Introduction
Understanding the
Darkmoon Faire
and the
Darkmoon Island
This guide was written for anyone interested in the Darkmoon Faire. It covers all the basics and FAQs that most people want to know. My aspiration is that this guide will help loads of people understand and enjoy the Darkmoon Faire as much as I have. Please rate this guide & comment if you find it helpful.
The Basics
When is it?
The Darkmoon Faire comes to town once per month,
starting on the 1st Sunday of the month,
and lasts for one week.
Where is it?
The portals to get to the DMF are located in the following cities:
Just outside
Thunder Bluff
in
Mulgore
for Horde players.
South of
Stormwind City
in the Goldshire section of
Elwynn Forest
for Alliance players.
You can also talk to a
Darkmoon Faire Mystic Mage
(found in most major cities) who will teleport you to the entrance of the DMF for a small fee.
When you're done you can exit the DMF by the portal on the dock (Southern part of the Island) or you can go back to where you first teleported in.
Map of the Faire
CREDIT: This map stolen (with permission) from Icy-Veins.
Throughout writing this guide I took pride in having all the pictures original, taken by myself throughout numerous Darkmoon Faires.
However, this map is so darn good, it made no sense for me to try and reproduce another map.
See the Icy-Veins article about the Darkmoon Faire at
http://www.icy-veins.com/darkmoon-faire-wow
What To Do When You First Enter!
First things first, as soon as you arrive at the Faire, get the
Darkmoon Adventurer's Guide
and keep it in your bag,
ON YOU
at all times. This allows you to get artifacts when you're in dungeons, raids, or battlegrounds, complete the monthly quest
Test Your Strength
, and get the Achievement
Taking the Show on the Road
/
Taking the Show on the Road
. (Note: You can get DMF items throughout the entire month
if you have the Guide on you,
but you can only turn items in when the Faire is open). You get the Adventurer's Guide as a reward from
The Darkmoon Faire
/
The Darkmoon Faire
, along with 5
Darkmoon Prize Tickets
. Or you can pick up a replacement from the NPC
Selina Dourman
(just talk to her).
You will also need
Darkmoon Game Tokens
which you can buy from various DMF vendors (
Sazz Coincatcher
,
Trixi Sharpworth
, or
Zina Sharpworth
). They sell
Sack o' Tokens
(contains 5 tokens) &
Pouch o' Tokens
(contains 20 tokens). Tokens are soulbound & stack up to 200.
Lastly, you may need to bring items for the profession quests. I can't tell you how annoying it is to get all the way into the DMF and realize you forgot
Simple Flour
for cooking. (See the Profession section of this guide. It will tell you what to bring for each profession quest).
If you're a lower level toon, you can talk to
"Dusty" Brandom
and take a
Darkmoon Strider
as a temp mount down to the faire. It actually acts like a buff, so when you want to dismount just right-click on the buff. Keep in mind that once you cancel the mount buff you can't re-mount without going back to "Dusty" Brandom. You can also ride the
ponies
at the back of the Faire
(56,81)
, or use one of your own ground mounts, riding skill permitting.
How to get Darkmoon Prize Tickets?
Ticket Breakdown!
80 Turning in all nine artifacts.
10 Den Mother's Demise.
8 Two primary profession quests.
12 All four secondary profession quests.
10 Test Your Strength.
42 Daily Mini-Games.
14 The Race Games.
105 Both pet battle dailies, all seven days the Faire is open.
Getting Additional Tickets!:
It is possible to obtain additional Darkmoon Prize Tickets every month besides what's listed above:
Extra Day of Dailies:
The Darkmoon Faire begins early Sunday morning, before dailies reset. There is enough time to accept and complete all eight of the daily quests before the reset. This will net you an additional 21 Darkmoon Prize Tickets - six from the regular games and fifteen from the two pet battle quests.
Primary Professions:
You can unlearn and relearn (and level to at least 75) primary professions to do the other primary profession quests. (However, not sure why anyone would want to delete a primary profession just for more DMF tickets when you can get them in other ways without losing a primary profession.)
Mailing Darkmoon Game Prize:
Darkmoon Game Prize
is not soulbound and therefore available to mail to alts if you want to stack
Darkmoon Prize Tickets
on specific toons. Just remember it needs to be the same faction on the same server to mail them.
Tickets carry over to future DMFs (IE: You don't lose them) and are found in your currency tab.
85 Tickets From Artifacts
Looted in dungeons, raids, or battlegrounds if you have the
Darkmoon Adventurer's Guide
on you.
You can also find these on the Auction House.
You can mail these to alts.
Each artifact can be turned in once per toon, per DMF.

These award 2 skill points toward that profession, 3 points for Secondary Skills. Dragonflight-era Professions will also award +3 Knowledge and 15x
匠人之勇
. You will need a minimum skill level of 1 in any expansion's profession to pick up the quest. If you're max level in one expansion's professions, you'll get 3 points toward the profession in the previous expansion, or farther down depending on which you have at maximum level. For example, if you have max-level Dragonflight cooking, you will earn 3 points in Shadowlands Cooking if you don't have that maxxed.

VIDEO-TAILORING PROFESSION QUEST
10 Tickets From The Monthly Quest
Test Your Strength
From NPC
Kerri Hicks
Rewards: 10
Darkmoon Prize Tickets
, 250 rep with DMF
What to do: Kerri Hicks wants you to collect 250
Grisly Trophies
. Trophies are obtained as long as you kill creatures that offer experience or honor and you have the
Darkmoon Adventurer's Guide
with you. It is possible to complete this quest during the week. Pick it up on Sunday, kill the 250 quest requirements, & turn it in at the end of the week. Otherwise you'll pick up the quest one DMF, and turn it in the subsequent DMF. Which is all fine and good. However, once you turn it in that's it for that DMF. And you can't pick the quest back up again until the next DMF. So, even if you acquired the quest the previous month, you don't get it again if it's still an outstanding quest in your log. (IE: You have to turn this quest in to close it & "reset" it. Only then is it available to snag again during the next DMF.)
This can be completed once per toon, per DMF.
42 Tickets From Daily Mini-Games
You will need
Darkmoon Game Tokens
to play the mini-games.
These can all be completed once per day, per toon, per DMF.

It's Hammer Time
From NPC
Mola
Rewards:
Darkmoon Game Prize
& 250 reputation with DMF, repeatable everyday per toon. It can also reward the following achievement:
That's Whack!
(rewards
Hogs' Studded Collar
)
What to do: The goal is to get 30 points in one minute. Points are accumulative so you can do this multiple times to achieve the points required to complete this mini-game. Go for the gnolls and hoggers, but avoid the babies (they stun you).
Note: Don't worry if there're other toons in the gaming area. Everyone has their own "phase" and sees different whackable items. So while you see a baby, someone else may see a hogger. Also if more than one person is whacking the same barrel, everyone gets the point, so again don't panic if you see someone running for "your barrel." Also, you will be sent out of the gaming area and stunned for a few seconds after the time has expired. This is normal, and the same thing that happens to someone running into the gaming area uninvited.
Helpful Hints:
Keep running!
When you whack a barrel you will stop running to smash it, then mouse turn to the next one. Rinse & repeat. Holding down your running key will save precious seconds between barrels.
Look for new barrels!
Barrels that just popped have a puff of smoke. So if it's a choice of running to an older barrel or a newer one, pick the newer one if you think you'll miss the older one.
Go for Hoggers whenever possible!
Remember they give you more points.

VIDEO-THAT'S WHACK!
The Humanoid Cannonball
From NPC
Maxima Blastenheimer
Rewards:
Darkmoon Game Prize
& 250 reputation with DMF, repeatable everyday per toon
See also:
Blastenheimer Bullseye
What to do: Get 5 points. You don't have to aim, the cannon automatically shots you in a line to the quest ring, so just hit 1 at the right time to fall into the center. You can get 5 points by getting a bullseye, 3 points by getting close to the center of the ring, or 1 point for being near the target ring in the water. Points are accumulative so you can do this multiple times to achieve the points required to complete this mini-game. After you land in the water, instead of running back, you can get a teleport back to the cannon for a small fee by the NPC standing on the shore fishing named
Teleportologist Fozlebub
.
Note:
Turn off anything that will affect your fall or make you go splat.
Examples are:
Levitate
,
Slow Fall
,
Water Walking
,
Path of Frost
,
Elixir of Water Walking
, etc. I mention this as many people use these abilities (or mounts) that can walk on water for fishing at the DMF. So just remember to remove them before being shot out of the cannon.
Helpful Hints:
Aim your camera down!
It helps if you're looking toward the ground to gauge the water ring.
Only worry about when to release your wings!
Remember, you don't have to fly left or right, you can only go straight. The countdown is pretty accurate, so release around the time when you hear the "one" during the 5,4,3,2,1 countdown. You should be a little bit before the water ring when you release your wings, because when you release you don't fall straight down, you'll act like you have inertia and go a little bit farther.
VIDEO-THE HUMANOID CANNONBALL
He Shoots, He Scores!
From NPC
Rinling
Rewards:
Darkmoon Game Prize
& 250 reputation with DMF, repeatable everyday per toon
See also:
Quick Shot
What to do: Get 25 points within one minute. Points are accumulative so you can do this multiple times to achieve the points required to complete this mini-game. Points are earned by shooting one of the three marked targets. Basically, you'll see an arrow over one of the three targets - shoot that one for points. You can get 2-3 shots per target if you're fast enough, and getting a Quick Shot will give you extra points. The easiest way to do this mini-game is to stand in the middle, right in front of (not on top of) the booth - and mouse turn to aim.
Note:
Please be respectful of other players.
This NPC hands out four quests and can be one of the busier NPCs at the DMF. So... don't be Rudeness McInconsiderate and block the gaming area with your Mammoth or Kodo mount. If you don't feel like dismounting, make sure you're at the left-most side of Rinling, on the outside of the shooting area.
Helpful Hints:
Get multiple shots in!
You can get two to three shots in per target (two is very do-able, three is harder). If you can get a feel for the timing of when the next target will be marked, you can actually shoot and mouse turn at the same time. Then shoot again.
You get more points for a "quick shot!"
So try and be quick on the draw each target.
VIDEO-HE SHOOTS, HE SCORES!
Tonk Commander
From NPC
Finlay Coolshot
Rewards:
Darkmoon Game Prize
& 250 reputation with DMF, repeatable everyday per toon. As well as the achievement
Ace Tonk Commander
if you score 45 hits in one session (rewards
Darkmoon Tonk Controller
)
What to do: Get 30 points within one minute. Points are accumulative so you can do this multiple times to achieve the points required to complete this mini-game. Sometimes a target won't blow up, however you will get the point(s). Just keep hitting 1 until it does blow up. Also, look for a cluster of targets instead of driving from target to target.
Note: Watch out for the Zeppelin and other enemy tonks. They will blow you up. You'll hear a "ding" & see a green arrow above you if an enemy tonk has targeted you.
Helpful Hints:
Go for clusters!
It's easier to shoot several targets at once than drive around to one target at a time.
Avoid the enemy tonks & zep!
They will blow you up.
Run away little girl!
If you are targeted by an enemy tonk, run away or move perpendicular when you see them aim for you.
Face the target!
Remember to have your tonk face the target when you go to fire at it. So you can be in a cluster and: move->fire, move->fire, move->fire. Where you're moving just a smigen so you face each target for each shot. (However, if you're going for the achievement... drive around and just
spam
Cannon
! Currently it seems like the more people in the area, the faster the targets spawn. So if you're on a low pop server, you might want to invite a few friends to go into the area with you and afk to spawn what's needed for this achievement.)
VIDEO-TONK COMMANDER
Target: Turtle
From NPC
Jessica Rogers
Rewards:
Darkmoon Game Prize
& 250 reputation with DMF, repeatable everyday per toon. As well as
Triumphant Turtle Tossing
if you successfully toss 10 rings onto Dubenko the Darkmoon Turtle in one session. (rewards
Darkmoon Ring-Flinger
)
What to do: Get 3 rings on the turtle. Points are accumulative so you can do this multiple times to achieve the points required to complete this mini-game. You'll press 1 to create a green aiming circle, then click the mouse to throw the ring there.
Note: The turtle moves sporadically, so sometimes it's easier to throw the rings in the middle as he's running back to the center of the ring.
Helpful Hints:
Target the center and start casting to throw your ring as soon as he begins to run back to the middle!
When Dubenko (the turtle) starts to wonder about, he zips to a random location, then zips back to the center. Because you know he always goes back to the center, just time your ring throws then.
Remember to aim!
You want to aim prior to throwing your rings.

Note: Each ring refreshes your flying buff, and there are a series of three achievements you can get.
Helpful Hints:
Make sure to look ahead and plan rings with enough time to refresh your flying buff!

Helpful Hints:
Use the speed boosts and special abilities often or at specific markers (like the one getting out of the water) to go as fast as possible. You DON'T have to go through every banner (you DO have to go through every checkpoint though), so you can take a few shortcuts like running through the woods.

Helpful Hints:
Use the speed boosts and special abilities often. You DON'T have to go through every banner (you DO have to go through every checkpoint though), so you can take a few shortcuts like leaping up the mountain (just grab your friend with the 3rd ability who's on the quest and parked up the mountain side if you're on the Strider mount!) or jumping off the entrance hillside. The "ground loot" changes! So you might find yourself waiting for the rocket for a few seconds.

Darkmoon Rabbit
-The
Darkmoon Rabbit
is found on the Southeastern part of the island, usually in a small cave on the beach. (Approximately 77,79)
-Successfully killing this adorable little fluff monster requires a bunch of people, so bring a group.
-Grants you the achievement
That Rabbit's Dynamite!
-He always drops one
Darkmoon Rabbit
battle pet, per kill. (Happy loot rolling!)
-He spawns roughly two days after being killed. (36+ hours)
-He is group tagged.
-He has the abilities:
Vicious Streak
This is Physical Damage.
Interdimensional Hop
This is basically a "Bunny Blink."
HUGE, SHARP TEETH!
This will randomly target some poor sap, confuse 'em, and cause some pretty decent (physical) damage to them. 25% of your health every second to be precise. (Basically, just have someone in your party heal through it.)
<---Cave where the vicious bunny resides...
Moonfang, the Darkmoon Den Mother
-The Darkmoon Den Mother
Moonfang
is found on the Western side of the island in the woods, and spawns next to the tree with all the cages hanging from it. (Approximately 39,44)
-Successfully killing her requires a bunch of people.
-She randomly drops all sorts of personal loot. (IE: No rolling!) So if you want everything she drops, kill her multiple times because you have the
possibility
of getting loot on each and every kill. (IE: Sometimes there's loot, and sometimes not.)
Moonfang's Pelt
begins the quest
Den Mother's Demise
Moonfang's Paw
turns you into a mini-Moonfang for 10 minutes
Shimmering Moonstone
is a
temporary
DMF mount
Moonfang Shroud
temporarily turns your helm into a wolf head
Moon Moon
is a Battle Pet
-She can be summoned roughly one hour after being killed.
-She is a shared tag.
-She has the abilities:
Leap for the Kill
This is Physical Damage that will also knock you down if you're in melee range.
Fangs of the Moon
A stun that inflicts Arcane Damage plus increases your damage taken by 150% for eight seconds.
Moonfang's Tears
A hard hitting AoE
Moonfang's Curse
This will Mind Control anyone within 10 yards for five minutes, turning them into a half-wolf servant that's sporting a 200% increased damage buff.
Call the Pack
will summon adds called
Moonfang Packmates
Prior to spawning, you will see
Moonfang Snarlers
and then
Moonfang Dreadhowls
. Kill these to summon Moonfang.
Buffs, Extra XP & Extra Rep Gain
Darkmoon Top Hat, Extra XP & Rep
The
Darkmoon Top Hat
gives the wearer a 10% experience & rep increase for one hour, and is consumed on use.
You obtain it from the Souvenir & Toy Prizes vendor
Gelvas Grimegate
for 10
Darkmoon Prize Ticket
, or win it from
Darkmoon Game Prize
(a reward from the daily Mini-Games).
This item is a limited time, unique item, & stacks in your bag. Which means you can't mail it to alts, and it will disappear after the DMF leaves town. So, a word of caution: only purchase what you can use during the DMF. I wouldn't go bonkers stocking up. However, if you wait to open your
Darkmoon Game Prizes
after the DMF has ended, and it contains a
Darkmoon Top Hat
, you can still use the buff. The buff itself will not vanish if you log out in an inn, however the item itself is lost if not used before you log out during non-DMF times. So a word of advice, if you need the buff on another toon (leveling, rep grinding, getting the "Insane" achievement, pet battle leveling, etc), mail all your
Darkmoon Game Prizes
to that toon. You can also store the
Darkmoon Game Prizes
in your guild bank if that's an option.
No: This buff also does not stack with the
WHEE!
buff from the carousel.
No: This buff does not persist through death.
No: You do not lose the buff if you log out, but the time keeps ticking. (So if you log out for more than an hour = buff lost)
Yes: This buff does help increase XP for pet battles.
Yes. This stacks with the level 3
Trading Post
(Increases reputation gain in Draenor by 20%)
Carousel Ride Buff for Extra XP & Rep
Experience and Reputation gains increased by 10%.
You'll need to buy the
Ride Ticket Book
from the NPC
Kae Ti
right out front of the Carousel. Click on it and it gives 5x
Darkmoon Ride Ticket
,
which are different
from
Darkmoon Prize Tickets
. (You'll find them in your bag instead of listed under currency, and they are only good for the carousel ride - not for buying merchandise from DMF vendors). They are NOT soulbound & stack up to 200. So you can send the
Darkmoon Ride Ticket
to alts, and they do not disappear when the DMF leaves town.
The longer you ride the carousel, the longer the buff
WHEE!
will last. (Up to one hour). However, if you have time left on your buff and re-ride the carousel, it will refresh your buff without spending a
Darkmoon Ride Ticket
.
No: This does not stack with the buff from wearing the
Darkmoon Top Hat
.
No: This buff does not persist through death.
No: You do not lose the buff after the DMF ends if you log out in an inn.
Yes: This buff does help increase XP for pet battles.
Yes. This stacks with the level 3
Trading Post
(Increases reputation gain in Draenor by 20%)
Trademark Fortunes - 2 Hour Buffs
The NPC
Sayge
will give you your fortune (aka: the 2 hour buff) after you answer two questions. Each buff is determined on how you answer his questions:
Dark Fortune of Agility
- Agility increased by 10%: (Answers 3&3)
Dark Fortune of Armor
- Armor increased by 10%: (Answers 1&3, or 4&3)
Dark Fortune of Damage
- Damage increased by 1% to 10%: (Answers 1&1)
Dark Fortune of Intelligence
- Intelligence increased by 10%: (Answers 2&2, or 4&1)
Dark Fortune of Resistance
- Magical resistances increased by 25: (Answers 1&2, or 2&3)
Dark Fortune of Spirit
- Spirit increased by 10%: (Answers 2&1, or 4&2)
Dark Fortune of Stamina
- Stamina increased by 10%: (Answers 3&1)
Dark Fortune of Strength
- Strength increased by 10%: (Answers 3&2)
This can be completed as often as you want cooldown permitting, per toon, per DMF. (Cooldown is about 4 hours of played time, so you have to be online for it to eradicate.)
These buffs will disappear when you enter a dungeon or a raid!
Note: Tell Sayge you want your written fortune after you answer the two questions and he'll give you a
Darkmoon Faire Fortune
. If you happen to get
Sayge's Fortune #23
,
Sayge's Fortune #25
, or
Sayge's Fortune #27
smile! Because you now have a quest for extra loot!
Sayge's Fortune #23
will give you

"Travel to the Eastvale Logging Camp in Elwynn Forest and seek out your fortune."
Reward:
Mysterious Lockbox
Sayge's Fortune #25

Some battle pets come in a variety of qualities, skins, and breeds. Others have only one quality*, skin, and/or breed.
Quality can be poor, common, uncommon, or rare. Skin is how the pet looks. Breed is how much Health, Power, and Speed the pet has. Typically, wild pets have more variety.
*You can upgrade a battle pet's quality with battle-stones. A
Polished Battle-Stone
will upgrade a pet to uncommon, and a
Flawless Battle-Stone
will upgrade a pet to rare.
Click here for more quality clarity
Each time a pet levels, it's stats (Health, Power, and Speed) are increased. The amount of this increase depends on the quality of the pet.
Poor quality pets have their stats increased by 1
Common quality pets have their stats increased by 1.1
Uncommon quality pets have their stats increased by 1.2
Rare quality pets have their stats increased by 1.3
Note: It doesn't matter at what level you capture or upgrade a pet. Stats are standard at level 25, and the percentage of Health, Power, and Speed is determined by breed.
Click here for more breed clarity
Here's a break down of minimum stats by percentage:
H=Health, P=Power, S=Speed, B=Balanced
H/H 100% Highest health 20/0/0
P/P 100% Highest power 0/20/0
S/S 100% Highest speed 0/0/20
H/P 45% Health, 45% Power -> (High health, High power, Average speed) 9/9/0
P/S 45% Power, 45% Speed -> (Average health, High power, High speed) 0/9/9
H/S 45% Health, 45% Speed -> (High health, Average power, High speed) 9/0/9
H/B 45% Health, 20% Power, 20% Speed -> (High health, Balanced power & speed) 9/4/4
P/B 20% Health, 45% Power, 20% Speed -> (High power, Balanced health & speed) 4/9/4
S/B 20% Health, 20% Power, 45% Speed -> (High speed, Balanced health & power) 4/4/9
B/B 25% Health, 25% Power, 25% Speed -> (Balanced health, power, & speed) 5/5/5
Note #1: There honestly isn't a "better" breed. It all depends on what & how you battle, and that particular pet's role in a particular team. Sometimes you want to outlast the opponent (go for health), sometimes you want to strike first or set up defense (go for speed), or sometimes you want a heavy hitter (go for power).
Note #2: The average ratio between health and power is about 5 to 1. So, health and power balance each other out each 5th round (roughly). So if you think the battle will last under 5 rounds, power could be more important. If you think the battle will last over 5 rounds, you may consider health instead. (Don't underestimate the importance of speed in this mix either. There have been plenty of pet battles I have won by having the first hit on the last round.)

Behold, My Friend: THE DARKMOON FAIRE!
About The Author
I haven't played WoW for a very long time. (Since March 2012, I'm a Cata baby!) However, I immediately got hooked on the Darkmoon Faire. I thought it was neato that I was playing a game inside a game. (Playing the mini-games, while playing WoW). I'm also one of those "explore everything" kind of people, so knowing the DMF was only available for a limited time, I went a bit bonkers with it. Pets & mounts are another passion of mine. It all started when I won the
Reins of the Drake of the North Wind
. After that I became a serious collector, and really enjoy the dragon pets & mounts.
Definitely Deserved Thank Yous: First a huge thank you to my friends and family for proof reading this a zillion times and providing valuable constructive feedback. Without them I'm sure this wouldn't be as complete. Secondly, a big fat thank you to SquireKel who wrote Guide Writing for Dummies. (You saved me hours of bashing my head against the wall trying to figure out code!) Lastly I'd like to thank everyone who took the time to rate and comment this guide. Throughout the growth process of this project, there have been numerous constructive comments with valuable feedback. All of which helped to shape this guide into what it is today. And I am very grateful for that! (So please keep the comments & ratings coming!)
All in all, this was a challenging experience that has become intrinsically rewarding. My aspiration is that this guide will help loads of people understand and enjoy the Darkmoon Faire as much as I have. I look forward to it each month, and with the help of this guide, hopefully you will too!

Hey mate! Thank you ALOT for this guide. :)
I have one doubt tho, if each Daily Quest reward is only 1 Ticket, how do you say the total of the daily quests is 35 tickets?
Thank you! :)

Ah! For the total days! Gotcha! I recently started playing WoW again (quit before Naxxramas), and my friend showed me the awesome Heirloom items for leveling, and by chance I stumbled upon them on the DFM, so I'm grinding tickets to get em. :)
Don't think I will make it this fair tho. :S
We'll see. :)
Thank you very much again.
Edit: What are the requirements to be able to challenge the pet master, btw?
Edit2: I removed the first buff from sayge by right clicking and he doesnt give a second one, he tells me to return several hours later.

Simple guide for those who are starting Darkmoon Faire. This is the first guide I have given a 5 rating to. Added bit that makes this guide special to me is that author took time to edit screen shots and overlayed 'paintshop' marks.
..And lets face it, if were taking the time to look up a guide rather then playing we want it idiot proof so we can spend the most time playing.
Thanks for the nice guide

Awesome guide, thanks!
I think now that Den Mother Moonfang is up around every hour, the easiest way to get dead in order to talk to ghosts - if you don't mind waiting the hour - is to go to this fight and stand in fire. I get bored waiting to drown. :) (On a PvP server you probably don't even have to bother standing in fire since you will be flagged by the time you get to the boss.)
A suggestion: you might clarify that the 145 total possible tickets per week is lower for lower level toons: 25 less (120) for toons under 85 (because of the two artifact quests that require level 85), another 3 less (117) for toons 15-19 (because you can't train Archaeology until 20) and it's much lower for a toon under 15 (because none of the artifact quests are available - I think it will be 62, but I'm not sure if there are any other limits that apply at low levels). I'm sure you're planning to add that it will be 155 with the Moonfang's Pelt quest, but that also will only be for 85+.
Some people have said you can get an extra 5 if DMF starts at, say, midnight, but daily quest reset is at 03:00, and you do the mini-game quests during that brief time on the first morning. But I don't know if that is still possible. I think they might have made DMF start at daily quest reset time now.

Very good guide. But for the quest It's Hammer Time you have "Baby", "Horse", and "Hogger". The joke is that the game is Whack-A-Gnoll (a.k.a. Whack-A-Mole IRL). So it's a baby gnoll, common gnoll and Hogger (awesome gnoll). Though now that you point it out the in-game puppets do look like horses...
Edit: now that GamerSmoosh has updated the images this note is now just for historic purposes. Still a great guide!

Amazing guide. I've been gone from WoW for a chunk of time, and when I came back I come to learn that Darkmoon Fair was completely reworked. I couldn't of been more lost, although thanks to this I have a pretty good idea of what to do, and it covers just about everything there is to do.

FYI, as long as you have the Whee Buff, you don't consume tickets to the Carousel. So if you keep the buff from Faire to Faire, you'll only need 1 ticket. Also, you can stack
暗月奖券
<--those on one character by sending all your
暗月游戏奖品
to one character ;) i.e You can get like 55+ per day on one guy if you have max realms, if your really pushing hard you can get 110 items on day 2! Also you can save
暗月大礼帽
for after DMF, by not looting them from the boxes, as long as you keep them in the box, they won't disappear, but when you do take them out, normal rules apply, disappear if logged out, or die while using. A change happened at some point, now the Top Hats are only usable during DMF no more stashing 50 when its over to keep the buff.

I have my eye on several items for sale at the Darkmoon Faire using Darkmoon tickets. I am wondering what level is required to get into the faire? I don't have to spell out what I am thinking. Unfortunately, the faire just ended so I can't test out my theories. I am trying to maximize the number of tickets I can get. I already know the "Darkmoon Game Prize" is not bound and can be sent to my other chars. I am sure there is something that would stop me from doing what I am thinking of doing. It can't be that easy, can it? I think I can create 11 chars on a single realm. You do the math. So, just tell me what is wrong with my theory so I can move on to other things.
Thanks

Very well done guide. I use it as a reminder every time I go to the faire. I do have one thing you might want to add in way of explanation.
Profession Quest
Archeology
Yes, you can buy crates from the MOP spirit of harmony vendor, it takes 3 spirits to purchase one crate. It may take more than one crate to get the 15 fragments needed for the quest. Additionally, if your archeology is not 600 you can not trade the box in to Brann Bronzebeard - it requires 600 lvl archeology.

I think the guide needs a small update concerning the Darkmoon Faire Mystic Mages who can teleport you to the portal. The guide simply says that they can be found in all major cities, but I'm searching all around Darnassus and I can't find one anywhere. Have they been changed/removed in one of the recent patches, I wonder? EDIT: I couldn't find a Mage anywhere in Darnassus, so I went to the Temple of the Moon, jumped through the portal to The Exodar, and found a Mage nearby. That's probably the quickest way to Darkmoon Isle from Darnassus now.

My valor points were just spent upgrading my mains gear (and I didnt really know the importance of BOA gear) but a guildmate suggested I go purchase BOA gear from the Faire with prize tickets! Who would have thought.. anyway Thanks for the guide.

"Firebird's Challenge" is mentioned among the achievements. But not among the daily quests.
So, 6 quests per day for 7 days nets 42 tickets.

Nice. Does anyone know if Blizzard plans to fix the bugs? 1) Firebird - a) go through ring, no credit given b) quest stops before time has expired (early slow fall) 2) Whack a Gnoll - a) stunned even though hit a gnoll or hogger 3) Target Turtle - a) the turtle doesn't "wander" on it's new path; appears to be too amped from doing meth. I could go on, but I think I'll just go.

If you're playing on a free account, it may be worth your while to do
all
the profession quests.
It can take a while, since you have to level each one up to 75 to do the quests, only to drop the profession afterward and pick up a new one. However, if you finish every single one (not including Archaeology) you'll have a total of 53 tickets out of the quests instead of the 20 that the guide suggests.

First of all, Kissashark, cudos for a great guide. A real help for all that wants to get most out of the DMF.
To add to your guide, there is great news for all that are hunting for tickets! (free accounts too!)
There now is a new quest available that has a 100 ! tickets reward.
When at the Faire you first need to fish 100 darkmoon daggermaw's.
With a 100 % droprate it will take you about 20 minutes to catch them. Sometimes when you're lucky you catch a bloated thresher, that will give you a lot of gold and 6 or 10 darkmoon daggermaws when opened.
With the 100 darkmoon daggermaws you can buy a 'Faded treasure map" at the npc 'Galissa Sundew" .
She can be found in the stand with the fishing trainer on the boardwalk on the DMF.
With the map you can start a quest, called Silas' Secret Stash'.
The quest wants you to find 5 clues, all to be found on the Darkmoon island.
At the end you will get a treasure, that, when opened, will give you some elixers AND, yeeh, 100 tickets!
Make sure to open the treasure first before ending the quest. I ve read that if you finish first, you only get the elixers.
Don't know for sure, because I didn't dare to try ;-)
For an exact whereabout of the clues, just search for the quest on this site. For a map see the comment by 'Vainio' , click his link for a 'visual aid'
Good luck and enjoy hunting for clues ;-)
Oh, and the quest is NOT account bound, so you can do it on all chars ;-)
And extra note, for the fourth clue, when you are on the entrance road from the portal to the faire going down, just after you pass the npc with the 2 striders, you first get an arrow pointing left, then one pointing right, and just after that, when the road bends to the right, on your right is an DMF banner, reddish. Step of the road there and below that banner you'll find the fourth clue burried in some dirt.

Instead of saying the portal is "Just Outside" of Thunderbluff, have it say its Just Southwest of Thunderbluff so people like myself don't have to fly around the city looking for it. Coords are 36,35 by the way.

To complete the profession quests requiring crafting items, they must be in your bags.

(the other is
火绒幼犬
who does not have a strong elemental attack. However he is great against
斯奎特
with
猎取
being the only skill i could find to replace
横扫
from the
魔法扫帚
).
Anyways my goal was to find Cheap Reliable Replacements for both Darkmoon Faire Pet Masters that are consistent with 2 pet strategies so you can level a pet if you want. Pro Tip use an Alt that you are leveling slowly and they will get decent experience and you can log out after the 2 Pet Battles so you can preserve your Pet XP Buff Food for most of the week. You will need
次级宠物糕点
,
宠物糕点
,
机械熊猫人幼龙
,
炽焰猎犬
S/B & P/B Preferred, P/P can work but has more variance due to being slow and taking way more damage than the other breeds,
座狼幼崽
, &
符文熔铸侍从
. Make sure all 4 pets are level 25 and are Rare Quality.
I always start with
杰里米·费舍尔
to level my pet from 1 to 14 (with food buffs) so they can take a hit in the next Daily.
杰里米·费舍尔
(This awards 5
暗月奖券
)
Slot 1:
机械熊猫人幼龙
(Moves:
吐息
,
雷霆之箭
,
诱饵
)
Slot 2:
炽焰猎犬
S/B & P/B Preferred, P/P can work but has more variance (Moves:
黑曜石之咬
,
狂乱
,
烈焰之犬
)
Slot 3: Leveling Pet (no damage will be taken so you can use any pet @ any level you like)
审判
1:
吐息
2:
诱饵
(this will give you a free attack as well as sometimes blocking
爆目
which can cause this strategy to fail)
3:
吐息
(Use this until
审判
Dies. With luck 3 strong hits will kill him, 4 on average though)
叮当坦克
1:
雷霆之箭
(While this does good damage it is more important to sometimes absorb
震慑
25% to stun)
2: Switch to
炽焰猎犬
3:
狂乱
4:
烈焰之犬
5:
黑曜石之咬
until
叮当坦克
Dies
菲兹维克
1: Immediately swap to your Leveling Pet (Fezwick will always use
痛殴
which is a 100% Stun)
2: Swap to
机械熊猫人幼龙
3:
雷霆之箭
(
香蕉弹幕
makes
诱饵
pointless)
4:
吐息
until your
机械熊猫人幼龙
Dies (Normally only able to get 1 attack off)
5a: Swap to
炽焰猎犬
S/B or P/B use
狂乱
. Now use
烈焰之犬
Hopefully
菲兹维克
's HP is low enough that this will finish him.
5b: Swap to
炽焰猎犬
P/P and use
烈焰之犬
Hopefully
菲兹维克
's HP is low enough that this will finish him. This breed is slower than the others and will barely have enough HP to cast this, thankfully this breed hits hard enough that it can still win though. It is possible to die here or fail to kill
菲兹维克
with this breed.
The second daily with
克里斯托弗·冯·费舍尔
will level your Level 14 Pet from earlier to level 20. I personally always use stones to finish off the last 5 levels either 1
邪能战斗训练石
or 5
无瑕战斗训练石
.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
克里斯托弗·冯·费舍尔
(This awards 10
暗月奖券
)
Slot 1:
座狼幼崽
(Moves:
乱舞
,
蜷伏
,
缭乱之舞
)
Slot 2:
符文熔铸侍从
(Moves:
旋紧发条
,
增压
, Any)
钢铁星弹
also works but he is a quest reward and is pricey is comparison.
Slot 3: Leveling Pet (needs at least 160hp)
希德
1:
缭乱之舞
2:
蜷伏
3-6:
乱舞
(use this until
蜷伏
is off cooldown)
7:
蜷伏
(This is really important, Even if you could kill
希德
with another
乱舞
you need to absorb
湍流旋涡
so that it doesn't kill
座狼幼崽
after
尖头先生
comes out. If it does then
尖头先生
will use
三角护盾
instead of attacking and will get an extra attack on the
符文熔铸侍从
which will cause this strategy to fail.
8-9:
乱舞
(May take 2 attacks, this should kill
希德
) However with really bad luck it is possible to fail to kill
希德
in which case you have to restart. This only happened to me once out of around 15 completions.
尖头先生
1:
缭乱之舞
(This Buff is critical and this strategy won't work without it)
座狼幼崽
should die here
2: Swap to
符文熔铸侍从
3:
旋紧发条
4:
增压
5:
旋紧发条
(This will kill
尖头先生
)
奥图
1: Swap to your Leveling Pet (Needs at least 160hp or 240hp if Flying)
2: Swap back to
符文熔铸侍从
3:
旋紧发条
4:
增压
(normally
符文熔铸侍从
dies here and procs the Mechanical Passive)
5:
旋紧发条
(Thanks to
缭乱之舞
,
符文熔铸侍从
is Faster than
奥图
and gets to go first killing him)

Since the Shadowlands pre-patch released, it appears that the developers have reduced/removed the level requirements for use of these artefacts. Good news for alts and lower-level characters.

20 Tickets From Profession Quests
You'll need a skill of 75+ (and remember to train Professional Journeyman at skill 50 for your profession).
If you're max level, you'll get gold as a reward instead of what's listed here.
These can be completed once per toon, per DMF.
I haven't seen this added to the comments and I'm not sure when this changed but you can do all the profession quests after only learning the profession, you no longer need any particular skill level (ie 75). So I just learn two primary professions, I go and do the DMF quests, drop the professions and learn two more until they are finished for the month.
