My name is Guiltyas, I'm currently raiding in Pure-Turalyon, where I joined towards the end of BFA. I've played Feral Druid since Wrath of the Lich King when I first picked it up as a main spec, since then I've engaged in almost all aspects of the game, from RBGs, to Challenge Modes, to Arena's, and of course to fairly high end raiding (around world 100 at the moment).
I've been an active and enthusiastic member of the feral druid community since discord heralded a new era of engagement among spec communities, I'm fairly well respected as a source of information and back that up with a long record of high end feral performance, I've claimed multiple rank 1's across different fights in different raid tiers, I've obtained Gladiator in the past (legion season 1), and now have a long history of providing information and help about about Feral Druid.

General Philosophy on rotation guides
Most specs in the game nowadays don't have a hard and fast rotation but more so have a priority system that guides what abilities you should use, this is much more useful than a hard and fast rotation guide because it generally teaches you the philosophy as to why you should be using those abilities and empowers you to make the correct decisions as to how to use your abilities.

Feral Druid Advanced Tips
Bleed Strength/Snapshotting
A unique mechanic still present in Feral, unlike other specs, is snapshotting. Snapshotting is when a buff that is present when a bleed is applied is maintained over the duration of the bleed. Feral now only has limited snapshotting with specific abilities,

. Tracking bleed strength is important if you want to take the biggest advantage of the Pandemic mechanic. You will always overwrite a weaker

is one of the few bits of dynamic snapshotting remaining,

procs aren't reliable or predictable so there's actually decisions to be made about how you spend the procs. Generally you'll want to spend these on

, however in the instance where you already have a

snapshotted with the stealth status and a duration greater than 6 seconds you can spend these procs on

instead for additional combo points.
Pandemic Mechanic
The Pandemic mechanic is any DoT (bleed in our case) or buff that is refreshed early will add up to 30% duration and apply it to the new DoT. That means as long as you refresh your bleeds when they have 30% or less remaining duration you will not lose any uptime.
These are the baseline pandemic durations with no talents. Talents that adjust the base duration of these spells will also change the pandemic window.

Four Combo Points or Five
The age old question! Should I cast my finishers at 4 combo points (and have a slightly weaker finisher) or cast them at 5 combo points and risk wasting some combo points. Currently there's a very simple guideline to this.

- You should aim to use your finishers at 5 combo points as any overflow will be caught by

- You should aim to cast your finishers at 4+ combo points to avoid wasteage. This means that a lot of the times due to crit you may end up casting at 5 but this isn't wrong, just means you've gotten lucky! (or really unlucky)

The racial for Night Elf druids is also an offensive cooldown for Feral. Using
影遁
considers you in stealth which causes your
斜掠
to deal 60% additional damage if cast from
潜行
or Shadowmeld. For this reason, it is preferable to play Night Elf for maximum throughput as feral.
Energy Pooling
Feral is an Energy-based class with a strong emphasis on damage over time. Due to the limited nature of Energy, you will always have the same amount of Energy generated per second over the course of the fight. Because of this, doing nothing and allowing Energy to regenerate is a net neutral DPS change.
Pooling is the method by which you turn this neutrality into a positive effect. The general idea is that you ensure that you have your DoTs ticking, you generate 5 Combo Points and then you wait, or “pool”. This allows you to regain Energy, increasing your damage immensely, and maintaining your current damage at worst. Successful pooling will result in higher Energy amounts when you cast your finishers, smoothing out the rotation and allowing you to react to procs, additional mobs, or other changes in your situation as efficiently as possible. It also has benefits in playstyle and limiting the impact of RNG on your uptimes.
Offensive Cooldown Usage for Feral Druids
Feral has a pretty large range of offensive cooldowns with varying cooldowns in Dragonflight depending on what talents you take. While these cooldowns are listed in the rotation section there's a lot to think about in terms of how you use them with their differing cooldowns. As always when it comes to cooldowns these rules are just a guide, when it comes to actual fights you may need to save these for particular parts of a fight.
How to play in

With the changes in 10.1
狂暴
now has new behaviour, it now pools some of your combo points when you overcap and refunds them upon spending, it also comes with a shiny new ticking combo points feature that results in a reasonably significant amount of extra combo points (meaning more finishers.
There are a couple of important notes about how to play the new version of
狂暴
, to start with the new
斜掠
modifier is dynamic, which means that it will increase and decrease the damage of your existing
斜掠
when it is applied or removed. This means that you'll now need to track
骤然突袭
and care about how you spend them during
狂暴
as the snapshot matters now.
狂暴
also has a
撕碎
modifier now, which combined with the ticking combo points can make it tricky to proc
血腥爪击
, there is a pretty simple guideline for this, if you ever naturally end up having used 2 generators towards proccing

then you should make it a priority to make your next generator proc

. I.e. if you've refreshed

Use this on cooldown as much as possible without capping energy. Good tracking of the cooldown means that you should be able too see it coming off and burn some energy before it comes up.

You should use this on cooldown as much as possible, If the target already has the debuff with more than 2 stacks then you'll want to cast it on yourself to avoid wasting stacks.

The rotation section of this guide needs to be rewritten.
There are many parts that are ambiguous.
For example:
If Talented 4 or 5 Combo Points - Regrowth for Bloodtalons
If 4 or 5 combo points is talented? If regrowth is talented? This is very confusing to someone who doesn’t already know all the ins and outs of Feral druids, i.e. someone who would be reading this guide.
After reading other guides I have have learned that this should be:
Cast Regrowth if at 4 or 5 combo points and if Bloodtalons is talented.
Another example:
Maintain Rip, if below 25% or with Sabertooth Talented make sure to refresh this with Ferocious Bite.
I have no idea what “if below 25%” means. If the target is below 25% health? If the Rip debuff timer has less than 25% remaining? If my health is below 25%?

Even if i follow the guides here, i still only do a baseline of around mid 4000 damage on single target dummies, when other classes do a baseline of much more than that.
im a 120 feral with an ilvl of 309 atm, it should be better i think? maybe i am wrong
Feral has been shuffled around so much at this point that im at a loss. I struggle a lot to understand how i should talent and do my rotations at this point.

Feral is simple, be an octopus (6-8 button min), and u have half damage like other dps with 2-3 buttons..
And, "Old soldier" said: don't die.

Apparently Guiltyas took a look over the rotation page, and thinks it all looks correct, but hasn't considered that Jagged Wounds, nor the execute mechanic behind Bite no longer being in the game after 8.1...
Yet updated only 12 hours ago...
WoWHead can do so much better in getting someone to maintain their guides.
Edited again almost a week after patch release.
Fantastic to see Jagged Wounds no longer being referred to for pandemic timers, yet the execute mechanic is still on multiple pages after these edits.
Wonderful job in spreading misinformation in what should be a respected guide.

3 things: A clarification request, a "why this?" question, and pointing out a minor error that isn't the usual "Update Rip" that others are saying (which you should still do).
So, in the Bleed Strength section, you say "As long as the timer is 80% duration." Okay, what does this mean exactly? I know the Pandemic stuff for DoTs is that when they're refreshed they retain up to 30% of the max duration depending on how much time was left on the DoT, but what does "the timer is 80% duration" mean in regards? That can be taken as "under 80% duration" or "over 80% duration", but as the reader, for all I know, it could mean that 80% duration of the DoT has been used up and only 20% remains because I can see all of those depending on how you personally view durations and how ambiguous the line is. My gut says "under 80% remaining" but as I'm not the one who's done extensive testing, there's the chance I could be wrong and I'd like to avoid it, but the better option would probably be to instead just say the actual time is for each DoT like you do in the Pandemic section.
Also, I can understand using Ferocious Bite at 5 combo points, increased damage, but why would I wait for 5 combo points for any other reason? If I'm at 4 combo points, and the attack to generate that last point crits, that's a wasted Primal Fury proc, and it's even more confusing when you say to use Regrowth at 4 points if you have Bloodtalons while stating to only use finishers at 5 combo points, and also on top of that taking into account what you mention about snapshots. This isn't a criticism, I'm actually curious about this as other sites show the same but don't go into why. Feral is often compared to playing a Rogue, and Rogue guides do use finishers at 4 combo points, so I'm legitimately curious at the difference.
Lastly, a minor note, but your coding is screwed up on the rotation part. It defaults showing Brutal Slash as the last step with the talent unselected, then shows to use Shred when selecting the Brutal Slash talent.

WoWHead could have done so much better in getting someone who cared for their quality of work, and the playerbase it's intended for...

You will always overwrite a weaker Rake with a stronger bleed as long as the timer is 80% duration.
This sentence is difficult to understand. Above or below 80%? I can't tell when I should attempt overwrite a weaker bleed with a stronger one.

the tigers fury +moonfire combo will also cause the mentioned bug if you use it while apex predator is active, so if you arent able to time your uses of it to make sure apex predator doesn't proc just before you use it, you're best off not using the macro at all on fights you use apex predator for

The pandemic window for a
5-combo-point Rip
is 7s. However, if Rip was applied with fewer combo points, the window is shorter (e.g., only 4s for a 2-combo-point Rip).

This is the worst class guide on WoWHead, I read so far.
Wrong legendary and talent suggestion. Advice us to NOT chose talents and Legendries that not 99%, but 100% of top logs pick.
Also, Feral GCD is 1 sec since 9.0 day 1. what are we talking about here?
"The gameplay feels extremely clunky due to the sudden shift in the length of the GCD, going from a 1s static GCD in cat form to a 1.5s GCD. "
WoW head was the on place where I can quickly jump on, and get accurate info, was really helpful to fulfil my role in the guild, this unmoderated misinformation is not acceptable, at least copy the icy veins guide here, if you to lazy to write a proper one.

What is the "cursed singletarget Primal Wrath build"? It's not listed in the talents section of the guide. I'm always willing to try new meme specs and this one sounds really stupid and funny.

In multi-target, with 5 combot points, do we really have to use them on Primal Wrath or Ferious Bite sometimes (obviously, if targets are about to die, Ferious Bite is better) ?

Dragonflight 10.0 feedback:
The gearing section could've used a lot more discussion regarding the value of craftables. The JC necklace from primal invasions, the multiple "toxic" leatherworking boots that won't conflict with tier, engineering wrists, how the alchemy stone stacks up (especially since this guide suggests the potion absorption inhibitors and since anyone can now where the alchemy stones, even non-alchemists).
