(( Once again the living face off against the dead ))
- The Crusaders they were tracking had set up a camp site for the night, just on western side of the Thondroril River. Nilon and his allies had set up one several meters away, using a much smaller campfire then the Crusaders to try and avoid detection. They sat around it, planning their attack.
- "Once the majority of them are asleep," Nilon began, "we'll attack. After we have whatever relic is in their possession, we'll destroy it."
- "Must we destroy it?" Scalebender asked. "I mean, after all, the power it has could provide great knowledge and insight. With that we could-."
- Thrrag hit the Lord Naga square in the jaw, unhinging it. "We'll have nothing to do with demonic magics, Naga," he said. "That item must be destroyed!"
- Scalebender snapped his jaw back into place. "Nothing to do with demonic magic, you say? Care to explain those
runes
on your totems, then?"
- "They're not important," Thrrag said, diverting his eyes.
- "If they have anything to do with demonic energy," a monotone voice said from the darkness, "I beg to differ." The Death Knight stepped into the light.
- "Morec!" Nilon shouted, and all five of the living jumped to their feet and cast a spell that knocked the Lord Death Knight back. But Morec responded with a spell that dragged Nilon towards him.
- "Garen! John! Darklock!" he shouted, "you deal with those four! Arceus and I will take care of the Paladin!"
- The three undead Morec had first named jumped from the shadows and ran for Nilon's allies. a fifth undead - a rogue wrapped in a large cloak - stepped up besides Morec, a short sword in either hand.
- "We finish this tonight, Paladin," Morec taunted.
- "We shall," Nilon agreed, "and you will finally know peace of rest. Anar'alah belore!"
...
- Marcus looked around. The Trisfal Glades were just as plagued with undeath as they had been even since the third war. He looked at the mindless zombies walking around, hungering for flesh.
- It disgusted him.
- The transport they had used to get here had docked right up on the the beach, and he stood on it's deck, staring out into the forest.
- "My lord," the two Paladins he had brought with him - Derek and Sean - said, "are we ready to depart?"
- "Nearly," Marcus replied, "its just taking me a while to take in this... mess." He was at a less for words to describe what he saw.
- "Captain!" one of the sailors suddenly yelled, "the undead are boarding the shi-." He was cut off as a Ghoul ripped his head from his shoulders.
- He had spoken the truth, thought, the undead were crawling all over the ship and Derek and Sean had already jumped into the fray of battle.
-
Just perfect
, Marcus thought grimly and then dove into the fight as well. His power devastating his sworn enemy in a matter of minutes.
- Then, victorius but battle-weary, he and his allies rode off into the Glades.

Nice! Great read as usual =D

It was lacking a sexual innendo on behalf of Darklock though, that's my only slight critisism.

You should, nothing like the goth dead chicks to bring the "weirdos" out of the woodwork.

Not really. Never been a fan of Whitemane, see no reason to be a fan of an undead version of her. Also recently read a very disturbing short zombie story about a woman who dies during intercourse and eats her lover........ yeah, that pretty much killed any thoughts of sexy undead for me.

The final battle has begun.

Nice work. Though may I ask if your are going to use any of the characters from the suggestion thing?

You can copy paste all those into one post you know?
And how long does eventually insinuate? And which character? (No use asking...)

Yeah, felt lazy. As for eventually... well, telling
when
might spoil some of the plot.
EDIT: But I will be using some of them. That I promise.

A preview of page 32
- "Submit!" Morec yelled pushing his runeblade forward against Nilon's sword, trying to make the Paladin lose his balance and break their blade lock.
- "Not as long as I draw breath!" Nilon retorted, using his strength to try and push back Morec's sword.
- "Then perhaps it is time to change that?" Morec pulled his runeblade back and swung again, the speed and fore of the oncomming blow enough to split a stone golem's midsection.
