What makes Balance special
: Use the power of the Sun and Moon to deal damage to foes from afar. Balance can call stars to fall on all your enemies, or burn your enemies with the power of the Sun.
: Balance Druids use
as their resource for all their spells. Healing spells still cost Mana but be careful since Balance Druids have a smaller mana pool than healer classes.
: Balance Druids have either
for mobility as well as
in Cat Form
: Balance Druids have two DoTs
which can be amplified by
to deal massive damage to targets.
is a great defensive tool on a short cooldown. If Guardian Affinity is taken, a Balance Druid will also passively take 6% less damage.
allows us to greatly increase our Health Pool.
allows us to have some of the highest armor rating among all classes and specializations.
Balance druids excel at spells and ability outside their regular damage rotation - they are the quintessential hybrid with tons of raid utility. Like all druids, they have the ability to shapeshift - a unique mechanic.
Balance druids are able to use the other shifts depending on talents and can choose to either strengthen their healing, survivability, or melee damage
Balance druids are strong in AOE situations with instant dots and
Druids can travel quickly without a mount using
--on land, in water, or in the air.
When shapeshifted, they have striking fur combinations for every hair color in Bear and Cat form. These have received model updates in Legion!
Druids have the special zone
they can teleport to for training, which is filled with Druidic lore.
They have many vanity glyphs including

They can equip the legendary weapons

Changes in Patch 7.3.2
There are no major changes in 7.3 for Balance Druids, just the usual hotfixes and tuning.
(Artifact trait) damage bonus per stack reduced to 6% (was 25%).
damage increased by 8%.
damage increased by 8%.
The "major" nerf to Wax and Wane was to end a particular playstyle Blizzard deemed "regressive." There a build that focused on using
as your primary filler during AOE situations. The damage differences between the standard AOE build and this build were quite small, but definitely meaningful in situations with 2-3 targets. This nerf is directed at this playstyle, but its affect may be felt primarily in PVP and mid-level Mythic+ dungeons. The nerf's affect towards raiding is practically none when it comes to DPS performance.
I'm a raider, does this nerf effect me?
-- Almost nobody played this build, yet alone knew about it. You'll be fine, keep doing what you're doing.
Tier 20 set:
Starsurge and Starfall increase your Haste by 2% (down from 3%) for 20 sec. Stacks up to 4 (down from 5) times, but gaining a stack does not refresh the duration.
Changes in Patch 7.2.5
had its damage bonus to
reduced to 50%, down from 60%. (~2% AOE damage nerf on most raid encounters.)
has been increased by ~11%. (~4% single-target damage buff on most raid encounters.)
has been changed to reduce the cost of Starsurge by 5
per stack (down from 7). In addition, the duration has been increased to 5 seconds (up from 3).
In the past, Blizzard had wanted to change this item's effect to be easier to play around. The primary reason to not change it, at the time, was because Balance Druid gameplay was rather simple -- and this effect was both difficult and rewarding to play. Part of the reason to change it now is because the old effect (3 sec duration) made it very difficult to use, and mostly due to latency. As you may have come to learn, dropping your stacks due to latency wasn't exactly the best of feelings. As a comprise the 5sec duration is very easy to play around (100% uptime on the bonus) and because the effect isn't as large, the "penalty" for dropping stacks isn't as harsh. Haste breakpoints still exist (25% Haste recommended, changed from before (31%)). The delta between player skill and performance/DPS output has been reduced.
Top-Tier players will notice a very small damage loss with this change.
If you struggled with this item's playstyle in the past, you will notice a fair buff to your damage. You should be able to keep up with even the best players...in terms of "getting the most out of the item."
Legendary Items added
- Potentially our most useful legendary item. (Not the biggest damage boost, but has the most positive impact overall.)
- Fills a niche role and takes up a tier slot. It's good, but not great.
