(Okay, I'm going to experiment here and attempt to write a few short things that are kind of similar to
these
, except in a WoW universe. Hope it works out well!)

Property of Ferrous McHammersmithy.
Presented this twenty-second of June in the year 2527 AA
*
in recognition of his accomplishments for the
Explorers' League
.
Entry 001
Gnomeregan:
The wind howled down out o' the mountains o' me homeland, whippin' ta' fur-lined hood straight' off o' me head an' blowin' ta' snow an' sleet right inta' me eyes, blindin' me. But I pressed onward, knowin' that ta' fail me first test as an explorer would nae bode well fer' me an' me future outcome as one. So I bent over an' pressed onward as ta' wind tried to blow me back ta' Ironforge. I was close now, I could smell ta' irradiation in ta' normally fresh mountain air; that an ta' stench of ta' Troggs. Finally, leanin' on me staff to catch me breath, I stood before the gate to Gnomeregan.
I hurried inside so I could get out o' ta' wind. I stopped short, just inside ta' entrance, and paused ta' put on an old
Red Defias Mask
tha' I had found on me travels ta' help protect me from ta' radiation in ta' city. Then I took me
Shatterstone Pick
off o' me back. I ken tha' I would nae stand much o' a chance by me self, and tha' me best chance fer' survival lay in stealth. But if I was ta' die, I would die wit' a weapon in me hand an' shoutin' defiance ta' tha' very end, like any true Dwarf would. But now tha' I was as prepared as I would evah' be, I continued down inta' tha' depths of tha' Gnome's corrupted city.
As I crept slowly down ta' passage, I kept me ears open, listenin' fer' any sign o' ta' Leper Gnomes or ta' Troggs, but it was ta' nae use. The grindin' crashin' sound o' large gears resounded everywhere, makin' it all but impossible for me ta' ken if an enemy was near by. As I rounded ta' first corner, a large room opened up before me, and ta' my joy, I could see somethin' that might jes' be useful to ta' League! I had jus' raised me foot to run happily forward when I noticed somethin' movin' out o' tha' corner o' me eye. I stopped in me tracks an' turned jus' me eyes ta' see what it was. There before me, was some horrendous by-product o' tha Gnomes experiments gone wrong! Some sort o' water elemental was lurkin' in ta' corner! But this was nae normal elemental! Tha' colour o' it was tha colour o' somethin' that looked like it had came from ta' sewer. I shuddered, in me future explorations (if I survived this one), I would be sure ta' look first and then continue!
But luckily fer' me, tha'
Viscous Fallout
had nae noticed me. I pressed me self flat against ta' wall and crept slowily in ta' opposite direction from ta' beast. I soon reached a new corridor and continued on me way, although, this time wit' more caution on me part. And then, I reached tha' end o' the dark corridor I had been traversing, and saw a vast cavern open up before me astonished eyes. I had nae ken tha' Gnomeregan had been this big! I glanced aroun' me cautiously, rememberin' me previous encounter with ta' beast in tha' previous room. But I could see nothin, but a few dark holes in tha' more shadowy corners o' tha room. So I moved forward slowly, keepin' a wary eye out at all times. And then, to me eternal joy, I saw me firs' chest! I hurried forward, all thoughts o' danger had completely left me mind! This was my chance ta' finally prove me self ta' me comrades in ta' league! I would come back from me first exploration with arms full o' loot!
I knelt beside tha' beaten up chest and laid me pick beside me, takin' out a differen' sort o' pick. A lockpick ta' be exact! I fumbled with tha' rusty lock, heedless o' tha' grating and screechin' sounds that my pick made as I attempted ta' force open the chest. Finally, with a final heave, I twisted tha' pick and unlocked the chest. With bated breath I lifted up tha' lid, heedless once again o' the sounds that tha' rusty hinges made. In me mind I could already see twinkling piles of gold, glittering gems, and old and precious documents! But ta' my dismay, there was naught but , a few pieces o'
Tin Ore
, an' a
Large Knapsack
. My dreams of comin' back with important loot an' becomin' a famous explorer like me hero,
Brann Bronzebeard
, looked kind o' grim at tha' moment. But me heart hardened like tha' piece o' stone tha' it was. I would nae give up on me firs' exploration! I would nae let it be said tha' Ferrous Mchammersmithy had brought shame upon his family! So I stood up, took up me pick, and was about to continue onward into tha' city when I heard it.
Above tha' perpetual sound o' tha' clankin' gears I could hear a new a more nefarious sound. Drums . . . drums in tha' deep. It seemed tha' in me haste to find me loot, I had ignored me previous warnin' to me self and alerted tha' Leper Gnomes and Troggs to me presence. Already, I could see their misshapen and shadowy forms creepin' towards me position. I backed up slowly, afraid ta' turn me back ta' them. I was surrounded, there seemed ta' be nae way fer' me ta' make good on me escape! Suddenly, wit' a bestial roar, a Trogg found it's courage and ran toward me! I planted my feet and stood firm, waitin' fer' tha' right moment ta' strike. And then, right before ta' Trogg drew level wit' me, I delivered a
straight ta' tha' head, me pick easily piercing its skull and killing it. But unfortunately fer' me, me victory over their brethren only enraged tha' other monsters. They appeared ta' be gainin' their resolve! I ken tha' if they all rushed me, I would nae make it out alive! I continued backing up slowly, but then, I felt tha' wall against me back.
This was it. I knew then tha' I was probably abou' ta' die. But I would take a few of them wit' me ta' be sure! I planted me feet again, preparing to make me
Last Stand
, when I almost stumbled against some large metal thing at me feet! I quickly glanced down, an' ta' me great joy, I beheld an' ol' an' discarded
Mekgineer's Chopper
! I quickly sheathed me pick on me back an' propped up tha' choppa. It appeared ta' be in good enough condition, but ya' can nae' ken. I quickly straddled tha' bike; tha' beasts closin' in saw tha' i was abou' ta' escape, an' so with a roar, they finally rushed towards me, hopin' ta catch me before I could escape. Tha' was, assumin' tha' ta' bike still worked . . .
An so, wit' a quick prayer ta' tha' Holy Light, I mashed down on tha' big, red ignition button. With a roar, tha' choppa' came ta' life, black smoke porin' out o' its exhaust pipes. I quickly pressed down on tha' acceleration an' skidded out. Wit' a cry of dismay, the monsters all leapt' out o' me way, all except fer' one Leper Gnome tha' was foolish ta' stand in me way. But I gunned past him, as quick as lightin' from a Wildhammer Shaman's hands! I roared down tha' hallway's, past tha' confused
Viscous Fallout
, and straight out o' tha' gates inta' tha' snow! But I did nae stop there! I was free an' on ta' Ironforge where I would report ta' tha' League! I had survived me first exploration, an' gained a nice ride in tha' process! I was ready fer' me next adventure!

Awesome work, as always, Queggy.
One thing I might suggest, is taking out the links, and putting asterisks or subtext numerals in next to the words, then putting the links in the notes.
Example:
Explorer's League(1)
Red Defias Mask(2)

Septimus
Nice stuff, but what ever happened to Rise of Hellscream....

I thought about that, but the only problem would be that it would mean that instead of just hovering over the link, the reader would have to click and have the screen jump down the page to see it and then either scroll back up or press the "back" button.
Nice stuff, but what ever happened to Rise of Hellscream....
Errr . . . it's lurking around on Google Docs somewhere . . .

If I can ever find more time between school, normal wowhead, helping write blogs, etc. It may get semi-finished . . . Sorry! Don't hit me!

Well, when I see subtext like that I always wait until I finish the page, then check it. I might be the only one that does that though. I just thought that the linking within the story tends to take the readers out of it.
It's really good though, none-the-less. I love that you named the guy Ferrous McHammersmithy too. Always liked subtle post references.

I suppose I could work on that next instead of this.

Ok, I'll keep that in mind for future stuff. It's really good though, none-the-less. I love that you named the guy Ferrous McHammersmithy too. Always liked subtle post references.
Lol, I assume you read the History and Lore behind the races thread then and understood the name? Thanks! I also thought people would get a kick out of the Moria/LotR reference.

Heh, sorry Queggy, just as I posted the quote the fix popped up.

That's alright. I just try to edit my responses in so that I don't double post. So I guess you'll need to keep an eye out on previous posts from me.

Oh I noticed that too, but to me, LotR is kinda boring since getting into the Conan and Warcraft Novels.

Heh, not saying LotR is bad or anythin, it's just the whole typical fantasy thing. You know, Elves, Humans and Dwarves(good guys) fighting off the Orcs and Goblins(bad guys), to usher in a new era of peace and prosperity.
/yawn
Give me characters who can't be rightly conceived as wholly good or wholly evil, and I'll be much more interested.

Yeah, but it was basically
the first
fantasy novel as we know them today. Tolkien defined the new era of fantasy and shaped how we look at elves, dwarves, and other famous and popular ideas.

I know, it's just since delving into more elaborate ideas with the fantasy genre, the whole good vs evil and typical races are a bit played out. The Hobbit still remains as one of my favorite fantasy books, and the LotR series is still in there as well, but they're both topped by The Hour of the Dragon(Conan), Rise of the Horde and Lord of the Clans.

I have to agree, LotR.... way too long. 900 pages of walking to a mountain, or at least that's what it felt like to me. I have all three books in a one book deal, I've read it once... and I won't read it again.
I got pulled into the fantasy genre with Weis Hickman and Dragonlance heh.

Have you read the 'A Song of Ice and Fire' series by George R.R. Martin? They've topped every fantasy story/series I've read, the characters are so well developed...
Hope this wasn't too off-topic, since you guys were already talking about other fantasy series.

because you were doing somthing people wouldn't dare to do and that was to change the Lore of WoW a bit
I beg to differ.

HiVolt
Damnit contradicted :P Well i mean Queggy did it as well and so did i but i was flamed for it by Irindia
Well, if you ever decide to write something that goes against the lore or whatever, feel free to just use that thread. That's what it's there for. :D

Also, i really liked this but Rise of Hellscream because you were doing somthing people wouldn't dare to do and that was to change the Lore of WoW a bit anyways great Story!
I don't really feel that I changed the Lore, I mean, we already know that Garrosh takes over the horde. We just don't know
how
. It was just my take on it all.
Queggy how do you get the icons for the items!
Bloggin' powah.

Did I mention that I really like the style that this is in?
The "story composed solely of journal entries" theme is something I've wanted to do for a long while, but I've never been able to put it to it's full potential. I started doing it with Howl of the Frostwolf, but the journal entries in that are just side-stories at best.
