Its not bugged as i just completed this achievement.
All u need to do is keep 10 of the named adds alive untill the submerged phase ends and the boss is up.. Root, freeze.cyclone them in submerge phase. And kill them when the boss Emerged.
Easy done!

Did this achievement today.
How to do it:
once immerseus goes in to split phase and spawn sha puddles you need to cc this puddles for the entire phase,
once the split phase is over, the remaining sha puddles you have cc'd will transform in to Tears of the Vale they have very little HP and does not need to be tanked.
Note: you do not have to kill all 10 of them in the same phase, we did it in 2 split phases.

Few findings from my run:
The sha puddles are immune to Ring of Frost, Banish, Fear, and any other similar form of cc. They can be stunned, slowed, rooted and knocked back.
It may be wise to unequip legendary cloak, as single proc off on add can melt it.
After transformation, the new adds MUST be nuked ASAP. They are casting raid-wide aoe that can quickly overwhelm healers even on flex difficulty.
Boss still have enrage timer. You may not notice it on standard kills, but taking too many prolonged phases can end in wipe. Aim for 3-4 or 5 adds per phase.

Most CCs like Blind and Hunter Freeze traps don't work. We had the best luck with priests using Void Tendrils on groups that were clumped up together and a frost mage using novas and getting 2-3 adds per phase.

While I am sure that many toons have various moves that can help, I highly recommend bringing a few druids. Entangling Roots has a long hold time, low mana cost, does no damage, and has no CD. It is the
perfect
CC for this achievement. Just spread your three-four druids around, have them each hold one during each submerge while everyone else plays the fight normally, and then kill. Just make sure your other people aren't going to actually finish off the boss before you get to 10.

Shaman's Frost Shock didn't seem to help, but Grounding Totem and Thunderstorm work good, especially if you have reduced Thunderstorm CD from PvP gear.
Edit: Season 15 PvP gear

A good combo for this achievement is Death Knight, Priest, Druid. The Dk can Aoe grip 4-5 adds and then priest or Druid can use Void Tendrils/Mass Entanglement once they are grouped up. I don't suggest grouping more cause the aoe they deal is quite significant, especially if you are using a PuG. Repeat this 2-3 times and done.

This achievement is just so frustrating. I've already read that you're supposed to wait until after Immerseus emerges AND is attackable, and I did that with a group, but it still didn't count. We killed
14 tears

This is an interesting achievement, and is a little fussy, but totally doable, if you just stick to some quality tips!
What you're trying to do is to hold 10 or more sha blobs from reaching Immersius on his 6 or more Split phases. Normally, those sha blobs would merge with Immersius right before he reforms and becomes attackable again. But you don't want to do that for the achievement. Instead, root those sha, and when Immersius reforms, sha transform into a larger "Tear of the Vale" (which is a Lei-Shen-esque model with the new Mists of Pandaria elemental body style). The Tear of the Vale casts a "Cry" and is really, really cute. You probably won't want to kill it, but you can. You'll end up counting and killing all the Tears and when you hit 10 down, you can focus on Immersius and get through his many Split phases to victory!
Tips:
If you have an alt with better crowd control than your main, don't hesitate to bring it, or to switch around classes for better CC techniques! We got some great ideas here, including Survival hunter and Mage, and Priest's Tentacles talent. Pally Stun. Just know your class's abilities, because the hunter had to re-spec for this fight and the switch was exceptional.
Work in a pair. Your roots or slows will wear off, and your partner will come around and re-root the sha. This is highly valuable, because CC does not last forever. Your CC's will eventually time out and the sha will keep sliding away, and your partner will grab them. Tell your partner, I'll go first or you go first for clear communication so you don't use the CC at the same time. Even better, have a spare CC person whose job is to catch that pesky sha right before it does into Immersius.
Work in the back and count nameplates. Ideally, you have CC on to 3 sha
per pair
(in our group, we were able to get anywhere from 2 to 6 sha rooted per split). Ignore all other mechanics in the split phase, except rooting sha.
Let the sha remain unharmed until they form Tears. Briefly attack Immersius first; if you are NOT given an error message "You can't attack that target", then it is NOT time to kill the Tears. The Tears will cry and it's adorable, kill them, and then fight Immersius.
When you have counted 10 and one or two to ensure good measure, you WILL NEED to start dispatching those sha puddles and heal the corrupted turquoise sha. You have to do this, or you get more and more Splits and more mobs and at the 10 minute mark, Immersius enrages and you will die in about 1 second. Because often you will get all the Tears you need and blow the enrage timer.
Good luck!

There is a bug with this achievement. If you kill the tears before the boss becomes attackable and they start casting, it doesn't count. You have to wait until they start casting Cry, Cry, Cry.
Once our group figured that out, it was easy.

successfully soloed as a 717 guardian druid on 10N after several failed attempts in pugs where people did not understand what to do.
warning: this took me about 30 min, though I was playing extremely safe and playing optimally you could probably cut this down to 10-15m. this is not hard at all, just long. once i had the idea planned out i got it done in 1 try.
strategy:
-talents: wild charge/cenarion ward/mass entanglement/soul of the forest/mighty bash (replaceable, not used)/dream of cenarius/pulverize. mostly cookie cutter, mass entanglement is the main important one.
-the key part of this strategy is keeping blobs rooted during his berserk, even if you have already met the achievement criteria, in order to buy time for your offensive/defensive cds to come back up.
1) force the boss into his split phase
2) as the blobs are flying from the center, look for a cluster of 3-5 black ones relatively close together
3) as soon as they are active, immediately use Mass Entanglement on 1, then kill as many others as possible. you want to get the boss's health low for when he berserks, because he hits significantly harder and 2 stacks of his breath will likely oneshot you at that point without significant CDs.
3a) if 2 spawn right next to each other, you can use M.E. to root both, kill a bunch of other blobs, then as the root is about to wear off both, juggle Entangling Roots back and forth between the 2 until M.E. cd is back up in 10 seconds. this isn't necessary at all but will speed up the achievement criteria part. i actually got 3 during a single split phase once due to some good rng and some careful juggling.
4) keep blob(s) rooted until immerseus emerges again. the blob(s) will transform into Tears of the Vale.
do not kill them yet.
wait until they cast "Cry, Cry, Cry" then you are free to kill them. (you might have to taunt them or move near them for them to cast this, i don't know why this happens.) this is a bug many people here have commented on.
5) dps immerseus back into split phase. repeat steps 1-4.
6) boss will hit berserk after 3-4 split phases. at this point you want to be forcing him to split before his 2nd breath attack or else you could die without spending major CDs.
7) during his split phases, continue to make them last as long as possible. even if you've already gotten the achievement criteria, keep at least 1 blob rooted, because you're stalling for your berserk/tank ring/survival instincts/etc to come off CD.
8) keep repeating over and over until the boss is dead, collect achievement
like i said this is very easy, just takes some time. make sure you're tracking the achievement -- it will turn from red to white once you have properly killed 10 of the Tears of the Vale, meaning you are safe to kill the boss.
sorry for wordiness, might come back and edit this for clarity, otherwise hope someone finds this to be useful.

Few things:
1.
纠缠根须
is the best CC for this achievement. In this new patch the Mass version combined to the old one can take up to 3 bubbles at once. Just manage your spells.
2. You can't do this achievement in more runs anymore. You must do it in only one run.
3. Hit Immerseus, wait for "cry, cry, cry" and then kill the Tears.
4. Tip: don't use the achievement track system. It won't help since you need to kill immerseus after this phase, so it won't become white before it.
Hope to be usefull ^^
News: The achievement is currently bugged, even if you do all properly, it won't be assigned. You must open a ticket describing the issue. Did it today and they added it to my account.

Soloed this achievement on Normal on my hunter as Survival (803 ilvl). Time-consuming, but ultimately pretty easy - you don't need many artifact traits unlocked for Talonclaw to be able to do it (I did it with the default trait plus one point in Iron Talons).
On the split phases, I'd look for where two of the dark blobs were close together. I'd put a Tar Trap down just in front. Then, I'd spam Ranger's Net, alternating between the two blobs. You could probably try netting three at once, but I was being careful. When the boss emerges, set your pet to attack the boss and keep aggro, then wait until they cast Cry, Cry, Cry - when you see the cast bar, it's safe to kill them.
At this point, the boss is likely close to enrage. Once he turns red and scary, his normal melee doesn't hurt *too* bad but Corrosive Blast hits like a truck even at 110 (especially if you end up getting more than one stack of the debuff). I followed a set pattern after each emergence: right before he came up, I'd run in as close as possible to the boss. Then I'd use a /petattack macro to tell my pet to attack the boss as soon as he emerged, I'd feign to clear any aggro, and I'd run around the boss so I wasn't in front of him (to avoid Corrosive Blast). When he submerged, I'd note which direction the most black blobs were spawning, then I ran back out to the outer ring and would kill them as I ran in a clockwise or counter-clockwise direction (whichever had more). Rinse, repeat. By the time he got to 45 or so corruption left, I was able to nuke the boss down before he could cast Corroding Blast. Once you hit 10 corruption left, you win.
Few things to keep in mind:
Using a tank pet is best - the extra damage from ferocity isn't worth the extra survivability, especially once he hits enrage.
Put your pet on passive so it doesn't accidentally kill the blobs.
Don't forget to keep up Mend Pet (duh).
Save Exhilaration for healing your pet if it gets low during the enrage - you shouldn't be taking too much (if any) damage if you're doing things right, but early on in the enrage phase I found my pet getting low a few times.
Happy achievement hunting!
(As a side note, as of 9/11/2016 the achievement no longer appears to be bugged - it popped for me when the boss died.)

110 done in Balance Make sure to have mass entanglement and no neck enchant like Trained Soldier, it seems to randomly proc and kill the bubbles.
Mass entangled 2, rooted one when it expired, then rooted the other. By then the CD on mass was up so remass the 2 of them.
you dont need to kill them till you have 10 once they look like Le Shen (water element spirit)
I then aggroed all 10 (walking over them)
Once i had all 10 cry, cry, crying at me i killed all 10 and then worked on the boss.
871 geared, had to heal myself a few times but work out well.

It seems like on mythic, the puddles just despawn after a set amount of time, so it isn't possible for them to turn into Tears of the Vale. Not sure if this is a bug or intended.

Completed this on heroic with (2) resto druids and (1) rogue all level 110, ~850 ilvl.
When Immerseus submerges, use Mass Entanglement on as many black blobs as possible (usually the max group is 3) plus you can catch another with entangling roots. We spread out and got about 5 blobs per submerge, did it 3 times to be safe. (5 adds x 3 rounds = 15 adds total)
The submerge lasts for about 45 seconds so you have to refresh mass entangle/entangling roots on the blobs once (DO NOT DAMAGE THE BLACK BLOBS THAT ARE ROOTED). Once Immerseus rises again, the black blobs will transform into different looking mobs which then you can just kill immediately.
You need to kill 10 of these total before finally killing the boss for the achievement. (You don't have to kill all 10 adds in just one submerge, just in the same boss encounter).
Using 2 druids sped up the process and the rogue was able to DPS the boss down pretty quick in between submerges.
Important-ish points:
- I think this achiev was bugged on mythic for some reason as the submerge lasted about 3 seconds and the blobs just disappeared when Immerseus came back up, so they didn't turn into the other adds. Not sure what happened there but we just changed it to heroic and it worked fine (not to mention the AoE on mythic is still killer).
- If you have never done this boss fight before, basically you DPS him down to 0% health, and he will submerge. Black and blue blobs will spawn around the outside of the room. Normally black blobs have to be killed and blue blobs have to be healed to full (obviously for this achiev you won't be killing all the black blobs). Once the submerge is over, Immerseus will pop back up, and you will notice Immerseus' health and "mana" bar lower. Essentially you dps him down, get the blob phase again, and continue this until he is cleansed ("mana" bar = zero).
Hope this helps in 2017! Take care

Just solo'ed this today as a 110 Unholy dk. The range is sufficient enough that you can use a mixture of both chains of ice and death grip to keep the sha puddles away long enough for him to reform.
-Don't target the pools until juuust after they start to move. I'm not sure why, but sometimes simply clicking on them was enough to destroy them, without even having an offensive ability go off.
-Chains of Ice first, then Death Grip as far back as you can. Make sure to click off the puddle as it flies through the air so you don't autoattack it.
-Keep Chains of Ice rolling on the puddle until death grip can be used a second time.
-Rinse and repeat 10 times (make sure to keep track on your own somehow, because you don't want to do this twice)
-Finally, kill the boss. He'll likely have enraged by now, so make sure to use a Death Strike every now and then.

Not sure if this helps, but as a druid it was relatively easy.
I specced into Mass Entanglement. Which made things a lot easier.
Its a matter of seeing where the sha puddles land, and trying to get them in 3s.
With mass entanglement I would get 3 puddles together plus, Entaglment roots with a one root. Means you can roughly get 4 per every split. (Depending on how the puddles land.
Hopefully this helps.

Solo'd this as a guardian druid. Take the mass entanglement talent.
Also, turn on tracking. It will start red and turn white when you've killed enough adds and are ok to kill the boss.
For anyone who doesn't know the fight, you attack the boss and he goes into split phase and little blobs come out. You have to CC the Sha blobs and after 45 or 50 seconds they will turn into the things you need to kill for the achievement. If you watch the blobs when they jump out in the middle, you can see that some will get clumped together at times. I was able to do this in 3 splits, I got 2 on the first one - 3 on the second - and 5 on the last one (screenshot
http://puu.sh/B1fN8/0addafaf3d.jpg
)
If you see a large group is going to land near each other tiger dash/stampeding roar to that spot so you get as many as you can. Once you have enough, you can kill the boss.
How do you do that? I didn't know going in and had to bring up a video during the fight lol. The boss dies by kill those adds (the ones you CC for the achievement). So once you've killed enough adds and the achievement is white, start killing those adds during his split phase and he will die after a few rounds.

Allright so I just wanted to share...
Last week I took my 120 DK in to try to solo this. When Immerseus split, I would hit one slime with Chains of Ice (no longer does damage, I just learned) and keep it chained until it almost reached the edge, then I'd Death Grip it back. Chains, Chains, Chains, Death Grip again if necessary, then kill once transformed. I kept count of how many I killed in my head and didn't get the achieve. Sadface.
So I came back this week and did it again, but this time I made a note of how many I killed and was 100% sure I had exactly 10 when I switched modes and killed the boss. Still, no achievement.
In anger, I logged to my 110 Druid and specced for Mass Entanglement. On his first split, I managed to get 4 slimes. This time, after Immerseus re-emegred, I waited until he actually attacked me to kill the adds. On his next split I only got one, then 3, then 2 more for exactly 10. Then I killed the boss and got the achievement.
Tl;dr: Don't kill the adds right away after they transform, I had luck just waiting for Immerseus to attack first. Also, if you can do this with a Druid, do so, doing it with a DK can be done but it's a lot more effort doing this one slime at a time vs several.
Also the RaidAchievement addon seems completely useless for this achieve which surprised the hell out of me.

Welp... 5 tries (one to 9 before failing) and I managed to solo this as a 120 monk.
A few notes for fellow monks:
1. Don't bother stripping or messing around with rez sickness as even just looking sideways at the puddles will kill them.
2. The only CC we have that works is
Disable
. You have to double tap (on GCD) to root them. None of the rest of our CC does anything.
3. Because we can only root one at a time and you're bound to mess up a couple, you will almost definitely hit the enrage timer. Brewmaster is a good spec for this.
The real challenge of this is the positioning when you use disable. The way Disable works is that, immediately after casting (and I mean
immediately
), you auto-attack with will kill the slime. The only way to do it is to face at ~45 degree angle to a slime when they're being split out (dark swirlies on the outside of the room) and hit disable without the auto-attack landing. Because of a quirk where the auto-attack cone is narrower than Disable's, you can root without killing it. Then just keep spamming Disable when the timer on the second stack is 3/4 gone until he reforms.
As other posters have said, wait until the new mob starts casting 'Cry Cry Cry' and nuke it. Lather, rinse, repeat.
Tough but totally doable.

I just got this achievement on my first try with my 120 Unholy Death Knight. I only used two skills,
Chains of Ice
and
Death Grip
.
Basically, spam Chains of Ice on one slime for that sweet 70% movement speed, and when it is close to the pool, Death grip. Then do the same thing. After your second Death Grip, consider it a success because it will transform right away, based on my timing.
That's one down, nine more to go.
It is extremely important to avoid auto attacking the slime after Death Grip as it happened to me a lot of times. Make sure to de select it as soon as it lands. Also, track the achievement so it will show in the right side where the quests are displayed. Once the red text turns to white, then kill Immersus as painfully as you want it to be. And the enrage will not affect the achievement in any way so keep your patience up.
Good luck.

Something I didn't see people mention: you must
aggro
the Tears of the Vale in order to force them to cast "Cry! Cry! Cry!", otherwise they will just stay still doing nothing. After you got near them they'll start facing you, and a couple seconds later they are going to cast.
However, I had counted around 8 mobs killed after noticing the aggro thing, while other 2 I killed by accident, still after killing 10 the achievement turned from red to white on the tracker. So there is that.
Side note: I did this on an alt Druid lv 110, Normal difficulty, Mass Entanglement etc., as of patch 8.1.5.

For anyone saying this achievement is 'bugged' on Mythic, that's not the case. On Mythic, Immerseus' puddle grows both over time, and when any puddle touches it. What this means is that any puddle reaching the middle causes a domino effect where the puddle grows into all of the others, quickly making them all despawn and ending the phase. Or in simpler terms, doing this achievement is basically impossible on Mythic, but it's not bugged at all. Do it on normal or heroic instead!

Solo-Unholy DK 120
Just did it on
Mythic
after failing several times on
Heroic
-it was actually far easier for me, IDK why. (Probably because I had already banged my head so many times on heroic already.) I know some people said the
black Sha Puddles
too quickly turn into a giant pool on
Mythic
, but if you
focus on one at a time
, it is not an issue and you might be more successful overall. I only tried to deal with one at a time, which was time consuming, but more effective.
I found that the blobs ended up in the middle (thus disappearing) too quickly unless I stood as far back on the circular stone border around the very edges of the raid space as I could. Then, when the blobs flew out from
Immerseus
, I ran to the closest spot on the edge to a
BLACK Sha Puddle
blob (sometimes it was quite a run-it seemed like if I stayed in one spot too long, no blobs would spawn there eventually, not sure if coincidence.)
Immediately tagged a
BLACK Sha Puddle
blob after it landed with
Chains of Ice
and
turned my toon away ASAP
-they die really easily-and
spammed
Chains of Ice
till it got to edge of
Death Grip's
range/reach (vs letting it get almost to center, as others have posted they did,) spammed
CoI
again till
DG
off CD-I literally did this every four seconds versus watching the timer for the debuff on the mob-paranoid...,) then
Death Grip
again.
Chains of Ice
spam until the
Sha Puddle
transformed into
Tear of the Vale
. Then killed it, hit
Immerseus
gently (I used one
Death Coil
each time to engage his
Split
phase and the next set of blobs-it was always up after I killed the
Tear of the Vale
,) repeated 13 (successful) times to be safe lol.
The key was getting as close to the outer edges of the raid space as possible, and making sure to run away back to the edge, my toon's back turned to the blob, as it flew back to the edge for
Death Grip
to keep from hitting it accidentally, and not letting it get too close to the middle. (Unequipping weapon and toggling autoattack off did not prevent me from killing it if I was facing it.) Stay at a 45 degree angle when casting
Death Grip
and
Chains of Ice
, and run like hell away to the wall when the blob moves back. Pain in the bum, and a few
Sha Puddles
died here and there (they truly die if you so much as think a nasty thought about them,) but with patience, it's doable, even on Mythic.

Easiest way to get this done in 9.0 is to just have a druid spam mass entangle/entangle on the puddles. It has to be stopped for almost 40 seconds, so most of the other classes we had in the group slows/CCs weren't long enough or did damage. We waited for them to cast Cry, Cry, Cry once transformed just to be safe and killed.

2022 and STILL the bug exists on mythic where they just despawn when all the other adds have made it to the boss, but works fine on heroic.

Based on both experience and the comments above... if you don't have the ability to stop things from moving, you can't get this achievement. Fear etc. doesn't work; you need some sort of knock-back, ice block, or entangling roots. Some classes don't have this type of ability, thus they cannot complete the achievement. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Boss was up and actively attacking before I started attacking the Tears.

These old achievements are just plain frustrating to get. Nothing else to do except level alts and do the same stuff on current content I guess. I'm sure Blizz has 0 intentions on fixing these.

Super easy with druid with mass entanglement. Cast it twice on clusters of puddles and then run into the tears of the vale to get them to aggro and start casting before you kill them, and you should be able to finish it in 2 splits.
