Grants a 15% chance to empower
. The next non-instant
will deal 300% more damage.
Best in slot, use this if you have it unless the fight requires a lot of movement.
Increases Scorch's damage by 350% against targets below 30% health.
deal more damage than
. Great legendary, especially if the boss or adds are sub-30% for a long time (Elisande, for example, is at that point three times in the fight). Very powerful for the massive mobility increase.
does not cause
, and is not affected by similar effects such as
A Mage with this ring can benefit from two casts of
(or similar) spells: once from an ally and once from themselves. Incredibly powerful on any fight where you can benefit from two casts of Time Warp. One of our best legendaries, along with the Marquee Bindings and Koralon's.
Cast one Meteor for every 30 Fireball or Pyroblast casts.
The Meteor cast by this ability is the same as the
talent, which is very strong against a single target; and multiple targets, if they stay in the burning ground. With Nighthold or Tomb gear, you will cast a
of Pyroblasts, making this a strong legendary. Cast a Fireball and instant Pyroblast at the same time to proc two Meteors.
Flame On is the go-to talent on its tier, so this legendary opens up options;
is the preferred choice.
Phoenix's Flames lowers the cooldown of Combustion by six seconds.
Damage was moved away from Combustion in patch 7.1.5, but these gloves are still worthwhile (unless on an encounter where you need to save Combustion for a specific moment).
Applying a loss of control effect to an enemy grants you 70% increased movement speed and 15% Haste for 10 seconds, with 10% and 2% granted passively.
will all activate this ring. The passive effects are excellent and it's extremely strong on any fight where it can be consistently activated, such as Elisande, Gul'dan or the Desolate Host.
Gain an absorb shield for 25% of your maximum health once every 30 seconds.
A survivability increase with excellent stats. Very viable.
Doubles the range and damage of
Very powerful for both AoE and single-target situations; always combine this with
Provides an absorb shield equal to 20% of your maximum health after casting
, this drastically increases survivability.
An on-use effect that causes a massive explosion around your target, on a relatively short cooldown.
Powerful at lower gear levels, but in Tomb damage (and mob health) has scaled past the point where this is a viable option.
Stand still for six seconds to gain a cast-while-moving buff for four seconds.
Fire Mages already have a high amount of mobility, so even on fights with near-constant movement, this is not a useful item.
Increases the effect of the Light and Shadow powers granted by the Netherlight Crucible by 50%.
A bad legendary all over. Most of the above choices will outperform this ring for any spec.
This list was arrived at assuming that all trinkets rolled at or near their maximum potential.

Combining Tier sets
The choice of when to drop a two-piece bonus is down to your personal situation; run simulations in Simcraft or Raidbots to see if you will gain or lose damage by switching away. In T20 content Fire Mages have been keeping two-piece T19; however, two-piece T20 is generally not good enough to justify this, and it is safe to switch to off-set pieces from Antorus.
Due to the Titan/Warforged system,'best-in-slot' lists are no longer realistic. The below are not BiS lists, but simply the most optimal gear for that particular slot, excluding legendaries (Aman'Thul's Vision does not count towards the Legion legendary limit).

Finding Gear on Wowhead
From simple recommendations to advanced filters, Wowhead can help you find the gear you want.
is a great way to search for gear if you are new to Wowhead's filtering system.
Choose what item category, gear slot, and class specialization you're interested in, and it will return results for you. You can further narrow it down by source--including gear from LFR and heroic dungeons.
You can find the Item Finder via Tools > Item Finder or Database > Items > Item Finder.
returns personalized gear suggestions for you and shows which content has the most upgrades.
Simply load up the
with you preferred character and it will list gear recommendations in a 20 ilvl range for you. It will also list how many gear upgrades each boss has so you can plan out bonus rolls. Finally, the character planner will perform an audit and let you know if you have any missing enchants, glyphs, or gems.
If you have a character in our
which is great for tracking vanity collections and viewing your character in our 3D modelviewer, you can click on the "Planner" button in the header to access the tool. If you don't, you can just enter your information in at Tools > Character Planner.
Wowhead utilizes a powerful system of item filters to narrow down the gear you need.
, you can enter in some basic options at the top--the name of the item, its item level, the level the players needs to be. The "Usable by" dropdowns cover factions, class, and role.
The dropdown menu right above "Stat Weights" opens to display a variety of advanced options. These cover the following:
General item info such as Added in Expansion/Patch, BoE/BoP, Unique-Equipped, Class-Specific.
Stats: All primary stats, secondary stats, defensive stats, and weapon stats.
Source: All in-game sources, ranging from raid difficulties to the Black Market Auction House to sold by a vendor.
Miscellaneous: Many of these filters are not relevant to equippable gear such as Crafting Reagents and Toys, but you can filter for items that are currently obtainable.
Once you've selected a filter from the menu, click on Apply filter for search results. You can repeat the process to filter for multiple criteria at once--for example, Agility gear that is found in Mythic Foundry.
Over on the right-hand side of the page, you can select a particular Gear Slot or Quality to narrow results even further.
Finally, you can quickly view a subset of items at once using the Database Menus. Head to Database > Items and mouseover the Weapon and Armor options for quick links to gear arranged by armor type and Armor slot.
