It's fairly difficult, but seems quite possible. The important thing is that you need as little downtime as possible - essentially chain pulling, similar to the Strath timed event.
This is how I'd do it:
1. As soon as the first boss dies, everyone grabs an amber drake. These are the dps mounts, and are all you need for the few azure drakes you'll need to kill.
2. To actually kill the azure drakes, open with a time shock, then time stop, then do a heavy time shock (due to the charges on the mob). Repeat on any subsequent mobs, with other drakes using time stop.
3. Kill as few drakes as possible - this is achieved by flying directly up at the start, and flying out and around.
4. Kill the eastern constructs, the western constructs, then travel around the inner circle from southwest to southeast. Use as little CC as possible, and kill the casters first. Move out of blizzards/flamestrikes.
5. Kill only the drakes near enough to the second boss' platform to aggro during battle, drop down and engage. Kill, quickly loot, fly to the third boss.
6. Fly between the four third boss positions, loot, fly back to the drake vendor and pick up two ambers, two emeralds and a ruby.
7. Kill Eregos as expediently as possible. One amber should constantly use temporal rift (except for when they have 7+ charges, at which time they should lance) and the other should be constantly lancing to build up the other amber's charges - it's very unlikely with the damage from the two greens and the red that both could channel temporal rift and get charges.
The keys to success with these achievement likely lie in: a) the people in the group having done the instance before, being able to chain pull, and not aggroing unnecessary drakes during the period between the first and second bosses, and b) the people in the group being skilled enough with their drakes that they can one shot Eregos, and quickly.
I'll be trying for this achievement shortly as I'm closing in on my red proto, and I'll let everyone know if it's successful.

Managed to almost achieve this today if out healer hadnt wiped us once xD
We took 1 emerald, 2 amber, 2 ruby and took the path to each boss with the least dragons blocking it. We gave our healer / myself {oomkin :P } innervates and spammed the mana pots when we could, and it seems easy enough. Even after a wipe on last boss we still had 2 minutes left.

Ciel
The way to do this is five ambers.
Timestop -> Timestop
that should be enough to bring him down to 60% very shortly after second timestop ends.
4 people uses temporal rift, one fires and activates his rift, the other 4 fires and puts up their rift again, repeat.
When he's out of his banishment you just timestop him again and do the same thing.
It's not risky if you're good at controlling the ambers.

We did this yesterday with this setup:
Paladin
Mage
Shadow Priest
Death Knight(Dps)
Warrior Tank
The tank was chain pulling and we were trying to do our best dps.It is preferable to have an aoe class because most mobs there are easier to be killed faster with aoe.
We took 3ruby and 2 emerald(easiest setup)and killed him.
I would say its the safest setup as the ruby kill the drakes and has the dodge effect for enrage. In this way, The Amber Void can be done as well.

Did it 01/08/09 with:
Warlock (Demo)
2 x Druid (Resto, Feral)
Death Knight (Tank)
Priest (Shadow)
Only had a few seconds to spare (I think).
Basically just chain pull everything.
Drake setup:
2 x Ruby
1 x Amber
2 x Emerald

Hey guys. while this may seem very difficult. Keep in mind for every dragon you must kill, that's an extra 15 seconds added. This in mind when pulling dragons always move high in the air until over a kill point. Stay to 1 side as to avoid dragons on the other side of the 2 platforms. This then will ultamitly save allot of time. After killing the mage boss, always stick together as people spread out will pull extra whelps.
For the people most confident with the 5 amber strat, this will be the quickest. The safest and most effective for most groups however will the 2 emerald, 2 amber and a ruby.

Is it possible to do this with 5 emeralds or would it take too long to kill Eregos?
评论来自
Chachee
I wouldn't bother doing this with 5 greens, because that can take a while (especially if you aren't experienced at it).
My group did it with 2 greens, 2 reds, and a yellow. That group can easily stay alive and take care of the boss in a decent amount of time. Better than trying to kill the boss super fast (with a 5 yellow comp) and wiping. Just use a survivable group so you don't need to worry about wiping.
With the current normal mode "strategy" you have plenty of time to kill the boss.

This strat was originally posted by Whispah:
First off zone in to the instance on Normal and kill the First boss and get your appropriate drakes (whatever your group wants provided you can kill it one shot with the drakes of your choice).
Once this is completed die and release (don't zone out, just die). When everyones released, set it to Heroic. Everyone zones in with their drakes. You now fly around and kill all bar one pack of constructs.
Then kill the first boss, kill the last pack of constructs, kill second boss, third boss and then huzzah.. final boss.
I have no idea why it was rated down and purged since it
stills works as of 01/17/09
.
As of 3.0.8 this no longer works.

You can no longer as of Patch 3.0.8 zone in normal mode, kill the first boss and get a drake and then switch to heroic. You'll lose your drakes.

The above strat of going in on normal and then resetting to heroic and clearing NO LONGER WORKS as of patch 3.8. Tried it today as it is the last one I need and was sadly disappointed. However, did find out that barring any wipes on the last boss ..my current group can easily get this within the time frame.
Current group make-up:
Holy Pally
Hunter
Rogue
Pew-Pew "Lazer" Chicken
Prot Pally (me)
my ideal group would be:
Resto shaman for the bloodlust/heroism
mage
lock or Boomkin
ret pally or Shadow priest
prot pally
as this group would cover almost all of the buffs needed to make for a smooth ride.

I'm wondering, but would this be possible:
instances reset every day (well heroics, yes?) at that special time at about 2-3am server.
Now, would it be possible to go into the instance and then kill the first boss, and then about 30mins before the new day starts, each take your dragon and die, wait for oculus to reset?
would your drake be destroyed too?
I don't know.

A few key points to keep in mind for the time between the end of the first kill to the engagement of the last boss:
Make sure everyone knows what drake they are getting ahead of time, and which cage the NPC with their drake comes out of.
Don't
loot ANY corpses. The boss loot will be there when you're done.
Chain pull. If you're using any forms of CC have a plan ahead of time who is going to take care of what (i.e.: Shaman Hexes and Mage Sheeps back two Humanoids on construct pulls). This will help save time since you won't have to mark anything.
Don't be afraid to kill a few dragons on the way to the outer platforms for the constucts and second boss. Better to take a few seconds to knock out the 3 or 4 you might aggro than to ignore them and have someone die as a result.
If you have a Blood Lust/Heroism, use it on the second boss. This will be the best use because this fight is slightly more stationary than the third.
On the beast pack the third boss spawns: Kill the Wind Serpents first (chain lightning), followed by the Mammoth (charge).
Once the third boss is dead, everyone who isn't buffing Drakes needs to immediately mount up. The buffers need to cast as soon as possible. When everyone is ready you need to immediately go up and engage the boss.
If any Whelps aggro on the way, let the Ruby Drake take care of them as long as he keeps his second and third ability up constantly since he more than likely won't have aggro most of the time.
Our dragon makeup was 1 Ruby, 2 Emerald, and 2 Amber then finished with about 2 minutes left. But your group should do whatever you feel most comfortable doing. Ours was one of the more reliable makeups, 5 Amber is very fast but takes practice to perfect it.
Just keep calm and you'll win. Good luck!

Got this achievement yesterday with the following group makeup:
Prot warrior(me)
Holy Paladin
Mage
Death Knight
Shadow Priest
We had 2 min left on the timer when Ley-Guardian died. Only 1 person died in the entire run and we screwed up on trash quite a bit. We used 3 ruby and 2 amber to defeat the boss.

Just did it with a REALLY sloppy run.
Feral Druid (Me)
Balance Druid
Affliction Lock
Elemental Shaman
Holy Paladin
Druid died on the first construct platform from drakes, had a death on Varos from a drake aggroing, and wiped once on Eregos. And one of our ambers on the kill died to the orbs. This is not that hard if you have a group who knows what to do.

Failed this because of x-perl unit frames. Couldn't see the HP of drakes neither target them through the unit frames interface, and I was a healer :(
engaged Eregos with 5 minutes left.
Disabled Addon, reloaded UI and killed the boss in 2 minutes and a half. Was too late though.

Been practicing this achievement for the last few days since it's the last one we need for Glory of the Hero.
After missing out on the timer narrowly for a couple of days, we identified that clearing the drake trash was the time-consuming aspect of our run and thus needed a way to speed this up.
This is the strategy we now use :
- As soon as the first boss is dead we assign people to pick up 1 Red, 1 Green and 3 Yellow drakes.
- Once everyone is mounted, one person with a yellow is instructed to use their time stop. We then fly all the way to one of the outside platforms. When the timestop wears off there is usually 1-2 dragons around to kill. We then dismount, kill trash and get back on the drakes.
- We then use back-to-back timestops to make our way to the platform on the other side without detection, kill some drakes and clear the trash.
- Once all outside trash are dead we use another time stop to make it to the inner platforms undetected and start clearing the trash around the middle
Using this approach we no longer have people unnecessarily agroing things they shouldn't and managed to get to the last boss with over 4 minutes left on the timer.

After reading the posts above, we made our plan and ended up 1-shotting this. (post 3.0.8) We used 1 ruby drake, 2 bronze drakes and 2 emerald drakes.
When we downed the first boss everyone grabbed their drakes immediately. We flew stright up and cleared the internal ring of mobs first by chain pulling each group without stopping. We had a lock fear 1 add just to make things a little less chaotic. We never stopped killing.
Killing the second boss without dying or spending too much time killing dragons is the hard part of all of this. We did not want to fight any more dragons then we had to... We used the middle of the inner ring to fly from platform to platform (because there are no dragons in the middle area) and would kill 1-3 dragons (3 on the first platform, and only 1 dragon on the next two needed to be killed) We would then fly back through the middle to the next platform. Once the second boss is dead, all the dragons despawn.
The third boss is easy. Kill the sets of adds each of the three floating platforms ASAP... the tank can fly directly to the mob and dismount triggering the adds to appear. Just nuke... focus fire makes it faster. Once the adds are all dead fly directly to the third boss and start that fight. Kill him as fast as possible.
Once he is dead, we all mounted up except our priest (Moonseekar rocks...) and had stam buffs applied to your drake. We flew straight up to the platform where the chest is. Once there we killed any small drakes which may have agro'd. Engage the boss... proceed to pwn face.
Before we started we talked as a group so everyone was 100% aware of the plan. We knew what paths we were taking from point to point, what everyone's roll was. Killing the second boss with all the dragons is the hardest part.... don't panic, just be calm and kill what you need to. We did this with about 2 min left and it was our first try.

Did it today, scanned through a few of the comments, and some tips I will mention, some of which were not mentioned before.
1. This is going to take a few runs to nail it down, don't be dis-heartened if you don't get it first attempt.
2. Go with what set-up your group feels comfortable with. Personally if your taking 5 Amber's, its a risky venture. If you do it right you will get to Ley-Guardian with around 5-minutes+
3. We took 2 Ruby's, 1 Amber, 2 Emeralds, which was our 'safe' group.
4. Kill as little drakes as possible can. Don't panic if you pull one or two more than necessary don't worry, you should still have time.
5. Before you engage the first boss, buff up, food buff's whatever, go over tactic, make sure everyone is confident in what they are doing.
6. Might be a good idea to mark the person who is most confident with the flight path, stick to him so the less-confident ones pull less unwanted drakes.
7. At not one point in the entire run did I (healer) or any of my group stop to eat or drink, the only time frame allowed to really do this is when you drop off the drakes just before you engage a centrifuge or boss.
8. For the centrifuge's I found the best way to do it was, Western Platform, mount up, go to the semi-circle and clear you way around there, then a short mount ride to the Eastern Platform, mount, straight to second boss, then do the third boss etc.
9. If you have the DPS and the healing power keep the 3rd boss (Mage-Lord Urum) stationary and just full out nuke the boss, we got him down in 27 seconds. However we did have Bloodlust and all our group were in pretty much full T7.5, I can understand that some groups may not be able to pull this off however, give it a try see how it goes, you may be surprised by the results and it saved us a lot of time!
10. Clear up to Ley-Guardian, and take out the whelps that you encounter, ruby's should of no problem taking him down.
11. If you get this far and have around 4 minutes or so on the clock the achievement should be yours, our kill time was 1:56, with 2 Ruby's, 2 Emerald's, 1 Amber. My job on Amber was to mainly time-stop when he enrages after coming out of phase 2, which is a good idea as Ruby's may be low on evasion charges.
Boss time kills for all out bosses was as follows:
Drakos the Interrogator - 0:41
Varous Cloudstrider - 0:40
Mage-Lord Urom - 0:23 (only boss used blood lust on)
We had 1:54 remaining on the clock when the Ley-Guardian died.
The boss times are not for /epeen. Just a reference to how much dps we were pushing out to how much time we had left.
It wasnt a perfect run I think we pulled about 4 drakes we shouldnt have.
Good luck, definatly one of the more fun achievements I believe and quite satisfying to get.

Overall, the key to getting this achievement is to keep a fast pace and not wipe on Eregos. We made superb time up to Eregos, even with a few deaths along the way. Don't give up if someone drops on a drake, etc. However, if you wipe on Eregos, you won't get the achievement, regardless of how sharp your time is. Here are a few things I've noticed after trying this achievement:
(1) After you kill the first boss, have everyone pre-assigned to their drake so you can immediately take off and start clearing. Once you start clearing, keep a fast pace with no downtime. I never stop and drink as the group's healer and use mana pots if necessary.
(2) If you pull extra drakes don't panic - just have one person in vent designated to call out what to attack and where to fly. Chances are that you're probably going to pull extra drakes by accident, even if you're careful. Don't worry - kill them and keep the pace fast and precise.
(3) Once you get to Eregos, make note of how much time you have to actually kill him - do not just rush in. If you have sufficient time, don't rush it. Also, make sure that the group stays tight together. We wiped twice due to people spreading out too much and not being able to catch every heal.
(4) If you're on a ruby drake, make sure to take out whelps when they spawn. Also, keep the group stacked together tightly so that the whelps won't spread out. This was a problem for us and lead to one of our wipes (the person on the ruby drake wasn't able to chain the attack to all of the whelps and kill them, which lead to excess damage on the group, which eventually lead to a wipe).
(5) If you're using multiple amber drakes, they should be communicating in Vent and calling out when to channel and when to attack. They should also call out when to time-lapse during enrages. The amber drake people need to communicate.

This is actually an extremely easy achievement if the people in your group are atleast half-epiced out. We had a group of 4 working on it for 3 days, each day bringing a random (two out of three barely knew the instance), and succeeded on our third try.
The failures were alone caused by when the last boss phased off for the second time. People were flying away from him, without noticing we're already at the end of the instance so me and the other drake who flew to another direction just watched three of our group fall like flies with the boss at some hundred thousand health. Nearly managed to down him like this though, when there were three drakes left after the phase. On the third day we made it absolutely clear that on the second time when the boss phases off, we don't fly directly away from him, but rather fly directly to the left. This got us our achievement with minutes left to share. I think we even wiped once on that run.
The important things here are, like already stated;
- Know the instance. This is the most important part.
- Have the drakes decided beforehand.
- Have a leader drake everyone follows or the followed path agreed on beforehand.
- Keep chain pulling. People in your group should be well enough geared that they do not require half a minute between each pull to prepare.
- Enough dps, tank who can hold AoE threat as most packs are AoEd and a healer who can keep the group up.
- Aim for a maximum of four drake kills when heading for the platforms. Two is the ideal, three is good. This is a big time saver, but killing as much as six doesn't ruin your effort.
- Do not wipe. It's doable with one or even two wipes, but especially if the group is on the edge, try to have none.
- 2 ruby/tank, 2 emerald/healer and 1 amber/dps drakes is the absolutely no-brainer setup for the last boss. Tank drakes basically spam their damaging ability and the two others when they're off cooldown. Healer drakes keep their poison and debuff up on the boss and channel health to groupies taking damage. One healer is enough to keep the debuff up. Finally, the amber drake should simply just wait until the channeled ability reaches 10 stacks, hit the boss, repeat. Save stop time for the "oh-shait" moments.

By following the advice given here we were able to do it easily with 2 ruby's (to help with adds), 2 ambers, and 1 emerald. 1 ruby was doing martyr and the healer was only healing that one. The ruby's chained on the adds and the bronzes drakes traded off with the channeling, hitting. Quite easy, engaged the last boss with 6:30 left.
Oh and make sure you test martyr before you pull, it wasn't working on one of our attempts and the bronze died real fast at that point.

Just did this yesterday to finish my Glory of the Hero, took us about 4-5 days of serious attempts to nail down. Some tips and advice to make this work:
1. Food buffs before the first boss is important, not only for the extra AP/spellpower, but stamina too. Healer should gear for regen. Flask if you can afford it.
2. The first boss is not a DPS race, the timer doesn't start until he's dead. Save your short cooldowns for one of the earlier trash pulls after the first boss, save your long cooldowns for the second boss.
3. Don't loot anything. Bosses or trash, those precious seconds add up fast.
4. Decide ahead of time what your dragon composition is. We ran 1 ruby, 2 amber, 2 emerald, and we used that throughout the whole instance, not just for the boss. Unless your group is severely undergeared and you know you'll be pushing the timer, don't even risk 5 amber. It's not worth it.
5. Nobody should dismount from their drakes until everybody has landed, and you verify that everybody is out of combat. We had several deaths on our earlier attempts due to people aggroing nearby drakes after some people had already dismounted.
6. Our fastest way of killing constructs after the first boss was this:
a) Fly to the outer platform clockwise of the first boss.
b) Fly into the inner ring and proceed to clear clockwise. Mount up between the 2nd and 3rd packs.
c) Fly to the other outer platform when you reach the other end of the inner platform.
d) Fly through the middle to get to the 2nd boss, taking care not to aggro drakes on the way. Be sure to clear 2-3 of the drakes flying low over his platform, they tend to aggro during/after the fight. Also, we used long CDs/Bloodlust on the 2nd boss, not the 3rd like most groups, as we had a higher tendency to die on the 2nd boss.
7. For the third boss, we just tanked the boss where he stood, having the tank just eat the frost buffets. We were able to do this because we had 3 ranged DPS; melee heavy groups might not be able to pull this off.
8. After the third boss, fly out, away from the platform, then up. This will minimize the chance of aggroing whelps.
9. Just follow a standard strategy for Eregos. If you time stop during the enrages and you have an experienced player on the ruby drake, your emerald drakes should be able to use Touch the Nightmare while keeping everybody topped off easily.
Did this with about 2:00 remaining. Very challenging, but very fun achievement.

We used setup 2 Ruby, 2 Emerald and 1 Amber, where Amber was doing rift and at 10 stacks shocked for 130k damage. It's pretty easy. I also died at third boss but if someone ress you quickly it will be ok.

This is a funny story. I personally went with my group to do Emerald Void using 4 ruby drakes and 1 holy pallie healing them. We decided to try play it quick and not loose time between pulls thus we chained pulled everything after 1st boss. so we went quickly on Western platform, killed constructs after killing 2-3 drakes that were close and then we went to the central corridor, quickly aggroed each grp and aoed it fast without waiting. then we went eastern platform, killed 3-4 drakes there using also time stops and destroyed last constructs. went quickly back throughout the tunnel by flying so to avoid pulling other drakes. we were in 2nd boss platform now. the holy pally with his drake did the next best thing: pulled all drakes simultaneously and then the other rubys decimated them by chain dmg. i took 2nd boss and kept it on center, then Army of the dead and my other friend dk army of the dead too. 2nd boss owned pretty good. we still had 10 mins on our clock at there. If you have 10 mins untill there you are probably gonna do it. 3d boss with his platform chase took us 4 more mins so we had a whoppy 6 mins to do the last boss. pulled, me and the other ruby drake exchanged martyrs and pally healed each one of us that martyred each time. the ambers time stopped and channel - shock lanced by order and when whelps came out, ruby drakes raped them along with boss by chain dmg. Emerald void along with Make it Count achievements were my 2 last for my Glory of the Hero achievement completion. You cant imagine how much i laughed when i got all 2 together and finished the line of the heroic achievements. I didnt expect Make it Count to be so easy. I always heard blah blah blah its hard etc. Get a good grp with at least 2 very good dps and you are ok.We had 2 imba dps. Our 3d dps was a retri with a green 2h...LOL. He was so skilled thought that it didnt matter. all the grp was skillful ppl. and this dungeon proves that gear is not always what matters since last boss is indeed a skill check. anyway, im sure ppl who try do this achievement gonna do it and gonna get what they deserve. I'll be happy for all of u that i can help with this comment. ty for reading it and good luck getting ur proto drake. its the coolest mount i've ever taken, and its feeling way more rewarding than a green - lucky wide open ass proto drake or a time lost - no lifer waiting 24/7 to get- proto drake. cheers bye guys

We did it today with this setup:
- Druid - Restoration - Emerald
- Druid - Blance, normally Restoration - Emerald
- Warrior - Protection - Ruby
- Paladin - Retribution, normally Protection - Ember
- Rogue - Combat - Ember
3Minutes left at the end.
The group setup doesn't really matter, though.
This achiev is pretty easy if your gear is about T7 - T7.5. Our Retpala for example had 50% blue things on him.
You have to be careful to no pull the trashgroups too fast because this was the reason we only did it at the 3rd try.
Just don't pull too much of the dragons and aoe the trash and it should be an easy walk-through.
评论来自

I found this actually reasonably easy, considering the hype it gets.
We had a group with a mix of heroic/naxx10/naxx25 gear, all pulling 2k+ on the trash.
Flew the entire thing on our boss makeup - 1 red, 2 green, 2 amber. Managed to have 1:30 left on the timer. This was out 3rd try for the achievement.
Just as a guide: we killed 2nd boss with 10 minutes left. pulled 3rd boss with 7 mins left. Pulled last boss with 5 mins left.
The main things are:
- move as a group, DPS the same target
- kill as many drakes as you need to. They die in 10 seconds or so, and a res takes at least that amount of time if someone dies.
- use vent.
- don't hesitate.
- make sure you know how to use the drakes and the path you need to take. We did a run on normal mode to get used to it first.
- make sure your amber controllers know how to ping-pong 140k shots at the boss.
Good lucl

I've been trying Make It Count for about one week, with maybe 5 solid groups nearly completing the timed event but wiping at the last moment.
things to know:
>consumables makes the trash go faster
>which drake your group members are best with.
>how to not pull extra drake mobs. we have been safe with killing 3-4 per platform, and doing as good as pulling one per platform.
>use vent, and stick close as a group.
>killing drakes as fast as possible and not dismounting prematurely. do not run around on the platforms. after u dismount, be perfectly still.
each time we used an
Ele Shammy
, and favored ranged dps. the groups varied but always wanted to have a spriest, and ele shammy for fort and Bloodlust. the 3rd dps didnt matter class wise but needed a skilled player rather. a DK for an army or mage for aoe. any class is viable but dps is important.
after you kill the first boss, know ahead of time the drake make up you want and have the drake button hot fixed on ur bar to make mounting quick after mobs go down. we used
2 bronze, 1 red, 2 green to be safe.
we killed the east platform first, then west. flew around, up, and out towards the center ring with standing mobs. by chain pulling the entire ring (sticking to the inside edge) you can make it to the next boss in as little as 4-5 mins.
stand still and kill the orange platform boss as quickly as possible. this is where we use our bloodlust, and DK armys if possible. all out nuke this guy and youll be fine, the lightning is negligable damage and he may spawn one add.
quickly fly east and upward after downing the orange platform boss, and begin engaging the mage bosses adds, killing certain mobs first.
dragonhawks, nagas, and the fire elementals are our first kills.
then move in to engage the mage boss. stand still and nuke. hide once, from his blast. continue nuke until dead. mount up,and have your buffing classes buf ur drakes at the mage boss.
fly up to engage the final boss.
do not falter
, and you will live. often people have gotten exicited and lost it. just keep your red tanking drake topped off and have your other drakes do their jobs well.

If you timestop a mob and fly through them while time is stopped, will you aggro them? Because otherwise thats a pretty good idea when you want to fly to all platforms... (Bronze Drake skill)

Just got my Proto, saved this for last.
I had to PUG groups for all my acheivments which can make things a little more complicated, just gotta make sure you run your group thru a reg run so everybody knows your path and so you know they are atleast decent players, i got it on my 4th try. Last day i put togather a group of the people from the first few days that did good and went right to heroic, finished with 2 minutes.
One thing I wanna add is, when you do regular runs first and get down a path for everyone and let them know exacly what needs to be killed in what order, EVERY run i did on heroic I got to boss with 6 minutes left.
This is a VERY easy achivement with a good group, I could see a group geared like myself in full naxx 25 getting to last boss with even 8 minutes left cuz trash would be burned right down, but on boss you just need to make sure everybody knows the drake they are using and they know how NOT to get killed lol
Safest setup is for sure 2 red 2 green and a bronze, with 2 red the whelps go down almost instantly and with 2 green healing is NP. DPS isnt an issue becuase you should have plenty of time on last boss. If your dealing with more of a less geared group, maybe alts or somthing that might not get to the boss with as much time but knows the run really good, you may wana focus more on DPS but as said good group plenty of time.

got this yesterday after many attempts
the main thing was those whelps around the last boss around platform would get pulled
sometimes behind our group so they were LOS
and they kept coming so they killed us from behind when it was too late
so before we engaged last boss we pulled lots of those whelps and killed them
2 ruby 2 emerald 1 amber
had about 1:30 left on the clock
had many attempts on this also as little things are very easy to screw you up like pulling a drake while on ground etc

Completed my Glory of the Hero few weeks ago and this was my last achievement to go. It has taken me (holy priest), prot warrior, fury warrior & mostly 2 other randoms about 4 or 5 tries to master it. Some people were unreliable & made stupid but easily avoidable mistakes that eventually cost us too much time/wipes.
Our last & succesful attempt we went in a good flow, some things that can help:
- take safe & solid drake setup, don't wanna skrew up to have those extra 30 seconds or minute, if u do all previous stuff with few errors, u'd do fine (I took 2 green, 2 ruby & 1 bronze)
- everyone must know the instance and have fine gear (tank who can aoe-tank, good & solid DPS & a healer who can handle it)
- don't be cheap on consumables, no harm in pimping u up before starting
- be careful when moving from inner circle to platforms & back: some drakes u'll need to kill, but it's possible to avoid a lot of them, stay together & look before take-off
Of all heroic achievements, this one gave me the most pain, yet the most satisfaction (together with 5 Amber tacs).
Happy Hunting =)

Easy with people with heads on necks.
1. Before first fight decide who from your team will use which drake.
2. Just after killing first boss get ur drakes (from left, emerald, ruby and amber - do not make mistake) and fly up, u will see first platform, land on it, and start killing mobs going around of it/
3. Fly to closest platform with robots, kill them
4. Fly to next platform with robots.
5. Fly to platform with second boss.
6. Fly higher after fight
7. tip - it takes few seconds for boss to summon menagerie so tank can attack him before all are ready...
8. repeat 3 times, kill boss, then quickly fly to ley guardian.
Problems:
1. Dont waste time for looting.
2. Dont waste time for drinking all time... bring some potions or use all time ur mana reg. abilities
3. dont go toilet "just before last boss..."
4. U wipe once - u lose
5. Fly carefully to pull no drakes or whelplings
6. U need good dps... no slackers allowed for this achiev
7. Bloodlust helps :P
Edit: Did it on my first attempt in 19 min 2 seconds... But before it i was doing Void achievements so i had to know how and where to fly etc... And LAst boss fight with normal drakes set is sooo easy compared to void ones...

I swear 90% of the difficulty on this achievement is getting people to do oculus that don't need to do oculus. Come on people, oculus is easy if people don't have their heads lodged firmly up their asses.
My own inability to find a group aside, how many extra dragon adds can you pull before it's over? Can you clear the sky around boss #2 or do you just have to get through it somehow?

I finished this achievement yesterday and got my Proto Drake (yes i'm happy)
Our group setup was:
Paladin- Tank
Paladin- Healer
Warlock
Huntersx2
After Drakkos died we took our drakes, our combination was:
1 Ruby
2 Emerald
2 Amber
Section 1
Fly straight up and straight across into the centre ring. (Our tank got lost here and cost us about 45 seconds to 1 minute. Start clearing ASAP and chain pulling, once the ring is clear mount up and go left directley to the other platform. Kill any drakes that aggro clear platform. Mount up and fly back through the centre ring and across to the other platform and clear it. Now finally fly back into the centre ring and head towards Varos Cloudstrider, kill any drakes that aggro, which will only be about 2-3 maximum. Kill Varos as quickly as possible.
Section 2
After killing Varos head straight up to Mage Lord Urom's platforms and kill any whelps which might have aggroed. Land on the platform where Urom is, kill the adds he spawns then repeat on the other 2 platforms. When he goes to the centre ring fly down and kill him as quickly as possible. Use your cooldowns etc. A group with good dps can kill him fast enough so that he only has time to do 1 arcane explosion but i'm pretty sure you can do it without allowing him to portal at all.
Section 3
With all bosses dead its time to take on Eregos. Depending on how much time you have left ( we had 7 minutes left on the timer at this point) you'll want to have about 5 minutes left over to kill Eregos. If time allows fly straight up from Urom and kill any whelps that aggro, if not its quicker and safer to fly out-up and back in to avoid the whelps. Land on one of the outer platforms, call a new drake if your one is injured and engage and defeat Eregos ASAP. If all goes well you should complete the achivement with time to spare. Our group killed Eregos with 3 minutes left.
Hope this guide helps and best of luck to everyone taking on this achievement.

I can't emphasise enough how important it is that everybody is familiar with the end boss of the instance. In my opion this is more important than having imba gear. As a reasonably geared group at the time of writing, we made it to the boss with 6-8 minutes to spare. There were 2 deaths along the way and we had pulled extra drakes unnecessarily at one of the bosses. We wiped at 15% on the boss with 2.5m still on the timer.

The trick by fetching a dragon in normal mode, dying and entering heroic after does not work anymore.

Recently did this one myself with 4 others in my guild who were also after Glory of the Hero.
We found the the drakes were really messed up on aggroing. We would instead of inching our way through trying to avoid aggro that we would fly directly from the middle and land on each platform, then dealing with whatever had aggroed from there as quickly as possible.
Our setup was Feral Tank, Shaman Healer, two Ret Paladins and myself, a Shadow Priest.
We did save heroism for the 2nd boss. I would MC the sorcerers around the middle ring beforehand and use their strong AoE attacks, I believe this really helped shave off time. It allowed us to use a safer drake setup of 2 amber, 2 emerald and 1 ruby.
We got to the boss with 4 and a half minutes remaining and had roughly a minute left over once done I believe. This had proven to be the most annoying of the achievments we did because unlike the other more difficult ones.. you couldn't just wipe and try again.

This achievement just doesn't like me. I've been going for it for the last 2 days and today, we were doing great on the timer.. We actually had 8 minutes left when we got to the last boss..
So we spent the extra time buffing up the drakes, etc. When he went into his phased state.. of course, one of the Amber drakes die to the sparks. So it cost us a wipe at 10% with 3mins left on the timer. Oh well, always tomorrow.

I went into Occulus the other day and did this with a few guildies.
I advise you strongly to do this on normal once or twice to get the hang of the setup. Aim for 16 minutes on normal.
Blizzard's stopwatch feature really helps with this achievement, so have one player read off the times, letting the group know if they should pick up the pace or not.
Group Makeup:
2 Emerald
2 Amber
1 Ruby
We went and killed the first boss, got our drakes, and head up to the ring. Those were tank and spank mobs and we just blew through them, no problem. As soon as you get to the second boss, DON'T LAND. Clear out the 4-5 nearest drakes to the platform to avoid accidental aggro. If you have second thoughts at all about a drake lingering on the edge of aggro range, take it. -30 seconds is better than -2 minutes as a wipe. Blow a bloodlust on the 2nd boss, and burn him down as quickly as possible. On the third boss, do NOT kite him around. This will slow dps and shave valuable seconds, even minutes, off your time. Our group got the third boss to roughly 20% by the time he arcane explosioned. As soon as the boss is dead, get out of the frostbomb ASAP. Again, do not loot the boss. Head out of the bosses level. Do not go up towards the boss yet. Just go outside, go down a good level below the whelps, and go forward until you are 100% out of range of aggro of the whelps. After this you go far up above all the whelps. This is where you will fight the boss. As soon as you begin the boss, blow all dps. Have the emerald drakes switch off debuffing the boss, and kill, kill, kill. When the whelps come out, have the Ruby Drake target them and spam one. This will do TONS of damage to boss due to the jump multiplier. When our group was done with the boss, we had an impressive 4 minutes to spare. Good luck on the achievement, and enjoy your proto drake!

Did this with 18 seconds left to spare, lol. Had a DK Tank (tank was his offspec), 2 warlocks, rogue, and a holy priest. Not exactly the best for dps buffs :P.
For the last boss we did 1 red, 2 yellow, 2 green.
Close calls we had to make it more exciting.......
- 2 DPS and Tank died during a big trash pull
- 1 yellow drake went down halfway into the last boss fight
- red drake dropped to 4% HP at one point

An idea occurred to me. Is it possible to come in before the daily reset at 12:00 noon server time and kill Drakos, get your drakes, then run back to the beginning of the instance and wait for the reset. Then you would fly around, kill all but 1 Centrifuge Construct. Kill Drakos, then Varos, then Urom, and then proceeed to kill Eregos, of course killing the Azure Drakes or whatever they are called before flying to Varos. This would also still require prior knowledge of what color drake you will be riding and previous visits to The Oculus to know what you are doing for each boss. Can anyone confirm?

I just did this achievement with a group, and everyone in the group was awarded the achievement but myself. I can only assume it's because I was killed during the second boss's trash and ran back during it. So apparently, don't release if you die or you will not get the achievement.

Just did this with 1 Ruby, 1 Emerald and 3 Amber.
After the 3.2 patch this is pretty more easy than before, we did it in 15 minutes without killing more than 3-4 drakes between the 1-3 boss.
Everyone in our group was naxx 25-ulduar geared, so we had good dps on the bosses.
Its easy if you just go for it:) Gl too all.

Well we downed Eregos with 20 secs to spare.
But it did NOT give the achievement.
Anyone any ideas as to why ?
(and please dont say we were out of time, because we weren't)

The absolute fastest way to kill Eregos is with 5 Amber drakes. However, doing so requires a high degree of coordination and some luck. It is the best way to do Ruby Void, but it is neither necessary nor recommended for this achievement.
What I recommend for this one is 3 Amber and 2 Ruby, with the healer flying one of the Amber drakes. As soon as you get your drakes, fly up to the inner "horseshoe" ring, kill the first construct group, then fly west to the first platform. You should be able to get to that platform without aggroing more than two of the Azure Ring Guardians. Kill them quickly, land, and kill the three constructs on that platform. Then get back on your drakes and go back east to the horseshoe. Kill the second construct group and mount up on your ordinary ground mounts. Run around the horseshoe to the north (don't fall off when it gets narrow!), kill the remaining two construct groups on the other side, then get on your drakes and take out the east platform the same way you did the west one. Remount drakes, fly back to the middle, and head north to the platform with the second boss. In addition to the drake or two you will pick up on the way to him, you must clear all the drakes over his platform or risk aggroing them during the fight. Time Stop is useful here. Now kill the second boss, remount drakes, fly straight up, and kill Uronn. During the final confrontation with him, you
do not
need to kite if your healer is competent and your DPS reasonable.
Time for Eregos. Fly up, killing any whelps in your way (Ruby drakes are very handy for this). Have the healer dismount on the edge of the large center platform while the other four drakes engage the boss and stack up over the healer's head. The Amber drakes should alternate channeling rifts and shooting the boss -- first Amber channels up to 10 shock charges, then the second Amber starts channeling, then the first Amber uses Shock Lance until there are 10 charges again.
Wait until you see the rift channeling from the other drake before dropping your own channel.
The rift can miss, and using Shock Lance without a rift on the boss is an extreme DPS loss. Meanwhile, the red drakes are killing whelps (or shooting the boss if there are no whelps out) and the healer is healing them all from the platform. The reason to do it this way is that a geared healer is much more effective than an Emerald Drake. The healer must be sure to keep himself healed through Arcane Volleys, but this is not difficult since Eregos only uses that ability every 10-15 seconds. I recommend using Time Stop and Evasion/Martyrdom on an ad hoc basis if you get in trouble, rather than trying to set up a rotation. During phase shifts, all drakes circle around the platform in the same direction and come back to the healer. You should be able to kill Eregos with at least 2 minutes to spare, if you are efficient in the Construct-killing phase and everyone does their job right on the boss.
General tip: every time you land on your drakes,
wait a couple of seconds
before dismounting. Someone may get aggro just as they land. The second or two it takes to make sure of this may save you a wipe.
This achievement is not as hard as it sounds. The main requirement is having a group who are all very familiar with the instance. You don't need uber gear and you don't need to be super fast on Eregos, you just have to move quickly from one objective to the next.

Attempted this achievement last night. I was leading it and I screwed up on the way to the first platform, attracting too many drakes and I died. Not too much of an issue as we had a good group so they cleared the platform and I was back with them as they started clearing the inner ring.
We had one other death on the second boss and rez'd and moved on from there without any troubles knocking off Eregos with about 30 seconds to spare.
Everybody got the achievment but me. :( I'm not sure if my dying and therefore leaving the instance screwed the attempt up for me, but it's totally bogus if it did. I have a ticket out to hopefully resolve the issue, but I thought I'd post a note to let people know that if they can help it, if you're drake is dying, get over solid ground, and get rez'd when you can instead of releasing. Just to be safe.

I'll agree with some other posters that the hardest part is getting people who don't really need to run Oculus to run it. It is a bit of an annoying instance. However, if you've got people who are working on Glory of the Hero with you regularly, they will probably get to know the place as well as you during the void runs.
This was the last achievement I needed for nearly two weeks. Some real life stuff came up, but I was also a bit intimidated by it. In the end it didn't take much more than being determined to take a group in there. During our void runs we practiced cutting through the middle during construct killing time, and we practiced pulling as few drakes/whelps as possible.
Today I finally said "I am doing this today." Got a group of guildies, one of whom did the voids with me, one of whom ran Oculus very regularly for whatever reason and two who had never done it before.
We did two regular practice runs prior to trying heroic. We were shooting for 16 minutes from first boss kill on regular. 1st run: 16:34. Second run 13:10.
Heroic: 1 death during constructs, 5-6 drakes pulled, 2-3 whelps pulled. We engaged Eregos at 12:25 after 1st boss down. Killed him with a whopping 4 minutes to spare. Don't be intimidated by this achievement! Take a good group, do a few practice runs, and go for it.
A few tips:
-Don't loot anything until after the run and use consumables for maximum buffs.
-Use time stops when flying to the construct platforms. It can reduce the number of drakes you pull significantly.
-Fly straight at Mage Lord on his three landings. He won't aggro right away so this saves time.
-After Eregos' planar shift (or whatever it's called) ends start flying back toward him to reduce downtime.
It's not unreasonable to think we could have done this with 6-7 minutes to spare. We pulled a few more drakes than we wanted and we had the death mentioned above.
Probably the most rewarding mount I have (I'm at 74/100 for the Mountain O Mounts so that's saying something). I had one of the worst days I've had in a long time, but this bad boy really managed to cheer me up.
edited to include the very last sentence.

Does anyone know if wiping clears your chance at the achievement? My group wiped from drake and we still killed the boss with 2 minutes left according to Blizzards tracker, however we did not get the achievement.

Just did this achievement today, it doesnt really seem to be as hard as people make it out to be. Our group consisted of a prot pally, DK, boomkin, hunter, and resto shaman. We cleared trash up to the 1st boss, made sure everyone was clear on how we were doing the rest of the run (drake assignment, boss strats, etc.) then pulled. once the 1st boss was down we mounted up, killed the necessary trash, avoiding as many drakes as possible and then downed the 2nd boss. from there it gets a lot easier, cause theres no more drakes to avoid. cleared the necessary trash for the 3rd boss, and engaged him. for the 3rd boss, to save time and make it easier, we didnt kite him anywhere, just positioned him so the tank wouldnt have to move for the arcane blast, and had ranged stand out of the ice, and then stack on the tank for the blast. from there we flew up to the final boss and killed him, pretty simple, 1 tank to handle adds, 2 healers just to be safe, and 2 dps to kill boss and time stop enrages. did the whole thing with no deaths and 5 min to spare. only have 2 time saving tips. 1st, when your flying around to trash, land as close to them as possible, and 2nd, when your in the middle ring, mount up between pulls to get to the next mob faster, other then that, if the people in your group have run occ once or twice, and know how to use the drake their on, your group should have this one in the bag.

I have a few tips from my own experience as both a healer and a tank, on different occasions, of course.
First, the Ring-Lord Sorceresses in the Centrifuge Constructs clearing part should be interrupted. They cast Flamestrike, which will deal a large amount of damage to your party, and Blizzard, doing the same. Since Flamestrike is a cast, and Blizzard is a channeled, both can be active at the same time. Failing to interrupt can result in a wipe, which can cause you to fail this achievement.
Second, do not try to do Amber Void along with this achievement. I believe that the best working drake setup is the default one, one Ruby, two Emerald, two Ambers. If you leave out the Ambers, you simply do not have enough DPS for Ley-Guardian Eregos, and if you leave out an Emerald Drake, things can easily come out of control and cause a wipe.
These are the most important parts of doing this achievement, but you should bring some good geared players for it. Trying to PuG it never works out very well.
Damn Oculus achievements...

i've just done this achievement with 5 minutes to spare, we did it like this.
setup: doesn't really matter.. warrior tank - rogue, retridin, dk - holy pala
drakes: all ruby (yes slow but steady)
after interrogator is down, all hop on ruby asap, fly up and avoid as much dragons as possible, clear the first flying thingie with the 3 constructs on, then fly to the inner circle and clear it. once you reach the end at that you should be near the second flying thingie with 3 constructs on, kill them fly to the boss with agro'ing as few as possible dragons clear the area around him so you don't get any dragons joining in on the fight, fly up to do mage lord, keep flying an dmoving around until you get to kill him, fly up asap 4 ruby's fought him, the holy pala unmounted and healed us not really hard to heal through thats it 5 minutes spare time
Good luck and hf ;)

I've been tired of not having the Glory of the Hero Achv, and I still needed this achv, along with the Ruby and Amber Void, and the Experienced Drake Rider. I had gotten the Emerald Void achv back in 2010 during a PUG.
A few days ago, I decided to solo the Occulus with my 90 Surv Hunter. After grabbing an Emerald Drake and downing Drakos, I powered through the 10 constructs and the set of illusions in less than 10 minutes.
That left me with just Eregos and about 10 minutes to solo him down. Since I knew that this would be impossible while riding on a single drake, since their health and DPS doesn't scale with your character's level, I just decided to dismount on the top platform and give it a go. Unfortunately, since my raptor pet had no ranged attacks, I lost out on the DPS it would normally contribute to the fight.
I knew the keys would be keeping up all of my DOTs on Eregos at all times and dealing with the swarms of whelp adds. That was the real struggle in this fight. Fortunately, my Surv spec had the Spirit Bond talent giving me 2% passive healing per second. The problem is with enough whelp adds, they can get up to about 30-40k DPS, and when you are only healing for about 6-7k per second, my health was dropping too fast. I had to constantly spam Misdirection and Mend Pet, along with my Multi-Shot attack to try and keep as much of their aggro as possible on my pet, so that I wasn't taking the majority of their damage. It was particularly tricky to have to keep re-targeting new whelps, since they would drop after a couple of MS's, and also, I had to continue to re-orient my position to get the new adds into the frame. Whenever my health dropped to about 90k, I would Feign Death and wait until my health climbed back up to about 150k.
I spent about 7-8 minutes repeating this process while whittling away at Eregos with DOT's and regular attacks whenever there were less than 5 whelps up. Once he got down to 20%, I was able to start popping Kill Shots off on him and eventually he did drop. I was happy to get this Achievement, along with both the Ruby and Amber Void Achv's as well. I was disappointed that I didn't get credit for the Emerald portion of the Experienced Drake Rider Achv. I guess you have to be mounted on your drake at the moment he dies to get credit for that...
