This is the new Payload-style Battleground! If you've ever played Team Fortress 2 you know what this is about, but those who haven't - there are carts that you have to push to the end of the tracks. Who owns it is based on how many people of a faction are by it. It'll always keep moving.
To win, make sure that you're always standing near the cart! You'll see a big red, blue or white circle, stand in that!

Also: the rails branch. You can pull a switch to control which branch the cart will go down -- which is a multi-second channel and thus can be interrupted. One branch may be shorter than the other (long-term income at greater risk vs. quick payoff for reaching the end). Or one branch may be more accessible to one team than the other, depending on graveyards or where players happen to be on the map.

There are three different tracks leading from where the carts spawn in the center of the map. Your team must keep more players than the opposing faction in the area of the cart to maintain control of the cart. These carts move faster or slower depending on the number of players near the cart. The tracks that go east and west each have a control switch that you can use to make the cart take a different route, this can be used to get a quicker pay off or a larger long term pay off as well as using it if the enemy has the cart and it is using the faster route you can switch the route to take longer until reinforcements arrive.

This map is noticably Biased towards the horde for the three following reasons
Please do not just downvote me. Actually reply
1: Ergonomics. Due to horde spawning from the bottom spawn area, they are instantly capable of reaching the bottom cart much faster than alliance. As a result alliance must dominate two fair fights to win while one is nearly hopeless
2: Starting rail modes: Rail modes go down, down favors horde just slightly more.
3: Second alliance entrance: The shorter alliance entrance is noticeably crooked, making exciting slightly harder. this may not sound like much, but when you have to check the map, turning is far harder.

Fun fact: If you have a track humanoid ability(Hunter,Druid), then you'll see a dot go by on your minimap labled "Harrison Jones". Look up, and you may see him riding a mine cart on the tracks above, a reference to a scene in an Indiana Jones movie. You can also see a Hozen on a cart.

Absolutely the worst BG Blizz has ever made... the design is obtusely geared towards Horde, *(the 2 short tracks are closest to horde Spawn, and the Longest Track only gets LONGER for Alliance)
the Supposed Short cut to tie the 2 longest tracks together... so instead of going north track you can take the short cut to get the the Mid Track *(2nd Longest track in the BG) which you're given a short track to Kill horde... if they haven't already spawned and Came back to redefend Mid tracks Cart that's slowly being taken over by alliance!
This BG is a blatant statement made by Blizzard that Horde is the Favored

Blizz actually listened to everyone's complaints and made the map 'fair', the lava cart now doesn't spawn until the gates open and it literally takes alliance and horde the same amount of time to get there if not a millisecond less for alliance since an alliance player usually gets there right before hordies can.
However, for some reason, alliance still can't seem to win this BG. I have been there multiple times on both my horde toon and alliance alt (helping guildies with their legendary cloak crap) and it still seems that horde wins it 95% of the time. I'm sure they'll complain about the fact that top cart is the longest track and that's the one they're closest to and blah blah blah, but the fact of the matter is there is no law saying alliance has to go top. Alliance can actually get to water/mid cart just as fast as horde can, I have seen it done more than once.
The 5% of the time alliance wins this BG it's usually because they control top and water and keep those two under control the whole BG. Yes, top may be the longest track but you get points for the amount of time you control a cart, not just for capping it. So longer track = more points per track and cap. Also it takes only a second or two longer for water to cap than it does lava so even if the other team keeps control of lava the whole game and chain caps it with the shortest track, there is no way to win unless you control one of the other tracks.

If there's still some problem on winning this on Alliance then here is something about the points.
1 Point / Second and 150 Points / Capture
The middle cart has one track and can not be changed. It takes 2 minutes for that cart to reach the cap point. Complete middle cart trip will give 270 points (150 for the cap and 120 points for 120 seconds if you manage to hold it).
The East / Lava cart can have either the longest or shortest route, the default route takes it to the lava capture point, this trip grants 240 points (150 cap+90 points if you hold the cart the entire time)
The long route ends up being 370 points at 3 minutes and 40 seconds, more than twice as long as the short route
The West, or top cart, takes 3 minutes to reach it's shortest destination, this trip grants you 330 points (150+180). If the switch is flipped, the cart heads North East and gives 370 points but takes 3 minutes and 40 seconds.
Anyone can change the tracks, it takes a few seconds and you do not need to control the cart. So even 1 man can change things !

This bg is absolutely impossible for Alliance to win. I took a day off work to do the legendary quest with the buff up (finish off 3000/300 valor, then all lfrs for secrets of the empire) but got stuck on this part. After losing 5 silvershard mines solo queueing, I asked for help in trade - was willing to pay (1k) for a bg carry. But even with help from multiple 550 "pvp heroes" (including full premades) it was pointless. Eventually I said that volunteers had to pay me 1k that would be added to the prize money if they lost - compensation for wasting my time. The prize pool got to 54k AND STILL VICTORY WAS ELUSIVE. In the end, I gave up (my internet began lagging). After browsing on the web to see if anyone else had this problem, I found out that you can pass the legendary quest by setting up a wargame. That's how I eventually passed this part of the questline.
So tldr version: don't bother trying to win this bg as alliance. Set up a wargame and win trade among fellow players.
As an aside: you can clearly see this bg is unwinnable by the map layout. It's clear proof that Blizzard is horde-biased and has been indoctrinated by Metzen. It's inevitable that Alliance players (being mostly right-handed) will take the right-hand path at the start, giving up control of the centre of the map and 2/3 mine carts right off the bat. But wait there's more: the right mine cart takes so long to reach the end that the horde can finish up their carts first, rally up come back and seize the right cart as well. So in the first 2 minutes it is INEVITABLE that horde claim 3 mine carts, demoralize alliance players and most quit/afk for easy honor. After this point victory becomes impossible. Let us not even broach the subject of overpowered horde racials. In even completely balanced settings, their racials (ridiculous orc pet damage and cc immunity, etc.) are enough to grant them world first raid boss kills over the alliance. What do you think happens when the map is also biased against Alliance. 0.000000000% chance recurring of Alliance victory as Leeroy would say.
