Intro
Hello and welcome
to my guide on all the different ways to make gold in World of Warcraft! I created this guide because I have been focusing on the best ways to make the most amount of gold in-game lately and I've been wanting to share it with everyone for a while now. I've used all the methods in here. I will try to cover as many gold making topics as I know and use as well as trying to cover each subject as intricately as possible and explaining what needs to be done.
Almost all of these methods can only be completed if you're level 110, have decent gear, and know your spec. I will also list the addons, websites, and any acronyms that come up. This entire guide is written using my main. A level 116 Mage geared 920 (now roughly 224) on Area 52, an extremely high population server. So with that, let's get started making some gold!
~Please remember to rate this guide and comment any suggestions!~
-Disclaimer-
Please note that as far as pricing and specific sale prices are concerned. Almost all of that depends ENTIRELY on the server as well as the population of Horde and/or Alliance. I used to be on a low population server, Scilla. And that is what I information I initially wrote this guide upon. Now however, I'm on a high population server which mostly consists of Horde and adjusting accordingly. Prices on my server are going to be higher in some cases because less supply, more demand, etc. Or less demand more supply which equals lower prices. It all depends. And most prices fluctuate like that. So with that disclaimer in mind, let's move on!
New Content~
So there is a ton of new content in BFA and it really is quite exciting! I have redone the entire guide for Battle for Azeroth. There are a few things I'd like to note that are happening right now.
~Make use of Trade chat. People are regularly requesting C.O.D's for herbs, ore, and other items.
~Don't forget about the scrapper! I'll have a dedicated section for that.
~Prices are very high now, but that will change and the market will fluctuate.
~Even though everything new is selling for high amounts, don't forget about old content either!
~As of right now you cannot trade Azerite gear, but that is rumored to be changing soon. Still, you can sell all BoE gear you receive.
~Don't forget about the new mission table (whether it be in Zuldazar or Kul Tiras) for Azerite. I wouldn't go for the gold though, it's pretty low and instead you can send followers on missions for the Azerite.
Requirements:
A maxed character decently geared (250-350 ish).
A basic knowledge of the cities, classes, auctioneers/vendors, etc.
A reasonably developed Garrison. (Level 2 mines, herb, etc)
A class that can get around easily. (I use a mage with portals)
- for the basics.
A banker a.k.a a level ten in a capital city. (I personally use my main, but I would recommend a lower level)
A good skill in math (Joking ;), but you need to know basic percentages, problems, etc ;D)
Two hours or so on the weekdays and three or four on the weekends.

Servers
In my time, I have been on a PVP server, a Normal server, a low pop server, and a high pop server. At the time I joined New Player servers were not a thing. Every server has a different economy, different players, and different everything pretty much. It's important to know the difference because the techniques in this guide are different depending on the server type. War Mode is now engaged which changes things. There are now only Normal and RP servers. However, if you have War Mode on, things will be similar to a PVP server. Currently, due to the recent release of BFA most servers either read Medium, high, or full population. That will lower as time goes by, but currently there are a lot more people playing the game.
High Population
High population servers are Moonguard, Blackrock, Area 52, Illidan, Proudmoore, Stormrage, Zu'jin, and Tichondrius. I'm on Area 52, which is mainly Horde populated. On a higher population server, gear has a 90% chance it's not going to sell. That's just a fact. Even x-mog. Only the rarest x-mog will even have a chance of selling. This is just because of the sheer number of people. Imagine, a 1.86% drop chance. With 5 alts that doesn't seem that likely, right? What about a few thousand? That's a low pop server. What about a few ten-thousand? That's a high pop server. The odds are significantly higher and therefore a "Rare" item won't necessarily be as rare. Materials, herbs, veggies, and bags, sell extremely well. Mainly because of the higher amount of people that need them.
Low Population
Low population servers take up most of the servers. They are both easier and harder to sell stuff on. Things like specialty mounts, pets, etc won't sell as well. Or they won't sell as fast/for a higher price. On the other hand, gear does sell extremely well. Transmog and other gear. Materials do sell as well. Just note, stuff doesn't sell as fast. Things do sell, but you have to have patience. It's an interesting contrast with high pop servers where things sell so quickly you don't know what to do.
PVP
Of course with the release of BFA PVP servers are now all but obsolete. However, the experience during farming or traveling can be very similar. You do receive and XP bonus if War Mode is on of course, but if you're maxed that hardly matters. You will have skirmishes with the Alliance as you used to on a PVP server and more. For farming I recommend turning War Mode off, as you can always turn it back on later and it will make your life a whole lot easier.
Normal
Normal servers are by far the easiest to exist on. No ganking, planking, or clanking. A.k.a no death, laughing at death, or screaming at death. Once again, be sure to turn War Mode off, unless you enjoy the challenge. If so, then by all means, but it will increase the play time substantially. On Normal servers it's pretty easy to get stuff on. Prices for normal servers always depend on the population.
Others
I have never been on a Medium or Roleplaying server so I really can't judge those. New Player servers did not exist when I joined but they're rather like low pop servers.
Addons
Addons are one of the most important things about using the AH and life in WoW in general. They provide an easier time of posting your auctions and finding amazing deals. They're pretty easy to install.
Keldesh
wrote
AddOns: How to Install and Maintain
if you need help installing them.
Auctioneer
is the best Addon I have. It does scans of the AH pages which can take about 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours on a high pop server and 15 to 45 minutes on a low pop server. Then you can search through the data that it collected and purchase the cheapest things. It really is a handy Addon to have even though it's older, in fact, it was just recently updated! Note that on low pop servers this Addon works amazing but on high pop servers I recommend the following Addon.
TradeSkillMaster
is another amazing Addon. I would go for all the modules since they all seem to be pretty helpful. Just note that some are out of date such as WoWuction which will cause several bugs. One of the best mods that catches my attention is this one:
Accounting.
It keeps track of all of your gold made within the time you first got the Addon and the current time. The other part of this that is awesome especially being on a high pop server is the auctioning mod. It makes posting a BREEZE. There are videos on YouTube to help you set this stuff up. I'll show a screenshot below at the end of this guide.
MogIt
seems odd in this section doesn't it? Well in this case it will be very helpful. MogIt shows what an item looks like when you mouse over it in your inventory which means you can identify what looks good. What that means is that if your item looks good then you'll get profit from it because it looks nice and people will be willing to pay more then usual.
Ark-Inventory
is a must have in my opinion. It is extremely helpful. It provides a different interface where your bags are all joined, it's much easier to use, you can sort things, and you can search for things. Though some people prefer Bagnon. I personally enjoy Ark-Inventory's customization options and the design is aesthetically pleasing.
GarrisonCommander
is the best for making garrison routines as fast as possible. This will be used for your Order Hall as well, and trust me that you can use anything that speeds up your routine every night.
TheUndermineJournal
works well with it's website and is a must have for easy pricing. You can mouse over any item and it will tell you the going rate which is good for an approximate estimation of value.
Websites
TheUndermineJournal
is the most amazing site for this. You first choose your server then you see the top sellers for your server that you chose and the servers connected to it. You can also view the auctions of anyone with auctions. It also shows the average prices of an item over time. You can search for an item using either its name or its ID number which can be found on Wowhead. It updates the information every hour or so. It's a great site if you need to look at something and all you have is your mobile device you can still see everything.
WoWuction
is another cool site. It's very similar to UndermineJournal but Wowuction had a special option to work with TradeSkillMaster but I don't use it. I definitely recommend just using UndermineJournal for beginners. WoWuction is used just as another reference point.
Auction House
The auction house is the main way to make gold. No it does not provide gold quickly but it does provides a steady stream of gold every day. The auction house is very helpful if you want to save up for something, want to hit the gold cap, or simply have something incredibly valuable in your bags and want to sell it for as much as possible. The original Auction House system was very annoying without addons to use at least in my opinion. With addons however, the AH interface becomes extremely simple making it easy to post, cancel and view your auctions. This section will be explaining the basics of how to use the AH and which addons I think are useful with the AH. Also it will cover some tips for getting started. Note that AH goes great parred with Farming and it's allot simpler getting started, so I will also be covering the subject of the AH in the Farming section.
Auction House Basics
Setting up your banker
If you're already familiar with this then feel free to skip this part.
Level 1 Banker
First, create a character. For alliance I'd stick with a Human. For Horde you can do any except for Goblin. As long as they don't have separate questing areas (such as Worgen, Draeni, Goblins) any choice should do.
Next, either run or have a mage portal you to a major city. For Horde I recommend Thunder Bluff, Orgrimmar, or Old Dalaran. For Alliance just stick with Stormwind or Old Dalaran.
Then transfer gold (500 minimum) to your banker toon.
Equip yourself with all four, 20-30 slot bags
Max level banker
Equip yourself with four, 20-30 slot bags.
Clear out your bags and bank as much as possible.
Organize your bags extremely well. Use addons for this, and make mental notes of your organization process.
Since it's a max level character, or even your main you should already have a fair amount of gold, but if you don't transfer it. By the way, I don't recommend using your main if you're a Hardcore Mythic + player or raider/pvper. Only if you're a casual player.
Optional-
You can purchase a guild using gold. This is used to store materials, and anything else for later use. On your banker, these is extremely helpful but not at all necessary. A 7 slot guild bank is typically around 10k to 20k in gold. I wouldn't purchase one for any more than 18k to be honest. An 8 slot is too pricey to justify the cost (usually around 40k), just get a 7 slot. Even a 6 slot is helpful. Use trade chat. Sometimes you'll get lucky and the seller will sell it to you with stuff still in the bank! Guild banks can also be used to store gold which can be good, because as they say, don't put all your eggs in one basket. You could accidentally purchase something outrageously expensive and be left with no gold. Split it up among many characters. Just be careful not to get ripped off! Go through all the necessary precautions, looking at the bank, checking out the facts, etc.
Auction House Interface
This is the basic interface WITHOUT addons. No fancy tabs, or buttons, or anything. The buttons are quite self-explanatory. Drag an item from your inventory into the box and set the price and duration (48 hr) , then hit the create button. Very easy.
Now you're probably thinking, wouldn't the previous method take a while? It DOES. It does. However, if you can't install addons it does do it's job, just not nearly as effectively as with the addons. It's simple, drag the item you with to sell into the box, set the price and time to 48 hours and post it. Imagine doing this with 1000 auctions which I have gotten up to at one point. Thank goodness for addons, right? Well I don't work with the standard interface. As do most of my fellow gold makers. This is what I work with on a day-to-day basis.
Auction House Must-knows
Flooding the auction house
DO NOT FLOOD THE AUCTION HOUSE. I cannot stress this enough. If you have let's say 5 Elekk plushies and there aren't any on the AH you do NOT want to post them all. This is known as flooding and usually doesn't do anything good. It just aggravates other people and you're probably not going to sell anything. Post 1, wait for it to sell, then post the others 1 at a time.
Don't post stacks of 1
Trust me, this just aggravates people beyond belief and it also increases scanning time for the AH when using addons which further frustrates people. It's okay to post 4 stacks of 20 or 50, etc if you have say 200 herbs just don't post 200 stacks of 1 herb each. It's annoying and just makes it easier to undercut you. The same goes for 5. 200/5 = 40 stacks on the AH. A bit too much. Of course, if you only have 20 herbs and you want to post 2 stacks of 10 each that's perfectly fine, but like I mentioned previously, don't flood the auction house.
Very Long, Long, & Short
There are three types of times for auctions.
Very Long, which is greater than 12 hours, typically 48 hours if just posted.
Long, which is between 2 hrs and 12 hours, typically 24 hours if just posted.
Short, which is 2 hours or less, you can't post auctions at this time.
Checking The AH
Before you post anything on the AH always, always make sure to check the prices. After a while you'll kind of memorize the prices on the AH but when you're starting out you should always search for the item you want to sell and check the price. If you have addons they'll definitely help you just need to do a scan daily which can around 45 minutes at least on my server.
Watch the market
Game economy's run somewhat like real life economy's in reality. And in real life economy's you have to watch the market. This step can really only be achieved through patience and time. Constantly check the going prices for the most common items you sell and farm, get a good grasp of what is a deal and rare and what is overpriced because someone flooded the market. Because there is a difference. And oftentimes someone will buy up everything, you heard me EVERYTHING of that one item and then re-post it. They'll often overprice it and therefore it is not a deal. Sometimes, what you want to sell is worth a ton but because someone came along and implemented one of the following techniques it seems like it's worthless. Just wait for the market to fluctuate then post it.
Auction House Techniques
Reselling
Reselling is where you find an item that's selling for extremely cheap then re-post it for more. For example if
飞天魔像
was on the AH for then you'd want to buy that and re-post it for the current price. If you do happen to find a deal like this, waste no time in thinking, just purchase it. Deals like this are extremely rare. I use auctioneer for scans and then I can search for good deals although there is one section I check manually. The mount section. Look at the mount section and see if there are any good deals for TCG mounts or anything else selling for cheap. Reselling is an amazing tactic in gold making especially if you don't have the time, can't, or don't like farming. Reselling is reasonably fast in can run in the background while doing homework, housework, or anything else. If you have the time, you can also run through the auction house pages manually, though I would not recommend it because of how much time it takes.
Selling TCG Items
Trading Card Game. These items were few to begin with. Now that it's been years since the cards have been discontinued they are super expensive on Ebay. The Spectral Tiger is over 1,000$ dollars (US). Double, triple, even quadruple check the prices before selling one of these. The Auction House takes 5% out of the selling price. Imagine 5% of . 0.05 x 7,000,000=350,000 Do you really want to make a fantastic 7 Mil sale only to lose 350k of it? Nope, I didn't think so. Use Trade Chat instead of the Auction House. If you reeaaallly hate peopling that much you can sell it on the Auction house, but it won't be as profitable.
Buying Out The AH
This is one of the tactics on the auction house but I would recommend becoming familiar with your servers common prices before attempting this. Buying out the AH is where you have an item on the auction house and there are multiples of the item you are trying to sell. You would buy all of the other ones on the AH leaving only your own. This is a very dangerous tactic and you need to know the common prices, how often the item is on the AH, and how many. Say if for example there was 50 of one item, in this case using this tactic would be a total waste of money and energy. If however, you have an item and there's only one of that item on the AH for a decent price you should buy that and then post your item. This is very dangerous and I highly recommend getting into the gold business for a while before you try this.
Selling Gear
Gear usually sells well depending on a few things, how well it looks and what expansion it was from. It is for selling gear that the add-on MogIt is so helpful for. If the gear looks nice people will pay more money for it. I find that greens sell particularly well. I would recommend selling only the current-expansion profession gear and profession gear that looks particularly nice. Gear from raids and cards do sell too at least when they first come out. Though raid gear does sell for a decent amount I'd equip on myself instead of selling it. It is easier to farm and quest when you have good gear. The prices do vary depending on the gear but if it was just like a green level 64 piece I'd probably post it for around depending on how it looked. Use your addons and do research on your economy before posting.
The End of the Auction Section
Those are the very basics. Playing the AH is very helpful and fun if you know how to do it and enjoy doing it. Auction houses can be found in almost every capital city and if you're having trouble finding one just ask a guard. All in all this is something which is very routine worthy and I'd recommend this method if you're in college, high-school, or working because it can be done in the background oftentimes and then you can focus time on cooking dinner, homework, etc. It's a very interesting way to make money and fun too.

WoW Tokens
When WoD introduced the WoW tokens it had become one of the main ways to make gold however not so much in Legion. WoW tokens can be purchased from the in-game store for $20 US. (Not sure how much it costs for EU). After receiving your WoW token you can go to the nearest AH and post it for the going price. I would suggest doing so when the prices are higher so as to get higher profit from selling them. You can typically get around - from selling a WoW token so it's around per $1. The price has risen considerably, supply and demand so I really wouldn't recommend this but if you want to purchase a token go to the main screen of the AH and click on "Game Time" which is the last tab at the lower left of the interface. Just one click and it'll show you the token. Click "Buyout" to purchase. They recently changed it so you can turn WoW tokens into 15$ on the Blizzard Balance. (Which in my mind is awesome)
Professions
Professions have always been the best way to make gold. However it is a slightly more difficult part of gold making to execute with Legion's changes to professions. We have yet to see how Battle For Azeroth will affect this specific area of gold making. For example, in Legion herbs were very hard to get and VERY expensive as well as flasks, potions, and pretty much everything. In this case you'll see if people make their own alts with these professions or buy these items for the outrages prices on the AH. We'll see how BFA affects the economy. In BFA professions are split by Horde and Alliance, it's the same thing but one is referred to as Kul Tiran -Insert profession- and Zandalari -Insert profession-.
As far as leveling your professions, I recommend getting to max as quickly as possible. So find something cheap you can make to get you through most of the levels, or at the very least, halfway. Because the most valuable items are made after hitting max on your profession. And now that the profession's are split up per expansion this should be much easier.
In BFA there are tiers for the recipes and the materials required to craft an item get reduced as you upgrade the recipe. For the following I will be using the most expensive out of the 3 tiers.
Generally, you will not see the raiders purchase flasks, potions, etc especially with the prices so high. Large guilds will generally farm their own mats, cook their own food, and make their own potions/flasks. Profession made gear has really never sold well but if you have the extra materials you can sell them anyway, just note it might be lower profit than you would get from making a toy or mount instead.
At this specific time, I would not recommend partaking in Legion material selling simply for the reason that I don't believe many people will be too interested in buying something that was pre-expansion and BFA was just released. If you want to post a few stacks that should be fine, for those that did not purchase BFA, but that's up to you. After BFA has been out for a few months, this paragraph with be mostly void.
Also note, that Ore, herbs, leather, etc are going to be quite expensive (as of right now) and that to make maximum profit use your own gatherer to get raw materials. And in some cases, selling the raw materials are worth almost or more than what they can make. As of right now, that will change as the expansion goes on.
Common Combinations
So when it comes to professions there a ton of common combinations used. Especially to make life easier and increase profit. For example, I have Tailoring and Inscription, Tailoring is one that can mostly stand on it's own, while Inscription requires Herbalism to be effective. Tailoring and Enchanting are pretty much standalone, but they do compliment each other.
Tailoring & Enchanting
Inscription & Herbalism
Alchemy & Herbalism
Leatherworking & Skinning
Blacksmithing & Mining
Engineering & Mining
Jewelcrafting & Mining
These are the most common combos. If you happen to have an army of alts you can do hybrids. For example, Engineering and Inscription on one character and then Herbalism and Mining on another.
Looking For Work-
This is a very common thing especially if you're one of the first people on the bandwagon of the expansion. You can link your profession into trade chat with 'LFW' before it. Like so-
LFW
裁缝
From there you can add on any number of things. For example-
LFW
裁缝
Just bring your own mats and it's free! Tips appreciated! Pst
or
LFW
裁缝
My mats, pst for each price!
And there's so many more combos. Just find what works for you.
What to Sell~
Inscription
Inscription there is loads of profit even though some people may not think so. Battle for Azeroth really revamped the professions. Some professions did get the short end of that stick. Inscription got the middle part of that stick.

Tailoring
In tailoring there is always loads of profit being made coming from here. Especially as the most common classes use cloth. Tailors benefit from crafting transmog and bags. As well as pets in some cases. Like which is needed for an achievement. Since First Aid was split into Tailoring and Alchemy it also has an added benefit. Gear is currently selling reasonably well, though I do not know how long that will last.
At the moment, Tailors don't have too much for new content where you actually gain profit. Gear obviously, but other than that it isn't too much. They have battle flags, but until the price of materials goes down it's not worth it. Old content will still sell of course, but it won't be as frequent.

Engineering
Engineering is always known for having gadgets (while admittedly are pretty useless) are pretty cool but some can only be used by engineers which makes this a slight downside. In BFA they introduced a plethora of recipes which make items which can be used by many classes. However, the ore that is required to make such items is quite expensive at the moment and you don't gain anything. If lucky you'll break even. A lot of the old content is good, and you can make a ton of gear that was introduced in BFA.

Jewelcrafting
Jewelcrafting is a profession for making necklaces and rings. As well as gems. BFA introduced a whole new set of everything going up to ilvl 300 when fully upgraded. Except for necklaces of course, with Heart of Azeroth being used. While the rings, staves (newly introduced) and gems (cut, with stats) are going to sell, even if slowly the fastest and most profitable way of making money is going to be selling uncut gems or the cut gems. For socketed gear. Otherwise, just watch the market and see what gear sells. Because the ilvl only going to 300 is on par with dungeon gear.
A big one with Jewelcrafting is crafting the 4 panthers from MoP which can create the
宝石玛瑙猎豹
. Right now it's worth it but the auction house is also slightly broken at the moment as well. The prices will go back down. Depending on the going rate you have to use your judgment to determine whether the profit is worth the crafting cost, which is quite high especially since this is 3 expansions ago content.

祥和之灵
As with the Jade Owl, there are two prices. Watch which one your posting for. I'm using data from under the battle pet section, instead of the miscellaneous.
Enchanting
Enchanting is needed for raiders and pvpers for their enchants and as some of them look amazing and the mats sell for quite a bit. Enchanting is generally known as probably the hardest profession of all time to level, but you get some pretty cool stuff once you're maxed. The fact that you can disenchant stuff is slightly less amazing now that the Scrapper exists but it still yields
幽影之尘
which sells raw for .'
The enchants that they receive that increase crafting speed, survey speed, etc are very useful unfortunately at the moment selling the enchants would be a waste of materials considering the profit. You can gain per
幽影之尘
or you can use five of them to turn into an enchant which will sell for . Right now it just isn't cost efficient. This will of course change. Lower level enchants from Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor will net you the most. These depend on server economy so look through your patterns to see what you have that sells the best. These enchants are the decorative kind that go on weapons which is why they still sell even though they're old content.

Alchemy
Alchemy is one of the best ways to make gold. The reason for this is because all raiders raid and go looking for flasks or potions for the raids at some point. Not to mention the new addition of invisibility potions, potions that increase movement speed, etc. Research which specific flasks sell on your particular server. There's honestly so many.
As with the other professions the raw mats cost more and sell for more than the product. The price is going down at the moment, so that will be changing soon. But at the moment, transmutations are probably one of your best bets after you hit max. The fish to gems one is probably the best, because gems sell for a ton of gold.

Blacksmithing
Blacksmithing is important for plate wearers as a BS is the only profession that makes plate gear. So all plate wearers will go to Blacksmith's if they need profession gear. Now profession crafted gear has never done terribly well. The last time I saw profession gear do even remotely well was WoD. But still, there's always transmog. The going price of most of the higher level crafted gear does outway the cost but who's going to pay for a piece of 300 ilvl gear when you can just go run a Mythic or a heroic? Hardly anyone.

Leatherworking
Leatherworking can create mail and leather gear. Which can be scrapped, although in most cases scrapping crafted gear is kind of a waste. I'd sell it to someone in trade chat who wants gear or auction it. As of right now, the cost of materials for the high level gear is far higher than the selling value. This will change after the first major patch and the prices go down but right now it's now cheap enough to justify crafting it. As for fun gadgets etc, there aren't many for leatherworking sadly. You can always scrap crafted gear of course.

Skinning
Skinning is one of the lesser known ways to make gold with the gather professions. As with the other professions this depends on your server. Not many people do this profession anymore so the leather is selling for around each and the lower level leathers sell for more like each and the lowest level leathers sell for around each. Especially if you're doing World Quests and there are bodies that you can skin, go right ahead, that's where the majority of your leather will come from. And it's painless. Just watch out for respawns if you're on a high pop server because it's easy to get overwhelmed.
As you can see, there are three standard leathers as well as three green leathers that are worth more of course. Then at the end is a specialty leather that can be crafted by Leatherworkers only.

Herbalism
Herbalism is a great way to make money. I recommend getting whichever alt has the gathering professions out into BFA as soon as possible. Since it's the beginning of an expansion it isn't really a good time to head to some older zones and farm low level herbs because hardly anyone is looking for those items right now. Which is true for the farmers, and the buyers. Herbs from say LK or Vanilla could be profitable, even if slightly but don't spend too much time on something like Legion items because no-one's looking for those things. Less farmed zones like Cata can also be beneficial. Battle for Azeroth has new herbs of course, with the new prices. So far they're doing extremely well, and the price will drop over the coming months but at the moment, they're exorbitantly high. The specialty green herbs are selling for around each while basic herbs are going for about each which is quite amazing.
These are all the herbs that herbalists will have to choose from in Battle for Azeroth. All of the common herbs plus one rare green herb.

Mining
Mining is incredibly profitable. Especially because it's the beginning of the expansion. One way to create profit from heading out to all the lower level zones and farming ore. In my experience selling the ore raw makes more money then selling it smelted. However, this will once again differ depending on your economy. Most older ores will sell from to each.
幽冥铁矿石
always sells fairly well, even though it is older. Once again, Legion stuff probably won't sell as well at the moment, but that will change as the expansion goes on. New ores sell for amounts similar to Herbalism and the specialty items are also selling very high.
These are the three ores that miners have to choose from in Battle For Azeroth. Two common ores plus one rare green ore.
镍铜矿石
雷银矿石
白金矿石
First Aid
This profession has never been a money maker and most (I don't want to say all, but at least 99.99%) gold makers ignore it.
First Aid is no more. It has been split into Alchemy and Tailoring, with Tailoring receiving the majority of the bandages. Still probably not too much of a moneymaker but it will be rarer so there could be something there.
Fishing
Fishing is excellent paired with cooking. Especially in Battle for Azeroth Cooking and fishing are two peas in a pod. And both are extremely profitable. The fish sells for quite a bit as does the oil that you can get from the fish. Fishing is a great way to make money if you have the patience. Most fish can be sold anywhere from to each if it's old content related. BFA fish that can be converted into oil sells for much more, but currently the prices are fluctuating too much to set a hard coded value. Specialty pools can be found multiple places, for example I found multiple kinds of fish all over Zuldazar and several pools in Nazmir, varying from Slimy Mackerels to Redtail Loaches. They all have different selling prices so check the auction house yourself.
Personally, fishing is way too time consuming and I can't sit still that long so I generally ignore this profession. However, my outlook on the matter has changed slightly with BFA and I will sit down and fish, because if you want materials for making money with cooking, fishing the mats yourself is your best bet.I recommend getting the addon FishingBuddy and picking a Netflix show to binge watch on another monitor or the TV while you fish, as this will make it much more bearable if you don't enjoy staring at a fishing pole for 2 hours.
Cooking
Cooking is also a great money maker. As I mentioned previously, it works quite well with fishing. As with most things, the cost to make the item usually surpasses the profit gained, so it's not cost effective. This is not always true of course, and I still recommend leveling this profession.
I recommend creating food then posting it on the AH on Tuesday or Thursday as these are the prime raid days although most high level Guilds have their own farming team; meaning they farm their own mats and create their own food. The reason for posting it on these days is that raiders and PvPers alike will want food for the buffs.
Archaeology
Archaeology is, in my opinion is a terrible way to make gold. If you enjoy the hunt it can be a good way to multi-task though, as you can get rare pets, and other things while in digsites which generally sell for a decent amount. However there is already a guide here on Wowhead for that specific purpose. So here's the guide made by GeertJan.
Huon Bronzebeards Guide to Archeology Gold
.
The End of the Professions Section
This is the end of the profession section. As you can see, there are many things to sell and there is always profit. Based on my own experience and watching my servers AH has gotten me these results. On all professions this depends on the server as they're all different in what sells best and what doesn't. I play on a high population server so on a medium or low pop server this may work better worse. Just remember, in every main profession there is profit so try not to go bouncing around from profession to profession. Select your professions and don't get discouraged if they seem to be highly nerfed or extremely boring. Professions change every expansion, and frequently changes or made mid-expansion so don't fret, there's some gold everywhere.

Scrapper
The scrapper is a new addition in Battle for Azeroth and it's extremely handy. Just put any gear that came from BFA into the scrapper and you get cloth, ink, etc in return depending on what you put in. Azerite gear yields the best rewards, obviously. Things like regular robes, gloves, pants, aren't going to go as well and it might be better to just sell the straight greens the way they are. However, for headpieces, trinkets, rings, I'd scrap those because you get the best rewards that way. Scrapper is definitely a cool addition and I definitely won't be vendoring any greens this expansion.
Instances
Instances are the way to go if you want to be 100% sure if how much gold you're getting and the time spent on it. With other areas of gold making there is always a risk that you won't sell your item and it'll just sit around in your bags or bank. Instances are fairly easy to run and they can be soloed up to WoD. Vanilla, BC, LK, Cata, and MoP raids/dungeons are all soloable. WoD is mostly doable, or so I've heard. Speaking as a Mage, soloing things is much harder. Especially because I play Fire. Legion depends on the class. Hunter/Pally/DK/Warlock+Blueberry can all probably solo them.
Cata raids net around each run depending on the difficulty. I only run Firelands and Bastion of Twilight for other reasons then gold. However it would be good to run all of the Cata instances there are as that will net you about if you do each one. I recommend running any raid possible from LK to MoP. They will net you anywhere between and . ICC, Ulduar, Firelands, the big raids, were always my favorites plus the gold output was huge! As a level 110 with decent gear, you can solo pretty much any instance before WoD. Now that everyone's 120, dungeons and raids are far easier. Using handy dandy math you can use this simple equation to figure out whether the time spent and gold gained is worth it for you. Also take into account the mounts if you're a collector.
g/t=gold per minute
G=gold
T=time (minutes)
For example, 500 gold and it took 60 minutes. 500/60=8.33~ Gold per minute.
Also keep in mind stuff like eating and bathroom breaks in between farming.
Heres' a list of the raids I run, (also for the mounts). Knock out two birds with one stone this way.

World Quests
World Quests are the second easiest way to make gold. In Legion they still net a fair amount. They're fairly straightforward, just view the rewards that appeal to you and go complete it. Easy as pie. And if you have the time, extremely profitable. Just make sure to complete the Emissary quests for your rep. Even if you're maxed you can still get treasures. Obviously with BFA releasing this is pretty low priority but if you don't have it or are simply bored this is a good thing to do. Aim for the one's with the highest gold reward and I personally enjoy the puzzles as those are fairly simple and the Warden's bounty WQ are easy as well. They don't reward quite as much as they did in Legion, but if you want to it's not a bad way to get gold if you want to get the rep at the same time you can knock out two birds with one stone.
Battle for Azeroth world quests unlock once you're max level (120) and friendly with whichever factions are on your continent. The rewards are rather like the mission table with the only truly valuable thing is Azerite for your Heart of Azeroth. The gold rewards are pretty puny honestly. It pretty much equals that of Legion's WQ even after they were nerfed. You can do them if you want but I really wouldn't waste my time on it unless you need the rep.
Questing
Questing is another way to make gold. However it takes a huge amount of time to do anything for gold making and you can't actually get much gold until you reach around level 80. Once you reach around level 80 you can get anywhere from to about from each quest. In the following I will also be covering daily's as those are the best way to make gold in the Questing area of gold making. Making gold with questing I do not recommend especially if you're impatient like me. I've heard that you can get to level 100 in 3 days /played with full heirlooms equipped so this is a great money maker if you have the patience and time for questing a character from 1-120. Also it's a bonus for new servers and new characters on those servers. Battle for Azeroth quests reward very little gold, so it's not too worth it honestly.
Daily's
Daily's are mostly a simple way to make gold. You can get from each MoP daily and there are usually around four per faction. WoD dailies, and others are also available. If you have lots of alts and the time, daily's are an excellent way to make money. BUT it takes time. And if you're running on a limited amount of time, then I would not recommend this. With all questing these things take time so if you're a casual player and/or hate grinding then this is probably not the right path for gold making for you. I myself used to do daily's in MoP when the gold output from one daily was however even though it was nerfed back down to it's still a good source of gold. In Legion Daily's weren't really a thing, so Daily's don't move past WoD.
Regular Questing
Regular questing is even slower then the daily's, but a nice source of gold if you like it. Regular questing from 1-100 with full heirlooms takes 3 days /played. 1-100 takes 2 weeks with full heirlooms, around 6 hours every day. Once you reach the expansion LK however the gold becomes regular gold instead of copper or silver. The Iron Horde quests to get to Tannan Jungle reward each quest. However those are not repeatable but there are tons of them. Regular questing is in my opinion a terrible way to make gold. I don't have the patience for it and it gets repetitive after a while. So questing is not in my opinion a good way to make gold it's just a way that's available but not necessarily good.

Farming
Farming in my opinion is the best way to make gold other than the AH and farming goes really, really well with playing the auction house. Farming is time consuming but normally you only farm for about 1/2 an hour or maybe 1 hour at most so it's not too long. Farming is easy because you can easily kill stuff up to Cata, and MoP mobs are pretty easily killed by a well geared level 110. Farming may seem odd but It's a great way to make money. Most of these tips I have discovered on YouTube but I don't remember who I saw made them. Several people have covered these tips on videos. I am sorry that I cannot give credit where credit is due but I cannot remember whom I saw made these tips so if the person reading this guide made one of these tips then I must give a big thank you for your contribution to the gold making world. A few of these tips I've made myself though so I hope you find the following easy and good for your farming spots. Also, farming is helpful with the auction house. All of the materials farmed can be sold for a lot of money. So it's a great way to make gold.
Tempest Keep (The Eye) Farming
This one is extremely helpful especially if you're starting out on the AH. Greens sell extremely well on my server so this farming spot grants tons and tons of greens plus you get tons of trash and junk to sell. The entrance to Tempest Keep is in
虚空风暴
it's on the far right of the map. The main building is The Eye. Enter it then you'll see tons of mobs. Run all the way through them through the hallway into the big room. Pull all the mobs in the large room then kill everything. After that loot everything, run out, then reset. You can reset the the instance 10 times per day. You get tons of greens, netherweave cloth, and junk to sell. it is a very profitable. Also make sure not to kill the boss or else it won't reset. On the last run I recommend killing all the bosses because there are several pets and one mount that have a chance to drop.
Karazhan Farming
Karazhan farming spot isn't amazing like the others but I think it's worth mentioning. The entrance to Karazhan is in
逆风小径
. The entrance can be found near the ground of the castle. Set it for max difficulty. Run inside through the door and to the stable area. There are tons of horses there. Pull them all up to the horse boss. Then do an AOE attack and loot. You can get 1-2 greens and bunches of netherweave cloth from each run. You can run and then reset an instance 10 times a day. Don't kill the boss or else it won't reset. On the tenth run you can kill the first boss though and there's a chance at a mount.
Firelands Farming
This is like the best way to make gold with instances. The entrance to Firelands is in
海加尔山
. The entrance inside of
海加尔山
is the huge fiery building on the map. Fly around it until you find the entrance. Set the difficulty to 25man Heroic. Run inside. You're going to see lots and lots of trash. Pull all of it in groups and kill them all. You're going to have to dodge bosses and make sure not to attack and kill them or else you won't be able to reset the instance. So kill all the trash, loot, Exit, Reset, then sell. You can get to from each run and can reset everything 10 times every day. So that's around per day. Also clearing everything doesn't take much time, like 10 minutes.
Bastion Of Twilight Farming
Bring a Tailor for this one. Bastion is the best farming spot ever for
烬丝布
. First, you'll want to go to the entrance of Bastion where is in
暮光高地
. The huge tower is where you want to go. Up at the way top is the entrance to Bastion. Enter the instance and you'll see a huge amount of mobs. Kill all of those then loot and exit. It is an amazing farming spot. I usually get tons of transmog and around 950
烬丝布
from 10 runs! Just remember clear the room then exit the instance and reset the place before running back in, also don't kill any of the bosses or the place won't reset. It is a great farming spot in my opinion. The mobs are fairly easy to kill
but
they can kill you if you're not careful. I do 25man Heroic as it yields the most loot. Try to use a class with an AOE as that will make life so much easier.
Cult in Aldurthar Farming
This may not be the fastest way to farm
霜纹布
but it's definitely a good spot for farming it. The only issue with this one is that several other people or sometimes also farming it so you may have to come back later with the nerf to server hopping. First, use a class with several abilities with short cd's and/or instant AoE's, I main a mage so I usually switch to Arcane. Head to Aldur'Thar in Icecrown, Northrend. You'll see a large building with several mobs inside. These are the ones you will be farming. Note that these have a short aggro radius meaning you can only pull half the mobs on one side at a time or they'll reset. Simply keep killing these until you have enough
霜纹布
. On my server they're going for around 2g each. You can also craft bags, gear, etc if you're a tailor. Or you can even make them into bolts and sell them that way.

Trade Chat
Trade chat is a good way to make gold. Especially if you're bored. The reason it's so big is because you can bargain. With the auction house the price listed is the price you get. In Trade Chat you bargain, trade, lower, and raise the price talking to the person. Honestly, I enjoy trade chat, though on smaller servers it doesn't work well. And some people prefer not speaking to people, this is all preference. Please note that this does include haggling to some degree though you're not dealing with pirates ;). When you're buying something make sure to start too low and work your way up. Don't start too high or you'll actually lose money.
Trade chat can be accessed by entering in chat /2 and can be accessed in capital cities. Trade chat selling is simple. Just
Select an item that you want to sell and place it into your inventory.
Click on /2 in in chat. Put a WTS first before you put the item into the chat window. That will mean you wish the sell the item.
Shift+left click on the item. It'll put it into the chat window.
Put "pst" after the item then click enter to send it to chat.
When someones whispers you you'll have to give them the price. Check the AH first before giving out the price.
Then respond back with it and if he likes the price then you'll meet in a place that's easy to get to for both of you. Usually Orgrimmar or New Dalaran.
Make the trade by clicking on his nameplate and hitting trade.
Then bam! You just made your first sale.
If he/she likes your items then he/she may come back for more. More options are WTT (Want to trade, meaning trading two items of equal value), WTB (Want to buy something). When you're selling mounts or pets (especially expensive ones) people will most likely ask for the price to be lowered. This takes judgment from you. Is the time, gold, and frustration you went through worth this price? Is the price slightly lower then the going price? Ask yourself these questions. Often, a seller and buyer will go back and forth a few times before they agree on a price. Selling stuff in Trade Chat is a good money maker but takes some practice. You'll want to sell valuable items like TCG pets, regular pets, mounts and more. Things like transmog is best sold on the AH, unless incredibly valuable (10k or more). Another plus to trade chat is that you don't get taxed money off of the sale price.
I can't stress this enough. BE POLITE. If you hate people do not sell in trade chat. People are more likely to come back if you do not yell at them. (No kidding ;)) But being nice truly is one of the keys. You can haggle to get better prices etc, I do this all the time but you have to be polite about it. Always remember your manners and saying things like "Have a great day!", "Thanks for buying!" etc, really add to it plus it's just nice. And use proper grammer when responding. Never use letters or numbers and always capitalize correctly. This shows you're more intelligent which is more appealing to buyers, trust me.

Old Content
This includes the main gold makers from previous expansions. Legion, Mists of Pandaria, and Warlords of Draenor being the main ones because they contain actual gold makers.
Pandaren Farm
Okay so I know what you're thinking, the pandaren farm is useless! Well it isn't. MoP is now two expansions past. And it has a rather unique situation with cooking. Vegetables, ore, and other miscellaneous materials still sell for insane amounts. More than they sold for during MoP even. I'd say research which of the items sells best on your server. Don't go for the cloth, aim for ones like the Pumpkins. My personal favorite is the
幽冥铁矿石
. Also, the
黑色延极矿石
and
白色延极矿石
consistently sell extremely well.
Most players will already have this unlocked from their time in the MoP expansion, but if you don't just go to Halfhill in Pandaria to start the quest chain with the Tillers. It takes roughly 2 weeks to unlock the majority of the farm. And just add this into your routine, it'll only deduct 10 minutes or so. If you're not a mage, a portal to Shrine can be found in new Dalaran. You can also pay for a portal from a Mage.
Order Hall
Gold is no longer offered in the Order Hall. You can still get rep tokens, which is what I'm currently using it for as well as Legionfall Supplies, and other currency from Legion. That's pretty much the only use for it. I wouldn't forget about it, but it's definitely not as important as it was previously.
Garrisons
Garrisons are 2 expansions ago content which means that the items you get from it are either extremely cheap or extremely expensive. Currently, it's the latter. Mostly because everyone thinks that garrisons are worthless. That is simply not the case. Garrisons cost around to get running meaning that almost everything is at level 3. However, this is a one-time fee and only needed on maybe 2 or 3 characters if you want multiple outlets. This is a rough estimate but the blueprints cost lots of money to get set up. It does pay off in the long run though. Although it costs a fair amount, most people should have at least a level 2 garrison unlocked due to WoD. Garrisons are fairly simple to maintain and take about 1 hour to finish all the daily stuff such as the mine, herb garden, profession buildings and more. In the following paragraphs I will show ideas and suggestions for what buildings are most profitable and are easy to maintain.
Garrison Missions
Garrison Missions are extremely profitable, even with the nerf they got a year ago. Aim to get the followers with the extreme scavenger trait. Other than that, Choose the missions in the following order:
Also, if you see
军团勋章
get it immediately. It is probably the most amazing money maker. It only shows up every once in a while and sells for exorbitant amounts. The last one I sold was and don't be afraid to go for average price instead of undercutting as these sell very quickly and are in high demand due to the farming needed for Laughing Skull Orcs and Frostwolf Orcs.
As for the shipyard, I do use it. Just be careful because your ships can sink. Go for apexis crystals, I generally won't send any ship out if the chance of mission success is 75 percent or lower. Too risky. I usually aim for 85 percent or higher, and that does sometimes mean not sending out all ships. Also, try to get the Sorcerous Air, Earth, Fire, etc because those sell quite well and can be shuffled into a routine for making stuff for professions.
Garrison Buildings
Garrison buildings make up your Garrison. They determine the maximum (or minimum) profit or income. For which class to focus your Garrison efforts on I'd select either a Mage or a Druid. Druid preferably as it makes Mining and Herb Garden go way faster.
Currently ore is going for around but it varies.
真铁矿石
goes for more than
黑石矿石
. Less
真铁矿石
nodes appear in your Mine as well making them worth more. It takes 5 minutes to clear out a level 3 mine, even faster if you're on a Shaman or Druid.
The price of these herbs definitely went up and on my server is now at around . Post them in stacks of 50 or so. Farm the garden every day. It takes about 5 minutes.
Small buildings are the best next to Medium buildings. You can have three Small buildings.
Storehouse.
The Storehouse is amazing, it provides more slots for your garrison buildings and gives you a void storage, bank, transmogrifier, & guild bank. It's an amazing addition to your garrison and is very helpful.
Select two buildings for your professions. For example, I have Tailoring and Inscription so select the Tailoring Emporium and the Scribe's Quarters.
Salvage Yard. Blizz severely nerfed the salvage yard. However, if you have two gathering professions i.e. Herbalism & Mining, you're kind of stuck and at this point might as well go with the Salvage Yard.
Medium buildings are the best ever. It's a really really hard decision choosing which buildings to go for, however I chose the following that would grant the most gold.
Trading post is the best medium gold making building. Garrison resources are traded for common WoD materials. The best one that sells is the
德拉诺之尘
.
德拉诺之尘
sells for around each! It's the best selling material on the market right now besides selling fish. Speaking of fish, fish sells for lots of gold too. So basically check your AH for what sells best then trade in your extra garrison resources for those materials and sell them! It's extremely easy and profitable.
Frostwall Tavern. Recruit followers with the Extreme Scavenger trait. Plus do the other quests, you'll get toys, extra stuff and followers! This is a very important building and in my opinion a must have.
Lumber Mill. Select either Lumber Mill or Frostwall. Personlly, I recommend Frostwall. However, Lumber Mill gives you more garrison resources which means trading in for mats which equals gold. So up to you.
Gladiator's Sanctum. To be honest I have never used this. According to the description I'd only use this if you have a tendency to drown and/or fall of cliffs constantly.
Barns. They are wonderful for making gold. You can make money with the barn by selling the furs, leathers, and savage bloods. Furs can sell for around each, leathers sell for around each, and savage bloods sell for around each.
I've heard it's hard to keep the mobs alive now that we're 110 and it will be even harder at 120. Just not worth it anymore.
In Large buildings there are almost no profit. However, they do make farming and set-up much easier. In that manner, they are priceless. You can have two garrison buildings in the Large size. The following are listed from best choice to worst.
War Mill
This is amazing for starters. When you're first equipping your followers, or even months after (trust me) you must have upgrades. And waiting for this missions to come by can sometimes be slow. This provides a constant supply with the price of Garrison Resources. After you get your followers all upgraded ditch this building and I'd replace it with Spirit Lodge, or Barracks and hold onto Stables that way.
Stables
This is the kind of thing I'd either put at the beginning of my building list or at the end. So that's why it's in the middle. In total, you gain 6 mounts. It does take quite a long time to earn them if you're limited on playing time though. It also displays various mounts from your collection. It does increase mount speed at level 3, though that has never been an issue with me. This is the kind of building I'd build, do the quests then switch in the Barracks for it as a long term building.
Barracks
This building is really good. At level three you get banners, specialty guards. which is fun! This is purely for vanity but I like it. Also, you can have guards to help with the difficult mobs and event though almost all things in WoD are soloable it's still fun to have a bodygaurd This building also increases how many followers you can have, so it's actually really important.
Spirit Lodge
I personally would not go for this one. However, I play a mage so there isn't any need for the Spirit Lodge. For other classes though this is extremely helpful especially if you do battle pet trainers around Draenor.
Goblin Workshop
This one is definitely interesting but it's not exactly a money maker. It was more helpful in WoD, however you can get Goblin Gliders from there. A must have for any toy/treasure hunter. Other than that there's no real use for it.

Miscellaneous Tips
Mage Portals. This business is BOOMING. Although more so on higher population servers. I honestly thought Mage Portals would be dead with the many portals in Orgrimmar, Stormwind, New Dalaran, & Vale. But I guess not. I believe my highest tip has been . The usual amount is to , sometimes to . Just watch trade chat and anytime someone is looking for a portal, whisper them and give them one! You probably think a lot of times that "LF Portal" will mean they don't have the gold to pay for one but don't be fooled, most of these people pay too. I probably receive gold about 95% of the time EVEN if they are low level.
Selling low grade materials. I have actually done this in the past when I was on the low pop server. It works quite well. Not as well on high pop servers though. But on a low population server you can do stuff like farming turkeys, eggs, and buying materials from profession vendors and selling them for a few gold. It's a good way to grab a little gold if you're low level and starting out.
Selling runs. This can vary from class to class. People will pay a LOT of money for PVP runs and Raid runs. Obviously, you can't do raid runs by yourself. Typically, large guilds will sell runs to people for gold, etc. But PVP runs are a good way to make money if you're geared for it. 2v2's etc. Before WoD dropped and the LK fight was still hard people would sell mount runs but most things can be soloed now. Even Yogg Saron.

The End of The Guide
So this is the end of the gold making guide! I will be adding more tips as I run across them and find them. I really hope you enjoyed what I made in this guide! Thank you for taking the time to read this. There are a couple tips here that I did not do because they had already been covered by other Wowhead users. You can comment below if you have any tips, ideas, or suggestions on how I can better this guide! Thanks for reading and have a nice day!
Also, here's the screenshot promised! It's what I've made in a couple of months. While this picture is out of date, during the time period I was using these techniques this is what I was making.

Thanks for putting in the time to write this guide, I thought it was really good.
铜棒
sell really well on my server. I have an Auction House Alt in
奥格瑞玛
which I use to buy these from
基萨斯
(Enchanting Vendor) for 1 Silver 24 Copper and then I sell them on the AH for 20 Gold a pop. I've never had any not sell.

A good guide.
A few comments.
You don't really say much about selling on the AH. I was expecting strategies on Undercutting, Overcutting, etc.
Your estimates of gold from stuff seems pretty high. Ore for 3g? Draenic Dust for 4g? Maybe 2 months ago that was true, but Ore is always about 1g-2g and Draenic Dust has been dropping so it's barely above 2g now.
A lot of your profession stuff talks about old content. This is probably not for most people. People will come here wanting to know what to do with Draenor Mats for their professions. Inscription and Tailoring are well done, but the others seem to talk more about old stuff.
I gave you 4 stars for it. Fleshing it out a bit would make it even better.

Your garrison section could be spruced up a bit.
For small buildings the salvage yard is a great choice for making steady gold. if your an enchanter it can be a great source for dust as well. Or you can save the items to disenchant and use someone's garrison with an enchanting building.
Also the daily from the jc building (you need a follower assigned to it to see the quest.) can give anywhere from 150- 300g per day. Often the quest requires you to spend <60g of materials to complete. Even the ones that require above that still give a profit. This becomes very profitable if you can do it on multiple characters.
The storehouse is honestly worthless outside of the convenience it provides.
For medium buildings you want an inn. This provides multiple benefits. Each week you can recruit a character with a trait/ability of your choice. If you pick ones with treasure hunter you can multiply your gains from garrison gold missions. Over time you can build up a full roster of treasure hunters. I've pulled in 4k from a blingtron vault quest thanks to this. Also a level 3 inn will unlock some extra treasure missions for gold.
Once you have a full roster of treasure hunters you can trade this in for a trading post.
For large buildings I would recommend a barracks. This combos with the inn by allowing up to 25 followers. This allows more characters with treasure hunter making it easier to complete multiple gold missions while using the trait.

would let people check the current selling prices on their servers, so you don't have to worry when your quoted prices go out of date.

The MoP instances part feels a little too conservative. Pretty much anyone can solo the dungeons, Mogu'shan Vaults and some of the world bosses can be reasonably soloed by tank/pet specs, and I expect most of the others could be done with 2-3 people if one of them is a tank.
However, I don't think there's much point in doing so unless you're going for achievements or farming specific drops - they take a lot longer to clear than Wrath/Cata instances (less gold/hour) and there's enough of those that you should be fine unless you have way too much free time.

I don't get why this guide says it's updated for Legion and you still say Auctioneer takes up to 20 minutes to scan... It's been a few extensions that we can quick scan with the double right arrow button thanks to a change in the wow's api a while ago. :O
This makes a huge change!

I found a low-level strat for earning gold in Battle for Azeroth. You need an active subscription, and obviously, the Battle for Azeroth Expansion. It's okay if you're a newbie with this strat, in fact, new players and starting characters are the audience this works for.
Create your character as normal and complete any content necessary to level and possibly to get to the open world (goblins, pandarens, and worgens get this kind of starter zone).
If your faction is the Alliance, travel to Stormwind as soon as you choose all your professions. You should have Fishing as well. In the harbor, where the boat used to go to Darnassus, you'll find a ship periodically comes for Kul Tiras. Take the boat there. When you arrive at port, be careful. DO NOT FALL INTO THE WATER OR YOU MAY DIE! The objective here is to go fishing. Junk items come up frequently and vend for 2-8 gp. You can process most fish into oil that vends for 62 sp 50 cp, meaning a 200 count stack will bring 125 gp. I suggest casually fishing here to pick up coins part time. 30 minutes to an hour will bring a decent income, but don't expect riches.
Horde players can access Zandalar from a ship at Echo Isles. As long as you treat the monsters in the water with the same respect, a fledgling Horde player can accomplish the same goal. Both ports have vendors if you don't have vendor mounts.

Is it just me or is this guide more for those who don't know how to make gold at all? This guide is time invested for gold. It's not entrepreneurship for millions per hour. As nothing but a miner and skinner, I get the same results as this guide ,and WITHOUT trying to farm it. Where are the real guides for those who already know the customary ways of making gold? Thanks.
