Gear and Stat Prioritization
As a warrior you'll be looking at plate gear with strength as your primary stat.
Secondary stat priorities
Critical Strike: Increases auto-attack rage generation.
Haste: Compresses the rotation by reducing the GCD and the cooldown of the rotational abilities Mortal Strike, Focused Rage and Cleave.
Mastery: Increases the direct damage and damage bonus of Colossus Smash.
Versatility: Increases damage and reduces damage taken.
While gearing up in
, Mastery remains on top across the board. Haste is an overall weaker stat, but can have a pronounced effect on DPS at various breakpoints due to adding extra GCDs during
. It is not worth actively pursuing at the expense of Mastery, but should be taken in addition to whenever possible to work toward said breakpoints. Versatility is decent, but Critical Strike is very minor, and shouldn't be actively sought after.
From the start, you may only equip one Legendary item. Once the Order Hall advancement is complete, a second may be worn as well. While ultimately the decision on which to use will be based on what is personally available, given the choice, prioritize
for single target, or
for multiple targets.

greatly increases mobility, and could be useful on some raid encounters, or in conjunction with
adds additional self-healing, which is lacking for Arms before gaining the
artifact trait. While the rate of healing is low, and not particularly suited for raid content, it's great for sustaining combat against powerful individual foes when doing any kind of solo or open world content.
contributes a strong survivability boost on a relatively short cooldown.
fun for getting around, but not a particularly useful bonus given how much mobility Arms already has. Double dips with Battle Cry and Heroism/Bloodlust, adding a lot of move speed during those effects.
- Increases the duration of Battle Cry by 2 sec.
- Mortal Strike and Execute critical strikes have a 10% chance to reset the cooldown on Colossus Smash.
The two piece is incredibly lackluster, however it's made up for by the four piece increasing the duration of Arm's important burst damage window during Battle Cry.

There are a
of useful trinkets in Legion. On-use trinkets are ideal due to the ability to stack cooldowns for large bursts of damage.
The approximate ranking of trinkets, item level being equal, is:
Note: These rankings are a work in progress and subject to change. Results may vary depending on individual gear, stats, artifact investment, and specific trinket combinations used.
Nighthold BiS List
This is a general recommendation for gearing in Nighthold. Keep in mind that with Warforged/Titanforged and Legendaries, this list may not be applicable to all players. Higher ilevel items are often better, even if their stat allocation isn't optimal.
Finding Gear on Wowhead
From simple recommendations to advanced filters, Wowhead can help you find the gear you want.
is a great way to search for gear if you are new to Wowhead's filtering system.
Choose what item category, gear slot, and class specialization you're interested in, and it will return results for you. You can further narrow it down by source--including gear from LFR and heroic dungeons.
You can find the Item Finder via Tools > Item Finder or Database > Items > Item Finder.
returns personalized gear suggestions for you and shows which content has the most upgrades.
Simply load up the
with you preferred character and it will list gear recommendations in a 20 ilvl range for you. It will also list how many gear upgrades each boss has so you can plan out bonus rolls. Finally, the character planner will perform an audit and let you know if you have any missing enchants, glyphs, or gems.
If you have a character in our
which is great for tracking vanity collections and viewing your character in our 3D modelviewer, you can click on the "Planner" button in the header to access the tool. If you don't, you can just enter your information in at Tools > Character Planner.
Wowhead utilizes a powerful system of item filters to narrow down the gear you need.
, you can enter in some basic options at the top--the name of the item, its item level, the level the players needs to be. The "Usable by" dropdowns cover factions, class, and role.
The dropdown menu right above "Stat Weights" opens to display a variety of advanced options. These cover the following:
General item info such as Added in Expansion/Patch, BoE/BoP, Unique-Equipped, Class-Specific.
Stats: All primary stats, secondary stats, defensive stats, and weapon stats.
Source: All in-game sources, ranging from raid difficulties to the Black Market Auction House to sold by a vendor.
Miscellaneous: Many of these filters are not relevant to equippable gear such as Crafting Reagents and Toys, but you can filter for items that are currently obtainable.
Once you've selected a filter from the menu, click on Apply filter for search results. You can repeat the process to filter for multiple criteria at once--for example, Agility gear that is found in Mythic Foundry.
Over on the right-hand side of the page, you can select a particular Gear Slot or Quality to narrow results even further.
Finally, you can quickly view a subset of items at once using the Database Menus. Head to Database > Items and mouseover the Weapon and Armor options for quick links to gear arranged by armor type and slot.
