These are used for transferring your allegiance from Aldor to Scryers. A repeatable reputation quest -
http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=10025
- will take you up to Neutral with the Scryers at 250 rep per 8 Eyes, destroying your Aldor rep in the process.

Do not count on the AH to provide enough eyes for you to switch factions - few people save these, fewer farm them to sell and make money. You're probably going to have to grind out the drops yourself.
评论来自
10215
You're going to need 1344 of these to get Neutral with Scryers.
36000 (Hated) + 3000 (Hostile) + 3000 (Unfriendly) / 250 rep (per turn in) = 168 turn ins of 8 eyes each time. Prepare for some serious grinding and ask friends/guildmates for help.
Before the switch, I recommend saving up these eyes and higher level scryer turn in items (Firewing and Sunfury Signets, Arcane Tomes) so you can still use the benefits of Aldor shoulder enchants in case you replace gear.

Those 1344 at the 34% drop rate are 3953 monsters to loot.
(My personal rate is 25 eyes per hour, that makes it 54 hours. Hum... I should have started as a Scryer.)

I farmed these to switch Aldor to Scryer, and my farm rate was about 40 per hour. There's a nice little circuit you can do where the basilisks are all respawned at every lap. Start at 38.6, 16.4 in Terrokar (on the south shore of the lake), then make your way north north-west along the western shore of the lake. When you get to the top, head west to the road, and work your way down.

yes it does adds 10% to the gain as well as loss of rep currently trying to farm these on malygos as a mage wish blizzard had made it a "go kill X amount of Y" quest but i guess it works out since not many people are willing to do the grind to go from one to the other at higher levels of rep

Do you get to keep Aldor Exalted patterns (such as Golden Spellthread) after converting to Scryers? In other words, could I eventually have a tailor who can make both Golden and Runic Spellthreads by swinging factions?
Update: Can confirm that patterns learned as an Aldor remain when switching to Scryers. Shoulder enchants of the former faction can no longer be purchased nor applied.

I would say around 20/30 hours total.
I usually do it when I'm grouped in raid going to Naxx and such. As you can't do dailys etc In 20 minutes or so you can get around 2 or 3 dozens.
Don't forget to buy the tabard and recipes before switching, if you like to collect them.

I've been farming these myself now and I've managed to get up to 100-110/hour (yes, I timed it :| ).
Now, I'm doing this as a feral druid in 4 parts pvp set, that means 149.5% run speed, feral charge every 15 seconds and an instant cast flight form. Fast run speed > min-maxing dps, they die in a second anyway.
Basically, you follow the spawn points of
Dampscale Devourer
.
Start at the latitude of Stonebreaker Hold (53.42), follow the river south to Allerian Stronghold. Stick to the river until you reach the T intersection (63.45). Go east until you reach Firewing Point, then fly back to the intersection and start moving north. Reach the next T intersection east of Tuurem and follow the river east. Done! Fly back to the starting point and do it all over again, everything is respawned.
I tried the path around the northern lake and the respawns were so slow I wouldn't for my life farm there.
At least for me it only took ~14 hours of farming! (It isn't as bad as 40-50 hours of farming as some of the
2.0
comments here say it is)

You can farm these on an alt with 62-66 level, that has a lot of rested bonus and heirloom shoulders. Along with eyes, you will gain experience points pretty quickly. Of course you won't level up as fast as while questing, but it's still a win-win. AoE classes and affliction warlocks work the best here imo.
If your alt have skinning, you can make a little profit too. Oh, and you can use the meat to make a nice buff food for your alt (if (s)he's a caster) or friends.

I used
THIS
route when I was farming them. Got around 30 and up per "run" which gave 3-4 turn-ins. Started at 32.5,13.9 if you look at the map.
Note: Don't bother killing the Ironspine Chomper's since they don't drop the item, I made that mistake.

Wow. This grind took much longer than I had expected. After a bit less than two hours(I think - had to test some different routes and such first) I only had 144 eyes. After I had those 144 eyes I decided that I would only farm "a few" eyes at a time; 100 or 200 eyes, and then do something else - so this took maybe two weeks for me.
I used my level 78 hunter BM specced with mining and skinning, so both of those adds some extra time. I used Aspect of the Cheetah when the mobs were close to each other and I only had 150% speed mount.
This is the route I used.
I simply followed the river. Instead of taking both sides of the river at the same time, I only took the mobs on one side, and then the other side on the way back. On some places the mobs are so many it's better to just gather them and aoe them down. Some places along the river there are like only one or no mobs, and these places I just skipped - you should be able to see them on the map.(##RESPBREAK##)2056##DELIM##adashiel##DELIM##

Well I'm sure I'm not the only one to comment on this but at least on this thread I didn't notice any other who did....
I wish to be exalted with Scryer (after being exalted with Aldor) because there is a Feat of Strength to do so. I can't remember the name darn it but I know it's there... and since we are now in Cataclysm I could care less about losing my Aldor status.
Also if this peaks any interest, this is similar to having to get both exalted with the Oracles and Frenziedheart. Anyone going for that achievement will want to work on Frenziedheart FIRST so they can end up with Oracles and farm the eggs from the vendor to try to get the green protodrake mount.

At 250 rep per turn in and 42000 rep to reach Neutral...
...the 5% boost from
Mr. Popularity (Rank 1)
makes these worth 262 or 263 rep per turn in. Assuming the decimals balance out over time, you'll need 160 turn ins or
1280 eyes
.
...the 10% boost from
Mr. Popularity (Rank 2)
OR the Human racial trait makes these worth 275 rep per turn in. That'll take 153 turn ins or
1224 eyes
.
...the 15% boost for Humans with
Mr. Popularity (Rank 1)
makes these worth 287 or 288 rep per turn in, so 147 turn ins or
1176 eyes
.
...and finally, the 20% boost for Humans with
Mr. Popularity (Rank 2)
makes these worth 300 rep per turn in, so 140 turn ins or
1120 eyes
.

I have been casually farming these eyes in an attempt to switch from the Aldor to the Scryers. I decided I'd just farm the rest of the Eyes I needed.
Within one hour of farming I managed to get:
- about 44g worth of vendor trash
- about 131 eyes
- about 5 greens
-- 2g repair bill. =)
As a mage, I had close to zero downtime. I managed to get what I got with the help of:
- 2/2 Improved Blink (+70% run speed every 15 seconds)
- 310% Flying speed
- TRACKER SNACKS
The snacks are vital. Don't waste your time flying around hoping to find the basilisks. Being a mage, I usually pulled 2-5 at a time. Also, if you are a skinner... DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME SKINNING.
I'm not sure how to add a screenshot to my comment, so I'll add one as a separate comment. The screenshot will outline my farming path.
Happy Hunting =)

I farmed the eyes around Silmyr Lake in northern Terokkar. After getting into my groove farming the basilisks, I started running some napkin math, and calculated that I was averaging about 115 eyes per hour of uninterrupted grinding.
I was farming with an 85 druid, with all available speed increases (enchants, talents, PvP set bonuses, 310% flight speed increase upped to 351% with the guild perk, etc.), popping Swift Flight Form frequently, making use of Feral Charge, Dash, and Stampeding Roar on CD, and ranged pulling the basilisks else-when. With all that going for me, it seems fair to say that 115-120 eyes per hour is about the best-case farming rate any player could hope for, barring some statistical oddity.

After getting myself 1334 eyes to switch from Aldor to Scryers, I realised as I was handing them in that I had forgotten all about my guild perks.
Non humans with no guild perks should still need
1334
eyes.
Non humans with the level 4 guild perk need
1289
eyes.
Non humans with the level 12 guild perk need
1224
eyes.
Might save you at least some time farming, and imo, in this case, every damn minute counts. And oh, if my math turns out to be wrong, try telling it to me nicely. Thanks.

As I have a nasty tendency to try to get as much as I can out of any grinding I do, I ended up using my moderately geared (ilvl 333) Worgen Rogue to grind these.
In one hour, with level 25 guild perks, looting and skinning each mob and timed by the duration of my poisons and only having to use Mutilate to one shot the basilisks, I collected the following:
Grey items sold to a vendor for 29g 38s 67c
139 Chunks o' Basilisk auctioned for 23g 82s 46c
182 Knothide Leather Scraps auctioned for 132g 70s 25c
55 Knothide Leather auctioned for 301g 70s 25c
75 Fel Scales auctioned for 369g 76s 50c
38 Crystal Infused Leather auctioned for 11g 66s 22c
9 Greens vendored for 37g 40s 95c
...and of course, 96 Dampscale Basilisk Eyes that go for 5-10 gold whenever they show up on the AH but which I still need 400+ of for my faction change.
Not counting the eyes the gold made in one hour of grinding this comes to 906g 45s 30c. Add in the eyes and you are looking at 1400 to 1900 gold for one hour of work.
I'm not posting this to brag but to convince others that this grind is worth some decent gold at little risk...so I don't have to grind it myself any more.

At this pace I'll be done in 12 game hrs, still a grind. My hat goes off to the non-Human grinders during the Burning Crusade days.

I'm farming these on an Affliction lock on behalf of my main. I start at the river fork east of Tuurem, follow the river east, double back and head south, do the next fork east, double back and head southwest and then up past the Alliance and Horde bases. By the time I get to Stonebreaker, the mobs at my starting point have long since respawned and I can hop over there to start another go-round.
I tag mobs with BoA and Corruption as I run, start Hellfiring when I feel the first mob is about to leash/reset, and Drain Life when there's one or two left. This usually nets me 3-6 mobs at a time. I'm using Demon Armor, and I have my Imp out for this as he doesn't usually steal aggro (Felpup's Bite often does, and while he can kill them there's one mob I have to backtrack to loot).
I wasn't sure if this would turn out any better than farming eyes on an 85 and levelling a character at normal speed and after doing it I'm still not sure. All the rest exp in the world doesn't make it anywhere near as fast as questing, much less dungeon or battleground queues. However I'm getting 80-90 eyes an hour at 67, which is not that far off of what 85s are reporting here, and I feel more productive getting experience for an alt at the same time (however little), so I'm going to stick with it.
If you decide to take this approach, I'd recommend starting at a lower level than the mobs. Yeah, it was slower and more dangerous mobbing them up at 62, but I'm only halfway to 1224 eyes and I don't know how much longer the 63s will remain green!

I tried to farm these as well, as a demonology Warlock. It took me two fel flames to kill the mobs. I managed to get around 130-140 eyes per hour (more than other people here have found). With this circuit you will pretty much be killing crocolisks non stop (mostly
湿鳞吞噬者
) and by the time you have completed it the mobs at the start have already respawned.
This is the circuit I took.

I'm currently in the process of swapping between Aldor ( I made sure to grab the Tabard) to Scryers. We were a lvl 25 guild that transfered realms and we lost all of our perks. So for me, I'm doing it the old fashion way, I need all 1334 of these.
This is a mindless grind no matter how you look at it. Overall, RNG has been kind to me, I've collected 650 so far and while the drop rates seem to be accurate, the respawn rate seems quick enough I'm not stopping and waiting. Hunters, use Cheetah and a Cat and they'll die before you reach them. As a skinner I could earn some cash, but for me time is more important when running in circles.
To break it up some, I head up to The Botanica and run that a few times at non heroic. As a lvl85 SV hunter, I can pretty much mass pull the D and clean house. Do this and you'll get enough Tomes and Signets to reach exaulted with the Scryers once you've collected all the eyes and turn them in.

There are a lot of posts here spanning back many years, and littered within them are both important accurate facts as well as wrong and/or outdated information. To spare future grinders the annoyance I had of figuring out what was true and what was not, here is the definitive guide to farming Dampscale Basilisk Eyes for Scyer reputation. This is accurate as of 08/08/2012.
WHY: The only real reason anyone would actively farm DBE is because they are making the switch from Aldor to Scryer; probably for the feat of strength achievement. You may also simply want the rep they bring, but it is not the most practical or speedy grind just for basic reputation. You may potentially want to grind to try and turn a buck, but know this is not very effective as it relies on someone on your server doing this grind AND wanting to pay for the help. THERE IS LITERALLY NO OTHER REASON TO GRIND THIS ITEM!
WHERE: Terokkar Forest. End of story. As is accurately reflected in this page, there is NO OTHER ZONE to farm DBE.
WHAT: Basilisks. And again, ONLY the ones in Terokkar. That being said, all four types drop DBE. There are the three variations - Devourer, Basilisk and Petrifier - plus one world boss mob, "Stonegazer." During your grind you will probably start to mentally refer to these as "The Green Ones," "The Purple Ones" and "The Red Guy."
DROP RATE: For whatever reason, it is without question that the drop rate reflected here on WowHead is inaccurate. It states there is an equal chance for each type of Basilisk to drop a DBE. Having farmed 1400 of them for countless hours I can say unequivocally that "The Green Ones" have around a 34% drop rate; "The Purple Ones" have around a 10% drop rate; and "The Red Guy" has around a 90% drop rate.
DROP RATE EXPLAINED: Understand that you may kill 30 mobs in a row and only get five eyes. But then the next 30 you kill may drop 15 eyes. It's the overall balance that determines the drop rate, and in this example that would be 20 eyes from 60 mobs, or around 34%. Don't get frustrated!
BUT WHO SHALL I BE?: I have done this grind using a rogue, a DK and a hunter; all level 85. Obviously at that level there is no real danger posed. In terms of speed and effectiveness, the rogue was least useful as there is no real AoE so you have to run to every mob every time. The DK was able to AoE to a certain degree, and has the benefit of water walking. The hunter was by far the best choice. I put away my pet and was able to quickly one shot mobs from a distance and move from mob to mob in a matter of seconds with the proper speed boosting aspect. Coupled with countless elixirs of water walking, it was by far the easiest. REMEMBER: if you take damage those elixirs wear off, so kill em fast and far away!
THE ROUTE: Your general rule of thumb is: The Green Ones are by water, The Purple Ones are by rock. Thus your obvious route is to follow the circular rivers in the center of Terokkar. My best path was thus: From Turrem south to Stonebreaker Hold, East to Firewing Point. Then FLY North to approximately 64, 31 where you will encounter the area where Stonegazer spawns as well as a lot of The Purple Ones. Pick off as many of those as you can stand, then continue NorthWest to where the river starts and proceed West. Once you meet your starting point, if you feel that the mobs have not yet respawned, you can travel down the Vertical river that is in the center of the circle you just made.
THE STATS:
At 250 rep per turn in and 42000 rep to reach Neutral...
...the 5% boost from Mr. Popularity (Rank 1) makes these worth 262 or 263 rep per turn in. Assuming the decimals balance out over time, you'll need 160 turn ins or 1280 eyes.
...the 10% boost from Mr. Popularity (Rank 2) OR the Human racial trait makes these worth 275 rep per turn in. That'll take 153 turn ins or 1224 eyes.
...the 15% boost for Humans with Mr. Popularity (Rank 1) makes these worth 287 or 288 rep per turn in, so 147 turn ins or 1176 eyes.
...and finally, the 20% boost for Humans with Mr. Popularity (Rank 2) makes these worth 300 rep per turn in, so 140 turn ins or 1120 eyes.
THE CASH:
It behooves you to turn on auto-loot, but don't expect to turn much of a profit doing this. You will get a TON of basilisk meat which rarely sells on the AH; and a ton of grey vendor basilisk trash. Occasionally you'll get a green item, but not enough of them to say that this is a cash cow by any stretch of the imagination.
THE RICH MAN'S CHEAT:
If you happen to be flush with gold, may I suggest offering a payment of 100g per EIGHT eyes someone can farm for you. I found plenty of lower level players and even some 85's more than willing to work under this arrangement. I spent 10k gold, but I saved myself a hell of a lot of headache! Broadcast your offer in trade chat and remind people they can C.O.D. them to you any time! Point out that they are "super easy to farm" and "you could potentially make a thousand gold in a half an hour!"
THE BOTTOM LINE: You know you're playing World of Warcraft, right? ;) The grinds are rarely enjoyable, and this is no exception. Stick to it, get it done with, and then enjoy the fruits of your success...until you move on to the next grind. (Heavy Junkboxes, anybody?)

There were great posts before, so there's no much to add; just a bit of tips left. The drop rate described in certain higher rated posts are accurate, in one condition: if you're the
only person
farming. The drop rate isn't purely random number that stretches more or less the same in long run.
I'm not gonna disclose Blizzard's trade secret, but some food of thoughts for everybody: say if certain person Joe employs 2-3 players to farm together and speed things up (which should be easy for rich people; and respawn rate for green ones allows 2-3 players killing nonstop), Joe shall get all the eyes needed in much shorter time, right? Nope. Blizzard has thought about this case and did
something
to prevent it. Question: what can be done?
It hurted me with notable and predictable pattern since several nights ago when I was farming for the eyes for
沙塔斯的英雄
. Halloween is a reputation farming season because of

I doubt the 5g buyout is correct as of MoP, though it is of course server dependent: a lot has seen a steep inflation just because gold is easier to come by on 90 than on 85, has been the case for all expansions. On Frostmane EU Alliance, I just spend 8100g on a total of 270 eyes á 30g each. If you can find some cheap Eyes when screening the Auction House consider yourself lucky, most players know how this grind goes by now.
I find this spending worth my money as I can now likely finish this grind with the Hallow's End buff up, saving a total of ~100 eyes in the process. At the above price, that's 3000g. Not complaining, though it did hurt my wallet.

For those who are still trying to switch faction from Aldor to Scryer and need to farm this, I've made a
map
where you can go around in a 'circle' and you don't have to wait for respawns.
If you follow this route, there are 112 basilisks to kill in total(113 if you happen to bump into
Stonegrazer
), on average i get about 30-40 eyes per round, takes about 10-15mins.
One thing to look out is there is 1 type of basilisk that you will see during this run that will
NOT
drop any eyes, they are
Ironspine Chomper
, these are purple colored and they are much bigger than the similar
Ironspine Petrifier
that you should kill.
I did this on my druid alt since instant flight form is way more efficient to fly around.

Perhaps some example is necessary for my previous comment in this page.
To check if my theory is correct, do experiment yourself, get a friend or guildie to farm the eyes with you. If you got one partner, expect the drop rate decreased to 1/6 for each player. For 2 partners, 1/9.

This will not target "Ironspines" which don't drop eyes. It'll also show your total number of eyes on your action bar.
If you find yourself farming shortly before Halloween, you might procrastinate a bit. Not only will the Wickerman buff help, but the insta-mount brooms would be invaluable for this grind. Drop rate is decent; mobs are spaced just far enough apart that mounting in between is the fastest way to go. Rarely will you kill 2-4 close enough to mass loot (though taunts will help w/ this). Brooms will be amazing.

After eight years playing, I've finally decided to switch from the Aldor to The Scryers. I tried farming these on my hunter, but it's tedious. So, I sent in my druid. I kept to the rivers, meaning, Allerian Stronghold to the south, Tuurem to the north, and Firewing Point to the east.
The method? Dive bomber!
In flight form (which, unlike summoning a mount, is instantaneous) fly to and above a suitable basilisk, switch to cat (or bear) form, drop and auto-attack. Or use Swipe or Thrash, especially if two candidates are nearby. Loot (and skin, if you can - my druid is Worgen, so it's as fast as an attack anyway), pop flight form and zoom to the next donor.
On my
first try
, while working the mechanics of it out, I got:
85
湿鳞蜥蜴的眼睛
s
47
魔鳞
77
结缔皮
18
水晶能量皮革
and
135
蜥蜴肉块
plus various vendor trash and a few greens in
one hour
of farming. I did take some time to help somebody find Ironjaw, too. :)
So about 10 turn-ins for 2500 rep points (regular, non-human) or 2750 points during Darkmoon Faire. It is still a monumental undertaking, and boring as hell, but if done in single sessions with breaks for more interesting pursuits, it won't seem so bad.

Hopefully someone finds this helpful. I just completed this 2/4/18 and figured I would track my turn ins. I was fully Exalted with the Aldor, had the Guild Perk, and the Darkmoon Faire buff.
Total Rep Needed to go from Exalted with Aldor (and fully Hated with Scryers) to Neutral with Scryers:
36,000 rep to go from Hated to Hostile
3,000 rep to go from Hostile to Unfriendly
3,000 rep to go from Unfriendly to Neutral
Total Rep Needed to reach Neutral with Scryers:
42,000
Dampscale Basilisk Eye Turn ins:
With the Darkmoon Faire rep buff (and Guild Perk presumably) I was getting 275 Rep with the Scryers, and losing 302 rep with the Aldor with each turn in. Once I reached Neutral, I wound up at halfway through Hostile with the Aldor. It took me 153 total turn ins, at 8 Eyes a piece, for a total of
1224 Dampscale Basilisk Eyes
. Note, you cannot turn in more Eyes once you hit Neutral.

At Neutral I began turning in Firewing Signets. I needed 9,000 rep to reach Honored from Neutral. I was receiving 275 Scryers Rep per turn in, and losing 302 Aldor Rep. It took 32 turn in's (at 10 Firewing Signets each), for a total of
320 Firewing Signets
. I was able to turn these in until Honored.
Note:
You can turn in Sunfury Signets beginning at Neutral as well (see below).
Sunfury Signet Turn ins:
I decided to turn in Sunfury Signets all the way to Exalted, but you can use Arcane Tomes at any point. At Honored I began turning in Sunfury Signets. I needed 33,000 rep to reach Exalted from Honored. I was receiving 275 Scryers Rep per turn in, and losing 302 Aldor Rep. It took 120 turn in's (at 10 Sunfury Signets each), for a total of
1200 Sunfury Signets to reach Exalted
.
With the Darkmoon Faire Buff/Guild Perk:
Dampscale Basilisk Eyes (Can be turned in from Hated with Scryers to Neutral) give 275 Rep for each turn in of 8 Dampscale Basilisk Eyes each. Hated to Neutral took
1224 Dampscale Basilisk Eyes.
Firewing Signet (Can be turned in from Neutral until Honored) give 275 Rep for each turn in of 10 Signets each.
Neutral to Honored took 320 Firewing Signets.
Sunfury Signet (Can be turned in from Neutral until Exalted) give 275 rep for each turn in of 10 Signets each.
Honored to Exalted took 1200 Sunfury Signets.
Arcane Tomes (At any point) will give you 385 Rep each.

All the recent information has been about how much you need to get back to neutral etc, so I figured I'd chuck up the best way I found to farm them. I farmed them today on a route (will link it below). I was averaging 215 eyes per hour. This was on a DK and I was doing stuff on my second monitor so it was nowhere near optimal. If you ran a druid and focused, it's quite likely you can get around 300 an hour.
Heres
the route I used. I started at the north tip, however it doesn't really matter where you start or what direction you go.

For anyone yet to do this, by looking at the in game calendar on the ptr it looks like this years wow's anniversary will be active during Burning Crusade timewalking event and the Darkmoon Faire will be up. So if you've been putting off doing this farm, now ahead of that time will be a good time to plan (scour the ah or farm) as you will be able to have the bonus of the tw
+10%
from dmf and
+17%
from wow anniversary and
+50
from tw.
During Burning Crusade Timewalking week through the bonus
Sign of the Twisting Nether
, you gain
50%
rep. With just this bonus each turn in of 8 nets non-humans 375 rep / humans 400 rep with the Scryers. Non-humans need 112 turn ins / 896
Dampscale Basilisk Eye
. Humans need 105 turn ins / 840
