping it, maybe, just maybe in an Arena match it'll proc on your first few hits and add a nice push to your future attacks.
Or maybe it won't proc. But regardless, this robe, is definitely NOT worthless because of what it potentially CAN do, rather than what it always WILL do.

For a fire mage that uses fireballs as main damage spell, this robe's proc is up for 10 seconds every minute (20x3=60) and thats 21.66 spell damage. Along with its static 32, and stats, this robe still isn't worse than blue gear out there.
As for spell crit, for a fire mage, 1% crit means 1.1% more dps + 0.3% less mana usage, along with the probability of any trinkets it may proc, so crit rating is far more worthy than hit rating. Note the fact that in WoW a crit automaticly counts as a hit, so it's also a small buff to your hit precentage as well.

Mages should not ignore that this has spirit, which is important for regen while evocating.
Also, spirit is a factor for spell damage if any priest in your raid has improved divine spirit.
Stamina on the robe is important, too. Even in PvE, having health is important. Dead mages deal no damage.

I got this last nights raid and equipped it straight away, then proceeded to blast through the whole rest of Karazhan... all the time watching for a proc of my nice new bonus. Didnt see it!
Can anyone tell me what the name of the buff that it procs is please, or what the buff icon looks like? Either its bugged since the new patch or (more likely) something in my UI is stopping the proc messages getting through

This appears to be the offensive caster's version of the Masquerade Gown, only far less useful (which is saying something, because the Masquerade Gown sucks).
If you've gotten far enough into Kara to see this, chances are you'll get a much better item in no time.

This robe procs 5% when one of your harmful spells LANDS, and this applies to AOEs and DOTs.
So, if you AOE, multiply the proc chance by the number of targets you're hitting. (It'll almost always be on :D )
I have this robe, and I have to say it is one of the most powerful cloth chests for any Priest or clothie, and even others like moonkins and elemental shaman.
If I use a damage trinket like Icon of the Silver Crescent and put my normal DPS gear on, then spam Holy Nova, Power of Arcanagos will almost always proc, which brings me (temporarily) to approximately 1300 Holy damage, meaning that Smite spam will do more DPS than non-crit Frostbolt spam from a normal mage. Not that you'd DPS with Smite in an instance, that's ridiculous, but it's easy to farm with.
No matter what anyone says, this robe is nice. It's like a damage trinket Use: effect that comes on when you want it... usually.
Besides, it has Spirit. How many DPS robes do you know with Spirit?

This Robe and it's proc makes me a Sad Panda. :( :( :(
While it looks very interesting, especially with fast spells at 5% proc rate, the reality pretty much sucks.
The Robe has an internal cooldown of approximately 45 seconds -- during which time any additional procs will be lost. This means the "Power of Arcanagos" buff will never refresh itself. That also makes the true proc rate more like 3% instead of 5%.
I did a bunch of testing with Dr. Boom (hours) on using Ice Lance. Here are the results of the last session(about 30 minutes):
Ice Lance spell casts: 1268
"Power of Arcanagos" procs: 38
Observed Proc Rate: 2.99%
Minimum time betwen Procs: 50 seconds (prob really 45)
By way of comparison, the Mystical Skyfire Diamond (5% proc rate on cast -- no internal cooldown) proc'ed 68 times during this same testing session. (68 / 1268 = 5.3%).
Because of this internal cooldown of 45 seconds, the proc is NEVER worth more than (10/45)*130 +dmg, which equals about +28.9. A far cry from +130 dmg -- but wait, it's not even that good.
Practially speaking it's worse than that because the proc will really take an average of 45 seconds + casttime*(1.0 / 5%) seconds per proc. For a 3 second spell, this is 105 seconds -- thus (10/105)*130 = 12.4 +dmg. For a 1.5 second spell, it's an average of 75 seconds - thus (10/75)*130 = 17.3 +dmg.
Even if Arcane Missiles could potentially proc this with every missile(as promised for Patch 2.2), the result would still be lackluster. Consider, 1.0 seconds per missile procs every 65 seconds on average -- thus (10/65)*130 = 20 +dmg.
In other words, unless Blizzard fixes this robe by removing the internal cooldown, it's pure crap. As a previous commentor noted, there are BLUE robes that easily beat this one overall and certainly any tailored robe blows it away.
So, even though you killed the "last" boss of Karazhan and got his 14% chance to drop Epic "Robe of Elder Scribes", it's likely going to end up sharded right away OR stuck in your bank if you have anything else at all decent.
IMO, Blizzard should remove the Internal Cooldown on this robe to make it worth a damn. Otherwise, dont waste your DKP, rolls, or bank space on this broken KZ epic robe.

I have a fire mage for PvE and i have this robe and the bonus +130 dmg is very good for long battles such us Gruul for example, and i have the spelltrike bonus which is +92 dmg and these 2 trinkets :
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=29179
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28418
and all of them gives +597 dmg which is a huge dmg boost ,and i have seen them all together a lot of times...! :-)

As an arcane Mage:
I had this robe sitting in my bank for a while and was using the Spellfire set. The numbers on my character sheet looked great with the additional spell damage. The problem I've always had was I needed to see numbers in front of me. So... I did a little math:
Arcane Blast > Arcane Blast > Arcane Missles > Scorch = 11 seconds with a total of 8 damaging spells landing with no spell haste bonuses.
With a proc of 5% this means that it procs almost every 20 seconds giving you an additional 130 spell damage for another 10 seconds... every 10 seconds after damage is dealt. Procs even more when Blood Lust is hit...
In other words... It's an INSANE replacement for spellfire and adds some serious damage during long fights. I also strongly suggest building the Blessings deck and getting yourself the Crusade card.
This, the Crusade card and Lightning cap are three very irreplaceable tools as an Arcane Mage and the best suggestions I could give to anyone looking for free damage increases.
In a word... Don't just rely on the numbers in front of you. Much of anyone's damage is based on chance in this game and there's only so much you can do to gurantee damage.

When I saw this robe for the first time, my jaw dropped, but then I became skeptical after reading reviews on this chest.
I thought to myself:
How much better is this than what I have on?
and
How often will the Equip effect proc?
I wore it for awhile and dpsed like crazy, never seen it proc once. So I un-equipped it and put my old chestpiece back on. Which is "
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28391
" and I still use this for PvP atm.
Then I decided to try again with this chest piece because I was bored and wanted to see if the "Internal Cooldown" was actually 45 seconds.
This time around, it was proccing like crazy. The internal cooldown is not 45 seconds by any means, I believe Blizz did fix it.
Edit: From what I can tell, the Internal Cooldown is 20 seconds. I timed it, after the first Proc faded, I set the counter and was killing a mob for 20 seconds I then received a new Proc at 25-26 seconds. This is from my tests, because I do receive them more often than 45 second intervals.
I recommend this to any Spell DPS class out there. Even as an Ele Shaman, who cares, your ranged DPS, not up close combat. Use mail for PvP, atleast until you get Netherstrike or Tier.

Sadly, this thing is now essentially junk. The proc, while cool, is not worth it even still.
The robes you can get from a 5 man Heroic absolutely flatten this item. The only benefit this has over the Scarlet Sindorei Robes is that this one has some spirit, which equates to roughly 8mp5 while casting. So in a 1 minute duration, this will give you an additonal 12 x 8 = 96 mana, not even enough for another Arcane Blast.
End result, go run Heroic Magistar, get the Scarlet Robes.
I have mine socketed with 12 sp dmg, 6 sp dmg / 5 crit and a 5 sp dmg / 6 stam gem.
Resulting in a total benefit of:
Spell Damage: 78 socketed in the fashion I listed above, more stamina, more intellect, and more critical rating. Since the socket bonus is +5 damage, its very much worth socketing for it.

I like this chest piece. For dailies on the Isle I like to leave my resto pvp set on (which can make farming a bore but helps with being ganked). I swap out my chest piece for the
Elder Scribes
, then equip the
Idol of the Unseen Moon
and the
Ancient Draenei Relic
. This may not be a better method than a full balance set, but it does make life a bit easier.

I really like this robe for my shadowpriest. Its internal cooldown on the proc seems far shorter than 45-50 seconds as stated above. For me it procs every other mob when I'm soloing which is really good (about once every 20-25 seconds). I would probably only swap this out for a robe with better stats/crit/hit and consistent damage, but for a brand new 70 that soloes a lot this is a great chestpiece.
