Quite hard achievement to get, as the emerald drakes are the "healers" on the fight. Maybe coming with 5 ambers and trying to burn him down as fast as possible would be the best alternative.

mrgamer
in the beta, the dragons could also be healed from a player healer
so i suppose you can also go 2 tanks/2 bronze and leave the healer of the party without dragon, so he can *still* heal, dunno if that's intended tho!

Imo, doing it without healers is probably the hardest variation of this achievement (there are also do it without ember drakes (red), and do it without amber drakes (bronze)).
However, being a fight that's totally separate from gear dependencies and all comes down to skill and coordination, it's an achievement that can be aimed for straight away.
Imo, the best setup would be 4 amber drakes (dps) and 1 ember drake (tank). The ember drake pickes up Eregos and builds aggro, making sure to swap targets to the whelps when they spawn, as the fire attack chains and increases in damage as it goes along targets - meaning if Eregos is the last hit, he'll take more damage. The amber drakes simply dps, and use a time stop rotation calling it out over vent or through a macro to bring it up in party. Afaik it does indeed suffer diminishing returns, so it seems best to go one time stop, another time stop, let the ember drake get hit (to use evasivenss) and martyr (to prevent the bronze drakes taking damage), then one time stop, the another time stop, and continue this rotation. The ember drake shouldn't be taking much damage as he'll only be getting one attack successfully made against him every 30 odd seconds.
This is how I'd try it for my first attempt at this achievement. It just so happens that Occulus is my server's heroic daily today. Hoping for the best!

My group got this today by using 5 amber drakes. It's somewhat a matter of luck - whether he gets many whelp spawns off between stuns (you can only use 3 in a row because of diminishing returns) but it is doable. Took us awhile though.

Completed this today using one Ruby Drake, three Amber Drakes and a Paladin healing from one of the platforms. Took four or five tries.

We just completed this. Took us about 10 tries as we played with the strategy, but we got it.
Here was our strategy:
1 - Have a priest with improved fortitude talents. You can fort the dragons. It raises their hit points by a whopping 12k. 75k to 87k is a big help.
2 - Three amber drakes. Two red drakes (the holy priest is on one).
3 - We fought over the platform with the treasure chest on it. Priest dropped a lightwell to help keep himself up.
4 - Priest (on the red dragon) initially pulled. (Use the dragon as a free meat shield, y'know). Priest blasted with everything he had. Priest got a lot of the charges to help with his evasion ability, and popped the ability that redirected all enemy fire to him. (And evasive action, of course).
5 - Amber dragons rotated time stop.
6 - Eventually the boss bubbled and started shooting out his arcane circles. The dragons all flew way off to pull them away from the platform. They can be outdistanced and safely explode when the dragon's immunity bubble ends.
7 - Priest no longer attacked on dragon. The other red dragon blasted away to gain aggro.
8 - Priest jumped off his dragon onto the platform and began healing the dragons. Focus was on the red dragon, since if it dies the ambers do quickly. Guardian spirit was popped on an amber drake to save it.
9 - Red dragon focused on whelps as they quickly get healing aggro on the priest. Two whelps will quickly blow away a healer.
10 - All dragons tried to fight over the platform, so if the dragon dies they can land and use what abilities they can to help the fight.
11 - Tank and spank after there with the priest healing away. We successfully killed him, although one of the ember dragons died. Emerald Void achievement completed.

Wouldn't a combination including many reds work also? Alternating tanking for when evasive is available and abusing the chaining nature of the beam to cause large damage to the boss? Of course including 2 bronze.
Healer: On red drake, tanking first
2 other reds, tanking as necessary
2 bronze for timestops on enrages specifically
Have the healer tank until his drake is nearly dead, then try to heal the dragons as best possible while the others finish the boss.

Has anyone tried/succeeded at zerging it with all bronzes? If it's possible, this seems like the way to go, since it would knock out 2 achievements at once.

Just completed this with 3 reds, 2 ambers. We did as the above said and had the red drake {our healer} tank it and die, and was then able to run around and heal us. Worked perfectly, have to say it was the easiest one! :p

This achievement (and
Ruby Void
in conjunction) can be pulled off semi-reliably by using 5 Bronze drakes.
The basic idea is to do enough DPS to make Eregos phase shift without doing much damage to your drakes and without any whelp spawns. The rundown is something like this:
A "starter" drake uses Time Stop, which grants 5 Shock Charges, then uses the channeled spell (Temporal Rift).
While the first drake is channeling, the other 4 drakes are spamming Shock Lance to build up Shock Charges for the first drake.
As soon as the first drake reaches 10 Shock Charges, the other 4 immediately begin to channel.
When the other 4 are all channeling, the first drake uses his Shock Lance. The damage done by the Shock Lance (about~140k) causes the other 4 drakes to instantly build up 8-10 Shock Charges.
The other 4 drakes use Shock Lance again, all hitting Eregos for ~140k x 4.
The process starts over - one drake uses Time Stop and begins channeling to build up Charges, the other 4 drakes spam Shock Lance until the "starter" drake has 10.
You can use Time Stop three times during each phase - after the third stun Eregos becomes immune. After the third Time Stop has gone off, Eregos should be shifting phase soon after and everyone should scatter to avoid the arcane/lightning/whatever balls. Additionally when Eregos shifts back into his attacking phase, the Time Stops from the first two drakes will not have come back up. This means you'll need a rotation on which drake acts as the "starter" drake. You'll need to coordinate your rotations before engaging to successfully pull off a kill.
Keep in mind that even when well executed, there's still some luck involved with this strat; it's possible for Eregos to summon whelps when he's active after the 2nd/3rd Time Stops. It takes some learning to get it down in general (even knowing this strat ahead of time my group took several tries to pull it off). It's not bad once you get it figured out though, definitely easier than other achievements.
Hope this helps, and GL.

Our group devised our own strategy from scratch (though I have seen similar ones on this thread. This is a copy and paste from what I wrote on Ruby Void). I'll have to disagree with both the above commenters and say that using stun 6-8 seconds into the fight almost guarantees that you get no whelps. DPS will be fine without using stun for the charges. For us stun is a way of preventing him from spawning adds, not giving us charges. If the stun rotation is executed perfectly this way you won't see whelps at all.
Basic info:
Temporal Rift does NOT stack. The bonus will always be 100%. (To clarify you can have more than one Temporal Rift up, but the bonus damage does NOT stack.)
The Time Stop does indeed have a DR.
You can stun him for about ~16 seconds per phase.
Strategy:
The basic strategy is to play static charge ping pong with this guy. Have one designated amber drake to pull with a Temporal Rift. The other four drakes will spam shock lance until the first drake has 10 static charges. Then the four drakes using shock lance put up their temporal rift, once all four are up the first drake with the 10 charges detonates his charges using shock lance. If executed properly this gives every drake with temporal rift on the boss an automatic 10 charges. The first drake will put up rift immediately after shock lancing. Then the other four drakes shock lance. As you may have guessed the first drake will have an automatic 10 charges. So you just keep doing that rotation and you will do insane DPS. He should go down to 60% (when ethereal phase starts) if executed properly within ~15-20 seconds.
The stun factor. If your group is competent then you can afford to use the first stun after the four drakes detonate their shock charges. Let me say that whelps spawned based on time as far as we have found. Stunning around 5-8 seconds into the fight is ideal. You want three of your four drakes to get the stun rotation from 100%-60%. Have a defined order and if it helps have someone calling out when to do it. As mentioned 5-8 seconds into the fight for the first one then just use them as he comes out of stun.
Coming out of phase 2 (when he is at 60%) you will want your main rifter (the drake who opened with a rift at the pull) to time-stop off the bat and use rift. He will get 5 charges from the time-stop and it shouldn't take as long to get the other five. The other person who hadn't used stun at this point should use his/her's after, then the first stunner's stun should be off cool-down for the third. If you have problem with whelps coming out at the end of this phase I would suggest switching it up and having the main rifter using hit stun AFTER he detonates his first 10 charges.
After ethereal phase just keep the rotation up as you would normally. Never try to just burn him with shock lance if you have adds sub 20%. Stay calm and keep the rotation up and he will die fast.
This strategy is easy, though it seems like some people need time getting used to how it works. Basically after you get one person their 10 charges all you are doing is using Temporal Rift, and one shock lance, and repeating that.
Note: When you use temporal rift and someone detonates their 10 charges you get 10 charges yourself. Stop your temporal rift as soon as you get 10 charges. NEVER EVER let the temporal rift channel to full when you have 10 charges already. Its a lot of wasted DPS. You have to break channel and be ready for shock lance once the temporal rift(s) are up.
For the person doing the main rift, it is suggested you call stuff out. Once you have your 10 charges, call for people to use temporal rift. Once you see four up you use your shock lance and IMMEDIATELY put up your rift and call out for them to use shock lance and repeat that until he goes to etheral. Have someone other than the main rifter doing stun call outs (after the pull count to 7 or 8 and tell the first person in the stun rotation to stun, then once stun is up tell the next person etc. Straightforward.)
Another tip is to have your main rifter (first person to use temporal rift) to stand apart from the group so you can the other members can shock lance the second they see the animation. Reduced our time on p1/p2 by a few seconds.

Did it today very easily. After completing Amber Void and Ruby Void yesterday with the five emerald kiting strategy (which worked very easily; I posted our exact, specific strat on those two achievement pages), we had the freedom to use both amber and ruby drakes to complete this achievement - a freedom we took great advantage of.
Our setup was 3 x Ruby Drake, 2 x Amber Drake.
When attacking, all 3 ruby drakes would spam the boss with 1, *until* whelps spawned, and then they would target the whelps and chain the attack of them. Throughout the fight the ruby drakes will alternate who is 'tanking', and that drake's priority (more than dps) is to make sure Martyr has a near 100% uptime, and that Evasive Maneuvers is used as often as possible. Once the first tank reaches around 20% health the second ruby drake takes over tanking, and changes priority from dpsing to Martyr/Evasive Maneuvers (whereas the original tank stops doing these completely to stay alive). When the second tank gets to around 20% the third ruby drake takes over, and this third tank should survive until Eregos' death.
The amber drakes have a very easy job. One drake is the 'immunity' time stopper - this drake time stops as soon as Eregos is pulled (to prolong the time before damage starts coming in), and then as soon as his immunity phase ends both times (to allow the group to clump up on the tank for martyr). The second drake is the 'enrage' time stopper - they Time Stop when Eregos enrages, provided it's up (it won't be up for every enrage; more like 1 in 2). Besides this, they both channel temporal rift until they get a 7+ stack of charges (1 of the ruby drakes attacks with temporal rift up will creat 1 charge, meaning that if all 3 are using it as much as possible you'll get a 7 stack in about 5 secs). Once they have a 7+ stack they use Shock Lance, then go back to rifting. This is how they dps for the fight.
In terms of positioning, the group started on the chest platform, then flew over to Eregos when he reached the western point of his flight path. When he goes immune, we fly directly south, then in an anticlockwise circle above the third boss' platforms (virtually identical to our flight path for the 5 emerald drake strat) in order to stay together as a group but still avoid the orbs. When he becomes attackable again, you all stop and wait for him to come to you. On the second immune phase, you simple continue travelling in your large anticlockwise circle.
We ended up completing this achievement in 3 attempts; the first two just fine tuning the strat a little bit, and the third one going perfectly without any deaths. The keys to this strategy are:
*The tanks being decently skilled, and knowing how to Matryr and Evasive Maneuvers as often as possible
*The Time Stop after the immunity phase to provide 10 seconds with which to regroup
Good luck; it looks hard at first but it's actually quite simple, and is a very nice achievement to have completed!

This achievement
and
the Ruby Void
(No Ruby Drake)
achievement can be gained very easily together in one run by using nothing but Amber Drakes
(Yellow)
.
My group of guildies and I did this just yesterday with a small amount of practice and good communication over ventrilo.
Once you're ready to engage Ley-Guardian Eregos, make sure everyone has the Amber
(Yellow)
Drake. If you have a priest, paladin or druid in group get these players to buff every other players drake while they're sitting on them, then buff their own after they call it and targeting it before your character jumps onto its back. Once everyone is ready you will stay in a group and be ready to kite anti-clockwise
(preferably because the boss is already patting this way)
.
Here is the tricky part.
Every
Player must know the mechanics of the Amber drake.
They have:
Button 1:
Shock Lance
(60 yds) - Instant - Deals 4822 to 5602 Arcane damage and detonates all Shock Charges on an enemy dragon. Damage is increased by 6525 for each detonated.
Button 2:
Stop Time
- Instant - 1 min cooldown - Halts the passage of time, freezing all enemy dragons in place for 10 sec. This attack applies 5 Shock Charges to each affected target.
Button 3:
Temporal Rift
(60 yds) - Channeled - Channels a temporal rift on an enemy dragon for 10 sec. While trapped in the rift, all damage done to the target is increased by 100%. In addition, for every 15,000 damage done to a target affected by Temporal Rift, 1 Shock Charge is generated.
Once you engage the boss, four of your players will be spamming Shock Lance hitting the boss with normal attacks while your fifth player will use Temporal Rift as soon as the fight starts. Once this player channeling has reached 10 stacks on Ley-Guardian Eregos he will need to call out for everyone to channel. Whilst every player is channeling, your fifth player uses his 10 stacks and nukes the boss for huge damage, in turn stacking every other players channel and allowing them to use an instant nuke also.
How this works is, Temporal Rift stacks from damage other players do. If you have 10 stacks you can use these 10 to stack other players Temporal Rifts by waiting until they have their Rift on the boss then letting fly with your attack, stacking their Rift. With practice you could even seesaw these attacks off each other and only ever need to use Shock Lance at the start, however it is difficult due to lag and player reaction time.
From here you repeat this process where the same person channels while the other four continue to stack his attack with your primary attack.
During this time
the players who are
not
on Temporal Rift full time will be using Stop Time in a rotation.
Player 1:
Stop Time a few seconds after engaging combat
Player 2:
Stop Time a second after Player 1's Time stop ends.
Player 3:
Stop Time a second after Player 2's Time stop ends.
Player 4:
Save Stop Time due to diminishing returns on the boss.
Player 5:
Save Stop Time due to being on full time Temporal Rift.
These Stop Times are vital due to player 5 essentially "tanking" the boss. Time stop will reduce incoming damage by a huge amount and allow you to nuke without any worries. If this is all executed correctly the boss will fall into the void
(Immune + Transparent)
and spawn sparks
without any
whelps spawning at all.
Kite away in an anti-clockwise rotation around the edge of the sky box away from the sparks and once the boss comes out of the phase go back to engage him
(only go back if there are no whelps. If you have whelps spawn, let him come to you as he flies faster than whelps)
.
At this point Player 4 should Time stop once everyone is within firing distance and repeat what you did at the start of the fight, rotating channels. It is advised to have a different player on full time channel as it could help keep your original "tank" alive by pulling aggro, and also free him up to use his Stop Time. By this time players 1, 2 and 3 should be close to having another Stop Time also. Remember to use three Stop Times in sequence and do not waste them!
Once you've used all your Stop Times, the player with aggro should be flying anti-clockwise around the room kiting the boss trying to avoid any excess damage while your other four players attack him with their Shock Lance. This should be all that needs to be done to finish off the boss. With a little practice and a lot of good communication it is a very easy fight for two achievements in one.
Good luck to everyone trying and I hope this has helped.
Remember not to release if you die, we pulled this off after one of our players fell and he still got the achievement.

Its possible, but we spend 4 hours in there before we finally made it,, :)

We just did the five amber method. Unfortunately, I got knocked off and didnt get credit for having done it on a bronze dragon for the achievement Expert Drake Handler, even though I did get this achievement. Oh well, always next time. :) 5 bronze strat works a dream though, once everyone works out what theyre supposed to do and when.

Pretty much did everything that Koozer said, but we waited for only five stacks on the initial channeller's buff before we time stopped as the time stop adds another 5 stacks of the buff, allowing for quicker DPS and a faster CD for the next set of time stops. This strat works solid, and is ridiculously smooth once you get it. My favorite achievement thus far.

We tried this achievement over two days. First using all Bronze drakes, we had issues getting past the first phase shift.
So we decided to switch tactics and try two Bronze, three Ruby. It took us a few goes to get the technique worked out, but we found this way much much easier thanks to the awesome post by jaxsonbateman.
If you want to get two achievements knocked out in one go I think the five Emerald's is the easiest way to do that.

Did this last night using 3 red 2 amber
Basically copied the green post above, the red would spam attacks in melee range, one amber would time stop at start, one on enrages (Must be punished!) then kited anti clockwise, my drake died just before the end and someone else on their red one died, but still managed to get it.
aslong as people shock straight after a 10 stack, it really trivialises the encounter, i mean, this is the first time i've -ever- one shotted this boss.
Good luck!

Can't you fight close to the ground with like 2 tank and 2 dps dragons while having a healer on the ground healing the dragons?

We tried the 5 bronze drake tact and we couldnt make it, got him down to 7% as best. But then I gave it some thinking and came up with this:
Use one Ruby Drake(Tank)
Two Bronze Drakes(DPS)
And get two imba healers, pref Priest and Shaman/Paladin imo(Humanoids)
Let all your party stand over one of the four platforms, get the priest healer to buff your drakes with Stamina. The three players on drakes should get 87500hp. So now we have three players on drakes(1Ruby, 2Bronze) and two healers standing on the platform.
Let the fight take room from the platform with the Ruby Drake pulling the boss and stay in range of healers all the time.
The Bronze drakes starts to dps as normal. As soon as you see adds all drakes start dps the adds, if more then 3 comes it can be safe to use Time Stop wich the Bronze Drakes have with 1 minut coldown. If your healers are good enough this aint a problem at all.
Mather of fact we got him down on first try.
A trick is to, as a ruby drake, stack dodge and when he goes into immune phase use your martyr and if the bolls hit the healers on the platform the Ruby Drake will get the dmg.
Atleast I thought this to be much easier then using 5 bronze drakes wich it was.
Knock your self out,gl hf:)

We tried the five bronze drake strategy. It was next to impossible. To those interested in trying this strategy, it is very fast fight using five bronze drakes but also very tricky.
The method is to rotate between your team and the stacks and you need PERFECT timing. If you are over 2 seconds late in shooting off the wrong bolt or channel the boss will go on a rampage, or you'll end up meeting your death at whelps. You'll notice that a lot of people who've posted their 5 bronze drake strategy also say that a lot of "luck" is involved.
That is very true, and like any good WoW player you really shouldn't base your strategy off such a simple and always changing aspect like 'luck'. After way too many tries my team abandoned this strategy, since we already had the "Ruby Void" and "Amber" void achievement from using 5 Emerald Drakes two of us hopped on to the Ruby Drakes.
The purpose of having a ruby drake is that you never have to worry about timing too much. So when the drakes come out you can easily one-shot them using your ruby drake. Your healer should use a red drake, and another person can as well. Your healer using the red drake should tank the boss popping evasion, and martyr as many times as possible and your bronze drakes rotating between channeling and shooting off bolts. The reason why you have the healer with a red drake tank is because if his drake dies he will drop onto the platform and be able to throw out heals to people from there.
Fight may take a little longer but having a ruby drake ensures that you never, ever have to deal with unwanted whelps. Or a player that is not too good with timing. You also don't have to worry about your bronze drakes taking too much damage thanks to Martyr and Evasion.
The five bronze drake method is just to risky, and overall not worth it. 2 Ruby and 3 Emerald.

Today we did this very easily accidentally.
Group setup: 3 Amber, 2 Bronze
We started out doing the normal strategy for 3 Amber 2 Bronze, which is tank and stun to basically avoid all damage. You tank the boss right above the platform with the loot chest on it (or that's where we did it, it works anywhere really).
The way it works is that the person who will tank first is a healer. We had a holy priest do this. The first red drake (with a healer on it) tanks the boss until their drake dies, and the healer falls off onto the platform just below. The healer can then heal the drakes that are still alive. The next red drake takes over tanking, but this time that drake has heals without an emerald drake around.
(Reason behind using the red drake to eat the first tank phase and die is to make it easier to heal. The first drake should die just before the first phase change, and then the healer will be ready to heal the second phase.)
When a phase shift happens, it's best to just run straight away and then return back to the platform you were at. You can use a stun so that you have more time to get back.
Also, the damage on the healer who isn't on a drake is fairly significant; about 8k every time the AoE shot happens. The person not on the drake can't be hit by Martyr, so they'll take full damage and should be ready to heal themselves.

Did this last night along with ruby void using the five amber strat people have posted before.
Some tactics we used that were very useful:
- Wait a few seconds before using the first time stop and between the time stops. I had my guys do about a five count. This helps dramatically as opposed to just popping it immediately after the last one has worn off.
- When lancing/rifting make sure everyone understands not to lance until they see the rift(spiral thing) coming out of the drake(s) they are charging. Once this was explained thoroughly we ripped through Eregos.
Three time stops took us into the banish phase without any whelp issues.
The only thing that was difficult was flying away and back to him and trying to set up rifting/lancing again.
It got a little iffy towards the end as whelps started to spawn but we had our emergency time stop (the 4th person lancing) hit it around 10% and got pretty much the full duration and we were able to lance spam him down, lost two drakes.
If it gets hairy stay calm and keep the rift/channel rotation up! You'll down him.
Good luck!

Did Emerald and Ruby void simultaneously tonight on my shaman with a 5 drake amber. One nice trick we found out is that earth shield can be cast directly on drakes and it can help to keep them up during the fight. So, I guess if you're trying to get both achievements done at the same time, the easiest would be 4 shamans specced resto, with an earth shield on 4 drakes.

Emerald Void
- We spent a couple of hours, but when we went through the tactic one more time we all got it. Basically you use 5 Bronze Drakes. You'll make a spell rotation using Stop Time, Shock Lance and Temporal Rift.
STEP 1
Player 1
- Engage the boss, using Temporal Rift.
Player 2
- Use Shock Lance till the Temporal Rift reaches 10 stacks.
Player 3
- Use Shock Lance till the Temporal Rift reaches 10 stacks.
Player 4
- Use Shock Lance till the Temporal Rift reaches 10 stacks.
Player 5
- Use Shock Lance till the Temporal Rift reaches 10 stacks.
Once it reaches 10 stacks, the four players who previously used Shock Lance uses Temporal Rift. The Player 1 will then (when there is 4 Temporal Rifts up) release his Temporal Rift by using his Shock Lance ability. This will do a lot of damage to the boss, and remember - don't release the Temporal Rift before there is 4 Temporal Rifts up, important!
STEP 2
Now keep in mind that you also need a Time Stop rotation.
When Player 1 channels Temporal Rift, he should also use his Time Stop ability after the boss has attacked him once. When STEP 1 is done, you'll change positions. This means;
Player 1
- Use Shock Lance till the Temporal Rift reaches 10 stacks. (Cooldown on Time Stop)
Player 2
- Channel Temporal Rifts till it reaches 10 stacks, then release it once there's 10 stacks wait for 4 Temporal Rifts to appear; release. Use Time Stop ability 1 second after Player 1.
Player 3
- Use Shock Lance till the Temporal Rift reaches 10 stacks. Use your Time Stop ability 1 second after Player 2's Time Stop ends.
Player 4
- Use Shock Lance till the Temporal Rift reaches 10 stacks.
Player 5
- Use Shock Lance till the Temporal Rift reaches 10 stacks.
During or after STEP 2 he'll go into the Void Phase, making him immune to attacks. You are now to fly in a circle, heading left to avoid the flying electrocuted balls.
When he returns to normal;
STEP 3
Player 1
- Use Shock Lance till the Temporal Rift reaches 10 stacks.
Player 2
- Use Shock Lance till the Temporal Rift reaches 10 stacks.
Player 3
- Use Shock Lance till the Temporal Rift reaches 10 stacks.
Player 4
- Channel Temporal Rifts till it reaches 10 stacks, then release it once there's 10 stacks wait for 4 Temporal Rifts to appear; release. Use Time Stop ability after the boss does his first attack.
Player 5
- Use Shock Lance till the Temporal Rift reaches 10 stacks. Use Time Stop 1 second after Player 4's Time Stop ends.
STEP 4
Player 1
- Use Shock Lance till the Temporal Rift reaches 10 stacks.
Player 2
- Use Shock Lance till the Temporal Rift reaches 10 stacks.
Player 3
- Use Shock Lance till the Temporal Rift reaches 10 stacks.
Player 4
- Use Shock Lance till the Temporal Rift reaches 10 stacks.
Player 5
- Channel Temporal Rifts till it reaches 10 stacks, then release it once there's 10 stacks wait for 4 Temporal Rifts to appear; release.
Now start from the beginning again - Player 1 Time Stop etc.
Now you got the rotation, simply rinse and repeat. If you do this right you will have
zero
Whelping adds spawning, which makes this very doable. You might need some tries, but it's worth it.
Edited: Fixed some errors.

Completed this on February 17th (Patch 3.0.9) with 5 Amber drakes.
After wipes and wipes and rewriting my macro lots of times I created perfect macro and if group members follow time stops exactly when macro announces in /rw there will be no adds until 1min20sec of boss fight.
After 1:20 I don't know when adds spawn anymore so you will have to complete this macro if you don't down boss in 1:20.

Dont listen to people who propose you to do 2 amber 3 red. It can be done this way but you will never get as much satisfaction as doing it with 5 Amber!
5 Amber is POSSIBLE. And after you understand the tactics and get used to this strategy you will oneshot him with 5amber all the time! Its possible and even not so hard to do 5 ambers without any whelps spawned and without anyone get past 70% hp.
Good luck with the most fun hc achievement! ;)

Got this a few days ago along with the Ruby Void. 5 ambers is doable, but you need alot of time, patience and a little luck. We wiped a few times, and then decided on this.
We had one amber drake channel while the others spammed 1. After he had ten charges, another group(We had used the diamond and skull to seperate into two groups) channeled while the other group spammed, all while keeping timestop rotations going. Overall, it was alright, none of us were killed, althoughthe first channeler almost did. Very doable with a good group

We did this achievement and Amber void at the same time.
Group Setup:
-Shadowpriest
-Protpala
-Retripala
-Hunter (me)
-Resto-shammy (full t7,5)
3 of our drakes had both BoK and Fortitude, giving the drakes around 91K hp for better survivability.
Everyone picked up ruby drakes (aka tank-drake). We engaged the boss near the platform on which the loot chest is on. The shammy started out tanking and when his drake died, he fell onto the platform and started to heal the other group members. The rest of us used our tanking abilities as soon as we had max HP.
With this strategy it only took us 2 tries. First try we got him down to 450K. Our healer went OOM when Eregos was at 100K but we had enough time to kill him anyway.
You will need either a very good healer (which we had) or good teamplay (which we quite honestly lacked, but we pulled it off anyway). It actually wasn't as hard as you might think.

Ok after about 5 hours wiping trying to do emrald and ruby achvmnts at same time but we failed , so we decided to do jus the emerald one since its the hardest .we tryed some ways but we figured an imba way that we got the achvmnt from the 1st try,u simply will get 2 ruby drakes and 2 amber drakes and 5th member had NO DRAKE
it was me -the healer- with no drake , i stayed on the platform where the loot chest is and they started there fight normaly , the tanks are tanking and the dpsers dpsing and i was standing healing there drakes..and tada we doen it 1st try
THINGS U MUST KNOW:
-all drakes must remmember to stay in healer's range,,
-when the banish comes the orbs WONT HIT THE HEALER they just run after the drakes
-the only thing bad that might happen , healer dies..by the adds , if tanks didnt kill them,,or by the boss it self ,, he hitted me for about 5k in random time so jus be rdy to heal ur self at any time
-also make sure the healer is good-i was a pala healer so didnt find big problem with mana-since ur heals will be mosly the big heals
-ofc u can buff the draks with kings/stamina buff from priest or wvr
-this try was in 3.0.8! and its 100% garanted .GL all of ya

Done with 3 Amber drakes and 1 Ruby.
Me being a Restoration Druid was standing on the middle platform healing all the drakes, while the Ruby tanked the boss and took out the adds. Found this incredibly easy. One of our Ambers died in the fight, the Moonkin landed on a platform and continued his dps with me healing him. Hope this helps!

Simple three-Ambers one-Red Resto Druid completion. Was actually very easy - Time Stop when he Enrages, possibly rotate Shock Charges, but overall very doable. Our healer thought it was a good excercise as well, it wasn't easy.

Did this today ( 6/4/09 ) and it was rediculously eazy
we used a 4 ruby drake and 1 healer (paladin naxx 25 gear for us) on the platform near the chest
so what we did was we had the 4 ruby drakes flying above the platform so that the paladin could heal us. We had 1 ruby drake keeping his martyr up at al time while the others just spammed the nr.1 skill. Our tank saved his evasion points for when he enraged and it was done before we knew it.
we didnt have any previous practive with this tactic and just one shotted it and got both the Emerald void and the Amber void achievement.

Easy in set 2 ruby and 3 amber drakes. Especially when MT ruby got buffs from priest, BoK from pally and druid buff, then he can get over 90 k hp.
So.. Ruby drake pulls him and uses asap his evasive manuvers + MARTYR ability... When second is doing same then its piece of cake.
Set 2 amber drakes to use their time stop on enrages + 3rd one "whenever its needed".
Whelps are not problem with 2 rubies with AoE.
I one-shotted this achievement with noone dying tho our MT had like 1% hp left when ley guardian died :P
Good luck ;)

After the changes in 3.0.8, some people are claiming that it is impossible to get 2 of the ___ Void achievements in 1 run. As of today, it is still possible. I got Amber Void and Emerald Void in the same run with the following strategy:
4 members of our group rode Ruby drakes, the 5th was our healer (resto shaman, ulduar geared) stood on the platform below us and just helped heal the drakes. We were very disorganized, and had no real "plan." Basically, I pulled the boss, and we just spammed the Scorch ability on him, if I got low on health, I would call out somebody's name, and they would begin to Martyr spam, if they got low on health, they would call out the next person's name, so that the healer would have a chance to heal up each drake while somebody else was tanking it. While you were the one tanking, you do Evasive Maneuvers whenever possible (didn't really pay attention to whether or not he was enraged).
At one point during the fight, my drake died because the shaman ran out of mana, so I fell onto the platform, helped heal, and innervated the resto shaman (I am a boomkin druid).
Using this strategy, we easily did it in 1 attempt. Everybody on my server hates running H-Oculus because they claim it is hard, this was my first time in the instance, the shaman's first time in the instance, and 1 of the DPS's first time in the instance, and we 1shot through everything including the last boss with these 2 achievements.
It really helps if multiple people in your party have healing spells (we had resto shaman, boomkin druid, shadow priest), so that if their drake dies, they can fall down and help heal.
HEALER ON THE PLATFORM AND NOT ON A DRAKE IS A GREAT STRATEGY. EASIER THAN HEALING ON A GREEN DRAKE.

Hi there,
I got this achievement + Amber void today. What we did was have a healer on the central platform and 4 red drakes. I tanked with Martyr always up and evasive maneuvers when his berserk was up. We were so bad at it that I died when phase 2 begun. I released, came back and resummoned my drake. At that time there was only a living drake left, I flew up to Eregos, tagged him, and started kiting under evasive maneuvers while the others came back on foot. Died a second time but got the achievement anyway.
So 4 drakes + healer is a good idea and if you die, release and come back on foot. Be wary to instantly summon your drake back, otherwise you'll get in combat before you can summon it.
Free achievement really.

For those of you who happen to be the priest/druid/pally buffing drakes, it is possible to buff your own drake. Buff everyone else, use the mount item, and then you'll be stunned momentarily while your drake spawns and lands in front of you. It is a separate npc that you can target as it lands, and there will be a small window of time where you will be able to target and buff your own drake just before you mount it.

With 3.2 these void achieves will be a lot easier for those with gear.
One shot emerald void with 3r2b formation, sloppily done (first ruby didn't use martyr at all), had one bronze die just near the end.
With about half naxx 25/uld 25 gear my ruby drake had 100k life and was doing basic flame bursts of 9-11k.
We would've swapped to chain off the whelps to Eregos, but the whelps died in one burst before they were even fully rendered on the screen.

I pugged this with a variation of the 5 Amber Drakes strat (because what I was really going for was Ruby Void, Emerald Void was just a side-effect).
I used mordili's macro to do the timestops. (Assign the macro to one of your non-main bars and give it a keybinding; you'll be able to use it while on a drake.) Timestop #3 usually had to be right after the first phase shift, and timestop #4 right after #3 fades, other than that, we stuck to the macro and did not start the fight with a timestop (waiting until the macro fired to do the first one.)
Two people were assigned to 'rift' at the start (ability 3). The other three were to 'shock' at the start (ability 1). This is the only time ability 1 was ever 'spammed', and only by the three assigned people.
Once the two 'rifters' got to ten stacks each (which everyone should be able to see), we start the FAWR (Fire At Will Rotation). Here were the rules to the rotation (very simple)
1: Do ability 3 until you have 10 stacks.
2: Do ability 1 as fast as possible, if and only if you see someone else is doing ability 3. Only do ability 1 ONCE.
3: Instantly go back to doing ability 3.
4: Interrupt whatever you're doing to do your assigned timestop (see above.)
The two rifters are basically doing the rotation the entire time, it's only the three shockers who have the extra step of waiting until the rifters get 10 stacks before doing ability 3 for the first time. Rifters have to make sure they wait until they see debuffs from non-rifters before they do ability 1, and after that, it's 'fire at will' with no real planned swapping of any kind. DPS was insane.
The boss phase shift's at 60% and 20%. Using mordili's macro, you should have zero adds at 60%, and maybe a couple adds at 20% but they'll be timestopped most of the time anyway so shouldn't be a problem. Because of timestop going off at its assigned times, you won't take much damage from the boss or adds; your main source of damage is actually the BUBBLES when he's phase shifted. Take absolutely NO damage from them or you'll fail. You have to do this twice during the fight.
AFTER a phase shift, it's like you start over, with the same two assigned 'rifters' and 'shockers', and just like the beginning, this is the only time ability 1 gets spammed, and again by only those three people, and only until the two rifters get 10 stacks and then it's the 'fire at will' rotation.
Fight naked to avoid repair bills while you practice until you are able to have 3 or more members survive through the second phase shift by bubble-dodging and everyone time stopping at the appropriate times. Then, if you don't down him that attempt, do attempts with gear on because it slightly adds to the hp of the drakes. Buffs will work on drakes, or at least power word: fortitude did. I cast that on all my group's drakes, then mounted my own, and I just had to go without the buff. Dismounting removes any buffs on your drakes.
For reference, here's the macro (replace with names of your group members, and trigger it the instant the boss aggros):
/in 12 /rw Timestop #1 NAME1
/in 27 /rw Timestop #2 NAME2
/in 42 /rw Timestop #3 NAME3
/in 57 /rw Timestop #4 NAME4
/in 72 /rw Timestop #5 NAME5
/in 87 /rw Timestop #6 NAME1
/in 102 /rw Timestop #7 NAME2
/in 117 /rw Timestop #8 NAME3

Just did this and Ruby Void at once using five ambers. We did it in two tries, and one of our five DCed on the first attempt. The macro found on page one of the comments here was extremely helpful. I'm not sure if we are supposed to be able to keep him from doing his immune phase, but we weren't and it's important to note that the macro does not account for this. This means that when you re-engage from dodging those balls he sends at you your timing will probably be a little off. However, we were able to bring him to 17% before a couple of us died. From then on it went a little slower and those left alive just hit a time stop when they had it available. Two left standing at the end. I'm two achievements from my red proto drake >.<

in 6 tries we nailed the classic 5 amber approach
4 people start the beam, one time stops and shoots and does beam after, and repeat that as quickly as possible
time stops on enrage, and we used it after our last phase shift as not to die to adds all over the place

Just take 5 Ruby drakes, and nuke Ley-Guardian Eregos.
We we're 4 minutes too late for getting Make it Count...
I say; good luck with trying. :)

for 5 ambers the 1 rift, while 4 lance then switch to 4 lance and 1 rift at the start really worked well. after the first rotation everyone can keep doing it freely and should always be timed with someone elses to give you 10 stacks.
waiting about 5 seconds then doing first time stop is key. after that you can pop another maybe 1-2 sec if that after the previous one ends and should get him to p2 with at most 1 wave of adds that you can dps as you run. you also should have only used 3 time stops before first phase 2. time stop right after he phases back as well.
rinse and repeat and he goes down, just did it now after 1.5 hours of wiping.

Completed this achievement today, together with the ruby void achievement, as a 4-group.
4 Amber Drakes
rotating
Stop Time
. At the end of each immunity phase fly out from the boss and let the timers for Stop Time reset a little.
2 Amber Drakes keep up a stack of
Shock Lance
, while the other 2 Amber Drakes keep up
Temporal Rift
. When both stacks hit 10, the group casting Shock Lance switches to Temporal Rift and vice versa, let the stacks go up to 10 again and switch. Rinse and repeat.
A very simple but effective tactic that let us grab 2 achievements in one run. If you've got another Amber Drake it will probably go alot smoother, but you'll have to be fortunate enough to find people for it :)

I completed this achievement purely by accident. Our group was just doing a normal Occulus run (1 ruby, 3 amber, 1 emerald), and our emerald drake died in the last 5% of the fight. The player landed on the floating platform and survived the rest of the fight. We all got the achievement because there was no emerald drake present at the end of the fight. I don't know if dismounting will have the same effect.
This occurred 12/26/09, so it hasn't been patched yet.

Has anyone been having any trouble with this achievement being bugged? Ive completed all 3 drake riding achievements, but for some reason, my Emerald Drake achievement is showing under "Experienced Drake Rider." Any have this problem or know what to do? By the way, i've already killed the boss with every drake alive and stable.

Wow, you're all thinking too hard.
Easiest way to do this is:
Take a normal set-up (1 Ruby, 3 Amber, 1 Emerald).
Place the healer on one of the floating rocks.
Tell him to get off the drake.
Then you pull Eregos near the rock, so you're in range of the healer.
That way the healer can heal your drake, without using an emerald drake.
Then just continue the fight as you'd like.
Can be combined with Ruby Void or Amber Void.

Accidentally got last night. The Green drake died right before the end of the run, and it gave us the achievement. So you try to do any of the Voids you can use 1 or 2 but right before the boss dies, dismount and let them kill them while you stand on the ground, and boom achievement.

Just got this one for someone else in the group by complete accident. On top of that we had just previously kicked the original tank who had refused to tank at all if anyone took an emerald drake because he wanted the achievement. Oh, the irony.
It happened by accident because in the process of moving from Urom to Eregos my emerald drake had taken a little damage, so I hopped off the drake and was going to hop back on so I would be at 100% health. Well, between hopping off and hopping back on, the tank didn't realize it and started the fight. Suddenly I was in combat and couldn't get on the emerald drake.
Luckily, the interim tank and the replacement tank were on the ball and realized what had happened, so they had the good sense to stay within range of me on one of the top platforms so I could heal their drakes (they show up on Grid). I healed them, they kept the adds off me by killing them quickly, ran away during the orbs and came back to me after the orbs exploded. Luckily no orbs came after me.
Nice work and quick thinking by those two. After the boss died the tank mentioned he just got the achievement :)

Got this +
by having 4 ruby drakes and one player healer not in a drake. Had the drakes use the Triangle marked healer as their focal point, staying 40 yards away from him at all times. Rotating out our '3' ability (
Martyr
) makes sure its up 100% of the time and makes healing this as a healer retardedly easy.
Also make sure you have the drakes follow another marked drake (used diamond here) that goes about 60-80 yards left or right in the bomb phase, so you'll avoid killing the healer there. Repeat and get ezmode ach :D

One RUBY + One EMERALD (ilvl 380+373) :
easy
Two AMBER (ilvl 380+373) :
doable, i managed to wipe @2.5% hp while dualboxing the two drakes.
Three AMBER (ilvl 380+373+376) :
very easy, a friend came to help me afterall and we nuked the boss first pull.

Edit: why did my comment get downrated? I'm asking a question o.O

It *is* possible at level 85 to obtain all three "void" achievements at the same time.
The party must have a healer as I found out today. Tank is not completely necessary as Ley-Guardian does not come in melee range so this will be easier with a team of casters.
When you reach Ley-Guardian, you need to
destroy
(out of your bags) the drake mount. So you will not have it on your character during the battle. Range-tank Ley Gaurdian Eros down and you will get all three achievements for all three Voids.

Did it today out of curiosity.

Confirmed strategy by Wolfpaw. Although destroying the instance mounts is not necessary. It is possible to kill Eregos while achieving
琥珀虚空
,
翡翠虚空
, and
红玉虚空
. You can fly up to the highest ring, pull him with any ranged attack, and run around the ring until he flies closer to the platform to follow you. Once he's closer to the platform melee classes should be able to hit/tank him. Solo'd as a level 90 Frost Death Knight in mostly Dreadful Gladiator gear without any issues.
